You won’t want to leave this charming, one-of-a-kind retreat in the jungle. Nestled in the rainforest along Rio Cortezal, wake up in the morning to the sounds of nature, and say hello to passing toucans and scarlet macaws. Walk up the river to the Uvita waterfall, or take a stroll to some delicious restaurants. Just a short drive from the Marino Ballena Whale Tail national park, we are still secluded in nature, without requiring 4x4. The space This room is located downstairs and boasts a beautiful jungle garden view. It is equipped with A/C. This room shares a toilet and shower with the one other downstairs room. Guest access A shared kitchen is available for guest use, equipped with all of the cooking essentials in addition to coffee and tea. There is a new deck, ample gardens to explore, and a private path shared only with other Osa de Rio guests down to the river. Other things to note We're just a short 15 minute walk to popular restaurants and bars (and there are some delicious spots even closer!) Just 10 minutes walk to the Uvita waterfall, and a 30 minute walk from the bus station.

Shawnna is a great host and her AirBnB is fantastic. The surroundings are beautiful, the The kitchen and laundry room are great and general vibe is great. Note: the location is at the end of the road and getting in and out by foot isn't that convenient, if you have a car or motorcycle this place is great.

Erg fijn verblijf gehad bij Shawnna. We kregen een warm welkom van haar en haar familie. We kregen diverse tips om te doen in de omgeving/restaurants. Vriendelijk en reageert snel op berichten.

Good place to stay for a few days. Shawnna is a nice person and very helpful. We could even do the laundry late when we checked in. Room is very fine, bed is comfortable and kitchen is fully equipped. The place is near the river and waterfalls (walking distance). Little problem was the noise from other guests on the morning. They were loud with some music/television (phone on speaker) and early walking as elephants upstairs. Place should be very calm and peaceful if you’re lucky to have respectful guests during your stay.

The perfect place if you don’t have a car and want to be close to everything going on in uvita, super nice location, you have your own private access to the river. the host was super helpful and had the place incredibly clean and organized, thank you Shawna!!!

Shawna has a really cool place. What I loved about it is the sound of nature, and it’s only a 5-10min walk to cafe Vivo. Shawna was welcoming and friendly.

We had a lovely stay at Shawnnas place. Out room was clean, modern decoration, comfy bed and great AC. Hot water if you just turn the shower on a bit but nice pressure if you don't mind it cooler. Shower has a lovely jungle view. The kitchen is very well stocked and easy to cook in. Nice common area with the dining table/deck. looks onto a gorgeous garden with lots of birds. The river access in the back is amazing. Perfect place to cool off in a private place. Walkable (20-25mins) from the Tracopa bus station. and walkable to some nice restaurants and cafes. We also walked to and from Uvita beach (about an hour) so great for getting about. Local buses go to Dominical too. Laurel and Ignacio that were looking after the place were super friendly and made us feel welcome. Helped us out with lifts and looking at DHL sending packages and bus timetables. Would highly recommend.

As a solo traveler, I found Shanna’s darling hostel a perfect place to relax, hike to waterfalls, the bamboo forest, cook my own food and make friends with other guests. I stayed a week. I highly recommend eating at Indomitos just down the road or at Tribu just up the road. Awake offers yoga at 7.30am every morning and is only a 15 min walk away. Shawnna went out of her way to make me comfortable and even offered a ride to the beach when I wanted to see the sunset and took me to the local market. I HIGHLY recommend her hostel to you if you are into a serene, nature-bound experience. Get the room with A/C. 😜
