Thanks for all, Mario

This is a magical trio of buildings in a magical corner of the world: down a side path, nested in the cloud forest but opposite a craft beer bar with set above it's own lake. From some bedrooms at this elevation in the mountains you can see the sea, or to be more precise the Colorado Gulf; it's over 2h away. For the price of one airbnb you get three buildings, each with their own breakfast space. It's ample of space for groups of 7 and likely more. Fun for card games & hanging out. It's also set in nature, which is fantastic for epic sunsets or when the agutis or a coati wander through for a nibble. We loved that. One tip to consider: it's a rain forest so naturally it rains often and loudly on the roof. If you are a light sleeper and loud rain is a show stopper versus all the other wonderful benefits of this place, I'd factor that into your choice.

We had a fantastic time at Mario's place. The houses were absolutely perfect! Details were well thought out - space heaters and cozy blankets for when it was chilly, umbrellas for each cabin, and fresh towels every day as it rained a lot during our time in Monteverde and things wouldn't have dried out. Mario was very responsive and provided helpful suggestions. The kids got their own cabin which they loved! The location was excellent for us - away from the hustle and hustle of Santa Elena but close to restaurants and the best view in Monteverde is just at the bottom of the road. We wish we could have stayed longer!!

I can’t say enough about this beautiful and wee appointed property. It could not have been more perfect for our family time exploring the magic of Monte Verde. We had both private places to retreat and public places to gather, and the large windows with screens meant we were always connected to the sights and sounds and smells and delightful breezes of the cloud forest, including waking to birds and howler monkeys. We walked to several restaurants and cafes and even a waterfall hike, as well as the delightful brewery across the street. Everything else was a quick drive. If you are looking for an experience of truly connecting with the cloud forest, while being conveniently located close to everything you need or want to enjoy, go no further. We are all dreaming about when we can return. Thank you for the memories of a lifetime for our family group ranging from 3 to 75 years old! ❤️

Had a great stay overall! The location was absolutely clutch for visiting the Monteverde Cloud Forest and exploring the area. We loved all the jungle wildlife visitors around the property—it felt like nature was putting on a show every day. The only small downside was that during the rainy season, the dehumidifier didn’t seem to keep up, so some of the linens had a bit of a musty odor. That said, it wasn’t a major issue because Rubi, the housekeeper, was super helpful and quickly replaced linens and towels whenever needed. We also wish we’d had more time to take the host’s coffee tour—it sounded amazing! Overall, a wonderful stay and a great home base for experiencing Monteverde. PS: Road conditions are not terrible but not for the weak. As mentioned in the description, driveway is narrow. Recommend going head in if not great with reversing up a slope.

We loved our stay here in Monteverde! It was an amazing location, super close to the forest and animal reserves as well as the main town. We loved the 3 separate villa's which were all very comfortable with their own rooms and bathrooms, while outdoor dining area was great for gathering together. The property is beautiful, clean, and well-equipped - if you're quiet enough in the early morning/evenings you'll even see a few birds and critters moving around. Mario was great host, very communicative prior to and during our stay and gave tons of recommendations on what to do. Overall, it was an incredible stay and we'd love to go back!

The property was easy to find and the check-in was a breeze. The pictures in the listing are accurate for the rooms/property and the owner was very prompt in responses to any questions we had. We arrived just after sunset so we did not get to see how beautiful the property was until the next morning. The three co-located units were fun for our family of seven people because it felt like camping in the cloud forest. The property is well kept and the amenities are lovely (i.e., posh bathrooms, comfortable bedding, etc.). The center of Monteverde is a ~20 min walk, but there are plenty of places to eat/visit close to the property. My only criticism of the property is the road dust. The property is on a dirt road and road dust would waft onto the property from passing cars. The dust would coat everything so we kept the windows closed during the day. It also made it unpleasant to spend time at the outside dining table. It finally rained on our 3rd day so it became more tolerable.
