12BR Home in Mexico City

Excellent, 1 month ago

Awesome! Perfect for the occasion.

Everything was perfectly coordinated upon arrival. The directions were clear. All the people in charge of the place were super friendly and always in a good mood. It was a very cozy place.

We stayed here with friends for a bachelor event, and Deicy was amazing to work with she helped us plan out our itinerary and made the whole experience seamless. The private space was a huge plus, and the location was excellent. Fantastic spot for a big group to stay. Only minor complaints: there’s no AC, so it can get quite hot, and there weren’t enough fans to go around for all the rooms. The bathrooms are also dorm-style, which was fine but a bit limited on privacy. Overall, would highly recommend booking here! Loved our stay.

Great for a large group, really good value considering the space (tons of beds) and location.

We were a big group of 20 guys and had an unforgettable time at the Casa Kanbari! Check in was easy and communication before and during the reservation was very friendly, clear and helpful. The location is perfectly central walking distance to many bars, restaurants, clubs, parks, late night tacos and basically anything you would like explore while visiting Mexico City. The space is somewhat utilitarian, but was comfortable with plenty of beds and secure with a 24/7 front desk attendant. Some bonus items offered by the host included tours, meals, bartender, etc. We booked a bartender for the first night and breakfast for 2 of our mornings' stay. The delicious breakfast offering really took it to the next level as there was nothing better than coming up to the roof after a long night of partying and being greeted with a hot cup of coffee, chilaquiles, fresh fruit and pastries! We had an amazing trip and really appreciated all of the friendly, top notch service that Casa Kanbari offered.

We had a group of 16 friends stay here for a long weekend. It was perfect for us. Going into it we knew it was a hostel so bathrooms and showers were shared which did not bother us one bit. Showers were hot and what you expect for a hostel. There was someone there 24/7 to open the door for us which was nice with a group of 16 people. We didn’t have to worry about keys and coordinating opening the door. Neighborhood is super walkable as well which was great! They have a coffee shop literally downstairs. We also had the host coordinate a taco dinner and bartender which was perfect! Overall would stay there again.

I brought a group of 17 people there for 2.5 weeks. Daniel was incredible. Maria and Isabel were as sweet as can be. 5 stars for the cleaning crew and night crew. The owner David was incredibly kind and accommodating. The struggles that my team and I had were with the hostel managers, Aidee and Patricia. There was a lot of dishonest information coming my way from the start. They told me we could fit 20 yoga mats when we were tight at 14. Aidee hooked us up with a chef who was awful, and on night 1 the chef came 2 hours late. Aidee kept telling us they were 5 minutes away. For 2 hours! We communicated with Aidee and Patricia numerous times about the food and how bad it was. We were provided rotten and moldy food. They promised a refund and then on the last day denied it and wouldn't even let me see the contract. Then they got us gifts to bribe us and make sure we weren't mad. Untrustworthy managers who are not accommodating. Might be fine for a short stay.

Overall, we had a great experience as a group of 14. The staff was friendly and took good care of us. The location is central, close to most places we visited. The optional breakfast was very good and a welcome addition in the mornings. The one caveat to our experience was their concern about our noise levels at night, even though there didn't seem to be any neighbors nearby. Additionally, they were unwilling to cover one of the cameras on the top floor terrace, even though we had the entire place to ourselves. Despite these issues, I would choose this option again for a big group.

We booked the hostel for a bachelor party of 12 guys. It was great that everyone had their own bed. We also had room to spare with plenty of bathrooms. However, some of the single rooms on the second floor are extremely small (a bit larger than the size of the bed), but we made it work. The sheets weren't perfect, but again, we made it work. Also there was only soap in the showers, but we brought our own shampoo, so it wasn't a huge deal. Ultimately, this house is perfect for a large group, but expect a college dorm style stay. The best part of the house is the hosts, who are very responsive and willing to provide whatever you need - even a bartender for a very reasonable price! If you're looking for a place to accommodate a large party with a perfect location and large common spaces, this is the one.

We booked Casa Kanabri as part of a bachelorette trip to Mexico City and everyone found it to be a fabulous space! From the beginning, communicating with Maria was simple and straightforward, she was always responsive and helpful. At check-in, there was someone to greet us and show us the (many) rooms. We also didn't have to worry about security as there was always someone tending the door, day and night. The whole building is decorated in a fun yet tasteful way with lots of references to Mexico City and its culture. The terrace on the top floor was a great space to lounge in and chat before we headed out in the evenings. The patio downstairs was also a great place to just sit and relax in between activities. On the final night, we were able to arrange a private dinner with a bartender at the terrace through Deicy, the owner of the cafe downstairs. Deicy even brought us items to mix drinks with. It was all delicious and very affordable! I would absolutely stay here again.

Casa Kanabri was perfect for a bachelor party of 15 people. There were tons of rooms for us to spread out in and the rooftop area was perfect for hanging out day and night. The area is also excellent, right on the beautiful Reforma boulevard with easy access to the rapid buses and a short walk to the train at Insurgentes. The walk to Roma Norte is very nice from here as well. I'd highly recommend getting food service from the cafe on the first floor, they were able to provide some excellent mexican buffet breakfasts that really simplified our morning plans. We had an amazing time here and I can't thank them enough!

We came to Hostal Kanabri for a bachelor party and we loved our stay! such a perfect place for a large group. There was so much space, extra beds, and it was just so convenient overall. We also had some amazing meals from Deicy and her team, who own the cafe downstairs. Highly recommend working with them for breakfast or a dinner, and they will also help organize a bus to Xochimilco or buy lucha tickets for you. There is also someone working at the front desk at all times, so new keys or door codes needed, and we felt safe the entire time. Lastly, upstairs is an amazing view of the entire city, and the location is just so central to many neighborhoods. I don't think we could have picked a better spot, especially for a bachelor party. Thank you again Hostal Kabari team! we had such an amazing weekend.

Hostal Casa Kanabri was nothing short of amazing! The place is huge with 3 floors and an amazing staff. The host was very friendly very communicative. She also has a team that worked with us to plan a dinner the first night and two breakfast's the next two days. Not too mention Deicy and her team cooked some delicious food and lined up a bus for 15 of us to take out for the day! Everyone that worked there was really nice and made it easy to check in/and come and go as we please! Very safe! Lastly, the terrace is top notch! Extremely glad we stayed here! Excellent for big groups as they have soooo many rooms with beds. Thank you for everything!

We stayed here for a bachelor party, and this place was perfect. Everyone in our group got to have their own room. There's an awesome top floor kitchen / hang out area with a great view of the city. The hosts kept our fridge stocked with whatever we asked for and cooked us a delicious Mexican buffet breakfast. The showers aren't the best (it is a hostel when not being rented out to groups), but all in all, this place was a great experience and absolutely perfect for our needs. Would recommend!

I organized my brother's bachelor party here. Rented the whole spot for 12 guys. The host connected me with the owner of the cafe downstairs. Through the host/ cafe owner I was able to coordinate breakfast buffet each morning, drinks, a car and driver, a bartender, and tickets for Lucha Libre. The house worked great for a bunch of guys. La Reforma has parades or political protests on the street each morning. Not quiet but an amazing cultural start to the day. Place was clean, stylish. Individual room beds are not the most comfortable, a few of the bigger rooms were. Exactly what we needed. Thank you!

I booked this place for a bachelor party for 12 people and it was great. It definitely has a hostel feel (small rooms, shared bathrooms etc.) but it is perfect for a bachelor party or big group. The terrace is very nice and we used the meal service provided by the cafe downstairs three times and it was great every time. Easy walking distance to Roma Norte and can take quick Ubers to most of the places you probably want to visit.

We came down for a bachelor party with 11 guys and rented out the whole place. It was perfect for our group! Lots of rooms, great common areas, full kitchen, close proximity to lots of things, and we didn’t have to worry about being too loud or disturbing anyone around us. But, the thing that sets this place apart is the service - it’s fantastic! Juanita and the rest of the hostesses helped us out with so many things during the trip. Truly appreciated! The only negative we could call out is that the showers don’t really run hot consistently and the bathroom on the 3rd floor gets a bit smelly. Seems like maybe the drain under the urinal isn’t working properly. The hosts made sure it was cleaned every day though, so all good. Overall, exceeded all our expectations!

This was a great place to host a bachelor party! We LOVED the upper deck area. It's even better in person, and was the main gathering place for our stay. Esperanza helped us coordinate a breakfast on-site that was wonderful - tasty, and an incredible value. There is a large fridge to store drinks and food, and a well stocked kitchen. Many great spots in walking distance, and a protected bike lane with city bikes right out front. A few things to note: If you are expecting a completely private house, this is not the right fit. This is a true hostel - there are always staff on site, including a room where a staff person lives that is amongst the rest of the rooms (and onsite staff does not have a separate bathroom or shower). Some of the rooms are very small - fine for crashing after a long day, but not ideal if you have a lot of stuff or feel claustrophobic. We had a relatively small group so we just avoided these rooms or used them to stash our luggage. There is a vacant lot next door that looks like it may be under construction, although we did not hear any loud construction noises during our time. The benefit is added security, always someone around to answer questions or offer advice and someone on-site cleaning up after use of common spaces (a huge perk for large group gatherings!) Overall, I think this is a great spot! You won't find many other options so well suited for a large group.

Our stay was AMAZING! We rented the entire hostel out for a bachelor party and could not have had a better place to stay! The location was central to everything we wanted to do, and it was great to have all the amenities of a hostel and still have the whole place to ourselves with a full group! The upstairs balcony space is even better than the pictures show, and we loved being able to go up there and hang out before exploring the town! Hostel staff was extremely accommodating and did everything they could to help us with our stay and made us feel at home. They even helped us book some events and gave us local insight into some food trucks when asked! Couldn't have asked for a more helpful staff!

This establishment is amazing!!! The decor is fun and fits the theme of Mexico city so well. Frida Khalo and sugar skulls. Me and my party came for dia de muertos and the hostal and decor was a great start to an amazing weekend. The hostess went above and beyond her call of duty. I received a message every morning asking if I needed any assistance which was greatly appreciated. We booked the whole building to ourselves and we felt safe and comfortable the whole stay. This place is highly recommended. It is located in a great central location to everything in Mexico city! Please choose this place for your next stay.
