The views are absolutely stunning, and the property managers were responsive and helpful. The kitchen is well equipped, and the setting offers a peaceful connection with nature. That said, we found the comfort level didn’t match expectations. Only the bedrooms have A/C (as noted), and during the rainy season the common areas were extremely hot and humid. We had a serious ant issue on the first night, and a chirping alarm went off randomly during our stay. The open-slat doors downstairs let bugs in easily, and the home has no internal staircase. You have to go outside to move between levels. This layout isn’t ideal for families with kids. It’s difficult to hear what’s happening on the other floor, and you can’t quickly reach children if needed. Because of this, we didn’t use the upstairs master bedroom and chose to stay downstairs with our kids instead. With better cooling, pest control, and clearer expectations, this place could be exceptional.

You already know that the house (and the view from its windows and balconies) is beautiful, from looking at the photos. What you don't know yet is how it feels to inhabit it. There were three of us on this trip - my wife, my son and me - but it felt like there were four of us, because the house was such a constant, soothing, almost living presence. The floating ceilings, the invisible walls, the howler monkeys in the trees, the parrots and hummingbirds, the halloween crabs scuttling around the paths, the soft roar of the sea, the flow of warm air through open windows, the cool sanctuaries of the pool and the air-conditioned bedrooms... it's all there with you. And it was blissful. On a practical note, the shore near the property is sort of interesting at low tide, but - for us, at least - not worth more than one visit. But Playa Carrillo, only a five-minute drive, is vast, lovely and amazingly free of crowds. And Samara is a pleasantly scruffy, lively beach town 15 minutes away.

Michael and Linda's house is simply spectacular, nothing less! Although from the pictures and description we knew it would be great, in person the space far exceeded expectations. The view of the ocean is breathtaking. The large indoor and outdoor spaces are exceptionally comfortable and well laid out. The vaulted ceilings and windows everywhere gives you a feeling of being one with the nature around the house, especially when all of the patio doors are open and the sounds of the ocean flow in along with the beautiful ocean breeze. Walking the 5 minute - turn right from the house and down next to the creek and down to the rocky shore or further past the house on an easier route, at low tide (important) brings you to a world of amazing cliff views, crabs scurrying around and even a colony of sea urchins living in the exposed rock tidal pools. Apart from the tidal pool no swimming here but my daughter and I did some wonderful exploring along the shore. Amazing!

Casa Que Pasa is absolutely amazing! It is such a peaceful space- beautifully designed. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook some great meals. We saw whales and parrots from the top deck. The pool was very refreshing. The location is perfect with access to the stunning Playa Carrillo within a few minutes and restaurants in Playa Samara about 15 minutes away.

Gorgeous place! Waking up and having coffee on the ocean-view deck and watching the birds, was particularly relaxing. Sunsets were beautiful. The place is tasteful with nice artwork, furniture, fully stocked kitchen, and really nice bedrooms overlooking the ocean. The architecture is excellent, with windows everywhere and views in every direction. The pool is the perfect size to cool down in the hot afternoons- not too big or small. David was a responsive property manager who was available at all times for questions. He led us to the house when we arrived at night. The road in is bumpy but you get used to it. Part of the Costa Rican charm is the bumpy roads that lead to hidden gems. Highly recommended.

Casa Que Pasa is amazing!! Our family of five (with 3 teens) were so comfortable in this home. The layout and set up make it very easy to just kick back and relax. The house and the grounds are beautiful and have everything you need for a relaxing stay. The pool was cool and refreshing. Unbelievable views from every window. Location was perfect for us, removed and private but close enough to town and Samara that it’s easy to get wherever we needed to go. It takes a team to run a property like this and every person we meet from the property manager to the gardener was so kind and helpful. Thank you Michael and team! We can’t wait to visit again!
