3BR Townhouse in Mexico City

Very nice and conveniently located

The accommodation was in order. Xavier responded kindly but sometimes very late. He said he was abroad, so I tried to take the time difference into account, but even then it sometimes took a long time for him to reply. When he answered, it was friendly. The property is well located, and the roof terrace is pleasant. It could have been a bit cleaner.

Host Response

From the first contact, I knew he was going to give me problems. I request that communications be made only through Airbnb, and I was on vacation in Spain. He asked me to leave his bags after check-out. I said yes on several occasions and then I told him what to do with the keys. She thought I meant the luggage and took the bags. I'm just annoyed, but it's something I agreed to and that's included in the service I'm contracting. I do not recommend this guest.

Albaros place in CDMX was excellent value for money. We stayed as a group of four and used three bedrooms. The kitchen is well equipped and bright. The house is also pleasantly quiet because it’s set back from the main street. We especially enjoyed the outdoor seating area—I even spotted a hummingbird among the plants on the terrace. Having access to the laundry machine was another big plus. Albaro was friendly, welcoming, and always quick to help whenever we had questions. A few details that future guests may find useful: the upstairs semi-outdoor bathroom is convenient for brushing your teeth, but we mainly used the downstairs en-suite bathrooms attached to the bedrooms. One of the bedrooms is smaller and can either serve as a walk-through to the next room, or the connecting door can remain closed, with access to the other room from outside instead. For our group, the layout worked well, and it was much more affordable than booking two hotel rooms. Overall, we had a great stay!

Good Mexican charm! We were comfortable. It was very quiet! In trying to familiarize myself with the apt and where things were Albaro quit responding to my questions. Rosa, the neighbor and cleaner was most helpful. The bathrooms could be spruced up. It was all clean, but there is some mold on the ceilings. We were there a month. Rosa cleaned twice. She did a great job. If you are staying for a month know that there is no oven with the exception of a microwave. The kitchen is small but I learned to work with it. It is adequately supplied. The price was good for the apt.

Albaro's place was in a great location in Colonial Roma. The bus, metro, and markets are in the immediate neighborhood. A nice quiet area in a busy part of the city. Many good restaurants within a ten minute walk. Albaro was a responsive host. Although I never met him , he answered all my questions immediately online. We did have a problem with the hot water. It didn't come up in one of the bathrooms or took almost an hour to heat up. The property manager (next door neighbor) did her best to help us. In general we had a good stay as we spent all our time exploring the beautiful city and the surrounding attractions.

I have nothing but great things to say about my stay at Albaro’s Airbnb. First off the location is WONDERFUL! I was originally in the Centro Histórico which proved to be too loud. So glad I found this much quieter and peaceful location. From the lovely furniture pieces, to the gorgeous balcony, and the very comfortable bed I found myself really enjoying my stay. The plus for me was the balcony and that I was able to do laundry right at home. And can’t forget the big highlight that it’s right next to Parque Mexico, one of the most gorgeous parks in CDMX. And you have EVERYTHING you need in walking distance. All I can say is big thank you to Albaro for his kindness and quick responses. An amazing host and an amazing Airbnb. Highly recommend this place!

Albaro was superfriendly and responsive even though he was at a different time zone. We had an issue with the internet and he was directly on it and solved it the same night (which for him was middle of the night). The street is so nice, escpecially with kids. The neighbours kids are also playing there, they are all very sweet and well behaved. Our kids loved it there with so many friends to play with. Also the neighbour who received us, was superfriendly and helpfull for us. She made us feel even more home in this little hidden gemm spot in the middle of the cute center of CDMX.

Great location with lots of outdoor space. Absolutely the most caring host. Rooftop really adds character and space to the apartment, and the wifi works well from there. Would rent from any place if Albaro is the host.

We chose this house for its location and pet-friendly accommodations for our senior dog. The house features a roof garden and a small internal patio, and while the kitchen is well-equipped, we mainly used the fridge for milk and leftovers since the area is rich with restaurants and coffee shops. During our stay, the entire neighborhood (Colonia Roma) experienced a water shortage. The owner, Albaro, was very responsive and arranged for a water delivery, but we had to relocate for a day. This water issue appears to be a neighborhood-wide problem that's been ongoing for weeks, according to locals. The house and neighborhood felt very safe. I would definitely return once the water situation is resolved.

This was our second stay at Albaro's place within 8 months. It says it all. We were not disappointed. In a few words: Safe, quiet, perfectly located and charming. You can read more about our experience at this AirBnB house in our first review. Highly recommended.

he was really nice since the beginning and Even when he suffered an accident and was recovering, he had the consideration to have the Airbnb team notify me for any problem I had, so I am very grateful to him, in addition to the fact that we loved the place

Such a lovely place for a couple (with a little dog) who enjoy walking and exploring. Weirdly quiet - like, absolute silence, quiet, even in the pretty roof garden - for being right in the middle of one of busiest and most populous cities on the planet, this is a perfect jumping-off point for anyone looking to explore CDMX. My wife and I have been to the city many times, but this location was, far and away, the easiest spot from which we could walk or hop on public transit to get anywhere. If it's you're first or your zillionth time to CDMX, Albaro's beautiful, private, little nook only a block from one of the most "happening" streets in town... it's a dream.

This apartment is charming and the small compound of neighbors are friendly with quiet, off the street location. It's large and bright with a comfortable rooftop deck and washing machine and clothes lines. Everything was spotless and amenities were plentiful. Internet and tv viewing options were above average. The host's apartment manager met us to explain the entry process and it worked perfectly once known. Neighborhood was safe and there were many dining options within steps of the apartment.

Great stay in Mexico City in this apartment in a great location for plenty of activities on foot! It is located in a very well decorated private cul-de-sac (true to the photos). The apartment is nice, warm and typical. We particularly enjoyed the rooftop terrace which is sunny for much of the day. We had a small plumbing issue and Xabier was very responsive, everything was fixed within the day. So I would recommend this listing!

Albaro’s spot was in the perfect location! Walkable to so many things, close to the metro. The neighborhood reminds me of Brooklyn. 2 nice parks with dog parks a short walk away. The kithchen had everything you need, even though we barley used it because we were enjoying all the local food every day. Albaro was very responsive and even offered to help us with some parts we needed for our van since we was traveling back from the states. Ended up not happening die to our timeline, but the fact that he was willing and ready to help us out from afar was much appreciated! If you want a great spot to call home while you visit Mexico City… look no further!

We loved this authentic Roma townhouse. It has 2 connected bedrooms, each with its own shower and restroom. The living/dining area was cozy and comfortable, with local decor and fresh-cut flowers. The kitchen was functional (though with all the excellent dining options just outside, it didn't get much use). The rustic roof terrace was a nice extra space to have. The washer/dryer was great. Neighbors in this private, gated court were really nice, too. The area felt very safe day and night, with Metro, bus stops, and ride-share bike posts nearby. Uber and taxis were available at any time. The great restaurants, city parks, and boulevards of Roma and La Condesa, as well as the colorful Mercado Medellin, are all within a few blocks. Communication with Albaro before, during, and after our stay was quick and easy. His rep waited for us by the gate, showed us in, explained everything, and gave us the keys. Albaro checked on us during the stay and was flexible with check-in/out. Recommend!

Beautiful home on a private carless street. It's a quiet oasis in the middle of an ideal location with lots of cafes/restaurants etc. Our flight was very late but the host was gracious and greeted us with warmth and patience. The rooftop terrace has lots of plants and seating (with a mini fridge too!) and was a great spot to read/enjoy a drink. The decor is a bit Spartan but the house has everything (including comfortable beds/couch) for a comfortable and very safe stay :) I would definitely stay here again!

Awesome little spot in an amazing neighborhood. So much great stuff right outside the door. Close to the metro as well. The space was very clean and neat and the rooftop was a tranquil space that we enjoyed. To get to one of the bedrooms you do have to go through another which some guests might find peculiar or inconvenient but it did not bother us at all. It may mention this on the posting but I didn’t recall. Just pointing that out for guests to be aware of. Albaro is an amazing host who is very attentive and communicative. He went out of his way to help us check in early and then went even further out of his way to help return a special item that I had left when checking out. The space was cozy and had everything we needed to help us enjoy an amazing weekend in CDMX with my senior father. We look forward to returning in the future!

Albaro has been an amazing host, available, reactive and flexible. We had a wonderful time in the house. It is charming, quiet and well equipped. We really enjoy the neighborhoods as well between the Condesa and the Roma.

This is a perfectly charming place in a great location with easy access to public transportation in walking distance to a lot of great neighborhoods with an amazing variety of eating places. Everything is clean and new. The host is amazingly responsive and easy to deal with. The longer we stayed there the more we fell in love with the place. The rooftop is adequate and very relaxing. Absolutely a place to come back to.

Communication and check-in needs improvement. The Host failed to initiate communication for both check-in and check-out procedures. The Host failed to show up at the agreed upon time, leaving us waiting in the street for a while. The guard let us in and we had to figure out what was what. Albaro apparently came by later to empty the washing machine but never stopped in to explain anything. No instructions were given (such as wifi password, how to get hot water or anything about the house) until hours after we arrived, and even then, he said he would only send information if we had a specific third party app which I don't have, so he only sent very limited info. The Host should be able to send info via AirBNB, email, SMS or other means. I asked for alternatives to no avail. As for an example to the lack of instructions and it's result: we didn't know how to get in or out of the street gate without help of strangers because the Host never told or showed us. The place where you put the keycard to open the street gate is not very obvious so we were left fumbling around trying to figure it out. This kind of hassle is not necessary if communication is decent. He failed to communicate about check-out procedures until I initiated asking what to do. We were leaving early, and because you need a keycard to exit the private street, but also need to leave that keycard in the locked house, you need more than one person or creativity. He thus expressed concern about this after I had gone to sleep, but was sleeping by the time I responded (woke up from the partying noise), and so he wouldn't have been able to help if needed. The house is much darker than the deceivingly brightened photos suggest. Also, despite communicating that the whole house including upstairs is our private area, random individual(s) were on the premise at various hours & times. He noted people may be using the washing machine or getting "things". This would've been nice to know rather than hearing or seeing strangers on the premises. On the weekend, music, partying & singalongs could easily be heard from both rooms. This lasted until 430am. Also, turning on water creates loud noises which can be disturbing at night to whomever is sleeping. Also, the water heater is noisy if you need it. So while the description of the listing notes this as a "quiet" place, it isn't really. My friend had to use earplugs. I would say it's quieter than many CDMX residences, but it's not without noise. The upsides are that Albaro seems a friendly person whom perhaps could benefit from improvement with communications and procedures. The apartment has a well stocked kitchen (nice blender, ample supplies, etc). It is a "real" kitchen not some "only for AirBNB Ikea pretend kitchen". This is much appreciated. The washing machine functioned well. The shower has fair pressure & good temperature control. A garrafon of water (and backup) was provided which is also very appreciated. He also left ample soap, shampoo and other items. The roofdeck is a nice place to spend time as the house itself felt a bit dark & clammy. That said, there is a unit up there and I wasn't sure if someone was inside there or not based on the traffic down the stairs. Albaro assured me no one was living there. The layout is you enter the exterior door into the alley, enter another door into the living room (access to kitchen), then into one bedroom and into the next bedroom. If the back bedroom wants to get to the living room or kitchen without going through the other bedroom, you can exit outside through the alley if you have keys and enter again. Each bedroom has it's own bathroom. The geographical location is nice, and the private street certainly has its benefits such as not having traffic noise, etc. Unfortunately it seems there is some bar over the back side that brought noise along with various barking dogs. The internet was stable & perfectly adequate for all needs during my visit. I would not stay here again although I very much appreciate some of the nice touches Albaro put into the place. If he makes some adjustments, it would be a much better experience.

Host Response

Tak, you told me you were going to arrived around 16.00. I had something to do so I told you someone will be waiting for you. The lady wait you for one hour and leave the door of my house open for you (number 22 as I told you in a message even being in the physerapist). I couldn´t send you the info because you dont have Whatsapp and I told you please let me know if you need something. You never asked for nothing. The doorman told me you were 3 people in the house when you booked for two, this is why I didn´t show up, because I didn´t want to disturb you even if you cheated on me. Even you had a 20% of discount because you were the second person to book. You paid 15 bucks per person per night. Did you write me anything during these days? because I had really good comunication with other guest, when they want to talk I always answer. The rooftop is defined as commoun area, and you had it all. So you should read it first before complain about it. I can tell, you are totally wrog in the most of the things you told, but I don´t want to waste my time, you were hidden (I know why) this is why you got disturbed when the people were using the stairs) during the 3 days and now you write this. I will be glad if you and your friends will not be here again. And sorry for the noise, it is out of my scope, and this is Mexico sometimes happens.

This Airbnb was great. I would recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in CDMX. The host was super chill and immediately responded when we did reach out for anything. Location: This was a perfect location. In the two block radius you could find a mercado, street food, juice stands, coffee shops, restaurants, bars, parks. I enjoyed the proximity to Parque Mexico which was nice to walk around. FYI uber's are super cheap in CDMX anyways. Amenities: Each bedroom had its own bathroom which was a big plus. The kitchen was perfect for cooking and fully stocked with utensils/pans. The internet ran well and my roommate was able to work from home without a problem. There was a roof area but it needs a little more construction.

Beautiful ‘privada’, a little gem on an excellent location, just between Roma and Condesa, with many great options around for food. The place was peaceful, providing a good night sleep which is essential in A rather noisy city like Mexico City. The place was impeccable and provided everything we needed! It was clear that we were the first ones, but Albaro went out of his way to provide us a good experience. The place could still use some more stylish, cosy touches (no cold tungsten light bulbs..) and with attending to some other details, this listing could grow into a gem! Especially for that price.
