Our experience at Casa Lulua Maria and the apartment were really great. Although the apartment is small, it is modern, very clean, and well equipped. We were particularly pleasantly surprised by the kitchen and the bathroom, and we loved that we were allowed to use the washing machine. Maria herself was available at all times, incredibly warm, and always helpful – we are very grateful for that. However, for us personally, the surroundings were challenging. The neighborhood seemed quite run-down, and the background noise was very bothersome for us. Dogs and roosters were very noisy starting at 4:00 a.m., and a neighbor kept playing extremely loud music. For people who are sensitive to noise, this could be challenging. Unfortunately, we ourselves hardly slept for three nights and were ultimately glad to be able to leave early. Maria and the apartment are highly recommended – only the location wasn’t right for us personally.

In the photos it looked much bigger than it really was, it looked more like a room with two double beds, the beds were uncomfortable, it was like a camping mattress, we ended up very sore. If it weren't for the lady who helped us with everything, we would give a worse rating

The hostess was very friendly and helpful. We found the room a little too small for 4 people. The beach is nearby and very nice!

It’s worth the price on Costa Rica prices to just have a clean modern apartment with the basics for cooking. We enjoyed our night here.

We had a lovely stay here! Great location, 2 min walk from the beach and we could walk the beach down all the way to the main beach spot (about 10-15 min walk). The woman who manages the airbnb was very sweet and super flexible, great communication!

Such a wonderful and kind host! This place had everything we needed, full kitchen, nice bathroom, and a tv with Netflix. The host was very kind and helpful. The location of this place was a bit far away from the main busy shops and restaurants but was super close to the beach.

The place was clean and functional, the beach quickly accessible, stable Wi-Fi. The on-site support was very helpful and extremely friendly. Full recommendation to travelers who love and want to get to know the life of the residents

Lovely place to stay. Maria was such a lovely host. Very helpful and always smiling and made us feel very welcome. She helped us navigate the washing machine and provided us with fresh coconut and local recommendations. Property close to the beach (2 mins walk) in a non touristy area amidst very friendly locals. Fish shop 2 doors away where you can buy catch of the day at a reasonable price. Lovely balcony to sit out on but close to neighbours. Nice to have a kitchen and equipment to cook for self make tea coffee etc. Would highly recommend.

despite the fruits of surrounding animals, especially the dogs, we enjoyed our stay. the accommodation is in the heart of local life but not in the city center

Nice, cozy place among the locals. 3 min walk to the beach. Everything present. Maria is a very friendly host, she had even baked us fish with a family recipe, it was super tasty! She has explained a lot about the region and customs of Costa Rica.
