Absolute paradise! My family of 5, including 3 teen boys, had the most excellent stay in late July/early August 2026. We loved the open air living area and kitchen, which provided us with hours and hours of family time playing games in the Adirondack chairs and preparing meals in the kitchen. We saw so much wildlife on the property - even the resident sloth! Macaws and/or howler monkeys screaming in the morning, a variety of birds, small lizards and butterflies. The proximity to the beach is the highlight of this house - convenient and perfectly private. The proximity to the towns of Cocles (with a grocery store and local Sodas) and the lively Puerto Viejo was a welcome surprise. We visited all of the beaches and Cuhuita N'tl Park where we saw iguanas, spider monkeys, and more. Eva was very helpful and got us settled in nicely and Josef's brother Jurek was very friendly and offered us recs for dinner. I would stay at Josef's place again and again - it was just a dream. Thank you!

We had a wonderful stay here. The beach is beautiful, and the open-air kitchen and living area made the house feel especially relaxing and connected to the surroundings. Eva, who cares for the property, was an absolute gem. She was warm, helpful, and made everything easier during our stay. The location is excellent, close to the charming town of Puerto Viejo and directly across from the Jaguar Rescue Center, which we were able to walk to. We saw sloths in the trees near the beach in front of house multiple times, monkeys along the nearby trail, colorful butterflies, agoutis in the yard, and wildlife all around us. Even while eating at the dining table, we truly felt immersed in nature. A lovely place for anyone wanting beach access, wildlife, and a true Caribbean Costa Rica experience of Pura Vida.

It's always a pleasure to come back! You can tell how much love they put into the house, and every time we arrive, we find it prettier than the last time! The beach is beautiful and quite private! Ideal for families!

Absolutely amazing, perfect locations with macaws, monkeys, resident sloths and so much more. You won’t find anything better next to the water. Snorkeling is so convenient, located a short walking distance from the backyard. Safe environment with gated entrance and sunrises from the beach were spectacular

Great welcome from Eva in an authentic and charming family home. The common areas are nice and spacious. The rooms are simple, authentic, and have a nostalgic atmosphere. The house is in a sumptuous shared garden with other houses that are all equally charming. The house is next to the beach. I highly recommend it!!

The house was beautiful! I grew up in the region and have been visiting these historic homes since I was little, its charm did not disappoint. Our greeter Eva was kind, informative and generous. The snorkeling was amazing on the calmest day. Our family a much needed vacation.

Wow! This place is paradise! Our family of 7 (2 adults, 5 kids) stayed for 9 days and had a blast! If you love nature and the outdoors this place is definitely for you! We saw sloths. howler monkeys, macaws. and more all from our front door. The beach in front of the house is the best in the entire area. The kids enjoyed the small tide pools and saw so many fish (we even saw an octopus). The restaurants in town are delish and the kitchen has everything you need for cooking at home, so many pots and pans! Eva the grounds keeper is so wonderful, attentive, and kind. I highly recommend this home!

Fantastic experience. The house is beautiful and comfortable, with direct access to the lovely little beach, from which we could also see the monkeys passing by around 5:00 p.m. Wonderful garden with agoutis, parrots, and a beautiful cat. A special shout-out to Eva for her kindness and helpfulness. Thank you so much!

Stayed a week with 7 (5 kids). Excellent experience. So peaceful. Tons of wildlife with monkeys, macaws, sloths, and small critters. From the home it was a short walk to the beach front then you can walk north to lots of other beach areas. Many restaurants nearby with walking distance, short drive to two nice grocery stores. Overall this place was perfect and would gladly stay again.

We stayed here with six adults and three kids and had a wonderful experience. The place was super nice, comfortable, and perfect for a group our size. The location is excellent and made everything very easy for us. The host was extremely responsive and attentive. We did have a small inconvenience during our stay, but it was handled quickly and in the best possible way ✨✨✨— the solution was amazing and really showed how much the host cares about guests’ experience. Overall, we felt very well taken care of and truly enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended!

Wow! What an absolute paradise! This was our first trip to Costa Rica and this Airbnb was the best of the best. Josef, Eva, and all the staff that work on these grounds were so accommodating and friendly. If we needed anything or had questions they were happy to help and quick to respond. You are literally a 1 minute walk to a beautiful beach. There is so much wildlife on the grounds and many places to explore when walking along the beach. The house is beautiful and suited our group of 8 very comfortably. If there is something that you need, there is a supermarket that is a 3 minute drive away. The house does not always have hot water, more like warm water for showering, but we had no problem with that. No house is perfect, and we have zero complaints. I cannot wait to come back and stay again.

Our stay was short, but for 3 families with small children the place was perfect, Eva allowed us to enter 1 hour before, the house was spacious and with different spaces to share, the huge kitchen and with everything you need, and best of all is an almost private beach just a few steps away. Definitely a great place.
