The house in front of the ocean as described with a great view!!! We went during seagrass season but there is nothing to do about that, Lots of things to do around the area, great restaurants, a great golf course near by. Great experience

Located in a nice and quiet location, about 20 mins away from downtown Tulum. It felt very safe! The housekeeper, Rita was very friendly and came in every day to tidy up which we appreciated. The beach was well kept and so were the chairs and cushions outdoors. Akumal Direct helped me booked a car rental and private chef service which was perfect considering we didn’t want to drive out multiple times a day for meals. Highly recommend doing so as well and it was well-worth it. Communication was clear and they were very responsive. While the Airbnb is easy to find, I will say the road leading to the Airbnb is very bumpy due to rocks, dirt and being unpaved. No issues for us but thought it should be mentioned. Also the front door to the Airbnb was hard for us to find at first as the home is located behind the first home directly behind the gate. Overall, great space and roomy for 5 people! Would book again.

This place was absolutely beautiful. Right on the beach. That part could not be beat. The staff was incredibly friendly and even did our laundry as we had been traveling for 12 days or so! They put up a hammock for us at my request. The house had two kayaks so we could travel out with friends that visited. The outdoor space was perfect! There is quite a bit of fossilized coral out in the water so it means we had to be careful, but we brought snorkels and masks so we were able to see it. The beds were comfortable. My husband is handicapped so I wish I would have known how many stairs there were to reach the top floor. That was the only draw back to this house. He couldn't ever see the upstairs. There is a restaurant/bar down the street that worked great to grab a cocktail or a pizza. I've stayed once a year for the past 8 years in Akumal and this was definitely one of the best places. The house was a little pricey, but you can't beat being on a beautiful sandy beach

We loved staying here. It was beautiful, clean and well equipped. Eli, the grounds keeper, was especially kind and helpful. The location couldn't have been more perfect. It was quiet and you have direct and easy access to the beach, with opportunities for shade and sun. You can snorkel right there. We had everything we needed and more. The only things I would add that wasn't in the description but just made the place even better is that just a few buildings down, within 5 minutes walk, is a little hotel that has a restaurant. The food was good enough and convenient, but they only take cash, either pesos or dollars. They also have a dive shop where you can rent snorkelling equipment. There are several restaurant options in the more touristy part of Akumal, but also some local restaurants that are great in the little village of Akumal. The Turtle Cafe and Bakery has the best ice cream we have ever had.

This has to be one of the best places to stay if you're looking to stay away from crowds, have a private beach to yourself and enjoy the pristine water. Our favorite thing to do was to prepare some fresh coffee, step into the beach and lounge while watching the sunrise. We did not have any seaweed issues and were able to take full advantage of the beach including the kayaks that were readily available for us to use. A/C worked great throughout our stay and the kitchen had every gadget you can possibly need. The location is ideal if you want to spend time in Playa del Carmen and Tulum but ultimately want to be away from both when it's time to recharge. This being said, you need to have some sort of transportation to be able to take full advantage. We rented a car and it worked out great for us. There's private parking on premises and it takes ~20 mins to get to Playa del Carmen or Tulum. House and grounds keeping were on point, they stopped by every day to tidy up the place.

Villa Serenity is a great place to stay. It is away from the crowds. It has a better beach than most -lots of sand! Huge plus for Villa Serenity. It is a bit of a distance away from most things. The nearest grocery store was about 15 mins north and there are not a lot of restaurants around. We chose to shop at Costco (we later found a Sam's that is closer) and each at home. The home has adequate kitchen items but not plentiful. No dishwasher. The maid is willing to do dishes but there you will have to do them a few times because she only comes once a day and not on Sunday. There are only 6 of each setting. Tulum is 15 minutes to the south and Playa del Carmen - lots to do and eat - is 25 minutes to the north. The home itself is very adequate, not fancy at all. My biggest complaint was the family room had seating for 4-5 people but the house sleeps 6. Hot water lasts for 2 showers - minor inconvenience. That said, I would return. It met our needs and we had a great time.
