Such a peaceful location that is only a five minute drive from the beautiful Playa Carillo and 15 to Samara. We loved all the Halloween crabs that would scuttle out of the way on our drive to the beach, waking up to the sound of birds and howler monkeys. The kids loved the pool, the adults the deck. The house is stocked with everything you could need and more! Boogie boards, chairs and coolers for the beach and everything you could possibly need in the kitchen. David was super responsive about check in and flexible since we were driving from Monteverde and there was a lot of construction on the one. Thanks for a great stay! We’d come back in a heartbeat!
The house is very nice and the property is gorgeous with a beautiful view. We enjoyed our stay, but I would echo a previous review that mentioned how hot the living areas get without AC. Another time of the year, that might not be an issue, but the July heat was no joke. We also experienced a lot of ants, spiders, and lizards inside the house, so be aware if that is something that would bother you.

Dear Heather Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback. We truly appreciate hearing from our guests, as your comments help us continue to improve the experience we provide. This spring and summer have been exceptionally hot in Costa Rica, even more so than in previous years. We understand how important it is to stay comfortable, and we're currently looking into installing an additional air conditioning unit in the main living area to better accommodate the warmer temperatures. The little lizards you may have noticed are geckos, which are very common throughout the tropics. They're harmless and actually help by keeping insects under control. Similarly, while ants are unfortunately a natural part of tropical living, we do have the property regularly treated and monitored. At the same time, we try to strike a balance by limiting the use of harsh chemicals whenever possible to help protect the surrounding environment. Thank you again for your valuable feedback. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back and provide you with an even more enjoyable stay in the future. Michael/Linda, Owners-Host Casa que Pasa
Our family had a great time in Playa Carrillo and Sámara with Micheal’s place as our home base. Everything was exactly as pictured in the photos. The house has a lot of extras like boogie boards, and coolers, or contact solution and bug spray if you forgot yours at home. We had a ball playing in the pool, exploring the two beaches within walking distance, and checking out the array of wildlife on the property from a resident tiger heron, and coitis, to a troop of howler monkeys.
We had an amazing stay. The home was perfectly maintained and spotless. Design was unique and we all loved the flow. Great shopping plaza at the turn off to the gravel road. You could purchase meat, fruit, vegetables along with baked goods. Thanks for the stay
A truly unique, amazingly beautiful, and very well-maintained house and property with a spectacular view. Great and seamless service.
We absolutely loved our stay, dear Michael. The place was very peaceful, although just a few minutes' drive from Carrillo Beach and local shops. We were able to see monkeys, iguanas, and lots of birds there. We were even able to witness the annual migration of the Halloween crabs! We also took full advantage of the pool! Finally, David, the local property manager, welcomed us on the day of our arrival and was able to answer any questions we had. In short, a great family stay and a wonderful introduction to Costa Rica for our little ones. Thank you!

Greats guests .. very courteous and friendly .. we totally enjoyed having them at our home .. I highly recommend Francois and his family to anyone renting their home
We loved the property. Extremely private and quiet (other then ocean waves and birds and monkeys). Lots of wildlife at the house. We saw iguanas, parrots, monkeys and raccoons. The house is well stocked with tons of dishes for eating at the house, but also little things like soaps and lotions and sunscreens, hairdryers etc. Owners and local manager are very responsive. Overall the house is very nice and the design is very cool. Couple “good to knows” for renters: As mentioned in the ad, the rooms are very separate.. so not ideal if you go with younger kids. They’ll be in a “different house” essentially. We were warned so it was fine. There is no AC in the main living area, so you’ll want to hang out in the bedrooms during the afternoon, be gone on an adventure, or be in the pool. In the mornings and evenings it’s pleasant with just the fans. The windows are incredible for feeling like you’re in the jungle - enjoying the views etc, but there are no curtains
Casa Que Pasa was amazing! Beautiful and spacious, well appointed for a vacation beach home. Incredible views of the ocean. The hosts/owners were outstanding and thoughtful. The local caretaker was immediately responsive. Highly recommend using Sámara Adventures for any trips/tours. return again in the future
Exceptional villa surrounded by vegetation, advantageously located overlooking the sea, near the beautiful beach of Carrillo and many restaurants. On the ground floor, the caulking of the doors would benefit from improvement. We had many visitors (lizards, spiders and a scorpion). For the rest, everything is perfect and the stay was up to our expectations.
Beautiful place with an incredible view. Really enjoyed our stay
The views are absolutely stunning, and the property managers were responsive and helpful. The kitchen is well equipped, and the setting offers a peaceful connection with nature. That said, we found the comfort level didn’t match expectations. Only the bedrooms have A/C (as noted), and during the rainy season the common areas were extremely hot and humid. We had a serious ant issue on the first night, and a chirping alarm went off randomly during our stay. The open-slat doors downstairs let bugs in easily, and the home has no internal staircase. You have to go outside to move between levels. This layout isn’t ideal for families with kids. It’s difficult to hear what’s happening on the other floor, and you can’t quickly reach children if needed. Because of this, we didn’t use the upstairs master bedroom and chose to stay downstairs with our kids instead. With better cooling, pest control, and clearer expectations, this place could be exceptional.

Dear Michael Thank you for choosing to stay with us and for taking the time to share your feedback. We truly value your input, as it helps us continually improve and provide a better experience for our guests. In response to your comments, we’ve updated our listing to clearly indicate that the two levels of the home are connected by an exterior staircase. Transparency is important to us, and we want to ensure future guests have an accurate understanding of the layout. We’re committed to creating a comfortable and enjoyable stay for all who visit, and we appreciate the opportunity to learn and grow through your insights. Michael & Linda, Owner and Host
You already know that the house (and the view from its windows and balconies) is beautiful, from looking at the photos. What you don't know yet is how it feels to inhabit it. There were three of us on this trip - my wife, my son and me - but it felt like there were four of us, because the house was such a constant, soothing, almost living presence. The floating ceilings, the invisible walls, the howler monkeys in the trees, the parrots and hummingbirds, the halloween crabs scuttling around the paths, the soft roar of the sea, the flow of warm air through open windows, the cool sanctuaries of the pool and the air-conditioned bedrooms... it's all there with you. And it was blissful. On a practical note, the shore near the property is sort of interesting at low tide, but - for us, at least - not worth more than one visit. But Playa Carrillo, only a five-minute drive, is vast, lovely and amazingly free of crowds. And Samara is a pleasantly scruffy, lively beach town 15 minutes away.

Thank you Sam for the eloquent review .. much appreciated.. Pura Vida
Michael and Linda's house is simply spectacular, nothing less! Although from the pictures and description we knew it would be great, in person the space far exceeded expectations. The view of the ocean is breathtaking. The large indoor and outdoor spaces are exceptionally comfortable and well laid out. The vaulted ceilings and windows everywhere gives you a feeling of being one with the nature around the house, especially when all of the patio doors are open and the sounds of the ocean flow in along with the beautiful ocean breeze. Walking the 5 minute - turn right from the house and down next to the creek and down to the rocky shore or further past the house on an easier route, at low tide (important) brings you to a world of amazing cliff views, crabs scurrying around and even a colony of sea urchins living in the exposed rock tidal pools. Apart from the tidal pool no swimming here but my daughter and I did some wonderful exploring along the shore. Amazing!
Casa Que Pasa is absolutely amazing! It is such a peaceful space- beautifully designed. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook some great meals. We saw whales and parrots from the top deck. The pool was very refreshing. The location is perfect with access to the stunning Playa Carrillo within a few minutes and restaurants in Playa Samara about 15 minutes away.
This house is truly an amazing place to spend a family vacation. The view makes it all very magical! Michael & Linda + David were very concerned about making our experience in their beautiful home incredible! We were 4 adults and 2 young children and it was perfect! The house is a 5-minute drive to Playa Carrillo and 15 minutes to Samara. The pool is great! The accommodation has a lot of amenities! We will recommend it or come back for sure!
This place was amazing! So peaceful and secluded. And gorgeous views! I highly recommend it! We had some flight issues and the host was very accommodating and kind about meeting us there late. We would love to come back!
Gorgeous place! Waking up and having coffee on the ocean-view deck and watching the birds, was particularly relaxing. Sunsets were beautiful. The place is tasteful with nice artwork, furniture, fully stocked kitchen, and really nice bedrooms overlooking the ocean. The architecture is excellent, with windows everywhere and views in every direction. The pool is the perfect size to cool down in the hot afternoons- not too big or small. David was a responsive property manager who was available at all times for questions. He led us to the house when we arrived at night. The road in is bumpy but you get used to it. Part of the Costa Rican charm is the bumpy roads that lead to hidden gems. Highly recommended.
Absolutely gorgeous! The views of the Pacific ocean, the monkeys, the birds, the pool, the balconies, the privacy make this one of the best homes I have been lucky enough to call my own for a few nights.

Thanks for the great review Jason ..I think we will have a book at the house that's more personal so that guests can write their thoughts ...great idea ..have a wonderful Christmas Cheers Michael and Linda
We had a wonderful stay at this property! The house had breathtaking views and was flooded with natural sunlight, which made everything feel so warm and inviting. The pool was a real highlight—perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The local beach was just a short drive away and absolutely gorgeous. It was the perfect combination of peace and beauty. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy some time in a stunning setting!
Casa Que Pasa is amazing!! Our family of five (with 3 teens) were so comfortable in this home. The layout and set up make it very easy to just kick back and relax. The house and the grounds are beautiful and have everything you need for a relaxing stay. The pool was cool and refreshing. Unbelievable views from every window. Location was perfect for us, removed and private but close enough to town and Samara that it’s easy to get wherever we needed to go. It takes a team to run a property like this and every person we meet from the property manager to the gardener was so kind and helpful. Thank you Michael and team! We can’t wait to visit again!
it's hard to underestimate how wonderful Cass Que Pasa is. The daily views of the ocean, watching butterflies and hummingbirds every morning, monkeys and iguanas. The house is very well appointed and absolutely beautiful. It was a wonderful stay for myself, husband and son.

Thank you for the lovely review ..
The house worked really well for our family of 4 including 2 adult children. Communication ahead of check in was great, Michael provided a lot of helpful information. David, the property manager, was very responsive and helpful. The house is very beautiful and exactly as pictured. One of the best equipped kitchens I have seen in an AirBnB. Do not miss the tide pools.
House and location are fantastic! Very private, well appointed and comfortable. Outdoor spaces are perfectly suited to relaxation and lots of local wildlife to view. It was only two of us but this house would be very well suited to a pair of couples or couples with older children. The decks are great but I would be leery of smaller children as the railing are low and wide and the drop to cement is fairly high. Pool was crystal clear and well maintained. The gas grill was clean and almost brand new and a great place to cook fresh fish caught that day. The caretaker and all staff were kind and welcoming!! Do it!!
We enjoyed this home very much! The architecture, finishes and furnishings are quietly elegant and suit the surroundings. Modern and sleek design but with many handcrafted details. Loved the concrete/wood combo. Very comfortable beds!
Michael's house is just as pictured, beautiful, fully stocked, and the best location. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend. David, the property manager, was also very responsive and helpful. Would love to come back!
This is a gorgeous house stocked with everything we needed--even spices, sugar, and a rice cooker. We rented a car at the Liberia airport, and the two-hour drive to the house was easy. Michael sent us step-by-step driving instructions with photos to guide us and showed us where to stop along the way for groceries. We spent peaceful mornings sipping coffee on the porch listening to the birds. We even had some monkeys come visit the trees by the front door! We walked the beautiful black-sand rocky beach just across the street from the house, and we swam on the palm-lined beach just a short drive up the road. We relaxed in the perfect-sized pool in the heat of the afternoons. The air conditioners cooled the bedrooms quickly. There were plenty of restaurants in the area, and we enjoyed the Saturday market in Samara. We were even able to drive up to Monteverde for a day trip to Selvatura Park. This house and the surroundings are a little slice of heaven!
Staying at Michael's house was incredibly nice to us. We stayed there for 14 days and enjoyed each one. Everything was as described on Airbnb and better. The house is perfectly situated for exploring the Nicoya Peninsula. However, a 4x4 vehicle is really mandatory. We were able to watch the nature around the house from the pool and saw a variety of animals, one day we even had a white roe deer in the garden. We will be happy to be guests in this beautiful house again in the future.

thank you for the lovely review ..I thought I would tell you my wife is German with family from Munich and Munster ...all the best to you and your friends ..
Casa Que Pasa is a beautiful home with comfortable beds, a fully equipped kitchen, a great pool, and a beautiful view that never gets old. Watching the wildlife while drinking coffee on the deck made for incredibly peaceful mornings. The house is within 5 minutes of a pristine beach and there are plenty of good restaurants nearby. The house managers were incredibly responsive, offering great local recommendations, an easy check-in and check-out process, and local support. The owner Michael, like the house managers, was very responsive and supportive throughout our stay and provided assistance when we really needed it. Casa Que Pasa is a wonderful place to spend your Costa Rican holiday.
Casa Que Pasa is the perfect combination of comfort and simple modern elegance. The house is so bright and open as if you are living in the tree tops affording great birdwatching which included trogons, parrots, hummingbirds and many other species. The location is very private and quiet but just a 10 minute drive to Playa Carillo and a short walk to small beaches (although these are not really swamming-friendly). We saw humpback whales breaching while sipping coffee on the porch and howler monkeys foraging in the trees above us, while we swam in the pool. We cooked nearly all of our meals during our 10 day stay and the kitchen was well appointed, clean, and organized. Samara is a short drive and has all the neccesary shops and restaurantes. Make sure to catch the Saturday Market! Michael was very responsive before our visit and David and Lesdy, the property managers were extremely friendly, helpful and responsive via email and whats app. It was muy tranquilo! Pura vida!

Thanks for the great review .. it’s really appreciated Pura Vida
What a stay!! We could not have asked for better. We were a family of six that really enjoyed our holiday at Casa Que Pasa. We would have our morning coffee on the top deck watching Humpback whales breaching the surface. We would spend our days on the beach at Playa Carrillo and the afternoons by the pool at the house. We booked excursions with David and he was quick to reply if we had any questions. We had several times at El Colibri which is an excellent Argentine Steak House. The home is in great location which is an authentic Costa Rican beach town. We would highly recommend it. Pura Vida!!!
If you are looking for a peaceful place a little off the beaten path, with a gorgeous view, then this is the place for you. We especially enjoyed drinking our coffee on the balcony in the morning and the refreshing pool in the afternoons after the beach, where we could really relax and cool down. My husband booked a fishing trip through Samara Adventures, caught some beautiful Mahi ( which we ate), and saw so many dolphins. The top and bottom floors are separated, so if you have young children, this might not be an ideal set up for you. However, I always felt very safe. We enjoyed the wildlife all around us, including croati in the yard, so many birds, and watched a whale pop up in the ocean. Beautiful home! Highly recommend!
We had a wonderful stay at Casa Que Pasa and highly recommend it. The views were even better than advertised and we were fortunate enough to see humpback whales breaching from the deck. Playa Carrillo was amazing and we really enjoyed the Argentine restaurant, El Colibri. Thank you for a wonderful stay at this beautiful location!
Michael's house was absolutely stunningly beautiful. Huge, with the most beautiful view and delicious pool. The kitchen was furnished with everything we needed to cook. There was both a washer and dryer which is convenient when traveling for a longer period of time. I would definitely recommend this home to others.

Thank you Mette for the lovely review . It means a lot to us when our guests appreciate the time they spent at our home Michael
The house and grounds were very nice, the kitchen was easy to work in with all essential utensiles, we spent most evenings in good conversation watching the ocean and days watching the birds and animals or by the pool. The house was convient to adventures turtle nesting, macaw tour, zip line and exploring on ATV's. We found Gusto Beach to be the best restaurant in Samara. David the property manager was very helpful with tours and adventures. All in all a wonderful experience and vacation.
Our stay at Michaels place was absolutely perfect! The home is exactly as pictured in the listing… even better! The layout was perfect for a our family with teenagers as they had their own level to sleep. The architecture of the house was breathtakingly! The property is a private oasis! Shared with some special wildlife… the howler monkeys would move through our tree tops almost daily. The pool was heavenly to beat the heat at any time of day or night! We were provided with a local contact to take care of any of our needs and Michael was quick and gracious with all communications. The location was perfect if you have a vehicle, close to beautiful beaches and the town of Samara. We will definitely be back!

Thanks Wendy for the lovely review .. have a great summer ..
Really perfect! A great quiet experience in nature. We had a visit from monkeys. We got warm in the afternoon without the air conditioning, so the pool was becoming essential. We slept well. We were going for a jog in the streets in the morning and it was great. We recommend it without hesitation.
Our family of four absolutely loved Michael’s home (more of a villa with that view) outside Playa Carrillo. You are very much “in nature” here, which is one of the reasons we selected it. Great amenities, pool, everything you’d expect from a property like this. Ample fans helped offset no AC. We enjoyed walking to the tide pools close by and making the short drive to Playa Carrillo for swimming or a bit longer to Samara. If you are looking for something quiet, secluded and luxurious, Michael’s place is a great choice. Pura vida!
We could not be more pleased with Casa Que Pasa. Michael’s beautiful home is a slice of paradise. The accommodations were everything we hoped for and then some. The house was spacious, comfortable, and private. We were gifted with beautiful views and wildlife, including an interaction with a howler monkey family. Michael and David (manager) were 100 percent responsive. David’s restaurant recommendations were fantastic. The entire experience was Pura Vida! Muchísimas Gracias!
What a magical place! Our family of four really enjoyed our time at Casa Que Pasa. The view was the highlight. You’ll see many birds and wildlife around the property. We walked to the beach across the road several times and loved the waterfall. The pool was the perfect temperature and the kids spent every day in it. This was definitely a trip to remember!
This house is unique: location, view, architecture and atmosphere: everything is superb. This place is perfect to rest and relax and enjoy the beauty of area. One could not expect more, so, if you plan to visit Playa Carrillo then book this house!
Casa Que Pasa is a beautiful place to stay if vacationing in the southern Guanecaste region. It’s in an enclave of luxury homes on large lots, so feels very safe and yet private. The oceanview from the top deck was lovely. Every morning was enjoyed our coffee there even saw some whales. Our whole family greatly enjoyed the lovely pool. It was the perfect temp and a good size for our 3 teens to play around in. The upper level is very private from the lower which was perfect for us vacationing with our older children. The small waterfall was a quick walk and very tranquil spot. Definitely a place we would choose to stay at again.
Beautiful architect's house. Very well-equipped. 300m from a waterfall and wild beach. Everything matched the photos. Beautiful beach of Playa Carillo 8 min by car. Grocery store for basic purchases 5 min away. Very convenient. 4x4 convenient but not absolutely necessary. The premises use standard cars. I would return tomorrow morning. Thank you to David for the explanations and for the welcome.
Casa Que Pasa exceeded our expectations. It is a beautiful house closed to the ocean but also in the middle of the jungle.. the view is spectacular. You can enjoy the beautiful beaches (playa Carillo, Samara and Punta Isla) and observe the wild animals (birds, howler monkeys, capuchin monkeys…). Don’t be afraid to wake up early with those animals. Personally, I found that wonderful. You have everything you need in the kitchen to cock and plastic glasses to enjoy a drink around the swimming pools. The house is very comfortable and don’t be worried about not having a/c. Good car is recommended to visit the place. Bernina Artisan food can come to cock for you. We found them by hazard and they provide excellent food with service at home.
Michael and Linda were very gracious hosts who went out of their way to accommodate us following an unforeseen disruption and delay in our travel plans. The house and grounds are absolutely beautiful. We had a wonderful stay and wouldn't hesitate in recommending this house to others.
Amazing property with everything you need for a wonderful holiday. Amazing views, good location and total privacy and seclusion. Would definately return.

We had such a wonderful stay at Casa Que Pasa! The house was beautiful, as were the grounds, and the pictures truly do not do justice to how spectacular the views are!! Everything was very comfortable and well equipped. We also were mesmerized by the howler monkeys all around the house!

Thank you Ruby for a lovely review of our home .. hopefully you will come back and visit Casa Que Pasa in the near future .. Pura Vida
Casa Que Pasa is an incredible escape lovingly created to make you feel completely at home. The house is tasteful and well appointed without feeling like it is someone else's home. Having stayed at a few houses in the region, the gravel roads to access the property are not surprising, but of course 4 wheel drive is always recommended when touring Costa Rica. The property is well maintained and the cast of characters that came through were all lovely and friendly from the gardener tending to the beautiful bird of paradise plants and guava tree to the capuchin monkeys swinging in the jungle behind the house (even the ants that found every crumb on the kitchen counter were relatively harmless). We cooked most of our meals in the kitchen, but there is plenty of food within a 5-15 minute drive. The beaches nearby in Carrillo and Samara are beautiful, and the house is just removed enough to feel like you have your own private spot. We were worried about not having a/c in the hottest time of the year, but with the ceiling fans going and all the glass doors open the entire time we stayed we slept comfortably at night and used the glorious pool during the hottest parts of the day. Nature sounds do find their way in at night and in the morning which we found ourselves missing in the days after returning to our own beds. Michael and local caretaker David made sure we had all our questions answered and were kind and chill. True example of PURA VIDA at its finest.

Excellent, 4 years ago
The accommodations exceeded our expectations. Truly luxury living in the jungle. One tip: you will need to rent an all wheel or 4WD vehicle to navigate the driveway. It’s steep. Our rental was an all-wheel drive with bald tires and we often parked at the bottom and walked the 100 or so meters to the top. Small price to pay for the view!
Our family absolutely loved our vacation at Michael’s home in Playa Carrillo!! Perfect location to travel around Samara, Playa Carrillo and Punta Islita. We saw sunsets every night, heard the howlers every morning and enjoyed the hot sun in the nice size pool. The house was stocked with all the necessities, it was so easy being here! Pura Vida Casa Que Pasa!
Beautiful house that is closer to the water than the photos show. Close to small private walking beaches and five minutes from Playa Carrillo that is a world class beach for sun bathing and swimming. The dirt road in front is great for morning or evening runs. The house is comfortable and spacious, with a great spot for catching sun by the pool. We were also visited by a large family of howler monkeys (including three babies) for the first three days, and on day four were visited by a family of capuchins. They are definitely more crazy than the mellow howlers but we’re a blast to watch. Communication with Michael and David was great and both were quick to respond. One note is that the geo pin through google maps will try to send you up north. It tried to redirect us 5 times while driving from San Jose. just make sure it stays pinned close to Carrillo and you will drive right to the house.
Perfection on every level. Beautifully designed home - spectacular ocean views - pool area is divine. So private but still close to Playa Carrillo and Playa Samara with beautiful coves to explore, pick shells, be a part of the magnificent sunsets. Bird and butterfly watching from the top deck while letting the day slip by … heaven. This house is a total gem and we feel so lucky to have experienced all of this.
The house is exactly as shown in the photos, the cleanliness, the style, the care that that that house has is unbeatable. Super well equipped with everything you need and more, the neighborhood is very quiet and super safe. Super recommend HOUSE PASSING BY and we will definitely come back again. The owner is a very friendly person, just like David and the people who work for him .
Beautifully designed house (the pictures truly do not do it justice) and wonderfully located (Samara and Carrillo are amazing beaches just minutes away). The owner was very accommodating, and the caretaker was super helpful. We plan on a return stay as soon as possible.
The house is great and has everything one needs. The view of the sea is beautiful, the pool is delicious and all the details of the house are unbeatable. Please note that the house does not have AC but the truth with the architecture and fans feels cool in the time of year we went (early January) The house is well equipped. There is laundry. Birds are always observed and we even saw monkeys a few meters away. The house does not have a TV but it was not a problem as we coordinated with the owner in time and we managed to get a TV with Netflix to entertain the little ones in our family. Playa Carrillo is beautiful and about 10 mins Max in car. There is a small beach about a 5 minute walk away, it is rocky but it is worth a visit for the landscapes. Thank you to Michael and David, who helped us at check-in.
This place is wonderful, you must go if you want to have a really good experience during your visit to Costa Rica, the location is amazing and the view is what I enjoyed the most.
This home was absolutely beautiful. My kids described it as "very insta worthy." The location was very near a small private like beach and waterfall and only minutes from Playa Carrillo. We traveled up and down the Guanacaste coast during our trip, but nothing was as relaxing as hanging around in hammocks and picking up starfish at that very local feeling beach. I recommend this home for your family or friends as a perfect escape.

Great place in a great area! All you need for your private and quiet vacations with your family is there!!!
Our stay at Michael's was amazing! The house is beautiful and is very well equipped. The communication was great as well, and our only regret is not staying longer.
Fantastic views! Great place to rest, very peaceful, definitely will like to return!
The accommodation is amazing! Beautiful architecture surrounded by an even more beautiful landscape, surrounded by lots of nature. Unbeatable facilities, excellent service and good cleanliness. My family was delighted and we hope to be able to return soon!
Overall was amazing! Consider that the place doesn’t have AC so it could be hot sometimes but the place is incredibly nice!
Our stay was awesome! Michael was quick to communicate details with us. The house and property were beautiful. The pool was super convenient. Honnestly, the photos don't do it justice, especially with regard to the views.
This is a stunning home situated high enough to enjoy spectacular views of the ocean and jungle. The views are not shown very well in the pictures here - but trust me, you will be pleased! It has great ocean views and sunsets from the huge floor to ceiling windows and expansive decks. With the binoculars we were able to spot manta rays jumping in the waves. Also, quite enjoyable was the outdoor private pool, it was the perfect temperature for cooling off and surrounded by beautiful flowers and landscaping! The kitchen is well stocked for cooking anything you may want (but note no microwave). Gas stove worked great and plenty of dishes, cookware, placemats, linens, and towels. We were three couples so the set up worked well. A family would want to know that two of the bedrooms are on the lower level and access is reached by exterior stairs to the two bedrooms and bath. May not work well with small children, is my opinion, but for our group it was not an issue. Hosts communicated well and the property managers, David and Lesdy, were a delight and available to answer any questions and also assisted with plenty of local information to get us out and about to everything we wanted to see and do. They own an a local adventure company and we enjoyed a boat day with dolphins and turtles and snorkeling at Isla Chlora. We loved Samara and Puerto Carrillo (gorgeous beach 5 mins drive from the house) and will definitely return to Costa Rica.
My husband and I have visited Costa Rica on 12 different occassions, so we are not newbies to CR. We are NOT resort goers, as we like to experience the culture of the countries we visit, but we also like the comforts of home. CQP is exqusitly designed and the hosts are thoughtful and have provided for every little detail a guest could possibly require. From start to finish they care for you. Michael stayed touch to ensure our full enjoyment. David Ortega is CQP's local property manager, he is a delight and so helpful. So now the house...Casa Que Pasa... The modern elements and open concept design allow guests to comfortably enjoy the private and natural environment that it resides on. Each room has vaulted ceilings with fans and balconys. Waking up each day to stunning views , sounds of the ocean and wildlife makes you want to linger longer...truly a highlight. Master on the upper main floor with 2 large bedrooms on the lower floor ... both also have stunning views and privacy. Even the most experienced chef will find the fully equiped kitchen a delight to create in. The bathrooms are modern and very clean. Lots of linens and towels available for both indoors and out. The pool and outdoor living spaces (bbq lounge chairs dining table) are found on various levels making the outdoor spaces equally as well thought out as the interior. Location is great, a car is a benefit, but taxis work as beaches and restaurants are a short 10-15 min drive away. Tidal pools are very interesting and an easy walk to. Lots to do in the area horseback riding and fishing (David recommended Frank and he was excellent!!!). If you are busy in life looking for solitude, time to wind down in an easy relaxing enviro ... CQP is the spot!!!!
The house lives up to the listing. It is beautiful inside and out. It’s a bit outside Carrillo but it doesn’t matter. A few steps from two beaches which aren’t for swimming but are beautiful and dramatic. We hiked the rocks on the coast with the most gorgeous vistas. The house is stylish and stocked with a gourmet kitchen. All the amenities of home with stunning scenery where you can sleep to the sound of the ocean. We can’t wait to go back!

Hola Colleen, Thank you for the wonderful review . It's truly appreciated. Your idea about the ceiling fans on the deck area is something we will look into ..It's a great idea. We will most likely pick up a microwave when we are in Carrillo in November. I wish you the best in your travels and hopefully we will see you at Casa Que Pasa again best wishes, Michael and Linda
Amazing experience. Hosts made sure , we felt at home. The House has wonderful views, it is super clean, new, well equipped, confortable and safe. If you are looking to rent in the area, and have a car to move around, it is definitely the best option ! We enjoyed very much the opportunity to be surrounded by nature and be able to experience it as it best. Thanks Michael and Lisa for making our stay so great.
Michael and Linda’s home was everything advertised and more. I think the other reviewers have done a great job summing things up, but I’ll mention a couple things. -the house was spotless, and very stylish. It had plenty of little extras like beach and pool toys (not a ton, it’s a small plunge pool as mentioned), a great kitchen, comfortable bedrooms, great bathrooms, etc. The view from the upper deck is amazing, and the sounds of the jungle and the surf woke us every day, and put us to bed every night. -There is no TV. I say this not as a bad thing, but so you don’t bring a Nintendo for the kids like I did, wasting bag space. It was awesome to have that quiet all week, kids played in the pool after dark while we drank wine and read. -Internet is slow, if you have a bunch of dumb devices like we did, turn them all to airplane mode and keep one phone connected, it will work when you need it. Took us a couple days to remember life without updates. It was awesome! Not much else to say that hasn’t been said, just get the house and spend your days on the beach, stop fooling around already!
Casa Que Pasa is a fantastic place to stay - five stars! Michael was an extraordinary host, really going the extra mile to help us get comfortable before we even arrived. (We needed an extra cot/bed, and Michael somehow managed to get one before we arrived - really a huge effort and something that helped make our stay much better). The house is fully equipped to stay and enjoy - every amenity and item you'd need to cook, relax, go to the beach, or just stay put. The pictures on the web site are fantastic, but the actual experience is even better. One thing Michael does not include is the view from the decks - a beautiful, sprawling view of the ocean, sunset and sunrise. Really just fantastic. This location is 5-10 minutes south of Carrillo beach, which we visited every day. We much preferred this beach to Sàmara, which is more crowded and full of tourists. Carrillo beach is used more by Ticos, and we preferred the laid-back vibe and beauty of this beach much more. We thought this location may be too far afield, but once we got there we realized it's only minutes away from where we wanted to be, and the quiet location was really a bonus. Thank you to Michael for the great hosting and responsiveness.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Casa Que Pasa for 23 days in February and March and we loved our stay. The house is situated outside the small village of Puerto Carrillo. It's a fairly secluded area, still mostly undeveloped, along a beautiful rocky shore. There are a couple of neighbours, but the lots are large and there is a feeling of privacy. There is a big Tuscan style villa on the left of Michael's house and one on the other side of the road. No neighbour on the right, and a woody area in the back, which is great because it attracts all kinds of cute and interesting animals, and lots of birds. We felt like we were in a beautiful cottage in the country. The view is amazing because even though you are in the mountains, you are actually quite close to the ocean. There are binoculars at the house and we watched groups of rays jumping out of the water and flapping their wings as if they were trying to fly! I even saw a whale. You can hear the waves crashing on the rocks, especially at high tide. We used only the master bedroom upstairs and the bed is firm and comfortable. Nice big shower. Lots of beach towels. Water pressure is adequate. Hot water is not super hot but there is enough of it, especially in such hot weather. The kitchen is well equipped but it could have been cleaner (same for the bathroom). The gas BBQ is a plus: we used it often. The washing machine worked well and it was very useful. There are lots of windows to allow air circulation and it works pretty well. It does get hot in mid afternoon. There are no blinds or curtains, so you wake up at sunrise, with the sounds of birds. If you want to sleep until 7 am or later, I would recommend bringing ear plugs and a sleeping mask. Michael is a very nice host. Communication was excellent. Casa Que Pasa is an exceptional house when you compare with most offerings on Airbnb; interesting architecture, tastefully decorated and very welcoming. Overall we had a good time at Casa Que Pasa and we would definitely go back.
This is a beautifully designed place with amazing views and great location. Anything you need is there, plus the hosts are very responsive.

We thank you for your review and appreciate your feedback on the kitchen. This will be addressed immediately with the cleaning staff. Michael and Linda, Casa que Pasa
Casa Que Pasa was amazing! My family and I felt right at home. This Airbnb lacks absolutely nothing, for it was fully stocked and equipped for any and everything you could possibly need. The views of the Pacific Ocean from the home are simply indescribable. Michael and Linda were terrific hosts. Although residing in Canada and not local, they were always reachable and very responsive. Our stay in Costa Rica is two weeks long and we booked only one week at Casa Que Pasa. Our second week is in another Airbnb and although it's not bad, it has nothing on Casa Que Pasa. The only regret is we didn't plan to stay there the entire two-week stay in Costa Rica. This home is the reason our family has decided upon Carrillo for our annual Christmas Holiday vacation. Prior to arriving to the home, we were very impressed by the pictures, but when seeing Casa Que Pasa in person we were blown away. The pictures don't display all the character the home has to offer. If you're staying in the Guanacaste Province, we highly recommend Casa Que Pasa for your stay. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED AND I CAN ALMOST GUARANTEE, YOU WILL NOT WANT TO GO HOME!
