The Space

Relax at this peaceful and distinctive lake cabin surrounded by nature. The cabin features a spacious bedroom with a king-sized bed, a private bathroom ventilated by large windows and a ceiling fan, and a balcony offering spectacular views of the woods and mountains.

Inside, you'll find a coffee station, refrigerator, microwave, and essential kitchen utensils for daily use. Throughout the property, multiple hammocks provide perfect spots to unwind. A bonfire area is available for roasting marshmallows, and there is also a grill for barbecuing.

The property includes a beautiful lake fed by a pure spring, ideal for swimming. A handcrafted wooden deck beside the lake offers a serene place to spend hours appreciating the natural surroundings.

We take pride in preserving the spring water source, which comes directly from underground rivers. Guests are kindly asked to help keep this water pristine. The environment is treated with care through recycling, tree preservation (only removing damaged trees that pose a risk), active tree planting, and the use of solar lights to minimize electricity consumption.

Location and Nature

Adjacent to the property is the Acapulco River, where visitors can enjoy a short, easy hike through lush forest inhabited by monkeys, birds, and iguanas. The river’s clear, fresh water is perfect for swimming.

The area is rich in native flora and fauna, including hummingbirds, toucans, magpies, butterflies, and various insects. The natural scent of wood and earth fills the air, creating a relaxing and rejuvenating atmosphere.

For hiking, we recommend using insect repellent to stay comfortable.

Guest Access and Transportation

The cabin is located on the route to Monteverde and can be found on Waze or Maps under “Rio Acapulco, Coyolar, Puntarenas, Costa Rica.” The property spans 25,000 square meters (6 acres), offering ample space to explore or relax.

The road to the cabin is paved and accessible by any type of vehicle. The bus from San José to Monteverde passes the property twice daily at 6:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. The bus stop in San José is 400 meters north of Mercado Central, Terminal 7/10 on the second floor. From Monteverde, buses depart at 6:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. from Plaza Monteverde Mall 42 in Santa Elena. Tickets can be purchased in advance through TRANSMONTEVERDE.

Shuttle and private services are available throughout Costa Rica, including Interbus, which offers transportation from Juan Santamaría Airport to Monteverde for $65 (2024 rates). For travelers coming from Liberia or Guanacaste, it is recommended to reach the Sardinal de Puntarenas entrance and take a taxi to Rio Acapulco, where the property is located.
