Descripción del Espacio
La familia Hernández le da la bienvenida a su finca ancestral al inicio de la comunidad Playa San Fernando. La propiedad "Casa Hernández" se extiende desde la carretera principal pavimentada hasta el tramo más largo de playa de arena, disfrutando de increíbles brisas lacustres.
Ofrecemos un bungalow privado, independiente, espacioso y limpio con WiFi, una cama doble y una cama individual (el tercer huésped tiene un recargo de US$10 por noche). El baño cuenta con pisos de cerámica y duchas de agua caliente.
Construido por Walter, esposo de Manuela y experto carpintero, el bungalow tiene muebles únicos hechos a mano en madera tallada, puerta y ventanas de madera y vidrio, todas con mosquiteros, cortinas y protección de barras metálicas para su seguridad. Hay numerosos estantes de madera y espacio para colgar ropa. El techo es de incrustaciones de maderas tropicales y cuenta con ventilador de techo.
Un filtro de agua con revestimiento cerámico de plata coloidal permite disfrutar del delicioso agua mineral purificada del manantial volcánico Maderas.
Patio y Jardines
El patio privado cubierto incluye hamaca, mesa y asientos, rodeado de jardines naturales y plantados. No hay vecinos adyacentes, lo que garantiza privacidad.
La propiedad cuenta con variedad de árboles frutales, hierbas, flores ornamentales y plantas. También hay perros y gatos familiares, gallinas, un conejo y un cerdo, que viven en sus espacios cerca de la casa principal hacia la orilla del lago y podrían visitar o pasar cerca del bungalow.
Se ofrece un recorrido por los jardines y la propiedad frente a la playa.
Ubicación y Servicios Cercanos
"Casa Hernández" está ubicada al inicio de la comunidad Playa San Fernando. Cerca hay pequeñas tiendas (pulperías) y puestos de productos, además de un cajero automático a un minuto caminando de la entrada del Hotel/Restaurante Xalli.
A cinco minutos caminando se encuentran tiendas, comedores locales, restaurantes y hoteles en Santo Domingo. A unos 15 minutos caminando está la comunidad Santa Cruz, con comedores, hoteles, panadería con productos integrales o sin gluten, puestos de productos, la tienda de abarrotes más grande y un mercado los sábados.
Estas comunidades comparten el tramo más largo de playa de arena entre los dos volcanes.
Entorno Natural
El lago frente a la propiedad es poco profundo con fondo de arena y muchos árboles que dan sombra a lo largo de la playa. Aquí encontrará conchas, semillas y fragmentos de cerámica precolombina.
La playa suele estar vacía, salvo por partidos improvisados de fútbol o pescadores. También hay caballos locales, otros animales domésticos y abundante fauna nativa, incluyendo halcones, aves acuáticas, iguanas, sapos, ranas, ardillas y luciérnagas al anochecer.
Transporte y Actividades
Buses públicos y taxis privados pasan frecuentemente por la carretera principal frente a "Casa Hernández". Podemos organizar tours por la isla, caminatas al volcán, actividades y traslados en taxi desde la isla y el continente.
Ofrecemos desayunos típicos nicaragüenses caseros con huevos orgánicos y servicio de lavandería, previa solicitud.
Acceso para Huéspedes
Los huéspedes tienen acceso a un bungalow privado, independiente y espacioso con dormitorio, baño y patio cubierto. También se ofrece un recorrido por los jardines, la propiedad y la playa San Fernando.
Información Adicional
Manuela y su familia viven con su madre en una antigua casa de adobe y madera hacia la orilla de la playa en la propiedad ancestral, lo que garantiza mucha privacidad ya que no hay vecinos adyacentes cerca del bungalow.
La familia está terminando un apartamento tipo estudio en la propiedad, que contará con cocina pequeña y patio.

Manuela was a great host. She helped with anything we needed like rentals and helped with directions and recommendations. The breakfast was great and very recommended. The room can get a bit hot so just be prepared for that. Manuela’s place is a very nice accommodation.

This little cocoon is a must for anyone who wishes to be close to the locals, chat with them, and discover the local culture. This family is exceptionally kind! Manuela responds attentively to every request or question and is very attentive to her guests. The accommodation is ideally located, between the northern and southern parts of the island. The beach at the back of the property is the largest on the island and, in my opinion, the most beautiful! This place definitely deserves a 10/10!

I really enjoyed my stay. I liked the quiet beach, little kittens and cute dogs they had, and the casita was cute. They do come in every day to tidy up which was interesting but overall I would definitely stay again

It was a wonderful experience staying with the Hernandes family. We were very warmly welcomed and looked after. The surroundings and the accommodation are very nice. You feel like home. Very family-friendly, with dogs, cats, chickens, and all kinds of wild birds flying around. We highly recommend this place.

We stayed at Manuela's place for a week. The accommodation is very well equipped, nicely decorated, and very clean. Manuela comes to clean the room, and there is a bottle of filtered water in the room. The walking access to Santo Domingo Beach from the property is extraordinary. Swimming is great, and there's a view of both volcanoes 🌋. Manuela's kindness, the fresh eggs every morning, and the very friendly communication. I highly recommend this authentic homestay experience. Thank you, Manuela, for your hospitality.

Our stay at Manuela's place was amazing, if we ever come back we would definetly stay here again. The house is located right next to the sandy beach with a beautiful view of both volcanoes, the surrounding area is quite green. The room is located on their property, but it is very private. It has a private bathroom, a ceiling fan, a fridge and fresh drinking water. Everything is clean and neat, the bed is comfortable. Manuela and her family are all very nice and helpful, they were always available if we needed any help. We would definetly recommend staying at Manuela's place, it is comfortable, peaceful, and we always felt at home.

This is the definition of Super-Host! Manuela and her husband Walter were the best hosts I have been to. They went out of their way to help me out. 100% trustworthy. Their property backs onto a private beach! Can't recommend them enough, great experience.

If you get to stay here you are so lucky. Manuela and Walter are the most wonderful hosts, they are so happy to share their beautiful oasis and they are very kind hosts. Manuela was very responsive on text throughout my stay and very helpful to organize a taxi from the ferry and to help me out with getting transport to do things on the island. You can access the water front and my favourite thing to do was to walk there first thing in the morning. The craft, detail and care to the suite are so evident of how much they care about sharing their beautiful home. Just be ready to never want to leave!

We had an amazing stay at Manuela & Walter’s house. The location is very good close to some of the main touristic spots and on paved road (good if you are renting a scooter or atv). There is even a big supermarket close by - which is also very useful. The space was comfortable and clean, with built in bathroom (and great hot shower). House space and garden is also very nice and you have direct access to the beach which is in their backyard, We also had the breakfast which was super yummy. Lastly, both Manuela and Walter are fantastic hosts. Very kind and friendly people, and truly feels like a family stay. Absolutely recommend.❤️

Manuele and Walter were really friendly and welcoming. They arranged scooters, a taxi, kayak tours, etc. You really can't ask these people too much!! Every day, the beds were made, and our terrace was swept. They had put our wet things from swimming in a place to dry on their own. Good to know: Food and restaurants within walking distance are actually a 25-minute walk away. So (like any other tourist), we would definitely recommend renting a scooter. Otherwise, the location on the island is perfect!!
