Architect-designed house with natural ventilation above the forest. Wood predominates with Japanese inspiration. View of the sea, 5 minutes by car from the Majagual/Matilde beaches.

Casa Selva has everything you need to enjoy a good vacation in peace and quiet, and it has everything you need. We were able to bring our 3 pets with no problem.

Absolutely stunning and extremely comfortable. We loved everything, these little houses are gems hidden on top the hill. The house is made out of concrete, wood and bamboo, a beautiful mix, and the walls are basically mosquito nets, so the wind is constantly blowing through every room of the villa. So despite the heat and the fact that there is no A/C, chilling inside the house in the middle of the afternoon is still very enjoyable. Only feedback we’d have is the absence of a guard to lift the gate up at night and early in the morning was problematic. We came back from San Juan around 10PM and had to scream up the hill for twenty minutes before a guard came to let us in. We then left early in the morning at 6:30AM and had the same problem but to get out. Still, despite this little inconvenience, our stay was amazing and we all highly recommend it !

Casa Selva is a beautiful house. Super great architecture. House was well equipped- kitchen was perfect for easy breakfast at home. We made smoothies, toast and coffee every morning. Would head to the beach for the day and then come back to enjoy a cerveza on the porch and watch the sunset. Nice living room area to watch movies as a family after dark. We really were only there to sleep, eat breakfast and relax in the evenings. So it suited our needs well. The location up on the hill was awesome for lingering sunset views. We did love the house and the hosts were very responsive, welcoming and helpful. A friendly PSA to anyone who is not a heavy sleeper- the house is VERY WINDY. The wind just blows and blows, crazy strong gusts coming from every which way and it made it impossible to get a good nights rest. It is an open air design in an extremely windy location. Know what you’re signing up for and be prepared for potentially restless sleep.

We loved our stay! Lauras place is beautiful, has incredible views and was perfect for what we were looking for. We loved it so much we extended our time there and Veronica who looked after us during our stay was very responsive and helpful with absolutely everything we needed. Would 10/10 recommend you stay here for as long as you can and we would be so happy to come and visit again.

The house was gorgeous. It was also very functional, with everything having its place. There are no glass windows, only mosquito screens, allowing fresh air to flow through the house at all times. It was pristine and perfectly clean. Laura was very helpful and professional. One minor consideration, not directly related to the house itself: unbeknownst to us, the area is currently undergoing major transformation. New roads are being built and some roads are blocked, which can make getting around a bit tricky ... but the house itself is truly a wonderful place to stay.

A truly exceptional place! The house is splendid, perfectly equipped and bathed in fresh air thanks to natural ventilation — no air conditioning needed here. We fully experience the jungle: some amazing insects, but it's all part of the charm of the place. I initially received directions that were no longer up to date, which made me get lost while walking to the beach. Fortunately, Veronica responded to my messages and guided me as best she could. The construction noise was present at the beginning of my stay, but the last two nights were magically quiet. On the other hand, a party in the area lasted until 3 am — and the presence of several drunk people while I was alone made me a little insecure. I didn't expect it, especially since the rules mention a curfew at 10 p.m. Despite these unforeseen events, the place remains beautiful and unique. It feels really exotic.

Beautiful house with the rare comforts and quality in a sacred forest-beach mix. The house has a privileged location with a design that offers a view of both the rising sun and the sunset. Thanks for letting us enjoy the place.
