3BR Villa in Sayulita

Excellent, 4 months ago

Great stay! Thank you!

We had an incredible time at Casa Mango! It is absolutely fabulous all around. The house is beautiful and the setting is incredible. We loved the pool, having a golf cart to scoot around (a real highlight!) and the kitchen, linens, etc are well appointed. Notes for families: the upstairs is not safe for small children, but Michele warned us and we made it work with our group. Also the top floor is somewhat of a separate unit, as it has its own locking door. So you may not want to have children and parents on different floors. There are two bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs. Also the rooms downstairs have locking metal grates on them so that helped assure us that our toddler wouldn’t wander out to the pool in the middle of the night. Also note that beach towels are provided for the pool but there are no beach supplies provided (i.e. umbrella and chairs). But there are lots of affordable cabanas to rent by the day at the main beach so it’s not really an issue. Highly recommend!

The best airbnb experience I have had so far. The place is beautiful and exceeded our already high expectations. Michele was very responsive and helpful. We were a group of six and found the place extremely comfortable. Each room had their own full bathroom which was very convenient . Short walk to town, and very private. I would highly recommend this stay!

Host Response

Hi Matias, I cannot respond to a private feedback but the cleaners did not find your glasses. They are very thorough and honest and I would have gladly mailed them back to you. You may have left them somewhere else. Sorry

Casa Mango was the perfect retreat for our family Christmas vacation. It was a little farther up than other homes on "Gringo Hill" but it kept it quieter at night and the walk (or golf cart ride) was easy. It has great mountain views from all 3 rooms and the pool was such at great retreat from a long day in the city or beach. Michele was always responsive to all my questions and provided recommendations for an airport shuttle, restaurants and stores. Sayulita was a perfect blend of getting to experience some local Mexican culture while still feeling that you are welcome as a tourist. Can't wait to come back. Gracias Michele!

Really great experience at this Sayulita Airbnb. Wonderful location, tucked just up the hill from the town plaza area. Immaculately clean upon arrival. Great pool, which is was large, warm, and exceptionally clean. The palapa upstairs area is great, and we enjoyed watching the evening thunderstorms from up there. Host is very responsive, with great communication both before arrival and during the stay. Yes, the hill that is mentioned by other reviewers is fairly steep, but the presence of the included golf cart completely offsets that. It was a lot of fun to zip up and down into town using the cart. Overall great experience!

We had a great family vacation at Casa Mango, love the privacy of the pool area we spent most of our time there, the pool is of great size and truly enjoyed playing games, swimming and just fun! Plenty of shade for relaxing as well, the home itself is very comfortable, everything you need towels, full kitchen, 1 master suite downstairs and plenty of space in the living room and kitchen, there is an additional kitchenette with living room ( open area great for morning coffee or evening wine) and 2 fully independent suites upstairs, great setup to have the privacy when needed. The host is amazing, quickly responding to any questions made our arrival very smooth, we got there and were in the pool within minutes ! Love the fact that the house included the golf car( which can be expensive to rent ) that is such a great deal, even though the home is very close to town just being able to come and go quickly made our stay even better.

Host Response

Thank you Dulce.

We had the most amazing time at Michele’s place! The space was exactly as pictured — clean, stylish, and perfectly located. Just a short drive to the beach, cute cafes, and all the vibrant energy Sayulita is known for, but still tucked away enough to feel peaceful and private. The A/C worked great, the WiFi was reliable, and the rooftop terrace was a total highlight — we spent mornings drinking coffee up there and evenings. The golf cart was an amazing add-on! Sayulita is such a special place, and staying here made the experience even more magical. Can’t wait to come back!

We had a great stay at Michele's place! The house was beautiful, well-stocked, and had everything we needed. There was plenty of space to relax, and the upstairs hangout area was especially fun. We did experience a power outage one night, which was a hiccup—so giving 4 stars instead of 5. But overall, we'd definitely recommend staying here!

Host Response

Power outages in Mexico during stormy season sadly happen and I am sorry. I did reimburse you for one night which should have helped. I suspect like most people you don't know what a 4 star rating is so I am sending it to you in your email as this platform doesn't let me add an attachment.

This is by far one of my favorite experiences in booking through Airbnb. Stop looking! I spent hours trying to find the perfect location for my family! This is it! My teenage boys said 10 out of 10!! Michele’s home is spacious, clean, and relaxing. The rooms were spacious with private restrooms. Pool is clean and relaxing with a waterfall. The outdoor living space was breathtaking. The town is down the hill and Michele provides excellent recommendations that were right on point. I was impressed with her quick response to all of our questions ! This Book it and enjoy your stay!! I can’t wait to visit beautiful Sayulita again!

Host Response

Thank you Ruth. Hope to see you again.

Michele’s house was absolutely stunning! The home was beautifully furnished and had all the comforts of home. Beautiful views from every room. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you might need. The beds were comfortable. It was also great to have a golf cart to use to get to the town. Michele was very helpful and accommodating. Michele also got back to me quickly with answers to my questions. We were a family of 6 and it was the perfect place to stay. I’d definitely come back!!!

The house is very spacious and you can have three couples or a large family stay there without running in to each others! Every room has his air conditioner which you need there. The pool was nice but we never really swam because the water was super warm/hot! The beach is 10-12 min walk by feet. It is not recommended for people with strollers! Very steep! Also at nights the one area is super dark! You shouldn’t walk by yourself! Sayulita is a town for young and partying people. But the end of the beach if you walk down on the right is pretty empty and nice! Rough waters! Great for surfers! We all enjoyed it and it’s our daughters favorite place! Michele was was checking on us and she is a great host. They provide a golf cart which is great. We didn’t use it the first 4 days or so but then if you wanted to do things faster it was super convenient! There are a lot of golf cart drivers and great places to eat! Enjoy your stay in this quiet location of the town.

Host Response

Thank you for your feedback. However I suspect that like most people you are not familiar with the Airbnb star rating so here's a copy and paste that explains it: A 4-star review on Airbnb, while positive, is not considered ideal and can negatively impact a host's overall rating, potentially leading to listing suspension or removal. While guests might view 4 stars as "very good," Airbnb's system interprets it as a negative, especially when it impacts the overall rating. From what I understand the only negative experience you had was difficulty using a stroller. In most Mexican villages roads are cobbled and therefore rough, reason why we leave a golfcart at the house for guests to use. I also checked with my property manager to make sure he turned off the pool heater and he confirmed he did about a month ago so if the pool was too warm that's because the weather is hot at this time of year and that should not impact me negatively. Anyway the 4 star implies the house has several major issues which according to your feedback is not the case so if you are open to change it I would really appreciate. Thank you

As a super host and the owner of multiple Airbnbs, I must say that this was an incredible home. The casita sprawls across two levels, each bedroom being private and comfortable with ensuite washrooms. There are multiple common seating areas, one for dinning, one for games and cards and another for evening drinks and watching the views. The pool is pleasantly heated and the yard is beautifully designed with lots of plants and decor. This is a perfect spot for 3 couples who want to have privacy but also be in the same home. I will certainly visit again!

If you’re looking for a fantastic place to stay while visiting Sayulita, stop looking. This is it. My husband and I spent four nights here with her four children. We all wished it could’ve been longer. The house is massive, the pool was a big selling point for the kids, the golf cart was clutch getting to and from town, and everything we needed was within arms reach. We’re saving this house for future visits. We can’t wait to come back. Five very big stars.

Casa Mango is up in the hills with beautiful Mountain views. The outdoor/indoor concept was so relaxing. So many outdoor spaces to lounge, relax and enjoy nature. I’m glad we rented a golf cart as the hills are steep. The house is equipped with everything and communication with Michele was quick and easy. Pool was amazing to relax by and swim. The only thing I wish I knew is that the three bedrooms are very separate. One room is downstairs in main house. The other two are outside, up the stairs and across an outdoor patio space. This is great for couples as stated but as an overprotective mother who likes to be in earshot of her children, it was an adjustment for us. I ended up not sleeping in one of the bedrooms and slept with my daughter. This is a personal issue for me and nothing against the layout. I just wish some reviews were more specific so we could have based our decision off that. But I would definitely recommend Casa Mango and come back and stay again! (When kids are older)

Michele’s Casa Mango is an absolute must visit location. The home is conveniently located a few minutes walk from the downtown of Sayulita. It is the perfect, short distance away giving some privacy and offering convenience. Casa Mango is a dream. The three bedrooms feel like separate living spaces each accompanied by a bathroom. There is the palapa upstairs which is beautiful and incredibly spacious. The downstairs living room is spacious, cozy and has everything you need. The pool and outside is also large and just so lovely. I cannot recommend this place more. Michele is a supportive, responsive and proactive host. There were a couple glitches like internet being slow and Michele was on it within minutes. Michele is the ideal host. Casa Mango is the ideal location and aesthetic. Just wow!!! I hope to go back someday.

Host Response

Thank you Kerry. You too were delightful. Glad to know you had a good time.

One of our favorite AirBnBs. We were in town for the Los Muertos celebration- what a weekend! The town was bustling and alive with music, culture, food, and Casa Mango was a little paradise up the hill to get away from the action and relax! The pool area was perfect, the indoor/outdoor showers were a highlight as well! The palapa living room with views of the hills was a highlight as well. Beds were very comfortable, kitchen had all that we needed. Owner has gone above and beyond to ensure comfort of their guests. We'll be back- would love to show more of our family/friends this little paradise! Our pup was happy and secure in the backyard, neighbors were lovely.

Host Response

Thank you for being so kind.

Michele’s place was absolutely amazing! It was perfect for our group of 3 couples, everyone had their own private space with a beautiful common space to share. We spent lots of time in the pool and lounging in the indoor/outdoor top level space. The location was nice but a little far to walk from town uphill. However we rented a golf cart on our first day and that solved that issue! Michele was a wonderful host, incredibly thoughtful and communicative and was super helpful to resolve a power outage issue we had on our first day. Would definitely stay here again!

Host Response

Hi Jacklyn, It was a pleasure to host you and your overall opinion may indeed be that the house deserves a 4 star. However a lot of people are not familiar with the Airbnb star rating. The true meaning of a 4 star rating is that the house, not only is far from perfect but has several issues that need to be addressed. The only issue we had was a neighborhood power cut, which we had nothing to do with. I assume that's what you meant by giving a 4 star to the check in. I thought that reimbursing you for one night would make up for that. The rating is simply stating our expectation that we want our guests to tell us if anything is lacking, reassuring them we're here to help and want them to have a 5 star experience. We would truly appreciate your feedback to see what was lacking in your stay so we can address the issues. Thank you Michele

This is a beautiful home. It sits on a hill overlooking a valley. The pool area is wonderful - our children ended every day in the pool with the sun setting behind the palms. The interior is stylish and comfortable. We like to cook and the kitchen is fully stocked with equipment. We visited during Semana Santa, so Sayulita was quite busy, but it still wasn't as crowded as better-know tourist destinations. There are plenty of good restaurants to choose from and we never had much of a wait. The home is on a hill - which we and our children enjoyed walking - but if mobility is an issue for you then you can rent a golf cart. A lot of people use them. Michele was extremely responsive. Michele also recommended an excellent driver to take us to and from the airport (including a stop at a huge grocery store on the way in), and he can also apparently rent you a golf cart, but we just enjoyed walking. My family highly recommends this beautiful home and the relaxing town of Sayulita.

Casa Mango was awesome, and Michele was a great and attentive host throughout the stay. We had a lot of friends and friends and family in town for a wedding so we got to tour several other of the top rated vacation rentals in Sayulita and Casa Mango by far had the best view, best pool, and was like two blocks from downtown. It was a great deal for the price.

We had a great stay at Michele’s house. The pool and the privacy of the house make it a great place to relax yet be close enough to walk into town. Definitely will be staying again on our next visit to Sayulita

We absolutely loved our stay at Casa Mango. We plan to return to Sayulita and would consider coming back! Michele was very reachable and helpful, she arranged transportation and answered questions quickly. The power went out several times (neighborhood wide) and she was able to chat with neighbors to help us figure it out. The only thing I would warn people about is the steep climb from town. It is a very walkable location, but if you’re traveling with a stroller or elderly, it might be too much of a trek up the hill. The steep part is a little less than half a mile. But at the bottom of the hill there’s lots of restaurants, bars, the market, shopping.

Host Response

Hi Hailey, thanks for your review. I noticed that cleanliness was a 4 star and since we just hired a new cleaner I was wondering if you could give me some specifics so we could correct that. thx

Absolutely amazing place! Perfect location and walkable to everything. It is up a short hill which we climbed multiple times a day (often with food/drink provisions) with no problem. My friend who recently broke his foot sometimes chose to grab a taxi up the hill which is also so easy, and there are always golf cart options as well. The house is huge, beautiful, with great views. The only problem with the house is that its so amazing, you almost don't have motivation to leave it! Another huge game changer was the unlimited filtered water provided in the house. Michele is a great host, always responded to me within minutes and was also able to set us up with very easy no-stress transport from the airport which ended up being much less than the taxi that one of our friends who arrived later had to get. Will absolutely book again next time we come!

Host Response

Thank you Joanna. I wish I had been there to meet your group.

Casa Mango is the perfect place for a little getaway with friends or family. It’s a short walk to the center of town with an amazing view. Michele and Gladis were great hosts, they extremely kind in helping set us up with everything we needed and making our stay special. The place is above and beyond with things you don’t normally see in an Airbnb like laundry detergent, beach chairs, even medications for food related illnesses. Highly recommend!

this is my second time staying at Casa Mango. i love it there for many reasons - everyone that stays there has their own quarters as in their own balcony, room, and bathroom. even the main house has their own bathroom. the only negative feedback i have is that the house needs a deep clean. lots of spiderwebs, dust everywhere and overall just a little dirty. the sheets had some stains on them that should probably be renewed, and the floors just weren’t up to standard in terms of being clean. overall i loved my stay here as always, and Michele is one of the best hosts i’ve had on airbnb. she is great at communicating and extremely accommodating, you will love your stay at Casa Mango.

Host Response

I just talked to Gladis and she says the house had a deep clean the week prior to your arrival. Mexican towns are very dusty and you could remove the dust several times a day. Since you arrived a day late the house had been cleaned the day before which may explain the dust. As to the stains on the sheets, these are tiny rust stains caused by the humidity of the tropical climate. They resist any laundry detergent so I can assure you the sheets were clean. This is the worst review I have in 16 years of operation.

We loved Casa Mango! All three rooms are big and modern and have nice views. The pool was delightful, and we loved all of the common spaces, especially the upstairs terrace. The AC worked very well, too. In terms of location, the house is just a few minutes up the hill from town, a walk that was well worth it given the view from the house. One thing to note is that two of the bedrooms have partially-outdoor bathrooms. The bathrooms are huge and very nice, but they are also exposed to the elements, including bugs at night. We found that if we left our lights off leading into the evening, the bugs weren't too bad. We would definitely come back!

Staying at Michele’s house in Sayulita was one of the best travel experiences we’ve ever had. We traveled with 5yo and 8yo kids and my 74yo mom. The house is even more stunning than the pictures; it has a great layout and was beautifully decorated. The pool was incredible. We felt very secure. We loved the location on the hill and would walk into town a couple of times/day (about 10 mins to walk to town and another 5 mins to the beach). The walk back is a little hike, and the streets are cobblestones, so we would usually get a taxi for my mom (about $5). The kids saw lots of iguanas, birds, roosters. We appreciated retreating to the house on the hill every night and being out of the hustle and bustle. The house worked perfectly for our family, and our kids loved it. It’s not toddler- or baby-proofed so might not be ideal for families with much smaller kids, which Michele had told us. The upstairs bedrooms do have their own entrance outside the front of the house, but it’s still within a locked courtyard, so it worked well. Michele was a responsive and thoughtful host, answering all of our pre-travel questions. We were lucky to get to interact with the property manager, Gladis, who is an absolute gem. We will definitely be back, hopefully for longer.

Host Response

Thank you Matt. Your family was also a gem!

Great spot! Clean and responsive host.

What a beautiful home! So perfect for our group. We loved the separate bedrooms and baths, the open areas for gathering, the beautiful decor and of course, the pool! Michele was great to work with, communication was always prompt and we felt very comfortable during our entire stay. Highly recommend!

Host Response

I am so sorry about the hot water in that one bath. I always ask guests to contact me asap if there is a problem. This was an easy fix, probably the pilot light went off on the water heater. We take care of anything immediately. You should have told me.

Skip the hotels and book Michele’s home ASAP. The value is incredible. The home/ property is better than the description. 1. Location is perfect. A five minute walk from town makes getting around without a car EASY. Yes, the hill to and from town is steep. We walked down and on a few occasions took a taxi back up. The house is also far enough from town to escape the noise and truly enjoy some peace and quiet. 2. The view is awesome. Every bedroom looks out on the town and the vast woods. 3. The pool is so refreshing and so so so clean. 4. The entire property is clean, well maintained and thoughtfully decorated. 5. You will find a few spiders and spider webs outside. Nature as it is. Just keep your eyes peeled :). Thank you again Michele!

Host Response

Thank you Alexis. You are so sweet. I wish I had been there to meet you. We also rent the apartment above the garage called Casita Palapa on Airbnb. It is now rented till the end of February just in case you don't need a large place. Hope to see you one day.

Great house! We will be back.

Beautiful setup and super clean. Easy to communicate with and very helpful host. Pool was great and overall a great stay. The only minor hiccup was we lost water a couple of times. Not quiet sure what happened but the care taker fixed it after 15-20min. So guessing it was related to house plumbing rather than supply problems.

Host Response

The village is having big water supply problems, too much building and not enough infrastructure so we have to buy water when we run out.

This house is amazing! Casa Mango exceeded our expectations to say the least. The house was big enough for a much needed getaway. Loved the private restrooms in each bedroom, the decor, the location and the amazing communication with Michelle. Also, highly recommend the transportation service that is offer from the airport and back, worth the additional expense (we didn’t do a round trip but our driver took us to a second destination after our stay at casa mango). Can’t wait to go back!

We loved our time in Sayulita and in this house. Michele was incredibly helpful and quick in her responses. The house was beautiful, clean, and well designed, with multiple large spaces for hanging out and enjoying a cocktail. The pool was the perfect temperature and was well maintained and clean. The location was perfect, a quick 5-10 minute walk from the heart of Sayulita. We would definitely stay here again.

This place is heaven on earth. Absolutely a stunning place to stay with excellent access to all Sayulita has to offer. We will be back!

Host Response

Hi Jeremy, Thanks for your feedback. The pool heater is on only from mid November to the end of March as per description of the house on the Airbnb listing. The other rental unit has a different code. I will have Gladis check that and call the locksmith to rectify in case it opens to the same code. Sorry.

This house is magic! Spacious, clean and beautiful. It would comfortably fit 6 people (we were only 3) and still allow everyone to have their own space. Great dining area and outdoor living space. Peaceful and lovely. The area is great too, out of town so it isn't noisy or crowded but close enough to be easy walking distance for supplies. Recommend stopping at a supermarket on the way from the airport so you don't have to carry heavier items. Loved it and had a wonderful stay.

This place is awesome. Pool is perfect, rooms are secluded and the location was great. Highly recommend. See y’all soon!

Casa mango was a comfortable base for our group of 6 to spend a week’s vacation in Sayulita. Clean & well stocked kitchen & plenty of clean towels. Drinking water provided. Bring shampoo & conditioner as only soap is provided in bathrooms. Lots of great patio furniture & open air spaces to enjoy. Beautiful pool, owner was working on installing a heating system so that should be available soon. Very walkable to main streets of Sayulita with lots of shopping & dining options. Good security. Weak WiFi but we understood that’s pretty typical for Sayulita. Would definitely recommend!

The house is beautiful and the stay was amazing. The only drawback we had was that the water didn't go out so hot in one of the showers however it was no major inconvenience. The house is spacious, very comfortable and very nice. We were all set!

Host Response

Hi Alejandra. Which shower doesn't have hot water? When there is a problem you can call me or Gladis, the manager because everything is perfectly functional. Sorry

Casa Mango is a great house and great location. It's at the top of the hill away from the hustle and bustle of the town, but you're back down into town in 5 minutes of walking (using the secret steps (38 of them)) which shaves off a few minutes from following the road the whole way down. Another couple of minutes and you're at the beach! Great exercise getting to the house, but you can also rent a golf cart. We absolutely loved it!

We had an amazing time. There was no issues whats soever everything was perfect, i slept like a child, the pool was amazing, the beds were comfortable i love that there was a tv for the kids even tho we didn’t really use it much. The pool was amazing we saw lizards and birds and it was magical. The energy in the house is perfect. And the best part we were able to take our furrkids! I am def coming back we need this type of places were we can just relax and feel like at home i recommend it 100%. Also if you like ceviche GLADYS can make it super good, make sure to leave her a good tip as she is amazing. Communication was excellent. Our dogs and my nephews were amazed! No cellphone or tablets needed!

Great place!

My family and I stayed at Casa Mango for 4 days for my moms 60th birthday trip. We had a blast. There are 3 bedrooms each with their own bathroom so it's perfect for 3 couples. There is also a bathroom downstairs for everyone to use. The taps in the 3rd bedroom (far end of the 2nd floor) are backwards (hot on the right, cold on the left) and the hot water takes awhile to get there so be patient, it will come. Everything you need is there including spices, tons of cookware, bbq, coffee maker, etc. Town is only about 5 minutes away. The walk back is steep but if you are in decent shape, it's fine. Gladys met us at the home and gave us a tour and showed us how everything worked. She was quite lovely and very helpful. We had an amazing time there and will definitely be staying again. Michele was awesome and very responsive. Thanks for everything. My family and I really enjoyed your home!!!

Host Response

Thank you Monica. A 15% discount should you decide to return and everything will be working.

The house is very nice but not as comfortable as it might seem. There were several details that were not to our liking, such as the poor condition of the terrace on one of the upstairs bedrooms (according to the cleaning lady the ceiling was dangerously in disrepair). The pool does not have heating, I mean it is completely unusable in winter, the water was freezing and in winter in Sayulita it is not so hot so it was not at all comfortable, we could not let the children swim, this was what we disliked the most, it was as if there was no pool. In the bathtubs there are no curtains or window, only a lattice and you can see towards the street, zero privacy and very cold. The man in charge of pool maintenance came in unannounced on two occasions in the garden, on one occasion to cut the grass and in another to clean the pool without asking if there was no inconvenience, we wore pets and if we had not been there we could have escaped. The two bedrooms that are on the upper floor do not have access from the inside or you have to leave the house to come up and be closing and opening with key due to security concerns, besides that there are too many keys that need to be used for all the doors of the house (approximately 15). The day we arrived the cleaning wasn't complete yet, at 6pm. That same day we arrived there was no hot water in the new room and the water pressure right there was very bad throughout our stay. The house rental is not cheap for what they offer for what they offer. Great place to visit, Sayulita. But for all the above, I don't recommend this place.

Host Response

Ricardo, we just arrived in Sayulita and she's right for everything. There was a house remodel in Sietembre and October and there are many issues. Workers need to return to repair. Everything he said is short. I am so sorry about a 15% discussion if they return

This house is absolutely gorgeous. In a great location close to town yet removed enough to give you peace and quiet. It’s easy to walk down into town but you might want to take a cab back up as the stairs and hills are steep. The backyard is beautiful and the pool is well-maintained. It’s a great place to go with family or friends as the bedrooms are all separated from the actual house. Everybody has their own private space and bathroom. The concierge Gladys is an absolute sweetheart. The hospitality is great.

Host Response

Thank you for your nice review. I will definitely let the guests know that the gardener and pool guy come a couple of times a week. Miguel, the pool guy is a sweetheart. He has been taking care of the pool since we started and has been very helpful to many guests. As to the switches labeling is a great idea. Glad you enjoyed your stay.
