Excellent, 1 month ago

Lovely private space in Cahuita walking distance to restaurants and shops and the beach entrance to the national park. The gardens and outside space were stunning as was the pool area. Lots of wildlife passing by such as monkeys, humming birds and more. Recommended.

Host Response

Thank you Mark, i was happy that you could enjoy your time, even so the weather wasn't the best!

Leslie was a wonderful host, very helpful and kind. The house was absolutely perfect! It was really big, and perfect for our family. We loved the lush garden, lots of animals, and the pool was clean and warm. The house was clean and the outdoorspace was sooo nice. The location is amazing. Next to the national park entrence and close to all the resturants and shops, a short comfortable walk even at night. We really enjoyed our stay i Cahuita and can really recommend staying att Leslies house!

Thank you for choosing our place and i am glad you have great memories here with your family. Puravida!

The place is beautiful. The vegetation is abundant and you can hear the birds singing. You can see the many hummingbirds coming to feed on the flowers. Several monkeys crossed the property during our stay, offering us a real show when they leapt like trapeze artists from tree to tree. Really extraordinary! The house is made for outdoor living. Living room, dining room and kitchen are completely open to the outside. However, the rooms are closed, intimate, quiet and air-conditioned. There are three bathrooms in total that allow everyone to have their own space. The beach, Cahuita Park and restaurants/cafés are 3-4 minutes walk away. Very close, easy to access, but in the evening we don't hear any noise coming from the village. Note, however, that we had to walk about 1 Km in the park before reaching an area of Playa Blanca that was safe for swimming (in December there are waves!!!).

Thank you Dominique, i am so happy that your family came to spend Christmas Holidays here, and that you enjoyed the whole Caribbean experience as well as our special and unique house.

The location is great, an easy walk to the entrance of the National Park as well as to the town. Surrounded by local wildlife. The check out was too early (10am) and it was requested that we take out the garbage at check out. The parking inside the property is not covered and was barely adequate for our mid-sized SUV. We had to unload the roof rack in order to clear the entrance. The gate is heavy and is not electric. The house was clean and a/c in the bedrooms worked well. The different entrances/keys required were a bit cumbersome. The layout of the house is a bit peculiar, with the kitchen in a separate enclosure from the beds/baths. The kitchen windows are heavy and difficult to open, making for poor ventilation. The dining area is completely outdoor, which led to some trouble with mosquitos. The showers are small and the sinks are shallow, making it uncomfortable to properly wash your hands. Better lighting is needed. Overall could use some upgrades, but we enjoyed our stay.

Thank you for your detailed feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the location and proximity to the National Park and town. We appreciate your notes regarding the 10 a.m. check-out time and garbage disposal request—these are standard for our property due to turnover logistics, and we’ll clarify this more clearly in our pre-stay communications. We acknowledge your concerns about the parking space and gate operation. While the driveway accommodates most vehicles, we recognize it can be tight for larger SUVs with roof racks, and the manual gate is indeed heavy but SECURE. We’re evaluating potential improvements for accessibility as there are few challenges to consider with an electrical gate. Regarding the house layout, kitchen ventilation, outdoor dining, and fixture sizes, we understand these aspects may not suit all guests. The design reflects the property’s unique character and as you mentioned there are mosquitoes in the jungle. We’re grateful for your kind words about the cleanliness and AC, and we value your honest input as it helps us improve. Thank you again for choosing to stay with us.

Tropical oasis, close to everything. 2 blocks to national Park 2 blocks to downtown but felt super private. Both the main house and guest house are amazing. Kitchen is well stocked, common area is super comfy. Host is very responsive. Cahuita is definitely in the jungle, the monkeys will wake you up at 5am so bring earplugs if that's not your jam, but so cool to see the wildlife right in the property. The national park was so cool and the town was super friendly and chill. Recommend La Terraza for great food - get the curry. Spotting a sloth is hard, so get a guide for the park (they are at the entrance, no need for a reservation). Leslie the host was super responsive and kind, we definitely plan on coming back!

Amazing home with tons of privacy, but right in the middle of town. Great pool and gardens. We had lots of different bird species, plus several monkeys and some agoutis throughout the yard. Walkable to lots of restaurants and very easy access to the park. Leslie was a great host and helped us organize several outings in the area.
