Overall great location and great place. Youbi is a very responsive host and super helpful! The place even had a blender which I haven’t seen very often in Airbnbs! Really enjoyed our stay. We even got to see howler monkeys from the porch while drinking coffee!

The place is not as it looked in the photos; the layout is different, things are missing, and it looked like the place hadn't been maintained in a very long time. It didn't have curtains all around, so privacy is sometimes questionable if you can be seen from where the cars are. The shower drain is not working properly; after a while, the bathroom would fill up. The sink faucet wanders all over the sink. The apartment was greasy; it felt weird. When we arrived, there was no hand soap in the bathroom, and the pillows on the bed smelled strange. The handle on one of the house doors didn't work; it was loose, and the lock was faulty, so the house remained open; you just had to slide the window shut. Regarding parking, they should provide a parking space, as a quad bike cut us off while we were pulling the car in. And you can hear everything between the upstairs and downstairs floors...

Youbi is a very welcoming and sweet host. It was a joy to meet him and stay in this place

Host Response

🙏🙏🙏

Youbi's accommodation, although rustic and in keeping with the natural forest environment, did not meet our expectations due to certain drawbacks. The house has several leaks that allow insects and animals to enter, which generated a somewhat uncomfortable experience. On one of the nights, a skunk even entered the house and took food, which affected our rest and well-being. Despite this situation, we appreciate Youbi's attitude as a host. He was very attentive and offered to move us to another cabin for two days while the problem was solved, in addition to committing to close the place where the animal entered. However, the presence of worms and spiders inside the house contributed to the general discomfort. Unfortunately, due to these issues, we do not plan to return to this place in the future. However, I want to emphasize Youbi's hospitality, who always kept in touch and was helpful

Youbi’s place was excellent- a true escape in the heart of a busy town. Beautiful and relaxing, exactly as described and well worth the money. Youbi was amazing and gave us many local recommendations all of which were excellent. The only downfall- the doors and windows don’t lock- we kept our passports / valuables in the car. The area is super safe, so it’s not an issue unless you have a paranoid girlfriend like mine!! You have to be aware that it is indoor/outdoor living and as a result, there are bugs; cockroaches, ants, wasps, spiders, which made the place feel dirtier then it was. It was worth it for the tranquility but worth noting. A 4x4 is certainly needed too! Youbi’s directions were great, but we’d recommend arriving during the day to locate (and make the most of the sunset!!) A perfect location for a couple of nights but wouldn’t stay much longer. We would return despite this. We really loved Santa Teresa :)

Santa Teresa is a beautiful area and initially we were very happy with Youbi's place. The flat is spacious and well equipped, the area is quiet aside from dogs occasionally barking and and has lovely views of the ocean. Unfortunately our stay was marred by what Youbi said was a skunk gaining access to the house. It ate our food (Youbi forgot to mention to put all our food in the fridge) and clearly has access to the entire studio, leaving droppings around our belongings and urine on the bathroom floor. Youbi was aware of this issue beforehand. If the pest issue were sorted, this would be a wonderful find. Unfortunately I cannot recommend the studio as it stands and we did not have a restful stay.

Host Response

I am deeply sorry about the skunk issue. I was aware of the skunk living close to the house, but I was not aware that he had found a way to get inside of the house. I have found the access and blocked it so the skunk can't get in the house anymore.

We spend five nights of our holidays in Santa Teresa, Puntarenas; and we choose to stay in the space offered by Youbi. Really Youbi was very empathetic with us, he gave us information on how to get there and how to go to our next destination in public transport (no rentamos automovil). Nos brindo bus schedules and locations, for example. The accommodation is very private and gives the feeling of being in the middle of the jungle. It is accessed by climbing up on foot for about '10 which makes this a bit difficult for elderly or people with health problems (it has two short but very steep sectors). Tip, if they wash a car that is 4x4 and the difficulty disappears. Mas alla de este, I would stay here again without a doubt, the place is located within the jungle and the feeling is indescribable. Lastly, when we had a problem with the hot water Youbi approached immediately and I fix it in a few minutes. Pura Vida!!!

We stayed in the studio at Youbi’s, and it was amazing. Exactly what we were looking for. The place was easy to find with google maps and his description of directions. Definitely need 4x4 to get up hill to property. It was peaceful, and the views were beautiful! As well as the almost daily visits from Monkeys right outside the patio. The studio was very clean and comfortable, and had all the necessities for a relaxing stay. Youbi was the best! So helpful, and just made us feel safe and welcomed. We will 100% be staying with him again.

The view and the quiet area is the absolute highlight of this place!

Youbi was an incredible host, as others have mentioned, he is a super friendly chap, and always a pleasure to run into. The place is the Jungle retreat of our dreams! Up a steep hill over looking Santa Teresa beach and the surrounding foliage, you will be woken by incredible bird song, insect chirps, and the unforgettable howler monkeys. It's a great place to watch the sunset, or the impressive Night Thunder Storms, depending on which season you visit. The air conditioning was a slice of luxury, it what felt like a beautiful Tree house made for adults. The hill may be something you want to tackle with a 4x4 or an ATV, but honestly most days we just walked up and down it from the beach. You will see crabs, geckos, iguanas and howlers on your way back from the main strip/beach this way.

If you love and appreciate nature, this is the place to be! The house is on a hill with beautiful views of the sea and surrounded by exotic plants. At night you can fall asleep with barbecue noises and sea sounds and in the morning you can hear the birds or howler monkeys that also come to visit the nearby trees from time to time. The furnishings are simple but everything you need is there. Super shower (always hot water and strong jet) and comfortable bed (on request also with mosquito net) We enjoyed our stay very much and communication with Youbi was super friendly. We will be back!

Youbi is a great host and human being. I guess the house provided used to be very nice as well. Now, it needs maintenance…. There are a few holes and cracks and the overall status is a bit unattended. When I booked the place I thought it would be directly at the beach, but in reality, you have to go up a very steep hill, which we couldn’t do with our car (no 4x4, our fault of course). Youbi helped us to bring it up in the evening, which was very nice of him. The view is also fantastic. The bed was very comfortable and it has a mosquito net, which you can use it if you want!!

Host Response

Dear Lukas, you say that you were expecting to be near the beach, that means that you didn't read the description of the place neither the reviews. It clearly specified that you need a 4WD, nonetheless I came to pick you up and I drove you to your car on departure day. I suggest that before you make a reservation you read the description, wish obviously you didn't do.

Youbi picked us up and helped us to drive our car upwards the steep street (we had a 2wd). He was so incredibly friendly and helpful, the well maintained airbnb is made with a lot of lovely details, Youbi does a lot to keep it safe, clean, private and maintained all the time. being surrounded by animals (your neighbours will be some small monkeys :) and nature give you a relaxing time of the busy santa teresa mainroad. Exactly what we were searching for! Its just a walk 6-7 minutes down and to the beach, the location is great! it was just a the best to drink a nice coffee on the terrace while having a stunning sea view. There are also nice restaurants around! Personally I have never experienced such a nice and proactive and helpful host on aribnb, I immediatley felt like home, Youbi treated us like family! We are so thankful for the experience and we were truly melancholic when we had to leave. If you think about staying in Santa Teresa: Don't heasitate and stay at Youbi's place! <3

The accommodation is really special. The view was very nice and the place itself was large and bright. The terrace with the hammock is also cozy. Youbi was an great host: super helpful and easily accessible. You just need to be aware that you're in an open treehouse. There are large gaps between doors and walls. That means you can't have a problem with different insects. The double bed was protected with a mosquito net, I bought a net in the supermarket for the single bed. Maybe it's different outside of the rainy season, but we would have wanted fly screens or opaque doors.

Very well positioned in Santa Teresa. Nearby beach entrance, nearby restaurants and grocery store. On the other hand, despite the many reviews that were talking about, I was really surprised by the stiffness of the coast to get to Airbnb. We had a 4X4, but mainly wanted to get around on foot and the coast is really not pleasant to climb. Also, it's not clear with the photos, but the structure of the space leaves a little to be desired… There are several large holes that allow ants to come into the space as they see fit. There are also likely to find locks and other insects there. If you stay a few nights, it's not the end of the world, but when you stay for a long time, it ends up being a little tanning. I was also disappointed to notice that the shower water is only flowing outside the home. On the other hand, Youbi responds to questions very quickly and is very kind. Wifi and air conditioning worked well

I can only say good things about Youbi and his place. The place is on a hill with a stunning view of the Ocean !. It's a very rustic place built with logs, in very serene and green surroundings. You get the living-in-the-woods experience ! The wi-fi was good and I could remotely work without any issues. The place is about 10mins walk to the beach. It's better to have a 4WD or an ATV, as the walk up to the house is on a steep slope. Youbi is a very kind person, super helpful and responsive, a rarity in the Airbnb world. He came to pick us up and show the directions to his place when we arrived. He dropped us to the shuttle stop on the day we were leaving. He dropped and picked me up from the place where I rented the ATV. . He personally took me and introduced me to the guy who rented the surf boards. I can go on and on. He is always available, helpful and cheerful. I will without any hesitation stay again at his place when I visit Santa Teresa again !

Staying at Youbi's Santa Teresa property was a memorable experience. The host, Youbi, was remarkably attentive, promptly addressing any concerns and providing invaluable local recommendations. The highlight is undoubtedly the stunning ocean view; waking up to it was surreal. Inside, there's ample space, and a basic kitchen catering to essential needs. The place exudes rustic charm, reminiscent of a cabin. There are gaps between the doors, walls, and windows that might invite a few insects, but the effective air conditioning ensured comfort. A heads-up for future guests: an all-wheel-drive vehicle is a must due to the steep, unpaved approach. Despite this, the beauty and hospitality make it wholly worthwhile. For an authentic Costa Rican experience with an exceptional host, Youbi's place is a top choice.

Youbi is a very chill and friendly guy. He was always very quick to respond to any questions I had. The nature surrounding the Airbnb was amazing, seeing different birds, squirrels, lizards, cats, and even monkeys all from the outside deck. The only downside of this Airbnb is the great hill leading up to it, my boyfriend and I rented an atv while we were there and that seemed like the best way to get around. If you’re planning on traveling without a vehicle it might be tough for you. Overall had a 5/5 experience and would come back to Youbi’s place for sure!

We spent 8 amazing days in Santa Teresa at Youbi’s apartment. It felt more like staying with friends than at an Airbnb. Youbi is a great host and gave us lots of helpful recommendations where to go or eat in Santa Teresa. The House is located on a steep hill which is a bit tricky to drive if you have a car without 4x4. Youbi picked us up at the beginning of the road and showed us how to drive the car up so we didn’t have any further issues with that during our stay. You can also just walk down the hill to the beach or a small supermarket in 10-15min. The apartment was as described and the view was really amazing. The bed is very comfortable and Youbi also organized a baby bed for our son he really liked to sleep in. The house is surrounded by nature and the walls and doors are not completely sealed, so inevitably some insects were here and there but that didn’t bother us much. It’s a great place to stay in Santa Teresa :)

Youbi is one of the best hosts I’ve ever stayed with. He was there to greet us upon arrival, gave extremely helpful recommendations and information about the area, and was super quick to respond to any question we had. The place is exactly as pictured online, and the view is literally unbeatable for sunsets. It was peaceful, private, and clean. The place is up a pretty steep/rocky hill, so a 4x4 car was pretty useful in getting to and from the main road that runs through town. Be wary, there are bugs as you are up near the trees, but he has a bug zapper and mosquito net around the bed in the apartment which was great. Overall a great stay in Santa Teresa!

I cannot recommend this property enough!! Our experience at this Air B&B was our favorite part of our trip to Santa Teresa. The beach view is breathtaking. The space is very clean and the patio is wonderful. Our favorite part was the MONKEYS!!!! Yubi told us that everyday the monkeys come climbing through the trees. We saw at least 20 on many different occasions. The property is secluded and private but a very short walk to town which was great. Yubi is one of the nicest owners we have met. He greeted us at the drive way and was very helpful in showing us the property and telling us about Santa Teresa. He had wonderful recommendations and knew about beach spots that we would never have found if not for him. I wouldn’t have wanted to stay anywhere else. Absolutely wonderful stay. We will be back

The best thing about the place is the host, Youbi! Super friendly, of those people who make you feel at home and very comfortable, and the man is super genuine too, you can tell that he doesn't do things by commitment. I recommend the place to those looking for value for their money and above all PEACE and quiet! I'm very sensitive to noise and the truth is that this aspect was excellent, only the sea could be heard in the background 🙂 The very tuanis views of the sea and the place is very safe, going out to the main street there is a supermarket 100 meters away and several good restaurants. I would go back right here without looking for another place, that's a fact.
