3BR Villa in Salinas Grandes

Thank you very much, Doug. The house is super nice and gives you a feeling of peace that is hard to find. A secluded beach that is a haven of peace. The people who take care of the place, Mrs. Epifania and her husband, are very attentive. Thank you so much.

Our stay at Tres Volcanes Ocean Villa was very pleasant overall. The property is easy to reach, with clear directions on Waze and Google Maps, and the road is accessible. Upon arrival, the house was clean, well organized, and ready for our stay. The pool was crystal clear, with a beautiful ocean view and stunning sunsets. The kitchen is spacious and bright, with a breakfast bar and open connection to the living room, dining area, and terrace, making it ideal for groups. For a house that accommodates 10 people, additional glasses and coffee mugs would be helpful. The wooden sun loungers by the pool show some wear and they didn't have cushions. The villa is very beautiful, with spectacular coastal views. The rooftop (third floor) offers breathtaking views of the volcanoes and salt flats, which was a highlight of our stay. With routine maintenance, such as repairing some glass doors and faucets, and also relocating the grill closer to the pool area, the experience could be even better.

This is a bit long, but necessary to share: The house did not fully match what was advertised on Airbnb, since the photos are outdated and do not reflect the current condition. The first night we considered to leave the house and cancel the reservation. There were issues with cleanliness and functionality: non-working AC, fans with problems, a dirty and non-functional kitchen and oven, a partially working fridge, plumbing issues, and initially unsafe drinking water. Sheets, walls, and toilets were in bad conditions and some furniture were missing. The house needs urgently be renovated. The manager responded quickly, but solutions were limited. The beach is private and location nice, though access is difficult due to the road. Overall, the experience did not meet expectations or justify the price.

This place felt like a little piece of heaven. The ocean view was absolutely breathtaking, and waking up to the beach right outside our window was unforgettable. The house itself is a bit outdated, but with a little TLC, it could be truly impeccable. Getting there was a bit of a challenge due to the rough road, but thankfully the weather was on our side and the drive in was smooth. Overall, a beautiful and peaceful escape—I’d definitely come back!

We used the GPS coordinates provided to find this piece of paradise. This remote, one of a kind house offers the most unique setting in the Salinas Grandes area. The blessing of spectacular sunrises, sunsets and stargazing EVERYDAY made perfect bookends to each day of fishing, beach exploring, surfing, boogie boarding and more. The lower bedroom is air conditioned but the upstairs bedrooms remain pleasant with the cross breeze and fans - and a spectacular view. The pool was surprisingly refreshing in the 35'C daily temps and shade was plentiful in the afternoons. Marcia and Yahosca went above and beyond to make our stay incredible. Authentic Nica meals, clean grounds/pool daily and a tidy house (meals were an extra fee but well worth it!) Spanish is a must in this part of Nicaragua, or a live translator app will do too. We went many days without seeing anyone else on the beach at all - it was a perfect paradise for our family vacation and we can't wait to return! Thank you!

If you are looking for a peaceful area this is the perfect place. Very nice seaside with swimming pool suitable for young and old. Many wild animals visit the house and its surroundings: iguanas, various birds, turtle (we were able to observe several nest on the beach), rays... Well equipped kitchen, still remember to do some groceries before you get there (the first town is a 30 min drive away). The bedrooms and bedding are very comfortable and the roof terrace has 360 views of the surrounding area. Everyone is very attentive, whether it's the caretakers on site or the house managers! Thank you again

Doug's house captivates with its absolutely fantastic location directly on the beach and the special architecture. From the large roof terrace you can watch the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets! The rooms and rooms are large and very clean. The pool and terrace another highlight. Surroundings is well maintained. The local Mats and Yahoska are very friendly and very accessible. Yahoska was even able to organize us fresh fish and lobster, among other things! That was really great! The directions were clear and understandable. We recommend an 4x4 for arrival by season! All in all, we enjoyed our stay very much and if the opportunity arises again, we will be happy to come back again. Thank you!

We absolutely loved the house, the beach, and Rosario's cooking! We walked the beach for about an hour without running into anyone - very private and remote!! This was exactly what we needed to decompress and relax. Everything was terrific. I will say the house is very difficult to find. The address provided did not take me to a house. It took about 40 minutes to locate the house and that was after speaking in Spanish with a man in the area who knew where the house was. Luckily our Spanish was good enough to understand (for the most part) his directions and find the house. Once we found the house, we were in heaven, and we truly cannot wait to return!!!

ESP: * The house is beautiful and it's so close to the water. * The view from the rooftop terrace is amazing, being the only three-story house in the area you can see the beach, volcanoes, mountains and saline, all at the same time. At night the starry sky is just as amazing, you have to try swimming in the pool and see the stars from there too. * Wifi allows multiple people to work remotely from various parts of the house. * The house was fully equipped and had everything my family needed, the staff was very quiet and warm to welcome us. I'll be back when I have the chance :) Eng: * The house is amazing, super close to the water. * The view from the rooftop is a 360-degrees view of the whole area (beach, volcanos, mountains, etc), beautiful sunrise / sunsets guaranteed, as well as a night sky you’ll remember maybe the rest of your life (try swimming in the pool on a starry night). * Wifi can handle several people at once and covers the entire house in case you need to work remotely. * The house was clean and had all the utensils we needed, staff was welcoming and helpful too. In short, I’ll come back when I have the chance again :)

The house is everything you can hope for, but Matt and Rachel really made this place worthwhile. They made sure that we had anything we needed, and were very helpful with tips about the area. Matt made us delicious Nica food based on the dietary guidelines we provided. We went in the middle of January, and we had the entire beach to ourselves. There is only air conditioning in the first floor bedroom, but the ocean breezes keep the house from ever getting too hot. The pool is a nice way to enjoy the beach without actually having to go to the sand, and the sunsets rival any we've ever seen. You definitely want a 4x4 to get here, but it isnt impossible without one, as we did see others on the paths with regular cars. The open floor plan did not result in any unwanted pests, just the occasional harmless gecko. We loved that there are a few resident dogs as well. They are on the property, but they are well behaved and wouldnt enter the house, even when we tried to invite them in. If you plan to visit Leon or other nearby locations, this is worth the extra drive. We were about 45 minutes from Leon, and less than 1 1/2 hours from Cerro Negro. I am so glad we chose this place, and we definitely plan to make our way back here in the future. Just do it, you won't be disappointed!

This house is actually more beautifull then the picture can show. The location is remote and private, and the beach was perfect the our kids. The large doors that lead into the kitchen made us feel like we were outside all the time, it was amazing. Although there is no AC in the main rooms, with the large doors open, and the breeze comming off the ocean, it actually got chilly at night, so we had no issues with this at all. The area is amazing. There was a local a few houses down who was releaseing turtles each day we were there. We got lucky and saw 2000 turtles get released. I think this is seasonal however. We were 2 families tavelling. 4 adulds and 4 kids aged 4 through 7, and the space was perfect for us.

This beautiful beachside home with a magnificent view of the coast was the perfect get away from the rat race. It is such a cool house even in the heat of the day. There are so many beautiful gathering spits, poolside, roiftop, second story back patio and front patio. It turned out to be the perfect location for my group and everyone raved about it. The excellent massages offered in the rooms by Rachel were the icing on the cake! The cleaning staff were very sweet and helpful too. They were shy at first but then so receptive and willing to share when engaged. I highly recommend this beautiful home in a spectacular, unspoiled location. My group is already planning for our return next year!

What was not to love? The house was amazing, the beach was incredible, and Rachel & Matt were the greatest hosts one could hope for. They truly made us feel at home, always had advice when we needed it, and adventures that made the trip spectacular. Rachel's massages were out of this world- would highly recommend! Matt cooked us a wonderful dinner and supplied us with groceries (even making an additional run to get more once we realized what we'd truly need). Thank you so much to Rachel & Matt, and to Vicenta, their kind and wonderful housekeeper who, like our hosts, always went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcome. Much love and thanks to you! WE WILL BE BACK :)

We had an amazing vacation in Salinas Grande and were very happy with the home in general. If you are looking for a beach vacation that includes pampering, activities and a resort vibe, this in NOT the place for you. My family and I couldn't have had a better vacation stay; however we have visited Nicaragua several times before and we love the quiet and secluded charm that can be found within the country. The home is very nice and the hosts (Rachel and Matt) are fantastic people. Matt is a great chef, Rachel is a great masseuse and together they are fabulous hosts. The house is located on a secluded and beautiful beach. There are a few homes in the vicinity and the beach is lightly trafficked by local vehicles, but those are infrequent and they won't bother you. The neighbors are very friendly and there is a small, but very pleasant community atmosphere. The home has a nice pool, great views of the beach and pretty consistent wifi. You should be comfortable with having your doors and windows open all day and knowing that doing so will allow some bugs and geckos to pass through. These things are very normal in Nicaragua and they were not an inconvenience to anyone within my group. Generally, speaking if you are comfortable being somewhat secluded and ok with nature, you'll have a wonderful time at this house. I recommend paying the extra fees to have Matt and Rachel take care of all the supplies and food because doing so on your own would be a challenge. I have vacationed in Rancho Santana, Playa Colorados and Redonda Bay before and definitely prefer Salinas Grande due to the undeveloped simplicity that can be found there.

We loved this place so we booked the whole house the second time. Rachel the host is highly responsive, helpful. The house is gorgeous, spacious and better than we anticipated. We spent every night outside on the deck at the pool or walking the beach. Look forward to coming back when they start offering food and massage in November 2016!

We will be there and ready to serve you even better in person come November!
