Casa de dos vidas is large, well appointed with a beautiful exterior courtyard. We were very comfortable there and we were happy to accommodate several guests overour four-week stay. Everything worked fine and having a weekly housecleaning was a bonus. Some things to note: Two bedrooms have double beds, one has twins. There are pump splits in the two larger bedrooms, which we needed on the cooler nights There is a uphill walk the Centro, good for exercise but buses are available And Ubers are easy to get, as are taxis (cheap, too.) All in all a great stay. I would’ve like a good cafe close by but the better restaurants and cafes are a walk away.

Our trip to San Miguel de Allende was to celebrate my birthday and Día de Muertos, and staying at Casa Las Dos Vidas made it unforgettable. The home is in lovely Colonia San Rafael, about a 15-minute walk to the Jardín—close enough to enjoy the energy of town but quiet enough to relax at the end of the day. The house was spotless, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a perfect stay. The uphill walk to the center isn’t bad at all, but when we wanted a break, a taxi was only about 80 pesos (around $4 USD). Alejandro was fantastic—friendly, quick to respond, and always helpful. Everything in the home is clearly labeled and easy to use, which made settling in a breeze. Enjoy the humming birds the love the hot pink Mandevilla vines on the rock wall, plus you have fresh rosemary, lavender and a large very productive lime tree available for your use. We absolutely loved our stay and would come back to Casa Las Dos Vidas in a heartbeat!

Casa las Dos Vidas was the perfect place for my visit. With a well equipped and spotless kitchen, it was easy to stock up on food with a trip to City Market, La Comer and it's an easy walk to Gil's Market in Guadeloupe and the two larger SMA Markets - San Juan de Dios, just a few blocks away and the Ignacio Ramirez market, which connects to the not-to-be-missed Artisan's Market. It was equally easy to eat out at great prices with so many quality and well priced restaurants within 15 - minutes' walk. I'm already missing Inside Cafe's grilled cheese sandwiches on Insurgentes and Chiles in Nogada at El Pegaso. Bellas Artes, the Biblioteca, Cine Bacco, Pro Musica and Teatro Santa Ana and Teatro Angela Peralta offered great places for enjoying live performances and evenings out. As a woman traveling alone, I used taxis for nighttime events and felt safe and secure in my casa. The nights were quiet aside from the nightime birds and celebrations on special days. I want to return!

Casa Dos Vidas was a wonderful option. It is much nicer than the pictures represent. Spotlessly clean and well appointed furnishings. Each bedroom has its own full bathroom, which was perfect for our group of friends. Alejandro was extremely helpful and was quick to answer any questions. He was also provided wonderful recommendations for restaurants and supermarkets. We would definitely stay at Casa Dos Vidas again and would recommend it to anyone looking to stay out of the noise and congestion of the “Centro” but close enough to walk…max 15 minutes.

Loved the indoor and outdoor spaces. Plenty of room to spread out and relax. Mosquitoes were annoying so be prepared if visiting during warm temperatures. The area is safe and relatively quiet. The center of town is about a 3/4 mile gradual climb from the house. Easily walkable unless you expect to do it 3x per day as we did. I would love to stay again. Alejandro was very responsive and accommodating.

The House was clean, quite nicely decorated, and the Host accommodated our request for an early check in. We, however, did not have an entirely enjoyable experience. We knew of course that the House would not have air conditioning, however the House was described as "always fresh, even in the hottest summer." This is wishful thinking and misleading. We had planned to stay for 14 days with three couples joining us for portions of our stay. One couple had to leave after just one night due to the excessive heat and we too left after just 12 days. Future Guests who plan to say in this House would be wise to consider the projected temperatures in San Miguel during their stay. We were also disappointed that the Host felt compelled to make misrepresentations to Airbnb in seeking to justify what we regarded as a clearly invalid damage reimbursement claim. We have NEVER received any type of complaint involving Airbnb. Airbnb correctly concluded that we were not liable.

We are going to go back to SMA and that's where we would like to stay, no need to look for something else
