Located just 200 meters from the beach, this new, modern beach house sits in a quiet neighborhood between Puerto Viejo and Cocles. The beach is a two-minute walk away, with cafés, restaurants, the sound of waves, modern amenities, and security all nearby.
The Space
The Surf Shack is designed to highlight the beauty of its natural surroundings while providing modern comfort and convenience.
The main living area features 20-foot ceilings, and every room has a powerful ceiling fan to keep tropical breezes circulating throughout the house. For warmer days, air-conditioning units are available in each bedroom and in the main living space.
A sparkling freshwater pool provides a refreshing escape from the tropical heat and a pleasant view from the outdoor areas. Hammocks on the front terrace offer a comfortable place to enjoy the breeze, watch for wildlife, and sip a cold drink.
Wildlife sightings are common. Guests may see sloths crossing the front yard, iguanas, a variety of birds, and monkeys, which can often be heard and spotted nearby.

We had a great stay. Everything is exactly as pictured. The location is perfect, private but still incredibly close to the hub of puerto viejo. Hosts are super responsive + helpful. Would book again!

It was exactly as described. It was a perfect setting for experiencing Costa Rica for the first time. The house had all we need for our family of 4. The close proximity to restaurant and beaches was perfect.

Romslig hus, og veldig kjekt med det fine bassenget. Huset ligger nært sentrum, men nærområdet oppfattes likevel som stille og rolig. Vertene er hjelpsomme og svarer raskt.

The hosts were very responsive. The place really needs some updating and insect fumigation. I understand being in the jungle you're going to have bugs, but the amount we dealt with was a little much. There is a inch and a half gap under the door, so things will find their way in. The location and the pool were great. We also felt really safe during our stay. The AC was great when we needed to cool down.

Olivia and Julian were extremely helpful and quick to respond to any questions. They also went above and beyond to share local spots and info before we arrived. The location was perfect. It was walking distance to most things, shopping restaurants and the markets. We ate most meals in to save some $$. The property was private and felt very intimate for our small group. The split a/c units worked GREAT! We followed the rules and turned all the units off when we were out, but they cooled down quick!! We did have a car so we were able to drive a little ways to some better grocery spots and beach areas for surfing. We would stay again, for sure!

Un lugar precioso, tal como en las fotos. Es fácil hacer todo a pie pues es muy céntrico, además es una casa muy acogedora y cómoda. Realmente nos fuimos deseando volver. Los anfitriones súper atentos.
