Great location, a very nice place to stay and calming environment. Enjoyed staying here.

The location of the house is perfect for walking to the parish church and the main squares of downtown San Miguel. The area where it is located is super quiet for resting. They always answered my questions and were very attentive.

We had an amazing stay at this Airbnb! The place was beautiful, spotless, and exactly as pictured. We especially loved the indoor-outdoor living style, it made the whole experience feel so relaxing and unique. The rooftop and dipping pool was a highlight as well. A huge bonus is that the place has AC, which made a big difference on the really hot days. Walkable to all the restaurants and main attractions. Would absolutely stay here again!

Overall, it is a very nice house with lots of amenities. It has very nice décor, and there is privacy in all the bedrooms. I liked sleeping in the bedroom upstairs, but the floor fan made a horrible noise (we had to turn it off), and unfortunately, although it has air conditioning, it is programmed not to change the temperature, so we were very hot. Other than that, everything else was great. It is close to downtown, but the street is very quiet.

The house is very well designed. Each bedroom is private with an attached full bathroom. The first floor has a nice kitchen, living area, powder room and laundry room. There is a lovely private rooftop terrace with a small pool and great views of San Miguel. The pool never got warm but two of us used it as a cold plunge, super refreshing. BTW, we never questioned the owner about the pool heater. I’m sure if we did they would have helped us. Overall, it could use a little TLC. But, we loved it and would stay again. Thank you.

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Nico. José was very attentive to our arrival and any questions we had, answering immediately. The house is very nice and very well equipped, the decoration, the furniture, the textiles. The layout of the house is around the central patio, from which you access the living room and the three bedrooms on the first and second floors, and the terrace. Each bedroom has a full bathroom, and on the terrace there is a small heated pool that we were eager to try... The area is very quiet and very close to downtown San Miguel, you can walk to any point in downtown and also to Fábrica la Aurora (about 15 minutes) We would definitely choose Casa Nico again for a future visit to San Miguel de Allende.

This place is a 5 star for most. Excellent location, beautiful interiors (just like the photos), spacious and incredibly clean! Also, one hidden gem is that the water pressure is excellent!! For us, given the time of year (late December), it was closer to a four star. Let me explain. Given the interior open courtyard and the time of year, the place gets cold at night. And, there is only one heater in the entire property (in the living room). While nice that they have many blankets to help, it does make the going inside and outside uncomfortable. This is our personal preference and, again, I think the place is lovely and most, deservedly, give it 5 stars.

We had a wonderful stay at this place in San Miguel de Allende. The house was exactly as shown in the photos, very cozy, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged. It was the perfect spot to disconnect from the city, relax, and truly enjoy some quiet time. Everything felt welcoming and well taken care of, making it easy to feel at home. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and comfortable getaway.

Perfect stay. It’s as peaceful as you can get in the middle of the city, so you’re tucked away while also near tons of great restaurants and shops. We spent most of our time at home on the rooftop with the jacuzzi and fire pit or in the cozy living room with fireplace. It was so relaxing to stay here. Another reviewer mentioned a neighbor’s dog barking, so I was hesitant to book, but I have to say I barely noticed the dog. So if that has you hesitant, I wouldn’t worry about it— it wasn’t an issue for me at all. There’s some expected city noise but honestly so much less than you would think considering how close you are to everything! I would absolutely stay here again - a beautiful little oasis in the city.

Jaime was very responsive. We had a small issue in one of the bedrooms, and Jaime responded quickly via messages. We did have to contact him again when the caretaker did not show as scheduled to address the problem. Overall, the house was clean and had an interesting floor plan. The a/c was nice and cold in the bedrooms, and the beds were comfortable. A few minor things to note: please add hand soap to the bathrooms and some of the towels were quite musty smelling. A home manual would be helpful.

Great house in a very convenient location. Easily walkable to everything in Centro, Fabrica La Aurora, and more. Would, and likely will, try to rent Casa Nico again in the future.

Host Response

Thank you, Mark, We look forward to hosting you again.

The good and the not so good. Let in by Jose and Augustina was great. Casa is located well and easy walks to most everywhere you’d want to go. Beds very comfortable. The not so good…barking dogs very nearby, almost constant, woke us several nights. Owner and property managers did try to solve this but were not successful. It continued for our entire stay. This home has 3 bedrooms but very little hang out space, we were a group of 4 people and the living room wasn’t really accommodating for all of us. Rooftop deck very small and hot hot sun made it inhospitable during much of day. A well shaded and spacious outdoor space would have been great. I would not come back to this property.

Host Response

Lisa, I am sorry about the dog barking half a block down the street. We talked to the dog owners several times, but unfortunately, and ultimately the dog's behavior was out of our control. We have stayed in our home with 6 people and we have found it to be comfortable. We take pride in our nice home and I am sorry our space was not to your liking nor large enough. It does sadden me since we are very proud of Casa Nico and this is the first time we have received these remarks. I do hope you at least enjoyed the town of SMA.

What a beautiful place! The pictures don’t do it justice. We found out during our visit that this is a traditional home for the area with a central courtyard and terrace. We enjoyed the hot tub and beautiful weather. The central square and a local market are just a few minutes’ walk. We felt very safe, even at night. We took the tour to Tolantongo (a *very* long day but well worth it). Traveled with two daughters in their upper teens and they enjoyed having own space.

This is an absolutely enchanting property. It is beautifully decorated, has all the amenities you might want, and is an excellent example of indoor/outdoor living done right. Furthermore, the location is ideal: close enough to the action around the main square downtown, but far enough to feel private. This was our first time in San Miguel de Allende, and we will definitely stay at Casa Nico on our return visits!

Overall, I really like Casa Nico. Jaime and his team answered us and welcomed us very well, even allowed us to check in early and check out later. The location of the house is very good and close to everything in SMA. However, if I would like to notice that the property is not very child friendly as it has a fountain inside the house and multiple steep stairs. The house is very well maintained but if they should change the sheets and towels since it is seen that they have been quite used and already a little worn.

My family and I loved our stay at Casa Nico. Jose was very responsive and made sure to be waiting for my family and I upon arrival. It is a beautiful home with all the amenities you could need. It is located in a great location, right downtown, many walkable spots. The house is modern yet has the authentic Mexican style. The pictures do not do it justice. I would highly recommend and if ever visiting San Miguel again, this would be to my go to airbnb.

The place was wonderful and the location could not have been better. It was hot!! The air conditioner in one of the bedrooms didn't work and we were never able to get that handled while we were there. Other than that it was great.

Host Response

Barbie, I'm so glad you liked Casa Nico and the location. Sorry for the inconvenience on that one room. It has been an unusually hot spring in San Miguel, keeping AC repairmen very busy.

We love Casa Nico! The house is nicely located in the center of San Miguel and we walked everywhere. We stayed for one month and we were very comfortable. It was nice that each bedroom had its own bathroom for the times we had family visit for a few days. The house has many stairs but that was no issue for us and we enjoyed the roof top lounge. The house was spotless and cleaned weekly during our stay which was perfect and the house manager was extremely responsive. When we return to this magical we will hope to stay at Casa Nico once again.

Excellent location, cleanliness . Beautiful place. We would definitely stay again

Beautiful home in a great location! The photos do not do it justice, it is even more stunning in person. The location is perfect, very walkable but also quiet at night. This space was great for our group that included one couple and 2 singles, everyone had their own space to enjoy. Jose and Jamie were very easy to communicate with and very helpful prior to and throughout our stay. We would definitely recommend this home to our friends and it is a great value for a stay in SMA. We would definitely book this spot again. Thanks so much!

We really enjoyed our stay here! The home is beautiful. The three rooms are spacious. We enjoyed sitting up on the roof and occasionally jumping into the plunge pool. The Airbnb is in a quiet area but is 5-15 minutes walking within every single place we wanted to try in San Miguel de Allende. If you want a lovely home base, I highly recommend this spot!

Great space and very clean

Beautiful home settled in a quiet and convenient location. Loved the open air concept. We communicated with Jose and his wife. Both wonderful people and allowed us to hang out for a few extra minutes after checkin when our flight was cancelled last minute and we needed to find somewhere to go. Only recommendation would be to include instructions for washer/dryer use. We had no issues using the dryer but apparently it made an odd sound after we did one load. We never heard back from the handyman on the cause but instructions might be useful if the machine is touchy. House was very clean and included all amenities we could need. Highly recommend.

The place is wonderful. Very cool layout and so comfortable. It’s a 10/10. And right in the Centro. But what made it even better was Jose and Augustina!! We arrived with a sick child (and we arrived early). Augustina let us in early and was soooo helpful with our kids! And she came every day to tidy up. She’s an amazing person!! Please remember to tip the lovely people who make your trip better. I felt like we were leaving a friend on the last day. Xoxoxo

We couldn’t have asked for a better stay in San Miguel de Allende. The house was beautiful, comfortable, and walkable to everywhere. Our hosts were helpful and very responsive. Will stay here again on our next trip to SMA!

Our trip to San Miguel was all around amazing, but one of the best parts was the service we recieved from Jose and Augustina. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was beyond enjoyable and quickly addressed the one minor issue that we had. One day the pilot light for the hot water went out. We messaged them and Jose came to fix it within a few hours. And Augustina came in to clean up after us, & gave us fresh towels & linens a couple times during our stay. It felt like we were at our own little hotel. Everything about the listing was exactly as described & looked just like the photos. Location was also excellent, within walking distance to almost anything you could need. Would definitely come back again in the future. A++

We loved our stay at Casa Nico. The location was ideal for walking around city center and still having privacy. We walked to art galleries, La Parroquia, Fábrica de Aurora, restaurants, and even the botanical gardens. There’s a shop called Super Samy’s a block over where you can buy water and essentials and a grocery store a few blocks away. The home looked exactly like the photos - beautiful decor and plants, and very clean. Jose, who tends to the home, was very responsive via text if we needed anything and someone came to clean the house on a regular basis, which was especially appreciated because sewage is delicate and most places ask that toilet paper not be flushed. Plenty of room for the five of us to lounge, relax, work, and explore. And the hot tub was excellent! Easy check-in and check-out. I highly recommend a stay here.

Very unique design- open air throughout the structure. Rooftop deck is completely open- so fresh (sometimes cold) air abounds. Rooms are small but very cozy. Heat provided in every room as needed. Bathrooms super nice- lovely showers! Rooftop deck is very pretty with small but super relaxing hot tub. View of the city and stars from the hot tub. Augustina, the housekeeper, is incredible! Such a hard worker and left our place in pristine condition every week. We truly enjoyed our month at Casa Nico. The master bedroom is super comfy and light filled. The only negative is that there a large barking dog across the street that does not stop- but we tuned him out in time. We also had to ask to have the water in the hot tub drained and cleaned when we arrived, but our request was handled promptly. Very nice kitchen - brand new. We found the owner to be extremely responsive to every request. Lots of stairs, which kept us in shape!

An excellent place to spend New Year's Eve in San Miguel. It is a 5-minute walk from downtown, where all the restaurants, the square, stalls and the hustle and bustle are, but it is far enough away and on a quiet street to get some rest. We loved the decor and how every corner of the house is well used. The house has a water filter (to be able to drink), which is much appreciated in Mexico, and the pressure and amount of hot water is excellent. José and his wife (the managers) are very friendly and answered all our questions. Communication with Jaime before our arrival was also quick and clear. We would definitely stay at Nico's again

This is a very lovely and open-air home, boasting a relaxing roof with a fire pit and hot tub (which gets very hot). The bedrooms are nicely spread out, each with its own bathroom and awesome water pressure in the showers. The ground floor had a very functional kitchen, living room with separate remote-controlled fire, and comfortable eating area. We loved that the house was super close to the center but a few blocks removed so the street was quiet and not filled with tourists. Definitely recommend!

We enjoyed our stay - Jaime’s place is ideally situated, is quaint and well equipped and we had a comfortable stay. The house keepers Agustina and Jose were great. Easy walk to the main action in SMA. I would recommend staying here, although there were a couple of surprises; bedrooms are small (particularly the main suite), the ‘flow’ of the house was awkward for us (all rooms are effectively separate around an open air courtyard), and for us it was pretty noisy (although it was partly the firecrackers common at Christmas time). During winter months it feels less cosy (tiled floors, no rugs, open air courtyard). However Agustina and Jose were very helpful around organizing extra blankets and giving local shopping suggestions. And San Miguel is beautiful ( if more traffic- ridden than we expected!).

We loved the house, it has a beautiful design and architecture, it is small but cozy, although it is 3 floors with many stairs, it is very well equipped, and the Jacuzzi on the terrace is an incredible plus, the location is excellent, in general we liked it a lot and we had a very pleasant time. Two details that I hope can be corrected, the smell of the drain in the kitchen, we didn't really spend much time there but when we went down it did give off a strong smell, and well, something that was not very pleasant was that they gave us the car all dusty from the parking lot. But overall the stay was very pleasant.
