The host was spot on in communication. Cartagena is a gym, but a product of abusive capitalism. Everyone wants a piece of the dollar and they are not bashful. If you are patient you can save on meals and lodging. This location is about as good as you can get so close to the ocean and decent space, though one room was extremely tiny. The photos look wonderful but the place needs a bit of a touch up; new sheets, new pillows, newer towels, and some fixtures need paint. I did get some cleaner sheets, and a few towels on my own dime, not a prob, since I am a bit picky. There were a few hick ups with the electrical, but the host was very communicative and kept pace with us. He provided transport to and from the airport, provided extra cleaning, and a great list of restaurants. My favorite was Don Ignacio - a must! I went with a 5 star since he was so communicative, but the price is a bit too high. It is too close to Hawaii prices and sadly if this trend remains, Cartagena can lose tourists.
