The Space

Relax in comfort with stunning sunset views! Set in the tropical forest on the flanks of Volcano Madaras, this loft room is just steps away from Santa Cruz village.

• Loft room measuring approximately 400 square feet
• Queen bed with an orthopedic mattress
• Mosquito netting and drinking water provided
• In-room Wi-Fi and two inside hammocks (one under a high-speed ceiling fan)
• Private bathroom located about 10 steps away in an adjacent building
• Access through the bottom floor and up the central staircase

The entire property is a lush tropical forest, abundant with plant and animal life. Guests may often encounter small, shy jungle animals, including birds, butterflies, bees, monkeys, frogs, toads, spiders, and small bats. The unique hexagonal design features a hand-woven thatch roof and cob-style walls, ensuring a cool atmosphere year-round.

Cleaning fees include daily bathroom cleaning and bed making, with full cleaning upon departure. If you need new sheets or towels, just ask, and we will be happy to assist.

For group trips, we have an additional two cabins and a room available, accommodating up to 12 people.

Guest Access

You will have access to all 12 acres of lush tropical dry forest and organic farmland. On our organic farm, you can admire the tropical dry forest critters, including birds, butterflies, and resident monkeys.

During Your Stay

We provide an activities list to guests upon check-in and are on-site to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. We can assist with information on local tours, horse rides, and massages. Your host speaks English and Spanish, while the cleaning and maintenance staff only speak Spanish.

We can also arrange pizza delivery to your room if you prefer not to visit nearby restaurants.

Location

The room is beautifully situated and most suitable for those who plan to explore Ometepe. It is great for hikers who tend to be up early, as it is located near the breakfast/common area. You may hear people about 20 meters away starting as early as 7 AM, which allows you to easily join us for a farm-fresh breakfast (priced between $3 and $6).

Access

To access the Orchid loft room, you will need to carry your bags and climb stairs. The parking lot is located 250 meters away from the cabin.

The Key

The key is available on-site from 12 PM to 4 PM. Late check-ins must email in advance to arrange key pickup. While we live on the property, we go in and out throughout the day, so your communication regarding your arrival time is greatly appreciated.

We have a couple of friendly dogs on-site, making you feel right at home.

Insects

The property is a lush tropical forest, and guests may encounter small, shy jungle animals. None of these species are aggressive, toxic to humans, or otherwise dangerous. The only venomous animal on the island is the coral snake, which is timid and rarely seen. These creatures contribute to Ometepe's status as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, full of natural beauty and diversity.
