Overview
Organic Punta Riel is a bioconstruction project that utilizes alternative materials such as structural containers combined with modern finishes. This creates a contemporary Caribbean-style home featuring comfortable living areas nestled within the Costa Rican rainforest. The property provides secure rooms, an organic edible garden, and convenient access to major local attractions like Cahuita National Park. It is an ideal retreat for relaxation and rejuvenation.
The Space
The house is situated in Punta Riel along National Route 36, positioned between the Caribbean villages of Cahuita and Puerto Viejo de Talamanca. Surrounding the home are gardens filled with native edible plants, including bananas, pineapples, soursop (guanabana), and cas.
Organic Punta Riel serves as the base for a large agroecological initiative that incorporates permaculture systems focused on sustainable production. This project harmonizes with the agroecotourism activities developed throughout Costa Rica’s Southern Caribbean region.
Guests are welcome to use complimentary bicycles provided on-site.
Guest Access
Visitors have access to the edible gardens and may harvest certain plants and fruits for personal use. The house features a shared kitchen available during designated hours and subject to house rules.
Additional communal spaces include two living rooms, a dining area, and a relaxation zone equipped with hammocks.

The house was beautiful, the cleanliness of course not top, but logical for the style of the house (open kitchen/living area, many windows and open areas) and should be expected. The host was a dream, always answered directly when you had questions and recommended a dream beach with a small hike through the jungle, near the Airbnb. The surrounding area was quiet and despite the fact that the Airbnb is a bit remote, it is still easily accessible.

The place is very nice and the host is an excellent person. However, there were some aspects that did not leave my family completely satisfied. The kitchen is listed as shared, which is understood for guests renting individual rooms, but in our case we rented the entire house. Still, on several occasions we met a friend of the host and even the host himself using the space, which was a bit uncomfortable. In addition, there are two dogs that often approached where we were; although they are not aggressive, they scared the children. But if it is a place that I can recommend 100% if the above is not a problem.

Nice place, excellent welcome from Fabián and his assistant. It is a spacious house, with a very natural environment, good parking. The rooms in perfect condition and hygiene. My family and I really enjoyed it, we could perfectly come back.

It really needs cleaning. There are excessive bees and insects, even spiders in showers, beds and kitchen. We all got lot of bites. It made no sense

We were hosted by my whole family, and Fabian's treatment was excellent, there was always communication and the place was the same as the photos.
