This Airbnb proved to be one of our favorite spots - ever! It was perfect for our family (5 adults + 1 child) -all living apart, to come together again. We were in San Miguel for a larger extended family event that kept us very busy and away from the house more than we would have liked but we welcomed coming “ home” each evening to a relaxing, beautiful, warm , comforting home. Everything about the house was exceptional- the artwork, books, furnishings, and their story. The house was roomy with separate patios per room. The rooftop patio was amazing especially in the evening. We also loved the location ! Including the walk twice a day up the hill! That was by choice! Experiencing Mexico this way- living amongst the locals, experiencing the culture and meeting the most wonderful people, that’s what really made this place so special. We also took very good advice and had Gaby prepare our first evening meal. Exceptional! Thanks to all

Words cannot capture how I feel about this home. It’s a home, not an air bnb. Great time, effort & expense went into every detail. Most houses in SMA are only accessible by narrow sidewalks, which is super charming but just makes what they accomplished that much more impressive. The art is fun, the linens heavenly, the lighting warm. It’s hard to decide whether you want to enjoy the pool, take in the views from the rooftop, sink into the sofa in the living room, or walk around the neighborhood. It is a bit further from the center, but that’s nice bc it’s quieter (still bring earplugs) and the views couldn’t be better. Truly my favorite house in my favorite city. It was an honor to enjoy their home.

I cannot say enough amazing about Mariano and Steven’s place. It’s like stepping into a wonderful curated world. Because it’s their part time home, everything feels so intentional and luxurious. I had some the best sleep ever in an Airbnb because it was so comfortable. It was in close proximity to everything. The only thing is it can be quite a hike back up after exploring the town. But it’s good exercise. We would highly recommend to anyone.

Mariano and Steven's place is a little gem in the middle of the most beautiful little town. Every room in suite and decorated with local artisanal ceramics, Fabrics, decor and every trinket imaginable. A pleasure to the eye and very happy to be part of for a couple of days. I will definitely come back!!

This was by far my favorite Airbnb. What a special place! The home is gorgeous and very well stocked with excellent products. Each bedroom has its own bath and the designer touches are beautiful. Definitely walkable to the lovely downtown area (but the hills are steep!) and restaurants and shops are abundant. The guide book located in the home is extremely helpful. I can't wait to return to beauty!

The place is beautiful; every corner is designed to offer a unique experience. You need more than a couple of days to fully explore and enjoy every corner. Everything is close by, very well connected, and very comfortable.

This beautiful house of Mariano and Steven in San Miguel de Allende is probably the best and most memorable Airbnb we’ve ever stayed in. The house is already incredible in itself, but on top of that, every small detail of the decoration and furniture was carefully and brilliantly chosen by them, with a unique sense of taste that perfectly reflects San Miguel de Allende and Mexican culture in general. In addition, all the bedrooms are very spacious and have excellent bathrooms. The kitchen is also perfect for cooking, and anyone who is smart enough will certainly hire the wonderful services of Gabby and Ana as a private cheffs. They prepare delicious Mexican dishes and also have the patience and care to teach those who enjoy cooking Mexican food. We really expect to be back soon!

Mariano and Steven's home is incredible. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered. It manages to be both beautiful and comfortable. The roof deck is a particular treat. As hosts, they couldn't have been more responsive or helpful. Everyone in our group agreed, it was truly one of the most delightful experiences we've ever had in an Airbnb.

This is an amazing, beautiful, gorgeous home with art and soul. The hosts were amazing. The attention to detail was joyous. These are caring owners and highly recommended. They really wanted us to have an enjoyable experience, which we did. Every day was a treat. Dinner on the rooftop and watching fireworks the last night was unforgettable. Really really spectacular experience. The house could feel stuffy with all of the beautiful things around, but somehow it was luxurious and cozy at the same time. The view from the roof was amazing, we spent a ton of time up there reading, and raced home each night to watch the absolutely spectacular sunsets. An accommodation that we simply loved, an incredible vibe, a house full of art and tranquility, in a very good location since you are practically in the center, without the complications of traffic and people in the central square. In terms of the hosts, you have a first-class service since the communication is constant and permanent during the stay, always attentive to any questions or needs and giving you very good advice to enjoy the stay to the fullest, it is definitely a priority option if you want to spend a relaxed and quiet time in San Miguel de Allende, highly recommended

Casa Luz is a treasure of a home. It is filled with Mexican art and artifacts curated with impeccable taste. It has stylish, comfortable furniture, comfy beds and beautiful outdoor spaces. This is the place if you want a unique experience in San Miguel de Allende.

Mariano and Steven's home was an absolute work of art. It was truly the most beautiful Airbnb I have ever stayed in! It was also extremely comfortable, clean, spacious and in a perfect part of town where everywhere we wanted to go felt walkable. Mariano and Steven were WONDERFUL hosts. We never needed to reach out as everything went perfectly and all house notes were very clear, but they checked in and made sure we knew they were there if we needed them. I would 100% stay in their home again next time I visit!

It is hard to describe how astonishingly wonderful is this gorgeous home. From the first glimpse of Luz’s photo on the carved wood front door you know you are somewhere special. This magical home is both luxurious and oh-so-comfortable, where every surface offers more to explore - gorgeous ceilings! Artwork! Books ! Decor! You are surrounded by the charm, creativity, and thoughtfulness of the hosts - and their inspiration. Spend evenings at the large table in the central courtyard, or soak up spectacular sunset views from the roof. Enjoy the incredibly well-stocked kitchen. Each gorgeous bedroom with private bath & balcony is an oasis, with very comfortable beds, rain showers, thoughtful details (clothes steamers!) & big windows with screened sides - the sound of the fountain in the courtyard will lull you to sleep. We are 5 friends who travel extensively around the world & who have stayed in many lovely homes and hotels, but all agreed this is our absolute favorite. Hands down.

Casa Luz is by far the most incredible Airbnb we've ever stayed in. It's not really an Airbnb at all, rather it is an extraordinary and very personal home, wholly reflective of this vibrant Mexican town and its owner's travels. It has a soul. All of the artwork, furnishings, each book, every piece of linen and object, have been chosen with love and care. The views from the rooftop, the lovely windows, perfect beds and baths, the pool, the hush of the fountain at night pulling us down into sleep after a day of exploring the markets, parks, churches, cantinas, restaurants, museums and shops, far exceeded our hopes for this trip. Every single thing about San Miguel de Allende and Casa Luz make it a place you'll want to return to, again and again. Gracias Steven and Mariano, for not only sharing your home, but for being such gracious and responsive hosts.

This is easily the best Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in. Beautifully designed and perfect for a group of friends. Each bedroom has its own uniqueness which made choosing rooms easy. The kitchen is stocked with every dish or serving piece you could need, along with an impressive range of teas. The home feels private and quiet but is a short walk to everything. The steep hill up to the house is a workout, but Ubers are cheap and convenient. We usually opted for the hike up. Steven and Mariano’s recommendations were spot on. Do not miss Fabrica La Aurora for art. We also had several delicious in-home meals by Gabby and Ana, local chefs they suggested. A minor pool heater issue was resolved quickly, and they generously treated us to a dinner to make up for it. They even gave us great tips for our next stop, Mexico City. Their hospitality truly went above and beyond. We can’t wait to return!

My family and I stayed at Casa Luz to celebrate my 50th birthday and it was absolutely perfect! There were 8 adults, and the size was just right. The house is beautiful with amazing furniture and artwork. Steven and Mariano have created a beautiful and comfortable space for vacation and celebrations. They were also so helpful, responsive and communicative. They really went above and beyond. All of their recommendations were spot on. We had one dinner and one breakfast catered at the house by Gabby (a recommendation from Steven), and the food was delicious. Having dinner at the house was such an incredible setting, and the service was impeccable. I will definitely visit Casa Luz again. I can't recommend it enough!

This Airbnb was amazing. The house was better than the pictures. It was spacious and fit two families with kids comfortably. The design and art took you to another place. I wanted to take home everything in there from the cups to the pillows. The pool was bigger than it looked in the pictures and great for the the kids to play. Steven and Mariano responded to every question in minutes and went above and beyond with recommendations. We also hired Gaby to cook for us which was delicious and highly recommended, especially after a day of travel. She also watch my kids when we went out for a night and the kids loved her. Anyway, this place will surpass all expectations of an Airbnb.

This is a truly exceptional property - unique and beautifully finished - in a beautiful and walkable part of SMA. My family spent four days here and we loved everything about it. Steven and Mariano communicated constantly and helped make the experience very special. Would recommend this gem to anyone seeking a stylish, private and large oasis - it exceeded our expectations.

This was an unbelievably lovely space, with the most generous hosts! The photos don't do justice to the artistic aesthetic and breathtaking views from the rooftop. It was our oasis & home base for a group of women in our 40's and 70's, coming together to celebrate life. Each room has it's own private balcony and it was so nice to open the doors and let in the cool morning air, watching hot air balloons floating off in the distance. The space is peaceful and well tended by the staff that keeps it up. Marian & Steven were so responsive, be it about check in time or recommendations on where to buy art. We felt very fortunate to have found this place and would absolutely rent again. Thanks for such a wonderful stay!

Casa Luz worked great for our group of seven. We especially loved the multiple terraces, and pool/courtyard. The kitchen and living room open up to the courtyard, which was a wonderful place to eat dinner al fresco. Drinking coffee in the morning, watching sunset, and having a nightcap on the roof terrace overlooking San Miguel were magical experiences. Casa Luz also provided the more practical things, such as a very well equipped kitchen, clothes washer/dryer, every room with its own bathroom and an additional powder room near the kitchen. A huge amount of love, good design, and hard work has gone into this house and we really enjoyed our stay.

Absolutely Fabulous for our visit - only wish we had more time to explore all the details of the home... amazing style and all the details taken care of... nice linens, towels, and little things like soaps & bathroom 'things' + tea, to make the stay special & easy!

This is a GREAT place! The decor is cozy yet eclectic, reflecting Mexican themes as well as the taste and travels of the hosts. Each room's decor is different. Two plush bathrobes are in each room. Each romm has an outdoor space. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, cookware, and spices. A bonus is a generous supply of Nespresso coffees (on the main floor and in one of the bedrooms) as well as a varied supply of teas. On the main level is a courtyard with a large dining table and a soaking pool- perfect on a hot day. Water can be heated to "warm" but it's not a hot tub. Perhaps the best feature of the house is the rooftop deck, accessed via a staircase with a skylight that opens electrically. Perfect for viewing sunsets. But we also went up there for morning coffee. The great view is due in part to the house being located on a hillside, which does necessitate a steep walk from City Center- but cabs are plentiful and cheap. The hosts were always responsive and helpful.

Words can not describe how beautifully curated this home is! We just wanted to stay at the house multiple days-so much to look at within the villa. Loved the location. Easy walking into town. Rooftop views incredible.

This place is amazing! Every bedroom has a private bathroom, outdoor access, and seating area. The house is so beautifully decorated that it makes it fun to hang out there. The pool is perfect and the private rooftop is a great place to watch the sunset or watch hot air balloons at sunrise. Perfect in every way.

Our stay at Casa Luz was fantastic. Steven and Mariano were so communicative and helpful. Their home is stunning and inspiring. We loved being up high and enjoyed the sunrises and sunsets from the lovely rooftop. The hike uphill home was steep but taxis were easy too after a long day of walking San Miguel. We can’t wait to return and send our friends to Casa Luz.

This is the second stay in Mariano and Steven's place. The first time was for a doctoral writing retreat that I led. This time was simply to enjoy relaxing time in the beauty and comfort of their home. I promise this will not be the last stay!

Mariano and Steven’s home is full of amazing treasures. Our group of 8 found it to be beautiful, peaceful, and full of charm. It is an easy few minute walk to town, and also a few minutes drive back up. The view on the rooftop has been the best we have seen in town. Can’t wait to come back.

This was the most astonishingly beautiful place! When we arrived Kris the property manager met us to let us in and show us around, and kindly made himself accessible for recommendations etc for our visit. Pictures cannot fully capture the thought and detail the owners have put into creating their home - the books, the wonderful art, the lovely tea, the bed linens and pillow quality. We feel so lucky and grateful to have stayed here! The location within San Miguel is perfect as well - there’s a bit of a climb returning from one’s adventures but we were eating so much that it felt good to burn some calories;). Also - the pool was great - our kids spent a lot of time hanging out there. We hope to return for sure! Thank you so much!!!

One of the best AirBnB we have stayed at. You feel they share and welcome you to their home (does not feel like a rental home). Everything in the house is beautifully thought of. From the soap and shampoo from a local vendor, to the gorgeous art and decor we also saw at many galleries in town. The owners recommended a couple of ladies that went to the market every day, made us breakfast and cleaned everything. Food was delicious (posted some pics of the food and the place on IG). We were 4 couples and the house has the perfect size with 4 bedrooms. The rooftop has a beautiful view of San Miguel. Make sure you save some time to enjoy the place.

The house was absolutely gorgeous and every detail has clearly been lovingly considered. The kitchen was well stocked, we could have certainly cooked, though we enjoyed walking into town each day for meals. The view is breathtaking, especially from the rooftop terrace in the mornings and evenings with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. Kris, the house manager was responsive and attentive, quickly helped us one afternoon when we had accidentally locked ourselves out! Would definitely stay here again without hesitation.

Amazing property in the heart of San Miguel de Allende!!! Gorgeous furnishings, art, decor, and more. A perfectly curated home that is not only beautiful but so comfortable. Bedrooms with en suite bathrooms are ideal for multiple couples. Our host Kris was incredible and we cannot express how much he enhanced our trip. He was responsive to all of our requests including arranging makeup artists for Dia de Los Muertos…so fun!!! We had daily breakfasts, and dinners for our nights of arrival and departure. Ana and Gabby are wonderful chefs of authentic Mexican cuisine and those meals were some of our favorites! Loved the rooftop patio for morning coffee and evening cocktails overlooking the beautiful city! 5 stars and more!!!

Our stay at casa luz was absolutely wonderful! The attention to detail throughout the entire home was absolutely amazing! The hosts were so helpful with the whole process from check in to check out! We got tons of great recommendations and even got help setting up transportation and reservations! I couldn’t recommend enough!!

Steven and Mariano’s home is gorgeous. Everyone in our group was floored by the decor, location, and aesthetic. The one (and very minor) downside is the number of stairs to get to the bedrooms. But that’s part of the charm of San Miguel! I’m almost tempted not to post this review, because it might cause the demand to get crazy high… but this home is hands down, one of the best places we’ve ever stayed at! We will definitely stay here again if we can!!

The house was amazing! Everything is as described, charming, great decor and eclectic. Walking distance to center of town, just be ready to do the trek back up the mountain or just simply get an Uber to bring you back. Kris welcomed us and he was great with all the information needed. We loved that this house had a pool which made our warm days even more special. Gaby made us breakfast and dinner everyday which was an amazing experience. We cant wait to be back again!

This was an Airbnb first: the photos did not do the place justice. Everything looks beautiful in the photo. The experience of the house is exponentially more beautiful, impressive, and welcoming. It felt like living within a dream!

The house is just stunning. The art displayed is very well curated and every single details is just perfect. It is also very well located just a few minutes walking from the center. The pool, while small, was also very nice to relax during the day when it was very hot outside. We used the beautiful kitchen to cook our own means and didn't want to leave the house :) We'll be back!

This stylish gem of a rental In gorgeous San Miguel was absolute perfection for our multi-family multi generational trip. The unique, luxurious and comfortable decor and furnishing were beyond our expectations. The hosts clearly have labored to provide a world class vacation home and it shows. The house manager was fantastic and responsive with recommendations. You can walk down to center easily but you have the hill views for morning coffee or sunsets. We loved the plunge pool, patios, hire their lovely chefs for breakfasts and some dinners. We loved this stay!!! 10/10

Great house and interiors in a quiet part of San Miguel yet very walkable to the main square. The view from the terrace is amazing! Both for dinners and a drink as well as morning yoga. Kris was a great host: very helpful and attentive and gave us excellent recommendations.

The home is fantastic - I can't imagine staying anywhere else. The rooms are spacious, and the views were incredible. Easy walk to get into Centro. My only suggestion is more hanging space and drawer storage space in each room. Overall, highly recommend this home and hope to come back!

This house was perfect for our group to spend the week in and great common spaces for us to gather and grow closer, while each room had great privacy. I wasn’t sure of all of the great reviews but it was all that AND MORE! * Great location! * all four bedrooms were spacious, had very comfortable beds and the ensuites were great * the pool with heater was refreshing * the view from the roof was amazing! * the listing doesn’t say that ALL four bedrooms have separate private outside sitting area to relax with a morning coffee or evening beverage. * the listing didn’t mention the housekeeper that arrives on M and Th to keep towels fresh, trash picked up; the housekeeper, Soledad, was SO friendly. We hired her to cook one night an authentic Mexican meal and share with us the history of the neighborhood. * Kris, the property manager was very helpful! We never had to call him … he called us midway to make sure all was OK! I’m out of space, but this was a relaxing, luxurious property that was perfect for 4 couples to enjoy SMA. All agreed it was a good value and would not hesitate to rent it again!

This has by far been one of the best places I’ve ever stayed at. Not only was it beautifully decorated, but also clean, comfortable and with lots of amenities. But the most favorite part for us was Kristopher. He was always willing to help, communicated quickly, flexible with our changes and even there in a time of need when we forgot some important items at the house. We would stay here again and recommend to anyone especially because of him. Thank you for making our stay so memorable.

What an incredible home Casa Luz is! I own an interior design firm in Houston, Texas so I can be somewhat critical of spaces. Mariano and Steven have created the quintessential “home away from home”. If you want to stay in a place that makes you feel like a local their’s is the place. The house has “soul”. Impeccably decorated and curated down to the smallest detail. Wow!! We will certainly be back to visit and we have found our go to place to stay. Kris, was so responsive and accommodating. Arranged for us to have breakfast cooked within the house and the Chilaquiles were beyond!!! Congratulations guys on a job well done. San Miguel we’ll be back soon!!! -Dennis

Casa Luz was the highlight of our family's first visit to San Miguel. Thoughtfully designed and decorated, it was obvious that the owners put their hearts into curating this space. Every where we looked, there was something for us to discover and marvel at. The home is spacious with an ideal layout for spreading out comfortably. Each of the 4 bedrooms is on its own level and included ensuite bathrooms. We especially enjoyed drinking coffee each morning on the rooftop terrace while admiring views of the city and hearing the sounds of San Miguel waking up. We are from a very flat area so the uphill location, while expected, was still challenging for our mother (in her 70s) to walk so we opted to drive or take a cab which was not an issue. Nearby street parking was easy to find. Finally, Kris was a wonderful and responsive host. Despite arrival delays, he met us at the home, gave us a tour and remained available to us during our stay. We highly recommend and would stay again!

Our visit was wonderful. Kris was there to welcome us and tour the house. He was very flexible about our arrival time. The home is beautifully and uniquely decorated with 4 very comfortable bedrooms. The bedrooms are on 4 floors with a rooftop deck that offers an amazing view of the town. One bedroom is on the lower level in case you need that for one of your guests. The deck is a perfect spot for sunset cocktails. The kitchen is fully equipped and comfortable to cook in. The home was spotless. We had a small plumbing issue and it was addressed immediately. Kris arranged a chef for two evenings and the dinners were delicious and incredibly affordable. In case anyone has issues walking, it should be noted that the home is up a hill. We found it very walkable but some might not. Cabs are readily available. We would stay here again as it was a perfect home for a group.

The house is very confortable, well equipped and has great design. Pool is perfect to relax in hot days and it can be heated. Great details from hosts like bathroom amenities, instructions book with recommendations, Nespresso capsules. The rooftop terrace has an amazing view!

We loved, loved, loved this place! It was everything described in the listing and much more. The entire house was beautifully decorated with books, art and sculpture from around the world. It has all the amenities you could ask for, down to fluffy bathrobes in each of the four bathrooms off each bedroom. There are lots of places to lounge around, both outside and inside. The small pool was a lovely extra and the water was perfect during a hot day. We watched the sun set over the city center from the rooftop area. There's a big living room with several comfortable couches, a big dining room to gather around and a nice-sized kitchen that has everything you would need to cook. This is just a beautiful place to stay during your visit in San Miguel.

In addition to the positive comments by the reviewers about the stellar place, the attentiveness and support of the property manager Kris and the housekeeper Soledad tremendously enhanced the experience of the stay. Thanks for making our visit to SMA such a memorable one.

I agree with all the positives which have been said about Mariano and Steve's place. Our flight was very late, with us getting to the unit past 1am, and yet their local manager still met us, and showed us around the place. Housekeeping service and all the personal touches made this place feel as much at home as possible. We loved all the space, the design, the rooftop, and it felt like San Miguel wouldn't have been the same without this place to stay.

This was without a doubt the cleanest, most well designed Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in. Their attention to detail is impeccable. The majority of my group are architects and to say they were impressed with the accommodations would be an underestimate. All in all a 10/10 experience, and I look forward to returning one day.

5 stars all around! We had the most amazing stay and loved all the unique details and decor throughout the home. Great location only a few minutes walk into the center of town, and a perfect location for a group seeing the rooms are spread out and all have their own private bathrooms. The view from the roof deck is unreal! Would 100% recommend booking immediately— this place is such a gem!

Book it now! The pictures of this beautiful home do not do justice for what you have in store when you step inside and start to explore. There is so much to see and enjoy that you could spend days doing just that. Mariano and Steven have created a place that we will remember forever. I don't think I can add much more than what has already been said in other reviews. The space is wonderfully laid out. We were four and had more than enough room that we did not bump into each other for days on end. I think a group of eight could easily enjoy this space together and not feel cramped with each bedroom having an en suite bathroom as well as plenty of communal space indoors and outdoors for sharing. The shared living space is comfortable and usable for any of your needs. Further, the house is spotlessly maintained indoors and out. This is an incredible space to use as headquarters to explore San Miguel. And do not downplay having the pool available. The cobblestones and hills of the city will make you want to dip in after a day's hike even if it is just your feet. Following that head up to the rooftop patio to enjoy the balance of the day and watch the sun set. You will be hard pressed to find a better view in the city. On arrival we were pleasantly greeted by Kristopher's wife who gave us a tour of the house and explained some of the necessary details of living in the space. Kristopher had arranged for us to have our first meal prepared for us at the house. We were so delighted with the delicious meal that Gaby created for us that we had her back at the end of our trip for another meal. These were among the best meals that we had while in SMA and we should have booked more. Kristopher was attentive to our wants and needs throughout our stay. In fact he was even helpful in booking a fabulous restaurant for Cynthia's birthday before we even arrived. It was incredible to have someone available who could guide us or help us as needed. As mentioned in other reviews, Kristopher aided us in providing a friendly car service to make our commutes easy to attain. Kristopher helped make your trip easy and enjoyable. We took the time to book a historical tour, a mezcal tour, and a tour of the mask museum that is just down the street from Casa Luz. All three tours were definitely worth doing. There is a wealth of history in Mexico, and particularly in San Miguel, that cannot be fully realized by simply walking around and sightseeing. We could not have asked for a better place to stay for ten days in San Miguel. We will be sure to book it again when we return. If you book Casa Luz, be prepared to want to spend more time hanging out at the house than you originally thought. While SMA is a treasure that is worth exploring in fine detail, Casa Luz will draw you in like a warm hug and make you want to stay at home and relax. It is every bit the five star that it has been rated.

Just book it, you won't be disappointed. This home is incredible. First, for groups, it's fantastic because you have the living, kitchen, and outdoor space/pool on the first floor, then on each 1/ 2 floor, you have a room on either side, so no room shares a wall. Then each room was a mini-suite with one room that was a large suite with a living area and kitchenette. Each one also had a patio. Then the ROOFTOP is incredible. We loved the Salina rooftop bar; aside from that, this place had the best sunset view each night. The decor is also just incredible and very well-curated. You know a lot of time went into the choices, but it also doesn't have that over-personal feel where you feel like you're in someone else's home. Most importantly, the staff was so incredible. The initial walk-through with Kristopher was great, and they gave us a bottle of wine. We opted to have someone cook for us every morning, and wow, that chilaquiles and chile relleno was just incredible. We were disappointed in some of the restaurants in town and just wanted every meal at the house. It was that great. They also introduced us to a car service that drove us to town and a fantastic vineyard 30 min outside town. One general note for people visiting the San Miguel area is that it is very hilly and has old cobblestone streets...VERY OLD. Wear comfortable shoes and be ready to walk a lot and also steep hills. Some of our group wasn't prepared for that. Again Frank and the car service came in handy also taxis are convenient. My tip for the cab drivers, since the actual address is in a little alley like most places in SM, is the cross streets of Calle Montitlan and Cuesta De San Jose. Everything was top notch from the location, to the condition of the home, to the communication. Enjoyed it from beginning to end.

Casa Luz can only be described with one word....FABULOUS. The design of the home is exquisite, the details perfect and well thought out and it's incredibly well appointed and comfortable. Its location is convenient and is on a very charming, pedestrian-only street. Communication was thorough and response time rapid. We enjoyed our stay immensely and were sad to leave. No doubt one of the best stays all of us have ever had anywhere. I look forward to returning soon!

Kris was wonderful so helpful- we got in very late and wouldn't have been able to have dinner so he picked up something for us- it was wonderful. He also helped up with car service when our flight was canceled. So appreciative. Housekeeper was so kind and wonderful. Loved the home- beautifully curated and inviting. Thank you!

This was exactly what my family and I wanted, that Mexico experience. It was beautiful and homey. I have never been greeted except this time and Kris was the best and just made us feel at home.

You could spend your entire time in San Miguel in Mariano’s home - the interior decor and architecture is stunning, and you will not miss a thing as they have everything you could ever need! Beautiful views, beautiful home, excellent host. The home has a water purification system throughout - major bonus! We can’t wait to come back!

This is the most beautiful Airbnb we have ever stayed at. Every nook of the house is so well thought out. Mariano and Steven have made this exquisite home into a cozy museum filled with fascinating art and books. The kitchen had everything you could imagine. Including a wonderful collection of teas. The host was so helpful and made our stay seamless. This place is the perfect San Miguel experience. You have to see it to fully understand.

The ABSOLUTE BEST home I have ever rented in many years of travel!!! The photos are great but in person the home is way better. I don’t think the kitchen is shown much in the photos but it’s super nice! Soaring ceilings in the living room. Walls of glass and natural light everywhere. Such a warm, inviting and charming home. Attention to detail everywhere with beautiful artwork on every wall and table. Everything you needed and wanted was there. We spent many hours in the pool which is about 5 feet deep with a nice bench to sit on. The rooftop deck had an amazing view of the entire City!!! Every room had its own patio! One room with a hammock you can put the hammock up and roll the bed out and sleep under the stars. Just make sure to bring the bed in if there is any chance of rain. Master suite was wonderful and large. Actually, every room was large, interesting and unique. All bedrooms were suites. We had plenty of space and privacy. Christopher was so helpful and always available and kind. The housekeeper, pool people, gardeners were great as well. Monica for massage will come to the house and her number is in the guest book. All of us had a massage with her. We loved eating at many restaurants in the area. Shopping in town and visiting many shops. San Miguel is a lively and upbeat city work many things to do. We stayed for 8 nights and had lots of family time and great memories. We were very sad to leave because we had such an amazing time here. The owners have beyond exquisite taste. They were gracious to let us check in early and check out late. We were fortunate that they could allow this at the time we came. I can’t wait to return one day!

This is the most magical place you could ever stay in San Miguel. It has multiple lounge spaces and large bathrooms, which is hard to find in this city. The large roof top and patio are to die for, and the pool can also be heated to a hot tub! Kristofer the host was so kind and attentive, made us feel right at home and even had drinks or us when we arrived as well as gave us tips for the city. The entire house is curated with amazing art and flows from room to room. Each space is decorated and cozy, with touches that make you feel like the home is as much of an experience as is being in San Miguel itself! Make sure to book an in home massage by Monica (her contact is in the welcome book) as well as use the cute bags by the entry to take to the city to shop! Last but not least the beds and linens are amazing, multiple towels for each person, unlimited Nespresso pods for coffee and even two clothing racks and steamers for your outfits! My family was lucky enough to spend 4 nights in this beautiful house. It’s even better than the pictures in reality. From the easy communication with Kris, flexibility around check in and all of his local tips to the overall style of the property, this was a fantastic stay. The house really is a home and all of the little details and curated pieces together work so well. We enjoyed studying the artwork adorning every wall, making coffee in the morning in the kitchen, having fresh drinking water on tap and cooling off from the heat of the day in the pool. My kids even slept under the stars one night each in the hammock - a really memorable experience! It’s a simple downhill walk into the centre of town and we enjoyed finding different ways to get home after dinner each night….the tiny narrow staircase between houses was the favourite - great leg workout! Our stay coincided with a couple of extra hot days, and the first night did take a while to cool down in the main bedroom as a result, but once we worked out the system for which windows allowed the best breeze, we slept really well. Beds are super comfortable and the linen is beautiful to sleep on. Our only wish was that we could’ve stayed for longer than 4 nights. Please do yourself a favour and book here. We’re missing it already!

Casa Luz is amazing! With four bedrooms we all had more than enough space. And the communal areas also gave us great space to hang out together. The plunge pool was great for hot days. And the rooftop is especially epic during sunset. The home is decorated beautifully. 10/10 would recommend!

This house is absolutely exquisite. If you appreciate design and art, it is a feast for the senses with incredible decor and layout, all the details have been thought of. Beyond that, it is very cozy and functional. Great beds and baths, a kitchen for any chef, the pool is lovely (and necessary on hot days) and it is nestled in the midst of a true neighborhood (we met all sorts of folks in our coming and going). Two things of note. The house is located with a spectacular view which means it is near the top of one of SMA’s infamous hills so be prepared for a small workout if you walk or to take taxis. Also, because it is a home in a neighborhood and not a resort, you are surrounded by vibrant soundscape of the area - there are dogs and roosters, cars and laughter. I loved it but if you like silence, you’ll want headphones or some kind of white noise. I think these are both positives and part of the experience! I have traveled extensively in Air BnBs and this is by far the most stunning and hard to leave!

The house is spectacular. The photos don't do it justice. The impeccable decor, the extraordinary service. Very good location, it's very close to downtown. A breathtaking view. The whole experience was amazing. I highly recommend it!! The layout of the rooms is perfect, the beds are super comfortable. Everything in general was perfect!

The house is absolutely beautiful, I loved the architecture and all the luxuries the house came with it. I would not recommend the house for children under 5, there are just too many ways for them to get into trouble, ha. Everything is close by, walk to town is 10-15 mins and a taxi is 5-10 mins anywhere. The good thing about the house is that it is in a small narrow street, that way its not very busy and cars can't drive through.

Just got back from a week at this home. The decor of the home is absolutely gorgeous and the views are spectacular! Everything about the home is well designed and thought out. Very convenient location in Centro, easy 10-15 minutes walk, mostly downhill, to the heart of Centro. Catch a 60 peso ($3) cab back to the house. Kris is an excellent manager/host and he provided us with a very warm welcome and was available for questions and recommendations. Hands down an exceptional AirBnB experience. You won't want to leave!

The house is exceptionally decorated, amazing layout and overall a rare gem. From the pool (which you can comfortably fit 3-4 people inside) in the courtyard, to the amazing terraces and rooftop views, the house is incredible and a must book. Maybe 10 min walk down to the center of everything which is great reliable exercise. Kristopher is very responsive and thought of everything for the entire stay. Overall 10/10 experience.

The house is amazing! The spaces have a good design and the decoration takes you to enjoy the experience of San Miguel de Allende. We felt very comfortable since the excitement thanks to the attention and flexibility of the hosts, as we arrived at night, they bought some pizzas for us and they avoided all the lio of looking for dinner. The place is decorated with great detail, the photos in the listing do not do it justice, each space has a theme that goes with the whole house. The beds are super nice. The pool is clearly not for swimming, but it is ideal for enjoying the water and chatting while relaxing. We were a group of 8 and we could all be at the same time on the patio, the living room the kitchen or the terrace, but we also had our privacy when we needed it. The kitchen in particular we loved the design and to cook it had everything we needed, obviously we only use it for breakfast because we took advantage of the various restaurants in San Miguel. From the house to the Cathedral are really like 15 min to normal step, a little more if it complicates them walking in cobblestone.
