Casa Gruta es una casa galardonada ubicada en el corazón de Valladolid, a pocos pasos del Convento de San Bernardino de Siena. Inspirada en el agua y la tierra que dan forma al paisaje natural de Yucatán, la casa ofrece un refugio tranquilo para huéspedes que aprecian la arquitectura, el arte y el diseño bien pensado.
La propiedad ha sido reconocida con el Premio Nacional de Arquitectura y Diseño de AAI y ha aparecido en revistas de diseño de interiores.
El espacio
Al llegar, un hermoso árbol de álamo enmarca la casa, cuyas paredes verdes dan inicio a un recorrido de texturas contrastantes y espacios para la contemplación.
Casa Gruta cuenta con tres habitaciones con aire acondicionado, todas ubicadas en la planta baja y diseñadas para fomentar el descanso y la conexión con la naturaleza:
- La primera habitación incluye un baño privado, una bañera exterior y una ducha exterior para relajarse con total privacidad.
- La segunda habitación ofrece un refugio íntimo con baño privado y un jardín contemplativo.
- La tercera habitación, la más grande, cuenta con baño privado y una bañera exterior circular a temperatura ambiente, ubicada en un patio interior circular. Es ideal para disfrutar de un ambiente tranquilo sin salir de la habitación.
Los pasillos y senderos de la casa están diseñados para estimular los sentidos. En el centro, una terraza abovedada rodea una piscina e incluye una cómoda sala y un comedor exterior para compartir comidas y relajarse.
La cocina, totalmente equipada, se encuentra junto a la terraza. Puede abrirse por completo, extendiéndose hacia el área comunal principal.
En el segundo nivel, una terraza en la azotea con un bar ofrece un lugar ideal para observar el cielo y las estrellas mientras disfruta de la tranquilidad del entorno.
La experiencia culmina en el tercer nivel, en un mirador con vistas de 360 grados de Valladolid, el Pueblo Mágico, que permite admirar la ciudad desde las alturas.
Hay un espacio de estacionamiento disponible para un vehículo grande o dos vehículos pequeños.
Casa Gruta es más que un lugar para hospedarse. Sus senderos protegidos y espacios contemplativos invitan a bajar el ritmo, encontrar calma y conectarse profundamente con el entorno y los sentidos.

Staying in Casa Gruta is like living inside of a grand sculpture. Every detail is stunning. The climate is gently cooled with brilliant architecture. The lights, shadows and sounds… the stunning design, all make for an unforgettable experience. I’m extremely grateful to the hosts, who were generous and kind, and most of all, to the designers, who have somehow produced this gem, and decided to share the treasure.

This was one of the most unique, beautiful, and unforgettable Airbnb stays we’ve ever experienced. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the charm and character of the property. If you’re looking for a place with a true wow factor, this is it! The hosts were incredibly friendly, responsive, and attentive to any questions or needs we had throughout our stay. The location was perfect, with wonderful restaurants within walking distance, stunning historic buildings and churches. The town itself was warm and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and are already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommended!

A truly beautiful place to stay in Valladolid. The house is every bit as gorgeous as the photos suggest. Shows all the signs of an architect’s care in the design and details, and there is a really lovely outdoors-indoors feel: the living area is by the pool, which is open to the sky, for instance. Swimming in the rain and then hopping out to have a drink under cover is pretty special. Bedrooms and comfortable and bathrooms well appointed - with great showers. The location is tremendous. Five minutes maximum walk to the main street of restaurants and shops, so super accessible but also quiet. Pau and Andres are lovely hosts - sent loads of great recommendations and were very helpful throughout. And have some great Spotify playlists! Thank you.

An absolute architectural gem. I came to Valladolid specifically to stay at this home. It was everything I expected and more. A wonderful blend of nature and brutalist architecture. The neighborhood is cute and walking distance or short drive from downtown Valladolid. Clean and easy communication throughout my stay. I definitely recommend.

One of the most stunning Airbnbs I’ve ever stayed at. Lounge in a hammock above the pool. Watch the stars while laying on a sofa, or retreat to a private air conditioned room with a garden view. Great brunch spot on the corner of the block, walkable to some really amazing restaurants. A++

We really loved staying 2 nights here. It was exactly as described and pictured. There’s filtered drinking water at the house. The bedrooms are beautiful, comfortable and serene with excellent showers. The kitchen has everything you need including coffee to get you started. We also loved the location just down the block from the convent. Very easy walk to the main square and all there is to see in Valladolid. Hosts were lovely. Excellent stay.
