The property is ideal for a large family or group of friends who want privacy while still having plenty of space to gather. It offers a comfortable indoor-outdoor Baja living experience, with areas for both adults and children.

The Space

Casa Circo and Casita Circo were custom-built in 2020 as our family home. We lived here for five years with our young boys and rescue dogs, and we are now happy to share the property with visitors to the area.

Casa Circo is designed for indoor-outdoor living, with numerous sitting, dining, and play areas throughout the property. Guests can enjoy:

• Air conditioning through mini-split units in each main space
• Large smart television
• Comfortable couch
• Full kitchen with an extra-large counter

The home includes plenty of concrete and durable furnishings to make it easy to relax and enjoy your stay.

A separate office provides two desk spaces, air conditioning, a fan, and views. It is a convenient setup for combining vacation time with work.

Main House Bedrooms

The main house includes three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms.

Primary Bedroom

The primary bedroom is located upstairs and features:

• Brand-new king-size mattress
• Large closet
• Walk-in shower
• Double sink
• Excellent views
• Private balcony with a daybed overlooking Cerritos

Additional Bedrooms

The two smaller bedrooms open directly onto the pool deck and extended patio. They share a bathroom with a bathtub. The tub is suitable for children and shallow baths, as the water supply does not support filling it completely.

Both rooms include ample closet space:

• One bedroom has a brand-new queen-size mattress.
• The second bedroom has a bunk bed with a full-size bed on the bottom and a twin bed on top.
• A small couch converts into an additional twin bed.

Casita Circo

Casita Circo is located at the end of the property and is completely separate from the main house. It has its own gated entrance and is separated from the main home by a fence with a door through the yard.

The casita includes:

• Three bedrooms
• Three bathrooms
• Open-air kitchen
• Open-air living room
• Second-story setting
• Air conditioning and televisions in the bedrooms
• Desk and closet in each bedroom
• Smart televisions in each bedroom
• Ensuite bathroom for each bedroom
• Reliable internet
• Private and communal areas
• Secure parking inside the gated property

The casita bedrooms are arranged as follows:

• Two bedrooms with queen-size beds
• One bedroom with two twin beds

The casita kitchen is open to the surrounding environment and is not enclosed. The living room and kitchen are designed to take advantage of the natural breeze and open-air setting.

The second-story kitchen includes:

• Full oven
• Four-burner stove
• Full-size refrigerator
• Extra-large island
• Custom couch
• Dining table suitable for playing cards or sharing meals

Please note that the open-air casita kitchen and living area are exposed to the natural Baja environment. Flies, mosquitoes, gnats, geckos, birds, roaches, rain, dust, and other native Baja creatures may be present. The bedrooms offer the comfort of air conditioning and televisions, while the common areas provide an open-air experience.

Sleeping Arrangements

The property has six bedrooms in total.

Casa Circo

• Upstairs primary bedroom: king-size bed
• Guest bedroom: queen-size bed
• Bunk room: twin bed on top, full-size bed on the bottom, and twin sleeper couch

Casita Circo

• Two bedrooms with queen-size beds
• One bedroom with two twin beds

Laundry and Utilities

A full-size front-loading washer and dryer are available for guest use. Please shake off sand before placing items in the machines.

A hot-water circulator is also installed.

Safety Information

There are no pool gates. The railing uses a local horizontal style that does not meet standard safety-spacing requirements. Please consider this carefully when traveling with small children; guests are responsible for safety.

The garage is locked and reserved for the owners’ use.

Property and Parking

The property occupies approximately half an acre.

Guests have access to two parking areas and entrances:

• A parking area in front of the casita with a wire gate
• A larger parking area in front of the main house with an automatic gate and keypad entry

Guests have private access to the entire property, including:

• Full main house
• Full casita
• Three casita bedrooms and three bathrooms
• Casita second-story open-air kitchen and living area
• Three main-house bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms

Life in Rural Baja

The magic of Baja California Sur is found in its challenges. Leaving behind the conveniences and expectations of home creates an opportunity to slow down, appreciate what is truly necessary, and experience rural Mexico as it is.

This property is intended for guests who want to enjoy Baja’s natural setting, including its open-air spaces, desert environment, ocean proximity, and changing weather.

The home is open-air in several areas, and the outdoor environment cannot be fully controlled. Dust is always present, regardless of how often the property is cleaned.

Important Local Information

Please be aware of the following conditions:

• Driving at night can be dangerous because of cows on the road and vehicles without headlights. Please drive slowly; these are not bandits.
• Most roads away from the main highway are unpaved.
• Roads throughout the area may have potholes and uneven surfaces.
• Many roads do not have street names, and homes may not have formal addresses. Use the provided maps and conduct some research before arrival.
• Many businesses close around 9:00 p.m., sometimes referred to locally as “Baja midnight.”
• Buildings may leak during rain, and water can enter beneath doors depending on the amount of rainfall.
• The area is a desert environment with many new residents, so mice, geckos and gecko droppings, flies, gnats, ants, scorpions, mosquitoes, and occasional snakes may appear.
• The Cerritos area is developing quickly, so construction may be visible or audible in the distance.
• The area is considered safe, but petty theft can occur. Please store electronics and valuables in safes or locked cabinets when you are away.
• The property cannot provide refunds for weather, nearby construction, or incidents related to rural Mexico.

We strongly recommend researching rural Mexico, desert environments, Baja Sur’s high and low seasons, the effects of living near the ocean, local weather patterns, and insects before your trip. Be prepared for bugs, rain, heat, cool temperatures, hurricane season, occasional torrential downpours, or a complete lack of rain. Conditions can change quickly in Baja.

Mid-Stay Cleaning

A discounted mid-stay cleaning service is available for Casa Circo or Casita Circo. Linens can also be laundered at a local facility if you prefer that option instead of a full cleaning.
