The Space

This beachfront apartment faces the sea and includes seven bedrooms, accommodating up to 20 guests. The listed price covers six people in three rooms, with an additional charge of $50 per extra guest.

The apartment offers direct access to the beach and features large windows in the social area that provide stunning views of the beach, the bay with its boats, the pier, El Morro, and boats waiting to cross the Canal in the distance. The constant sound of the waves adds to the relaxing atmosphere.

Located on the seafront in Playa Honda, the apartment allows you to hear the waves throughout the day while enjoying views of Taboga Bay, including the pier, El Morro, Taboguilla, and boats at the Canal entrance. When the tide rises, the sea surrounds the house, enabling you to jump into the water directly from the terrace windows or try some fishing.

At night, lights illuminate the beach, and during high tide, you can observe a variety of fish such as sardines, chopas, drummers, needles, and blanket stripes.

Guest Access and Layout

You enter the apartment on the building’s ground floor by descending a few steps. The first floor contains six bedrooms and two bathrooms:

• 1 bedroom with two twin beds
• 2 bedrooms with queen beds
• 3 bedrooms with four bunk beds each

To reach the social area—which includes the living room, dining room, bar, kitchen, master bedroom, and an additional bathroom—you go down a staircase. Both the social area and master bedroom offer beautiful ocean views. All bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning.

Water supply occasionally experiences interruptions on the island due to maintenance or damage. To address this, the apartment has water tanks with a capacity of up to 930 gallons for emergencies.

Location and Surroundings

Playa Honda offers a unique coastal experience with direct access to the sea. The surrounding bay includes notable landmarks such as El Morro and Taboguilla. The area is ideal for fishing, swimming, and observing marine life.

Additional Information

Panama has two main seasons: the rainy season from April to December and the dry season from December to March. Tourism on the island increases from November through April, especially during national holidays, so it is advisable to purchase tickets in advance to avoid last-minute difficulties.

Between July and October, humpback whales migrate through the waters near Taboga, creating a popular attraction for visitors. September is the peak month for whale watching.

Tap water on the island is not safe to drink, but the apartment is equipped with filters to make water potable. Guests may also bring bottled water from Panama or purchase it on the island. Water costs $8 for a 5-gallon container, and ice is available for $4 per bag.

The island sometimes experiences water service interruptions due to pump damage or other issues. The apartment’s reserve tanks help mitigate this, but water conservation is encouraged.

There is no supermarket on the island, only a small store offering basic necessities at higher prices due to transportation costs. The island has one Banco Nacional ATM, so it is recommended to bring cash in case the machine is out of service.
