The Space
Experience the natural beauty and refreshing atmosphere of Punta Banco in our year-round wavefront studio. Situated on half an acre of lush beachfront gardens between the jungle and the ocean, this thoughtfully converted banana container offers a cozy, air-conditioned bedroom, a kitchen, a spacious outdoor bathroom, and a shaded teak front deck where you can unwind in the ocean breeze.
Our studios are ideal for digital nomads, former wave enthusiasts, or couples who love the ocean.
Located just steps from the Pacific Ocean, several quality surf breaks, and a cool natural swimming spot, the Zapotillo Studio serves as both an energizing surf base and a peaceful retreat. The space includes private parking, high-speed Wi-Fi, abundant natural spring water, and seasonal fresh fruit and herbs grown on-site.
The kitchenette is equipped with quality cookware, a small refrigerator, and all the essentials needed to prepare garden-fresh fruit or sushi from your catch. Sleep soundly on queen-sized memory foam mattresses and wake to the calming sounds of nature surrounding this little slice of paradise.
Start your day stretching and enjoy drinks in the evening from the canopy deck. When you're ready to surf, the small, locally operated surf shop right outside offers rentals, lessons, and expert advice to help you make the most of your time in the water. During the dry season mornings, the surf shop also serves as a café featuring local coffee and healthy smoothies.
Guest Access
Guests have access to one side of the container duplex, including a private front deck, shared canopy deck, front and back yards, and gardens. One parking space is available on the property.
The nearby surf shop, Bodega Surf Supply, is a small community-focused business where you can arrange equipment rentals, lessons, and get local surf information.

About Bodega Surf Supply
Bodega Surf Supply is a community-oriented surf shop and rental business focused on conservation. Located beachfront in Punta Banco, it serves as a hub for surf lessons with local instructors and provides essential surf gear. The shop also houses Urchin Surfboards, handcrafted in the garden workshop behind the property.
About Us
Pat and Christie are a couple from Florida who moved to Costa Rica shortly after finishing school. They have lived happily in Punta Banco for 15 years. Their other project, The Yoga Farm, is where they live, teach, build, plant, and continue personal growth.
Wilmer and Becky, lifelong Punta Banco residents, embody the pura vida lifestyle. They surf, fish, teach, photograph, guide, and manage their home while raising a wonderful family in Pavones.

Patrick and Christie were really friendly and proactive. They helped us with request/problems and shared recommendations. The accommodation was clean and looked like the pictures. It’s a quite and peaceful place perfect for surfing. The beach was right across the streets. All in all would recommend.

I LOVE staying in this magical place. It is so cozy and comfortable while still giving you the lush jungle vibes. It’s very well maintained and it has all the attention to detail. Path and Christy are amazing hosts and made my stay feel like I was at home. I love their smoothie bar right outside my door with some of the best smoothies I have ever had. The ice bath is a nice touch and some of the best surf on a stunning beach is right outside your door. Can’t wait to be back!

We were absolutely impressed with this wonderful well thought out place. The location is incredible, right across the sea, very close to the jungle. It was very clean, the shower a nice experience, all very tastefully designed and decorated. The communication was great, if there were any questions, they looked and acted directly for a solution. The smoothies right outside the door are the best we've ever had. All in all, we experienced a piece of paradise, a thousand thanks for that, Michael and Jess

The place is very attractively designed. We particularly liked the bathroom. The location on the beach is great. Personally, the place, a converted container, was a little too cramped for me. But since you spend most of your time outside, it's absolutely fine for a few days.

We had the best time in Punta Banco, the airbnb is so close to the beautiful beach and very peaceful. The beach is beautiful with amazing sunsets and quiet surf. We will be back for sure. Also delicious smoothies from The Bodega just out front 🤤
