7BR Villa in Ixtapa

Excellent, 1 month ago

Wonderful place for a large group! Having breakfast included and the option to hire the cook for additional meals is a real highlight. Rosa is an excellent cook, her meals were greatly appreciated by everyone. The daily housekeeping throughout the entire house adds a lovely hotel-like touch and makes the stay especially comfortable. The views are breathtaking and make the location truly special. The only point worth noting is that access to the house involves around 100 stairs, which can be challenging, particularly when carrying luggage or for guests with limited mobility. However, this is clearly stated in the property listing, so it comes as no surprise and allows guests to plan accordingly. We were grateful to receive help with carrying our luggage, which made the experience much easier. While the climb requires some effort, it soon becomes part of the experience, and the views at the top are worth it. We had a fantastic stay and happily recommend this property!

It's a beautiful house, and you can enjoy it a lot with its two pools. The breakfasts were very delicious and above all, the view is amazing. We were very comfortable with the family, despite the number of stairs (which we knew about beforehand) and the fact that there were older people. So everything was very nice. We really enjoyed the space. Thank you very much.

My family and I were delighted. The ladies who help them in the kitchen are very clean, very approachable, and they helped us with food for more days (with extra cost). They took care of all the shopping for us. The cleaning lady was great. The young man, Joaquín, was very nice and very accessible. We would definitely stay again. The house is beautiful. Just the stairs, but everything else is great. We're very close to the beach. They also sent some young people to help us with our luggage. Really, the service is 100,000/10. It's the best house I've ever been to 🪄

This place was truly beautiful and we loved our stay here. Joaquin was incredibly responsive and answered any and all of our questions. The staff on site was also friendly and helpful. They prepared wonderful food for us during our time there for breakfast and lunch. We really loved our time here and would definitely come back to this airbnb. I would mention one thing, in the description it wasn't super clear that there were a significant amount of stairs. Our group was fine navigating up and down and the staff helped with bringing food and luggage into the home. Zihuantanenjo was truly a stunning place and our home away from home at Casa Cielo was wonderful.

Super spacious and beautiful house with a beautiful view. Very comfortable, very clean, with everything you could need in the kitchen. The breakfast service they offer is very well presented and the service girls are very efficient and willing to help, at an extra cost, to prepare more food to solve all the meals of the day. The social area is very nice for groups, very close to Playa de la Ropa (5 minutes walk, take into account that it is a steep slope to come and go), which for me is the most beautiful in the area. It has two small but sufficient pools. Restaurants nearby within walking distance. Not suitable for people with limited mobility due to the large number of stairs to get to the house. The staff welcomes you to help you carry your luggage. I would definitely come back.

Our time at Casa del Cielo was absolutely magical! The property itself is a true gem—the rooms were bathed in natural light, and the elegant mix of white tones and wood created a serene, relaxing atmosphere. The bathrooms were stunning, and the entire space exuded a peaceful, beautiful vibe. The common area was perfect for our group of 13. We spent hours together playing board games, enjoying cocktails, and simply unwinding. The two pools were a bonus, offering the ideal spot for a refreshing dip. We also had the pleasure of booking the private chefs, Rosa and Cristina, for daily breakfast and dinner—and wow, the food was out of this world! They truly spoiled us, asking for our favorite juices and making them fresh every day. One day, when we needed flowers, they surprised us by picking up gorgeous arrangements. Narci, the housekeeper, was an absolute delight. She kept our rooms immaculate each day, adding such a nice personal touch to our stay.

House was ideally located between La Ropa beach and town with fantastic views of the whole area - though do be aware of the steps to the property. For me I enjoyed the exercise each day, but if you’re not happy with climbing the stairs, it could be less appealing. We were assisted with luggage at start and end of the stay. The property on 4 levels and was very spacious. The main floor area with kitchen/pool is a perfect setting for groups to meet and enjoy time together. The added convenience of having staff prepare continental breakfast and clean rooms daily was perfect for a relaxing break. Host was very accommodating to our needs and very responsive each time we had a question.

This is our second time staying at one of Maru and Joaquin’s homes. We couldn’t have loved this experience more. The house was situated perfectly providing the most beautiful views from every room and the best sunsets every night. The communal space is large and perfect for our group of 10 who were celebrating a milestone birthday. The staff were incredible- there every day to provide breakfast and any other meals we requested. They kept the space clean and tidy allowing us to truly relax. Our rooms were cleaned daily as well. It was so luxurious!! The meals at home were our favorite out of any meals we had in Zihua. The hosts were so kind and responsive- we TRULY felt so taken care of. We had massages in the home as well, another incredible luxury. I can’t speak about this home highly enough. We can’t wait to return! Thank you again Maru, Joaquín and staff for this incredible stay. We will remember it always.

13 of us stayed at Casa Cielo for a family reunion for two heavenly weeks. This place was amazing. Both the beauty of the location and the luxury and comfort of the casa were outstanding. But what really made Casa Cielo special for us was the kindness, expertise and flexibility of the staff. Christina, Rosa, Sergio and Narcy were friendly, gracious, and funny. They prepared our beautiful breakfast every day and kept the place spotless. They accomdated our schedule and our two picky eaters. For a reasonable extra fee they prepared traditional Mexican dishes for both our 10:00am breakfast and our 3:30pm lunch. I had a cold, and without my even asking they prepared a traditional cough remedy for me every day. We hated saying goodbye after two relaxing weeks of massages, yoga, swimming and snorkeling at the beach, fishing, walking to town, and watching the beautiful sunsets from the outside common areas of Casa Cielo. Definitely worth the money.

Host Response

It was a great pleasure! We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Casa del Cielo. Our team was very happy to take care of you and your beautiful family. Welcome anytime! 🌞

We were canceled the reservation at the last minute when we were already at the destination, we were from Morelia, we are a family of 15, we had to look for another place to stay, terrible!! If they can not book with them.

Host Response

We would have been happy to be able to attend you. We didn't have the taste for a calendar issue, which I warned you on the day you booked. I'm sorry about the situation, again.

The house is amazing and was perfect for our group of 12. It is well located with the beach in front just a few minutes walk. The views of the house are spectacular. Joaquín is a very friendly host, attentive and helped us with any orders we had. It was a pleasure to communicate with him. The Narci and Sergio staff are excellent and took care of the house very well. If I would return to Zihua with a group, it would stay at Casa del cielo 100%!

We had an absolutely incredible stay at Casa Cielo in Zihuatanejo. The first thing that struck us upon entering the house were the stunning views from every single room. The house itself was spacious and comfortable, providing ample room for our family of five. One of the highlights of our stay was hiring Evelyn for daily yoga, meditation, and stretching sessions. She was an incredible instructor. Another highlight was the daily massages we received from the the hired masseuses! Highly recommend! Each morning, we were treated to a delicious breakfast prepared by the talented staff. Throughout our stay, Joaquín, the host, was incredibly responsive and helpful. He promptly answered all of our questions and ensured that we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. His attentiveness and dedication to his guests' satisfaction were truly commendable.

This was the most beautiful home I've ever stayed in and was an absolutely perfect place for a weekend getaway with a large group. Maru and Joaquin were exceptionally responsive and helped provide us with all the services we needed (airport transport, dining, entertainment, etc.). This was especially helpful since we were traveling internationally. I will say that the stairs up to the house are no joke, so be prepared for a little exercise on your way up and down! But, the views from the house are stunning and the 15-min walk to town/the beach was straightforward and gorgeous. Cannot recommend this place enough for a stress-free vacation in a tropical paradise!

We had a fantastic week in Zihua! Casa del Cielo was perfect for our group of 6 adults and 6 children. The house managers and staff were very accommodating and responsive. The house is beautiful and clean, the view is fantastic, and the location was perfect for us. One thing to note is that there are LOTS of stairs, and also while the location is super walkable, the streets have steep inclines. So, if you are fit and/or don't mind some extra exercise in your day, this is the place for you!

Host Response

Than you Cleo, it was a great pleasure.

Casa del Cielo was perfect! My wife and I have stayed at a few other boutique villas in Zihua in the past but we were joined on this trip by our 3 teenagers...and this location accommodated those needs exceptionally well. The views, individual rooms, outdoor spaces and location were perfect. We walked everywhere. Joaquin is the most attentive host we've ever had, anywhere...always quick with responses within minutes and checking in with us periodically during our stay to make sure everything was great. The on-site staff was also fantastic. We asked Fide to prepare a few extra lunches and dinners...her recipes were authentic and oh so tasty! We will definitely plan to return to this property, either with the family or with multiple couples/families. This place is special.

Casa de Cielo exceeded our expectations in every way. For a family vacation for 17, the place couldn't have been more perfect. Every bedroom was private, unique, and had a bathroom. The central "living room" was large and comfortable, ideal for seating a crowd, seeing the view, or joining the party while lounging inside one of two lovely pools. The food was fantastic. The wonderful cooks were accommodating for vegetarians, allergies, and gluten-free diets, simultaneously! Portions were generous. All of the staff were gracious, friendly, and eager to please. Joaquin contracted a few outings for us to snorkel and kayak, and these were exceptional as well. We have done many large, family vacations and this one was truly the best!

Wonderful one week stay for our group of seven. We rented entire home and were treated to week of impeccable service, views and luxury. In addition to the included breakfast we paid for Fida to cook all meals for five days. Her meals were quite tasty, plentiful and reasonably priced. Narcy was attentive to our needs and kept our rooms well maintained. Location was great. Five-minute walk to La Ropa beach (nicest beach in area) and 20-minute walk to town along beautiful beach boardwalk. We walked to town every day. As others have mentioned the only downside are the 150+ steps to access the property. I highly recommend renting entire home especially for party of 10 or more. Joaquin, our host/owner kept in close contact to make sure our needs were met. He put us in touch with Rita informacion@toursytips who ably set up all of excursions including fishing, diving, naturalist tour and fabulous food tour.

Prepare yourself for a little slice of heaven if you choose to stay at Casa de Cielo. If you can manage the 100+ steps that take you up to the house, you will find yourself in a dreamy paradise. All the rooms are unique in their beauty and simplicity. The shared spaces are serene and comfortable. You will have the exquisite pleasure of being cared for by the house staff, Narci, Fide and Edgar. They will prepare a lovely simple breakfast for you each morning, but the real treat comes if you ask Fide to cook a meal for you. Her food is amazing! Casa de Cielo is perfect for a large group (we were 8 adults). You can truly let go and relax at Casa de Cielo. You don't need to leave the house to have a perfect vacation, but if you want to venture out, access to Playa La Ropa is right across the road, and you have many options for great restaurants in town. We hired a fishing boat and crew, which included a stop at Playa Las Gatas, where our morning's catch was transformed into an incredible meal at one of the restaurants right on the beach. If you're a surfer (or want to learn) take a drive 40 minutes up the coast to La Saladita for the waves. Joaquin was an impeccable host. He is very responsive, answered all our questions within minutes and offered some great suggestions for places to go. I highly recommend Casa de Cielo!

Maru and Joaquin were amazing hosts. They responded quickly to any questions we had very quickly even helping us schedule COVID test prior to our return to the US. Their house team, Fide, Narci and Edgar were nothing but helpful and kind as well. The home is well maintained and contains everything you need to enjoy your stay in Zihua. We rented with 11 adults and 2 kids and we had more than enough room. As the listing mentions, there are a lot of stairs so keep that in mind. We did do them for exercise one morning climbing up and down 12 times. I would not recommend this location if you have individuals in your party who might have trouble with regularly climbing or young children, but overall still great. My two kids (4 & 8) did fine pretty much daily as we came and went.

Stayed here for a family vacation over Christmas. We rented the entire place as we were ten people (8 adults and 2 children). We cannot say enough about this place. From the beginning Joaquín was beyond helpful; we had many questions and requests and he accommodated everything he could, including Covid tests at the property before we left. He was very easy to communicate with and always helpful, patient, and flexible. The staff is lovely. Fide is an amazing cook and Narci is very helpful. The property has a stunning view which can’t be beat! It is very clean and each room has its own charm. The stairs are no lie and not for the faint of heart. Worth it every time and you get used to it, but it is not suitable for anyone with mobility or health issues unfortunately. You can walk to town in ten minutes or take a cab. Beach is straight down the hill. So many amazing restaurants or eat at home. Fife’s food can’t be beat honestly! We would highly recommend it for families as everyone has their own space, but easily you can all be together. It was our first trip to Zihuatanejo and it really made the decision for us to go back. Can’t say enough about this place. We were all blown away by the hospitality and overall experience.

This is a beautiful home with great service and attention to detail and comfort. We had daily breakfast and five dinners prepared by Fide and we cannot say enough about her culinary skills!! Definitely something that is special about this stay. We were a family/friends group of 17 and the space was perfect. All bedrooms have delicious air conditioning, which is essential if July. The best beach we visited was La Ropa- down the stairs, cross the street and go left, then make right at Casa Que Canta and follow the driveway/street down to the beach. Be aware that masks are required when “entering” beach and then can be removed. Also note that there are mosquitoes so bring some type of repellent. You will love staying here!!!

Joaquin and Maru are wonderful, kind, accommodating hosts. Their communication with you as you enjoy their BEAUTIFUL home is outstanding. Their home is perfectly situated above LaRopa beach and the city center. Views are to die for! Meals prepared by their chef were all gourmet. They were able to accommodate a severe nut allergy, food preferences, and kept our entire family content. Most special, however, is that our family felt like we were in our own home the entire two weeks we visited. When we return, we will stay here again! Thank you!

Maru and Joaquin were incredibly attentive. Even before our stay, they contacted us to find out our arrival time, and we received the warmest welcome. The house staff are super friendly and always willing to help with anything. The food they prepare is delicious, and the house is beautiful and spotlessly clean! Any questions we had about activities in Zihuatanejo were answered in great detail. Without a doubt, they are the best hosts I have had the opportunity to stay with on Airbnb. Everything was amazing, highly recommended!

Beautiful house with all the amenities for an incredible vacation in Zihuatanejo. The house's layout makes it special and well thought out for an unforgettable vacation. The staff were always attentive, and the facilities were 100%. The challenge of spending a few days in this house is getting up the stairs, but you forget about it once you open the door and discover every corner of this house. The attention and communication with Joaquín incredible, always attentive to needs. We will definitely return.

I truly loved our experience here. It is definitely better than I could’ve ever imagined! Everybody was so kind and even though you do not know Spanish, they are accommodating and willing to assist you in anyway possible with any language barrier. I do want to reiterate that this location is mostly based outside and although they do have tons of air-conditioning and fans, you will want to expect that you’ll be hot if you’re not from around there. The stairs to get up and down our tedious but frankly it was a great work out and if you can get past the stairs, then this is definitely the place for you. The view is worth it!

My family of 7 stayed at Casa del Cielo for about a week and a half, while Guerrero was under quarantine. The house was stunning, with incredible ocean views from most rooms. There are special design touches throughout, from the Cielo neon sign at the entry, to patterned pebble floors, thoughtful placement of windows for privacy and ocean cross-breezes, and multiple rooms that could qualify as the best room in the house (hammocks, bathtubs, outdoor showers). The staff is welcoming, and you can make adjustments to their presence (we preferred to cook for ourselves using the well-equipped kitchen and have privacy for some of the visit). There were lots of quiet spaces in the house to relax during the day. The house is within walking distance of Playa la Ropa (unfortunately beaches were closed for the entire visit, but we were able to walk on the beach earlier in the morning), but be aware there are many stairs and staff can assist with luggage. Joaquín and staff were available for questions and were quick to address some initial concerns around what to expect for meals. He was in touch with multiple people in our party during the visit. He even sent information about restaurants open for takeout. At the end of the trip we were all enchanted with the Zihua, it’s residents and the house!

Casa del Cielo was a piece of paradise with beautiful views. Our group of 9 was very comfortable in the 5 bedrooms overlooking the bay. Our ages ranged from 40's-70's (most in their 50's and 60's) and many of us stayed for 10 days. During that time we took the stairs many, many times with no problems. It actually helped us work off all the calories we took in at the many excellent restaurants nearby. The 2 pools were a welcome relief after our stair climbs. Gemma and Adriana served us breakfast everyday and kept the house very clean. Carlos took care of the maintenance and helped us with whatever we needed and even arranged some day tours for us. They were all a wonderful addition to the household. Playa la Ropa was about a 5 minute walk or 10 minutes to many of the restaurants, Playa la Madera about 10 minutes, and the pier about 15 minutes. There was an excellent bakery within a 7 minute walk. Playa las Gatas was a 45 minutes walk for those more adventurous. If you prefer taxis, they stopped right at the bottom of our stairs. Joaquin was an excellent communicator, and checked in with us on very often to make sure everything was OK. This was a great place for family or groups of friends. Spacious enough to never feel crowded.

Marvelous is the best word to describe our experience at Joaquin and Maru's hidden gem. Everything was amazing, from the comfy beds to the breakfast ( toast, jam, fresh fruit, tea, coffee and orange juice for those who are curious ). The rooms are tidied everyday by the super sweet Gemma and Javier was extremely accomadating to special requests ( grocery shopping, transportation, preparing light midday snacks ). Joaquin, although not physically there, had no trouble making us feel at home as if he were there himself. He truly cares about his guests and it shows. I can't wait to come back, whether it be at Casa del Cielo or any other properties he manages. Utterly superb.

The best: an EXCELLENT view. The least favorite: the stairs. It took a little bit to adapt to the heat and mosquitoes... but it's part of being on the beach, right? Excellent service, daily cleaning, delicious fruit for breakfast. Although the whole family shared the house, every room was private, with a wonderful view. Many very recommended options for eating around and easy to get to the beach (with a lot of willingness to face the stairs).
