4BR Villa in San Miguel de Allende

Barney

Terrible, 6 months ago

A once beautiful home has not been maintained and not a desirable place to stay. After three days of a one month reservation, we found another home for the remainder of our vacation. We forfeited our $4,000 payment since the owner refused a refund.

Casa Ludee is a beautiful rustic home located in the hills of San Miguel de Allende. We originally had 6 guests and a dog staying, but ended up just having 2 guests and a dog. The house is located on top of a hill in a residential neighborhood. It's a rather flat area, but to get downtown you need to either walk downhill/uphill or drive/taxi/uber. We drove here, and it has a garage for parking. You can be in the thick of the downtown crowds, and then get back here for a quiet rest. The house itself is beautiful. You can't go wrong staying here. We didn't make use of the patio area that much, but it would be great for larger gatherings. There are a lot of nooks and crannies to get lost in, if you want. A bar/game room which I really loved. The house is quiet, except for the occasional car driving down the cobblestone street. There is a tv and sonos sound system available for streaming. Rodrigo and Getsemani are great hosts, and took care of issues promptly. We really enjoyed our stay

Everything was excellent! The place is amazing, it has everything you need and more. The house is a 15-20 minute walk from downtown, which seems excellent to me since it is a quiet neighborhood where you can rest and you don't have to worry about parking or the noise of downtown. If you have a car and pets, this is a great option. Communication was very good.

Our stay at Case Ludee exceeded our expectations. The pictures really do not do this house justice. It is so spacious, with multiple seating areas to enjoy - we had five people in the house and we could all be in completely separate areas if we wanted. The artistry of the construction and the furnishings was really exquisite and inspirational. The house was nicely equipped and we had everything that we needed to cook meals and be comfortable. I would stay here again no doubt and would recommend to others. This is not your average Airbnb.

The house is very nice, clean and close to downtown. The host was attentive and very friendly. We only struggled to get in and out as it was a bit difficult to open and close the car gate. I highly recommend the house!

The house is super comfortable, beautiful and complete with all the amenities, I loved the host service, super recommended, I would come back again

Rodrigo's place is beautiful, spacious, and has personality and character. We are already planning a future trip just because we liked it so much. My family and I had a great time. There were plenty of spaces for us to hang out and chat, and also plenty of room. We particularly enjoyed the backyard (in the day and in the evening) and the living room area. We went to a wedding, so the number of bathrooms, the space and mirrors in them, and the amenities were just perfect. The place also has character. It is decorated with style and personality. We loved that you can tell that Rodrigo and his family put effort in decorating. It was also easy enough for us to walk downtown and close/cheap enough to take a cab when we didn't feel like walking. Also Rodrigo and Getse were super responsive and helpful. Overall an amazing experience.

We had a wonderful stay at this house in Atascadero. It was quiet, spacious, private and filled with interesting art and plants. It does not take long to walk down hill to the centro but most won’t want to walk back up the steep hill more than once daily. We took taxis when needed but they were easily found. The weather was cooler this visit than we have experienced in the past and the house is not easily warmed by the space heaters supplied. Bring some sweaters in winter. The house was in good repair and The maid came twice a week and it always felt clean . The host and co host were quickly responsive to any questions and would willingly help if needed.

I was taking my 70 year old mother to see SMDA for the first time. Description said it was a small walk to town. The walk is a very steep walk and stairs into town and took us about 20 minutes. Certainly would not consider it a stroll to reach the main plaza. We ended up renting a car due to the distance. We arrived to the house hoping to get some rest after a long day of travel and all we heard was the construction going on next door. ALL four days. It was so loud it shook the house. We reached out to the owner and she apologized. She said she did know of the noise WAS AWARE. We did not get a warning nor were told about this horrible condition before hand even though the hostess admitted to knowing before hand that the constructions was going on. When I reached out to hostess, she said there is nothing more they can do. They left a bottle of wine and pastries. This is the fires negative feedback and eperience I have given on any stay with AB&B.

This is a fantastic place to stay with a group - it's even more beautiful in person than the pictures show. I highly recommend! The space was clean, easy to access, and had just about everything we needed. The hosts were incredibly communicative and provided a ton of recommendations. The professional check-in book and logo towels/mugs was a nice touch. The bonfire is AMAZING. One thing to caution is the "hill" many comment on is not a single hill - it's several that are extremely steep at times and with some of the most aggressive cobblestone I've walked on. Bring comfy shoes! After the first night of walking to the city center and back, we ended up opting for taxis - this made the location less convenient than anticipated. Uber was not a reliable option, so we ended up ordering taxis to go everywhere. They are cheap, but were not always easy to order due to our limited Spanish skills. Construction next door made our stay very noisy during work hours- but the host can't control that.

We had an incredible stay at this stunning home in San Miguel de Allende! Not only was the house even more unique in person than in the pictures, it also had the added bonus of having private parking, which made it easy for us to come and go. The location was perfect, it was less than a 15-minute walk to the main square, and close to all the attractions we wanted to see. Inside the house was spacious, clean, and had all the amenities we needed. But the real highlight was the fantastic outdoor space in the courtyard, complete with a fire pit and BBQ. We made great use of it during our stay. Rodrigo and Getse were incredibly friendly, accommodating, and helpful. We were there in winter and my only feedback for future guests is to bring some warm layers and slippers! While the provided heaters are good for the bedrooms, the shared spaces can be chilly. I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a comfortable, funky and convenient place to stay in San Miguel de Allende!

The home is very spacious and is great for larger groups. The house has all essentials you need for a long stay and it’s way better than what you see in the photos. The location is great if you like privacy but it is a long walk up to return from the plaza center. We would walk down the neighborhood and take a taxi back up. Some hills are very steep and if you’re traveling with older parents it’s best to take a taxi to move them around.

Cada Ludee was a beautiful oasis away from home, it brings privacy and space for anyone traveling in big groups. Every corner never went unnoticed, the details that went into creating this place a home is what made it special. Rodrigo was a great host, he was vary attentive and responsive with all our needs and questions. His place was hard to leave because it felt so much like home. I would definitely come back and would highly recommend staying here on your visit to San Miguel, you are going to love it.

Casa Ludee is sensational. From the minute we walked in we were delighted with this beautiful Casa. Everyone had their own bathroom and lots of spaces to have some alone time. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook and though there is not an oven there was a very cool toaster oven with many settings. Big enough to cook a pizza or roast a chicken. Rodrigo was available every time we had a question. He even replaced a broken electric kettle immediately after we mentioned it to him. Casa Ludee is located in a very safe and quiet neighbourhood. Not far from Centro. We usually took a taxi home as it is uphill. My kids walked it but I always took a taxi. They are very cheap and after a long day wondering around it was nice to have a ride. We would definitely stay at Rodrigos again!!

Six of us were able to live comfortably at Casa Ludee for a month. We enjoyed the beauty and size of the house and referred to it as "our castle". The house is well furnished with quality furniture, artwork, bedding and plenty of blankets. It is located on a hill close to the botanical garden. The neighborhood is clean, quiet, well kept and loaded with lovely gardens and courtyards. We walked about 20 minutes down the hill each day to the Centro for shopping, restaurants and people watching. On many occasions, we rode back up the hill in a taxi (only $3.50) because the ascent is steep, with a 400 foot gain in elevation. Needless to say, the walks helped make it possible to enjoy all the great food without putting on weight! Rodrigo was an attentive host and responded quickly to our needs. The internet typically worked well, but on at least 3 occasions he had to call in the company for an external problem. We also had to be careful about using multiple appliances with a heating unit simultaneously, because it would trip the circuit breaker. We quickly learned where the fuse box was, because of being there in January when we needed to use the space heaters! There was a water heater problem in one of the bathrooms that lasted for two weeks and we lost electricity in part of the house for 3 days. While Rodrigo responded quickly to our requests, the contractors he hired were working on "Mexico time." The kitchen is large and has supplies for preparing basic meals. The experience was totally different from staying in the US and we delighted in the many cultural differences, from no central heat, to having a daily maid and a weekly gardener, to hand crafted architecture including hand carved doors, site chiseled stone walls, and a walled garden.

I was delighted, the house is beautiful, very spacious and in a very good location. Rodrigo's service was excellent. I don't have any complaints.

This is a beautiful house with all the amenities one could ask. We were so impressed with all the style the house offered that made it feel artisanal that complimented the area of San Miguel. I was impressed with the high quality of the furniture and construction stain glass, tile work, doors, stairs, etc). The mattresses were high quality and the couch felt firm and newer. The beds were clean with thick sheets. The house didn’t feel like groups of people were staying in it week after week. The cleaning lady came twice during our 5 day start which was perfect. The house has a lot of private spaces tucked away. You need to take the time to find and then appreciate their value. This is a great house for groups of about 6-8. I would love to come here again!

The house location is perfect. Quiet and safe neighborhood , it’s a 10 minute walk downhill to the main plaza and for the way back you can easily get a taxi, it’s inexpensive and very convenient if you’re traveling with elders. The house is spacious and relaxing.

We had a really nice weekend at Ludee's place. Rodrigo is very attentive and friendly, and he responded very quickly every time I wrote to him. The house is spacious and comfortable and has everything you need to spend a few pleasant days. It's not close to downtown Combinar, but by car, you can get there in 5 minutes. It's better in person than in the photos, so it's worth it. Punishment.

Spacious and well designed house with plenty of room and beautiful surroundings.

The place is in a very quiet area; you can walk around the area without any problems. You can get to downtown by car in less than 5 minutes, and on foot, you can reach the historic center in about 15 minutes. The place is equipped with many amenities, and the décor makes you feel right at home. If you didn't want to leave during your entire stay, you wouldn't get to fully enjoy the house. We spent most of the time around the campfire. Communication with Rodrigo was excellent, and the cleanliness of the house was impeccable. We will definitely stay here again; highly recommended.

We stayed a weekend at the house. It was probably better than the photos in the listing. The house was spotless and excellently appointed. It is a bit of a hike downhill and then uphill to get to and from the main town plaza area of San Miguel, but we either drove or took Ubers during our stay. Rodrigo provided little touches like finding a bottle of wine and box of cookies for us. The kitchen was also stocked with tea and coffee pods. I only found two minor critiques which are that only two of the four burners on the kitchen stove were working and that while the listing indicated that a housekeeper is included, the housekeeper did not come during our weekend stay. Rodrigo indicated that the housekeeper does not work on weekends. Rodrigo was an excellent host and responded very quickly to any questions we had during our stay. We would definitely stay again. Thank you Rodrigo!

Our stay at Casa Ludee is one of the most welcoming experience I’ve had during my 60 years of international travel. We have more than 10 people in our party and there’s more than rooms for everyone. The location is perfect for a 10 minute walk to the center of San Miguel de Allande, and we’re very pleased with the fact that there’s no worry about parking near the house at all hours. The host has been more than polite. He gave us really quick and helpful response about our inquiries of local businesses amenities around the house. I would strong recommended this place for anyone who’s looking for a great stay in San Miguel.

A place like few others, a very well-kept house. The place gives a super homey and warm place, the internet is super fast and safe. It has a lot more amenities than are in the listing. Very big and clean. Rodrigo is quite flexible and friendly apart from the fact that it is super attentive to the guest. One of the best houses where we stayed. ----------------- The house has much more amenities than what is announced at AIRBNB. It has a super cozy environment and the placeis way bigger than what the images can show. I would say, it has been one of the best houses I've ever stayed at.

We stayed at Rodrigos place as a family as we went to San Miguel for a wedding which was very close to Rodrigos home. It couldn't have been better. Super clean, nicely decorated with lots of Mexican touches. You have parking space for 2 cars. In the lower level there is a double bedroom with its bathroom. The kitchen fully equipped, we had coffee, water, Rodrigo left a cake so we could have it the next morning (which was really good). We didn't cook as we had social plans.....but if needed you have everything. There is also a TV area, bar area (with lots of table games, the living room with a fire place and a comfortable dining room. In the upper level there are 3 other bedrooms. One with a huge bathroom and 2 queen beds. The other 2 rooms share bathroom one has a king size bed and the other a queen. Beds are really comfortable and sparkling clean. The place is very quiet and we slept like babies. It was great for our family. We enjoyed having a glass of wine (left by Rodrigo) in the patio with a nice round sitting area. Rodrigo was very responsive and helpful. He let us enter his home earlier than expected, as some members of the family were able to arrive earlier to San Miguel, and as we had a long night in the wedding he also was very flexible on the hour we had to leave. If you want to be in the hustle of town, maybe this is not the perfect home. But you can drive downtown (4 minute drive) and be in a beautiful home and in a very peaceful street. There is a smart key to enter the property and then a key to enter the home. And even though there was only one key for the home we didn't have an problem for getting back home at diferent times. Rodrigo has recommendation of places to visit, restaurants...... We would definetively go back to Casa Ludee

Casa Ludee is a wonderful house! We spent three weeks there, and had a great time in beautiful San Miguel. The outside fire pity was a great boon—Rodrigo warned us that the first week might be chilly! Rodrigo and Elenor could not have been better hosts, with super fast and helpful communication, including ordering extra firewood, and arranging for a chef and her team to cook on a couple of occasions (highly recommended).

We just came back from 2 weeks at Casa Ludee. We spent Christmas and New Years in San Miguel de Allende. The pictures of the house do not do it justice! Every detail in the house was gorgeous and the house is spectacular. There are beautiful hanging plants to lovely Mexican pottery to outstanding stained glass and fantastic pieces of art. The house is very close to the center of town, a short walk down the hill. We would often take uber/taxis to and from the property, they were very affordable (between $2-$4). One thing to note, it there is no oven in the house (this is typical in Mexico). However, the gas BBQ was also not working (connection piece was missing) and as we were there for Christmas this made cooking somewhat of a creative activity. The outside fire pit was the highlight of our stay, we loved hanging out there as a family during the chilly Nights. Be prepared for cold nights during the winter months s Casa Ludee is truly beautiful and a perfect location for larger family/friend gathering. We had a lovely family Christmas vacation. Thank you.

Lovely well appointed traditional home in an upscale neighborhood. About a 20 minute steep walk down to town on cobblestones but very easy and inexpensive to taxi or Uber back. We were greeted by Lorena and she showed us the house and answered our many questions. One day we inadvertently locked the house keys inside and they arranged to have someone let us in. Lorena and Rodrigo were very responsive to our calls/texts. The house has many comfortable places to sit inside and out and the kitchen is well stocked. We really enjoyed our stay.
