We booked Jason’s place for my husbands 60th birthday and brought along our two adult children and their significant others. The layout of the home is not only perfect for our situation, giving everyone their own space but more beautiful and perfect than we could have asked for. The pool at the center of the property was amazing as it gave us all a place to hang out and be together. Jason was attentive with suggestions every day and super responsive. Lots of restaurants and bars close by to walk to and Jason gave us great suggestions for those as well. If you are on the fence about whether or not you should choose Jason’s place, don’t hesitate. It’s more beautiful than the pics convey and you absolutely could not find a better host!

We had an absolutely amazing stay! Everything was perfect from start to finish. The house was spotless, beautifully maintained, and incredibly comfortable. It was fully stocked with everything we needed.

The three separate studios were perfect for our children, giving everyone their own space while still allowing us to enjoy time together. The pool was the perfect temperature and seeing monkeys swinging through the trees was a treat.

The location was fantastic. It was just a very short walk to the beach and close to so many great restaurants and activities.

Jason was an exceptional host. He was incredibly responsive and helpful. Every recommendation he gave us from restaurants to excursions were spot on and made our trip even more enjoyable. The ATV through the mountains and Marlin del Rey catamaran tour were favorites.

We honestly don’t have a single complaint. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. We highly recommend this home to anyone looking for the perfect place to stay!!

Beautiful modern villa, perfectly equipped and ideally located a few minutes' walk from Tamarindo Beach, restaurants and shops. Everything is designed for comfort: large kitchen, huge fridge, washing machine, superb swimming pool and a magnificent outdoor shower.

The location is really perfect for enjoying Tamarindo without needing a car.

A big thank you to Jason and Kathy, who were incredibly kind, available, and gave very good advice throughout the stay, with excellent recommendations for restaurants and activities.

Monkeys literally in our backyard trees.3 separate Villa rooms in addition to the main home and bedroom. All rooms have a master with comfortable beds, views and privacy. Location was ideal tucked away yet super close to everything. Beach was a 3ish minute walk. Highly suggest getting in the water at sunset 10/10.

Jason also personally checked us in, responded to questions and gave great recommendations during our stay. We had kids ages 13-18 and grandparents and everyone felt at home and had what they needed. We utilized the kitchen, outdoor living and pool everyday. And of course my kids will be talking about the resident howler monkeys and iguanas forever. Simple and will totally stay again.

I booked Villa Roya for my bachelorette weekend and I couldn’t be happier with how it went. From the moment we booked about 2 months prior to the trip Jason & Kathy were already so proactive with recommendations & answering our questions. They helped us with recs to book a chef, adventure tour & secure a golf cart (highly recommend for getting around Tamarindo & they dropped it off to us!) - the villa itself was absolutely stunning, so much so that one night we skipped going out to hangout poolside at the villa. Upon arrival there were balloons & decorations already set up for my bachelorette and it was the sweetest touch. They messaged us daily with additional recommendations like breakfast/lunch spots or the tamarindo farmers market that was going on. They were wonderful hosts and you should absolutely enjoy Villa Roya if you get the chance to!

This is an absolutely beautiful place, gated with trees behind it where we could watch the monkeys. Having 3 casitas, a pool, and large common space worked perfectly for our extended family. The town and beach were an easy walk. The hosts responded very quickly to all communications and offered many tips on restaurants and activities. We highly recommend this home and the hosts.

Jason was an incredible host that went above and beyond with recos tailored to our family. As a bonus, we even got an early morning visit from a troupe of Howler monkeys!

Location, location, location! We couldn't have picked a better place or a better location. Pictures don't do it justice and the walkability to the beach, markets and restaurants couldn't have been better. Located just outside the noise of the busy night life as well. We had howler monkeys visit and most of our mornings were spent on the deck taking pictures of them and listening to them as we drank coffee. The beach and some of the best restaurants are literally across the street. Jason and Kathy went above with not only recommendations but also reservations. One of our best stays to date.

They went above and beyond, providing what felt like full concierge service—helping with reservations, recommendations, and local insights. Every suggestion was spot on and added to an already incredible experience.

Myself and a couple of college friends rented out this Villa for Spring Break. We had an absolutely amazing time, the property is beautiful, modern, clean, safe, and looks exactly like the pictures. We all felt completely safe and comfortable there. Jason and Kathy constantly sent recommendations of beaches, restaurants, nightlife, and any time we had a question they were right on it. I would absolutely love to stay here again, Jason and Kathy are incredible hosts!

The short story on this property is that you will find it to be everything as advertised AND more. The hosts are exceptional and so kind. They really care about your overall experience and make fantastic recommendations. If possible, the house is even better than the photos. It’s beautiful and is impeccably appointed. The ability to walk to town and Langosta Beach is a big plus, but when you are on property you are in your own oasis. And don’t get me started on the wildlife - the howler monkeys and the birds. So fun to just watch them from the patio. This was a fantastic experience all the way around and I can’t recommend this rental and the owners highly enough.

Can not recommend Villa Roya enough! We have been to CR many times, but this was our first time staying in Tamarindo. From the time of booking to the day we departed CR, Jason and Kathy were incredible hosts. They were very helpful in finding a lot of hidden gems in town, and if we had any questions were extrememly responsive. During our stay we had some issues with power and water due to a power line outside of the property. Jason and Kathy not only resolved the issue quickly, but even came to the house to make sure they oversaw everything that was being done to solve the issue. If you are looking for a relaxing and beautiful place to call home in Tamarindo, this is it! Thank you again Jason & Kathy! It was a magical week!

Jason's home is exceptional. It was so peaceful and beautiful to hang out on the patio near the pool, that we often relaxed at home rather than going out. The activities that were immediately available included long walks on the beach, getting massages a mere 2 minutes from home, a range of water activities, restaurants, and music and entertainment. The layout of the property was perfect for our extended family. We had the luxury of privacy in our separate 1 bedroom cabanas, and wonderful communal spaces. The kitchen is the best equipped of any AirBnB I have stayed at. Jason communicated daily - checking in to make sure we were happy, offering great restaurants and activities. And he was the kindest host I ever had - ever sending us a delicious cake on a day that our family had a special celebration. His generosity, kindness, attentiveness, and friendliness were deeply appreciated. and enhances our trip. We had the best vacation of our lives.

There is a reason Villa Roya is a Guest Favorite. Jason & Kathy are the consummate hosts. They were responsive to every question, they were proactive in providing recommendations to activities occurring in town, even making reservations for dinner. Every recommendation was fantastic! Jason & Kathy went above and beyond when they sought a partial refund for us, on their own, when our transportation didn’t meet expectations. Jason & Kathy are by far, the best hosts we ever had with AirBnB.

Separately, the Villa is stunning! It was the perfect property for my family, with 3 adult children. The 3 separate casitas offered privacy for them, while allowing us to still be together. The pool was refreshing after a day at the beach. The main house offers ample space for everyone. Beautifully decorated and comfortable. The kitchen is everything a chef could dream. And the beds and linens were sleep inducing! The location, perfect. Two mins to the beach, five mins to town. Yet, secluded & quiet.

My family and I had a fantastic stay! The house was very clean, beautiful, and even better than the photos. My family felt completely at home, and we couldn’t have asked for a better stay.

Jason was an amazing host. Every morning he sent thoughtful recommendations for things to do, like Taco Tuesday spots and local activities, which made our stay even better. He was incredibly responsive and always willing to help. Before we arrived, I mentioned that it was my brother’s birthday, and Jason went above and beyond by surprising us with a cake and a bottle of champagne, such a sweet and thoughtful gesture. We would absolutely love to stay here again if we return to Tamarindo.

Jason and Josue were fantastic hosts. Very communicative, easy to contact with any questions and very helpful. The property was also amazing for our family of 8. The beautiful grounds felt private, it was very clean and felt luxurious. For proximity, it’s close to beach and town. Yes there is construction down the street but we never felt bothered by it. Highly recommend Villa Roya!!

It was a perfect place for four couples to spend a relaxing week in CR. The location was perfect and easily walkable to town and the beach.

Jason and Kathy’s Airbnb was perfect and just as described. Jason was the most hospitable host I’ve ever had in an Airbnb. Very responsive and knowledgable. He met us to let us in and gave us a tour of the property. Anything else we asked of him, he was able to supply an answer about surroundings and things to do. There is a lot of construction around the villa so we had to do Ubers to get around but we were so close to everything that if the driveway was walkable, we would have just walked to everything. A golf cart is the perfect solution as well and Jason was able to link us with companies to retrieve one. Even when the original rec was booked he found another and reached out to them for us. Hands down, best host I’ve ever encountered.

Beautiful and extremely clean and well maintained home. Loved the pool. Jason was extremely responsive and went above and beyond to address anything that was of concern. Highly recommend.

We absolutely loved Villa Roya. We are a family of 6 and the casitas made it easy for almost everyone to have their own space. The location is fantastic - under 5 mins to the beach and less than 20 minutes to the other end of town. We were able to walk out each morning and grab breakfast and be back in 15 mins. The house had everything you need in a rental plus very thoughtful touches that you don’t always get.

The best part was the proactive recommendations and the quick responses from Jason. We were greeted pre arrival with all the check in information and recommendations on restaurants to grab lunch in town. Each morning we received a note with suggestions on things to do in town and out, restaurant recommendations and the best places to grab drinks at sunset.

Prior to our arrival Jason had lots of suggestions on excursions in town and out of town, so setting up plans was very easy if you wanted to.

This is a great spot - perfect for a large family like ours or couples.

Our group of 6 had a wonderful stay at Villa Roya! The photos don't show how beautiful the property really is. We had 4 teen boys with us and they loved having the casitas and a little private space at the end of the day. The kitchen was stocked well enough for us to make meals and enjoy the outdoor dining space. The pool was enjoyed at the end of each day and our teens loved using the little speaker that was provided, such a nice little touch. The location is so close to everything, the beach really is just a short walk across the street and town is minutes away. Jason and Josue were easily reached with any questions we had and always offered suggestions for things to do and places to eat. We will definitely be back for another stay at Villa Roya.

Perfect 50th Birthday Girls’ Getaway!

We recently stayed at this incredible vacation home to celebrate our 50th birthdays — 8 girls, one unforgettable trip! The entire property was absolutely stunning. The grounds are beautifully maintained, the pool was perfect for lounging and laughing, and the villas were quiet, clean, and beyond comfortable. The beds felt like heaven after long days of fun in the sun!

We especially loved the open-air showers and the outdoor showers — such a luxurious and relaxing touch. Jason and Kathy were phenomenal hosts. They messaged us almost every day with thoughtful recommendations for excursions, restaurants, and local gems. Their friendliness and attention to detail truly made the experience even more special.

This house was amazing! Truly at great set up for a group of adults or families wanting their own space but also a place to hang out together. The owners were super helpful and took great care of us the entire stay! We had a few hiccups on the trip and they there extremely fast on responding and getting the issues resolved. They even bought us dinner and drinks one night for a few small inconveniences. This house by far has been the most time we spent at the actual house in during a vacation. Beautiful and relaxing.
