3BR Villa in Nuevo Vallarta

Stefan

Excellent, 6 months ago

This place is unreal! Exceeded all expectations. If you rent a golf cart it takes maybe 2 minutes to get to the base of the town. Can’t beat the location. Might be one of the coolest places you can stay in Sayulita. Lisa and the staff were also super responsive

This Airbnb was a perfect fit for my group of 8. It’s incredibly beautiful and has all the amenities you need. It’s well stocked and has amazing views of the town and beach. It is very close to action albeit up a very steep hill, but that was not an issue for my group. Carlos, the property manager, was incredibly responsive and was willing to go out of his way to accommodate any questions and requests we had. After our trip was over, we all went around and said what our favorite thing was and this Airbnb was at the top of almost everyone’s list!

Wow what a beautiful home. The pictures don’t do it justice. A group of 9 of us ladies stayed for my bachelorette party and we all had ample room. The pool was amazing for lounging around in the evenings. My only warning is be prepared to WALK. There a lot of stairs in the house as well as getting to and from town. We are all fairly active ladies and we got used to it but I imagine it could be difficult for some people. Lastly, my only complaint would be noise. If you plan to have at least one quiet night in, hope there are no rowdy/ loud neighbors. We had one quiet night in on a Friday night and due to the houses being so close we could hear everything. This was only an issue for the upstairs rooms but they were not able to sleep as they said it felt like they were in the room with them. Other than that, our stay was fabulous and the rental company was very responsive to any needs.

Casa Nicoya was very responsive and helpful during the stay. They offered things to do and the house was well-appointed. Considering it is predominantly an open air home. Lots of bug spray available, etc. We arrived to a bathroom plumbing issue they alerted us and had a plumber come 2 days after check-in. That shower wasn't useable until then. There was also a VERY strong mold odor from the other upstairs closed bedroom's bathroom. If you are at all sensitive to mold - this is not the place for you. The closet in the downstairs bathroom had a very strong body odor that lingered the entire stay. Likely just needs a little extra attention. I would advocate for mosquito netting over all beds (not just the open air room) so you don't have to douse yourself in bug spray every evening. Very nice place, attentive hosts, just some details to be aware of. The hill is a VERY good workout - and the neighborhood is absolutely party-focused - you can hear/SMELL the party all night. Bring earplugs.

Host Response

Thanks for your feedback JoAnn. We've looked into the shower smell & it seems it was an intermittent smell was caused by sewer (not mold) and it will be fixed this week with a replacement drain with a better seal. We have also taken care of airing out & eliminating any odors from the closets. Since the enclosed bedrooms can be closed completely (one also has screened in windows) we did not think mosquito nets were necessary but we have extra nets on hand for any guests who request them, no problem. As for the shower, my apologies. The issue was only reported that morning by a guest checking out & since it was a Saturday afternoon we could not get a plumber out until first thing Monday. Thankfully you still had two working showers for those two days. Thanks again for staying with us.

We were so devastated during our stay. Sayulita is very humid/hot and there is no way to sleep without ac. First day Zoey said she had fixed the ac, the moment I went up there is was turned off again. Next day we refused to sleep in the upstairs room as the heat was intolerable. We had three people sleeping in the downstairs room and two in the room without windows. We were not aware that one of the rooms was open air and this is something that should be disclosed on the listing. On the last day of our stay there were thunderstorms and branches were flying into the room. Zoey did leave a fan for us to use and the electrify would go out the moment we would turn on the ac. Additionally, we felt ignored when we voiced our concerned through out our stay which added stress to the situation. The house is beautiful but the ac situation really ruined our stay.

Host Response

As we explained before check in & during your stay, the power issues can happen in the summer & in your case were neighborhood wide brown outs beyond our control. We provided extra fans for when there was not enough power for AC. The open-air room is clearly photographed & described in the listing & we also mentioned it twice before check in when asking for bed configuration preferences. Zoey has been checking in groups for 5 years without any issue on key or safe communication & often receives glowing shoutout reviews. She responded one hour after getting the question about lights at 9:30pm. I am really sorry you had a bad experience. We truly pride ourselves on ensuring our guests have a fantastic stay & I believe our reviews reflect that history. I thought the listing description & communication was clear enough about summer storms but I will add additional language about possible power outages as well just to cover that possibility for future guests.

Our family of five just returned from nine days at the beautifully designed and uniquely crafted Casa Nicoya. The open air common areas allowed everyone a comfortable space throughout the day. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed cooking breakfast, sitting at the dining table, watching the sun light up the fauna with the birds singing. It was magic. We enjoyed the sunny pool area with the optional shaded Palapa with plenty of charging plugs. We grilled or catch of the day and then dined poolside with a view of the ocean. It is a short walk to town but a golf cart was worth it. Lisa is a wonderful host. She provides a welcome booklet with everything you need to know. All of her recommendations, especially the alley cat catamaran tour, was so much fun. The only downside of the trip was the band playing downtown. If you are a light sleeper pack some earplugs. In total we had a fantastic vacation.

Wow what a fabulous place! The the view, the pool, the decor and the lush landscaping….I even grew to love the many steps and steep hill to get down to town and back. Lisa and Zoey were both awesome communicators, very responsive and full of helpful info and recommendations. The Christmas/New Years holidays are very busy in Sayulita, crowded and loud but colorful, festive and lively! Take a short hike up the coast to Playa Malpaso for some solitude. We loved the whole area and can’t wait to come back!

I cannot say enough about the wonderful stay we just enjoyed at Casa Nicoya. Before we even arrived we felt taken care of. Lisa was able to recommend great tours, food spots, and lots of activities. Zoey was at the door to greet us and take us on a full tour of the home. The property is SO unique it was amazing having the full tour right when we arrived. The views were incredible and we successfully lounged in their many open spaces. The pool was refreshing and perfect for our group. Lisa even was able to offer fresh coconut from the palm tree that was right by the villa. So thoughtful! We cannot wait to come back! Thank you for the most amazing memories!

Had a great stay at the Casa! The home is beautiful, lots of room for a group to spread out and relax. Loved how open and airy everything is + great location with a good little workout up and down the hill to town. The pool is wonderful and afternoon cool down. Everything you may need (from a line juicer to a beach bag) was available to use. Zoey was was onsite and super responsive if we had questions. The private transfer from the airport was great and it even stopped for us to get groceries on the way into Sayulita. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

We enjoyed our stay at Lisa's property so much! The house is beautiful and was perfect for us. Just as pictured. Communication was great from the moment I booked. I appreciated Lisa setting me up with airport pick up as it made everything so much easier. Zoey was very friendly and communication with her was great . She checked in on us and was helpful. The only downside was the climb going back up the hill when you are coming back from downtown. But, I know that is mentioned in the listing. You will need a golf cart or you will have to take cabs like we did several times! I think the house and view are totally worth the tiny inconvenience.

We had a great time staying at Casa Nicoya. The location couldn’t be better… we were close to town and could walk but we ended up renting a golf cart because it was very warm and we had 4 teenagers with us. We were a little nervous about staying in Sayulita in August with one room without AC but it turned out to be very comfortable in all parts of the house and the two rooms with AC were very comfortable. The house is well stocked and beautifully decorated and looks just like the photos. We had Celli cook for us three nights and it was always wonderful. All in all a great week and we had a lovely time.

This place is amazing!! Lisa was the best host ever - she gave us all the information we needed to have the perfect visit to Sayulita, including helping us book adventures, find the right places for meals and even arranging home cooked meals and in-home massages. The house is super cool and beautiful plus in a great location close to town, and you really feel at home in this beautiful spot. Can’t wait to come back to this place!

Amazing home! Highly recommend 🤍

Do not hesitate, and book this place now! Staying in Lisa's home was a dream come true! Every part of the home was tasteful and well decorated. We stayed here over our wedding week and all the girls got ready at Casa Nicoya. It is so beautiful!! The beds were comfortable and the location was prime. I will mentioned that if you sleep in the open air (king bedroom) it can be loud because all of the nightlife happening below. This didn't bother us. When we wanted AC and quiet we would just sleep in one of the other bedroom. The housekeeper Chelly cooked us amazing food. We recommend! Zoey was so hospitable! She gave us beautiful flowers and even brought us up another mirror for all the girls to get ready. 10000% recommend! We will be back. Thank you Lisa!

This place is a dream! We had high expectations for our stay at Casa Nicoya based on the pictures, and it greatly exceeded our expectations. We were a group of 6 and the house was the perfect location for our week in Sayulita. Some of our favorite things about this property: 1. The location can't be beat. It is a 5 minute walk to town square and a 15 minute walk to the beach. The hill is steep but very doable. No need for a golf cart. 2. Lisa was a great host and very responsive in helping plan our trip in advance - she was always quick to answer any questions we had. The house manual she shares once you've booked the place is also a wealth of information when you are planning your trip. Once we got on site, Zoey was there to help us get oriented and share great local tips. We weren't sure if we would like having a host on site due to privacy concerns, but Zoey was the sweetest and very respectful of our space. She was definitely a bonus to our stay. 3. The house is beautiful and the open air format makes you feel like you are floating in the sky. There are two decks from which to take in sunset views and multiple lounge locations on three different levels. We felt like we were always moving around and having a new experience. 4. The housekeeper is available to cook meals which we highly recommend - her food is delicious and there's nothing like having someone prepare a home cooked meal for you and also taking care of the clean up. We recommend doing a couple of dinners & breakfasts throughout your stay. 5. The fact that there are three levels means there is plenty of space to accommodate everyone if you are a large group. The only thing to note is that because it is an open air format, it can be hard to find a really quiet place if you need to lock yourself away to do some work (but hopefully not since you're on vacation). 6. House is beautifully appointed with thoughtful touches - a nice mix of high end items and pieces from local vendors. 7. Every restaurant that the hosts recommended was spot on - we especially enjoyed breakfasts at Anchor Cafe (right down the hill) and sunset margaritas & ceviche at El Patio on the beach. Highly recommend booking this place if you are lucky enough to find it available for your dates in Sayulita, you won't be disappointed!

From the minute you walk into Casa Nicoya, you will be taken away by the gorgeous views of the hillside and the sunlight streaming through the house. I think our jaws fell to the floor. The pictures simply don’t do is justice. The little details throughout the home really show how thoughtfully the house was designed. It would be plenty of room for 3 couples. Although it would not be appropriate for small children due to safety concerns, adults will love lounging on all of the various patios and living areas. The pool area is lovely and we spent much of our time laying on the poolside cabana. There is some music and noise coming from the town below, so do not expect this to be a completely quiet location, especially with the open air layout of the house. Bring earplugs and use the Dan at night for sleeping and you should be fine. Lisa and Zoey were both friendly and very helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommend!

Staying at Casa Nicoya was nothing short of incredible. To escape the hustle and bustle of the Sayulita streets and have our own spacious, tranquil escape was essential to our stay. With 5 people in our group, the house was more than spacious enough to comfortably fit us. There are several zones throughout (with full sunshine) for you to relax, including large day beds, loungers and a hammock. As well, the balconies look toward the mountains and ocean featuring beautiful sunsets. It was easy to spend a lot of time there. In addition to the enjoyment of the space, we felt well taken care of by the house manager Zoey, who was accessible to answer questions/help out, as well there was a detailed list of information and recommendations to do during our stay. I would not hesitate to book again!

If you are looking for an AMAZING place with SPECTACULAR views within walking distance to downtown Sayulita, look no further! With multiple areas for lounging and relaxing, A/C in the rooms, a well-stocked bookshelf, a pool, and two kitchens, Casa Nicoya is a vacation within itself! We easily walked into town every day (a glute workout everytime!). Zoey, the prop manager, was responsive and helpful with communication - she made sure we were always super comfortable. And the roosters in the valley don't care if it's 2am or 4pm, they will caw and we accepted this as part of the Sayulita experience. The music that plays until 2 or 4am is also... "part of the experience." Just know before you go, there is music in the valley almost every single night. Luckily, each room comes with a heavy-duty fan for white noise and we all slept pretty well. We will definitely recommend Casa Nicoya. Muchas Gracias!!!

Lisa’s place is a true oasis and she + Zoe are top notch hosts with quick responses and great recommendations! The home is beautifully appointed with tons in space ! We had a large party and there was plenty of space to spread out! Spectacular sunsets! It’s close to town but private. The only two things to consider are the walk from town (if you don’t have a golf cart) is a workout-be prepared and sometimes the music from town can be heard late night but nothing some earplugs can’t handle. Overall, highly recommend!

Excellent place, very beautiful !

What a wonderful spot - gorgeous home with an amazing feel and really tastefully decorated! Walking in we all just knew we had found a gem! We loved the fabulous pool area, well equipped kitchens, all the open seating and great bedrooms. We had lazy BBQs watching the sunset and enjoying the gorgeous view. Lisa and Zoey were super responsive and provided excellent information and advice about the house and Sayulita which we used a lot. We hope to be back really soon!

My friend and I booked Casa Nicoya for a week to experience Sayulita and the near by surf. This place was absolutely amazing. It made our stay so luxurious and comfortable. The location is awesome and the house is just so beautiful. Lisa and Zoey are so great too! They helped us with whatever we needed and are sincerely interesting and wonderful people. I cannot say a single bad thing about our stay here. I want to book this place again ASAP!

Such a beautiful home! I knew it would be amazing from the pictures on here but when I got there it was honestly better than expected. About 5 min walk right into the center of town, 10 to the beachfront. The trek back up the hill is a little steep but really not bad at all, plus I feel like I gained some leg strength from doing it each day lol. Lots of great bars and restaurants close by. We actually ended up spending more time in the house than expected as well just because it was such a nice, open vibe, and the pool was perfect. Only two of the rooms have ac, but everyone staying in the rooms without still said it felt great at night. Had all the basics plus some. Very comfortable and well thought out. Plus owner Lisa, and manager Zoey were awesome, great communication and suggestions for around town. The shuttle she helped us set up for to and from the airport was perfect and I highly recommend the alley cat boat tour if you plan on doing something like that, such a blast. I would definitely stay here again while visiting beautiful Sayulita! Thank you again for the wonderful hospitality Lisa and Zoey!

As we walked through the doors of Casa Nicoya, we were instantly transported into a world of beauty, comfort and relaxation! Lisa and Zoey saw to it that all our needs were met, from arranging our transportation to suggesting activities and outings that would be fitting for our group. Thanks to the detailed eyes of the cleaning crew, Casa Nicoya was sparkling clean. The communication between Lisa, Zoey and our group exceeded our expectations. They always responded in a reasonable amount of time and were thoughtful in their responses. We will visit again, for sure, and highly recommend this gorgeous home for your next escape to Sayulita!

Could not recommend Lisa and her beautiful little Sayulita villa enough. It has three levels of open air decks and views, all with different vantage points to see the town, ocean and surrounding jungle. Sunsets on the roof were incredible, as was the open air nature of the entire place. Lisa and her manager Zoey were available and responsive to any and all questions, helping us book excursions, offering local restaurant suggestions and even booking us an at home chef. Couldn't have been a better or more beautiful experience.

Lisa is very kind, genuine, helpful and one of the best hosts I’ve stayed with. She made our trip to Sayulita incredibly memorable by helping us with planning to get there with all the Covid restrictions. Once we were there she was in touch daily with simple but meaningful gestures like helping us get flowers for Valentine’s Day and fresh juice for the house. She’s one of the only hosts I’ve written a thank you card for upon leaving. I can’t recommend Casa Nicoya highly enough, it’s a 10/10 in every regard!

This house is amazing- beautiful authentic Mexican charm with modern touches. Very clean. Safe home and great location. The owner (Lisa) and the host (Zoey) were great. They were helpful and communicative. The location is perfect: just up the block from the town square, but without the nightlife noises. The views were spectacular. You can see the ocean from the top floor. After booking, they sent us a long list of extensive, helpful information on everything from things to do, local medical info, local customs, etc. They provide drinking water coolers in the home as well. So thoughtful. There are secret stairs as a shortcut to town, or rent a golf cart to get around. We might come back and rent this house again! Do bring earplugs for possible rooster and donkey noises as night.

This house was beautiful, welcoming, and very well located. Both Lisa, the owner, and Zoe, the house manager were great communicators and super helpful before and throughout our stay. The house is beautifully designed and was a great place to hang out with friends. The bedrooms were private but the community areas were comfortable and fun to hang out in. The pool gets great sun most of the day and has nice shaded mini palapa for those that don’t want the sun exposure. And the view from the pool and the upstairs bedrooms was incredible! Perfect for the sunsets. In terms of location, a (long) set of stairs right down the street lead right to the plaza so it is one of the more accesible homes on Gringo Hill. This house was above and beyond what we expected, and made our trip a great experience. We’d come back any time!

Words cannot express the magical feeling we had walking into Casa Nicoya for the first time. The evening sun cast a heavenly glow throughout the open air main level and we were transported into one of our best vacations ever! Leaving was so incredibly hard, because we really loved Casa Nicoya! As someone has already mentioned, the pictures (which are great) do not entirely capture the essence or the true feel of the space. We spent four nights, but it wasn’t nearly enough. We can’t wait to go back! Thanks to Zoey for being a great property manager and for answering all of my questions!! We are looking forward to our next visit!!!

There are so many great things to say about Casa Nicoya. First of all Lisa is amazing. She is incredibly responsive and offered us a ton of suggestions and recommendations from dining, to activities, to where to find the best wine. Every interaction with Lisa was a pleasure. Zoey, the property manager is also incredible. She made herself available to answer any questions we had and was super friendly and helpful. The house itself is exquisite, seriously have never been in a more gorgeous space. It was almost too nice to want to leave - we could have spent the entire week in the house and been content! For those of you who do want to venture out, the location is totally walk able to the downtown area and beaches. We rented and car and didn't use it it once! The kitchens are fully stocked, the beds are super comfortable, there's tons of fresh drinking water, and the views are outstanding - there's nothing bad to say about this place. We will definitely be back!

Casa Nicoya is truly everything we expected AND so much more! The casa has been so thoughtfully put together to make your stay effortless. Small touches like extra hats, beach bags, sunscreen, and games/books really make the experience. The space is so calming and tranquil, with all the open views and lounge spaces you can really relax. You are a 3 minute walk from town but also feel removed from the noise and tucked away in the trees. It's a perfect location! The entire process of communication was amazing, every question answered and extra details provided. You are in great hands with Lisa and Zoey. Really this is the spot, you've found the one.

We had an amazing time at Casa Nicoya. Lisa was super helpful in helping us get to and from the airport, and Zoey, the house manager, was ever responsive whenever we had a question or needed anything. Breakfast on the top deck while the sun rises, and cocktails on any of the floors while the sun sets were the best. A five minute walk down the hill to the beach and bars was great, but it was equally nice that the house is removed from all the action. We definitely plan on returning!

Lisa’s place I so wonderful. It’s in a great location, just far brought from town to get away from any city noice but close enough to walk everywhere. We did get golf carts so we can get around super easy, it was a bit lazy of us because the town is so small, but I don’t regret it. She gave us such great tips and advice for our time in Sayulita. She went above and beyond to arrange pick up and drop off at the airport. We had massages in the house and even had a private chef come teach us how to cook a few dishes! The beds were cozy and it was nice to have AC. The showers were stocked and so was the rest of the house. We can’t wait to come back and visit.

Casa Nicoya was the perfect place for us to enjoy Sayulita with friends! We've been to Sayulita as a couple a year before and arranged to go back with friends this Thanksgiving. We rented the whole house (together with the downstairs casita) for the week and it was perfect for 3 couples + 1 single friend. The location is really just a 5-10 minute walk from the town, but it is a steep hill so we did get a golf cart just in case. We mostly walked but it was nice to have the cart to go to beach (esp Playa los Muertos) and carry umbrellas, other beach gear (provided at the casa - thank you!), groceries, etc. The pool area was great, we enjoyed it a lot. There are 3 kitchens and a few different living spaces, sitting areas, etc. across the 3 (+2) floors so plenty of privacy if you need some peace and quiet. Lisa also arranged our airport transfer and a boat tour for us, which was the highlight of our trip :) Thank you Lisa!

It was certainly memorable... I was super excited to sleep in the open air room but due to the neighboring donkey (who later was the bunt of many family jokes) and mosquitos, I had to retreat downstairs to an AC room. Mosquitos seem to have a special interest in me and I am also a very light sleeper, so others may not suffer as much. We loved the layout of the house, the roominess, the views, the outside/inside feel, having two kitchens, the pool, and I was especially pleased with the decor and overall minimalism. (Our next Airbnb was very cluttered with stuff everywhere, and I appreciated that Lisa’s place was not.) On our last couple of days we found a very near to the house shortcut of stairs that directly led to the downtown plaza. Ideal location to being downtown yet still removed. Be prepared for a short hike up the hill. There was an issue at checkin, in which my phone was dead from my young son using it on the airplane and not charging it (we were apart on the plane) and I wasn’t able to access the code for the door. Even after charging my phone, without WiFi I still couldn’t get the code. It would be super helpful if the code was sent the day before travel. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Lisa’s place and would return. Thanks!

Host Response

Thanks for the feedback Camille! The code is always accessible via the Airbnb interface under "check-instructions" for you to review in preparation for your trip. We will be sure to point this out to future guests to ensure they screenshot it before travel. Thanks!

It’s hard to believe but the pictures don’t even do this place justice. It’s such a sanctuary and the open layout and beautiful decor make it the perfect hilltop escape. Be prepared to walk up quite a few steps from the pool to the top floor and uphill from the town but everything is so close (maybe 6 minutes to all the restaurants and a couple more to the beach) and the views are amazing. The open layout was beautiful and we didn’t have any bugs so sleeping essentially outside was such a great experience. The animals (birds and donkeys) were a little noisy in the mornings but that’s what makes it feel like you’re on vacation somewhere otherworldly. The house manager and Lisa were super responsive and helpful too. We’ll definitely be back!

Ultimate Sayulita experience, and it all starts at your home away from home! From the minute we booked, till our departure from Casa Sayulita, this house met and exceeded all of our vacation needs. Communication from the host is dialed in, and they went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable during our stay. THE HOUSE! Casa Nicoya is beautiful to say the least. The taste and style of this house really shines through with ease. We found ourselves wanting to experience the house... just as much as seeing the streets filled with flags and colors in town. Definitely a treat to stay here. (We felt we had absolutely everything we needed, kitchen, bathroom, towels, cozy sleeping comforts, etc) and the morning light! Waking up in this oasis is astounding. The location to town for us was ideal, and we loved being close enough to walk wherever we wanted/needed, but also far enough away to avoid the daily noise of the town/nightlife. We really felt as if we just fit right into this cute Mexican town, thanks to the help of this casa and all of the clear/precise details from the hosts! The pool area is magical and inviting, perfect for taking a break and relaxing. And all of the cool little nooks in this house are truly amazing. I can’t say enough about how much we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Casa Nicoya just gets it! Book it! You’ll fall in love.

I had stayed in Sayulita a couple times prior but I have to say this was my favorite spot so far. Clean and well decorated home. Beautiful sunset views. Felt far enough from town to get some peace and quiet but with a super convenient stairway right by the house we were down at bars, restaurants, the beach in 5 minutes. Lisa and Eric were great hosts and the property manager, Zoey was very attentive and helpful. Can’t recommend it enough!

BOOK THIS HOUSE NOW! I recently stayed at Lisa's home in Sayulita with 6 other friends and we were totally blown away by how spectacular this house is. We knew, from the photos, that we had booked a great place but once you are there in person it's even better. Excellent location to town and 3 beautiful beaches, gorgeous views, incredibly clean, outfitted with comfortable living spaces and bedrooms and well equipped kitchens. I cannot recommend this house highly enough. Both Lisa (owner) and Zoey (manager) were responsive, supportive and gave us great advice and guidance on our trip. Helping with recommendations and setting up shuttles to/from the airport in Puerto Vallarta were just the tip of the iceberg with both. We all can't wait to go back!

This house is amazing! My husband and I stayed here recently for our wedding week. We were married in sayulita and wanted to have a lovely home as a base for everyone to come and visit. We had all the girls getting ready at the house and the photos of that were incredible. The pool area is a lot larger than I expected and we often had groups of 10-15 around to lounge with us comfortably. Zoey and Lisa both sent us good luck messages on the day of our wedding which was a thoughtful touch. The beds in the treehouse room and the main floor are quite firm and the room upstairs opposite the treehouse room has quite a soft mattress (queen). There were so many kitchens and utensils in the kitchens but we were missing scissors. The hammock was so relaxing and we were provided with plenty of drinkable water which we appreciated. Great experience and would definitely stay again.

I cannot recommend Lisa’s place enough. I was traveling with eight friends, all arriving at different times and complicated schedules, and from start to finish Lisa was above-and-beyond helpful in answering all my questions and arranging transfers and activities. She responded to my messages super fast and sent over a welcome packet with all the information and recommendations we could possibly need. As for the house, WOW! The location is perfect for watching the sunset over the ocean. It was impeccably clean. There were so many added, unexpected touches like beach totes and yoga mats that really helped to enhance our trip. We loved having bathrooms in every room, making it much easier for nine girls to get ready and out the door on time. And there were so many beautiful common spaces to spend time together. Zoey helped us with anything we needed from the moment we arrived and Celi came to cook a few delicious meals. We hope to make a trip to Sayulita and Lisa’s home into an annual event. Again, I can’t express enough how much of a pleasure the entire experience was.

This place is even better in person! Lisa is definitely one of the best hosts I have experienced through international travels. The views and location to near downtown Sayulita make this place the perfect Airbnb for your stay. The rooms were clean, stylishly “decor’d” and welcoming! Listen to all of Lisa’s recommendations for food and activities while in Sayulita, you will not be disappointed! Will definitely be staying here again the next time I come to Sayulita.

Casa Nicoya is an absolute DREAM. This property takes you to a cozy oasis tucked in the hills of Sayulita. A very manageable walk through the cobble streets of town takes you straight to the beach, and the perfect route to pick up some street tacos to enjoy back at the Casa. Lisa's guidebook to your stay has everything you could need, and her recommendations for restaurants, bars and experiences in town are on point! We tried nearly everything on the list, and just when we didn't think it could get any better, we were proven otherwise. For any questions or concerns during your stay, Lisa or the property manager are incredibly responsive, and made sure that everything was a breeze. Most mornings, we cooked our own breakfast at Casa Nicoya. Every kitchen (yes, there are three!) is fully stocked with cooking ware, eating utensils, and drink ware for every occasion. We slept three couples (6 people in total) in Lisa's property, and felt that we could have very comfortably added one more couple given that we had an entire bedroom unused during our stay. I already miss Sayulita and will forever dream of waking up in Casa Nicoya. We'll be back!!

This house is awesome! I’ve been to Sayulita many times and never stayed in a place quite like this. The house is very stylish and is even better in person (which is hard to believe). We came with three other couples and the house is spacious enough for everyone. There are multiple levels and each has its own sitting area which is unique. I would definitely recommend staying here and I hope to be back again. Thanks for everything, Lisa!

Our stay at Casa Nicoya was INCREDIBLE. First the village of Sayulita is so lovely, a great place if you want to get away from the resort areas of Mexico. I felt safe and everyone was friendly. Animals are walking around everywhere so we got to see chickens, donkeys, iguanas, a Mexican raccoon and geckos! Very cool experience. The geckos in the house are fun to watch, they stay up in the ceilings and eat all the bugs, which is great! I don't think the pictures do the house justice. When I first opened the door I was blown away how beautiful the house and scenery was. Communication with Lisa and the property manager was fantastic. A hurricane was going to hit the West Coast of Mexico the day before our trip and they both sent me updates. Luckily everything was fine! Since the house is open air some of the areas were a little wet and I knew that was a possibility going down there at the tail end of the rainy season. The water quickly dried up in the heat! The house is a quick walk down to the main village and beach. It is a little hilly. We didn't have a golf cart and were just fine. Maybe if you were older or had children I would recommend a golf cart. I highly recommend staying here. I would definitely come back!

Casa Nicoya is like having your own personalised resort. The open air design of the Casa, coupled by the jungle views makes it feel like you're living in a tree house. We rented out the entire Casa, and it accommodated 8 of us perfectly. Most of the bedrooms are enclosed to provide comfort from the heat and bugs. Only one bedroom is open air, but it has mosquito nets and plenty of fans to keep you cool. The pool area opens up to an incredible view of the jungle and ocean - a perfect view for some spectacular sunsets. The Casa is a very short walk to the centre of town and beach. It's a steep walk back up, but it's a good way to burn off all those tacos! We didn't get to meet Lisa, but communication with her before arrival was excellent. Lisa didn't hesitate to answer any questions and provided us with a detailed welcome packet with plenty of tips about everything we needed to know about Sayulita. The property manager Zoey was extremely friendly. If you are scare to use steps this house it's Not for you. to go to Sayulita Downtown and beach you need to make a 8-10 minutes walk in a step Hill, we recommend if you can a golf cart to make easy and fast trips, the house also have available beach gear such: beach umbrellas, portable chairs, and short float boards to have enough fun at the beach and avoid rentals of this stuff on site!! We strongly recommend this house!!

Lisa’s house in Sayulita was amazing! My friends and I were saying it looked like a dream home out of a travel magazine. The open layout and different patios brought so much life to this place. The commute to get to the town walking takes about 5-10 minutes but I would recommend golf carts to avoid walking up the hills especially in the heat. It is a great way to cover the town and get to some of the local spots like hippie market or playa de los muertos. Overall the house was clean, the host was awesome at communication and would recommend this place to anyone visiting Sayulita.

Our stay in Casa Nicoya was incredible! The place was better than the photos. It's perfect distance into town and to the beach. Everything was walkable. We had all we needed, and yet the house manager even added in extras such as a bottle of champagne and a card to congratulate us on our nuptials. On top of having a house manager at our fingertips, Lisa checked in with us before and during our stay to make sure we were well taken care of. They offered an extensive book of recommendations of things to do, places to eat, as well as in case of emergency contacts which made us feel incredibly safe. We highly recommend staying here and will do so when we plan to come back. Sayulita is magical and staying at Casa Nicoya was the cherry on top!

We were three couples staying at Casa Nicoya for about one week - a fantastic place to stay while in Sayulita. The three bedrooms were perfect for our group and each one had a special feature or design piece that made it special. The up-and-down kitchens were very convenient for preparing snacks or drinks, and the pool area and palapa were fantastic for lazy days in. Communication with the host was quick and easy, and the host even organized a day trip for us and made several recommendations. Highly recommended and will stay here again if returning to Sayulita.

If you ever get the chance to stay in this gem in Sayulita, you will not regret it! The place looks like it came straight from a dream. We had 2 couples and 2 solo friends on this trip and the house felt incredibly spacious. There are a lot if stairs in the house, so if you are staying up in the tree house level or down in the lower casita, be prepared for a workout. We personally liked the exercise. Lisa was great at communicating quickly with anything we needed while planning for our trip, and Zoe was very prompt to reply with any questions we had during our stay. The only downside was the water pressure upstairs was a little lacking even with the faucet on, but this was really minor in comparison to how awesome the house is.

10 Gold Stars! Lisa and her team are pretty much everything you could ever want from a host. She helped me every step of the way with suggestions on where to eat, play and go. She helped coordinate our travel, a chef and suggested probably one of the best activities I've ever done which was spending a day with Ally Cat boat company. The house was spectacular. We went with 10 people and stayed in every nook and cranny of the place and had tons of space. Effortlessly styled and extremely comfortable beds. It was a super short walk right into town with everything at our fingertips. I also took advantage of the grocery service she offered through Busy Burro which I highly recommend. It was so easy and nice having all our groceries and alcohol already there waiting for us when we arrived. I highly highly recommend staying here. There was one small mishap and Zoey the manager was there in 5 mins and had the entire situation cleaned, fixed and back to good by the time we left for dinner and came back. It was impeccable service. If you can have Chelley the housekeeper/chef cook for you one night. Hands down some of the best mexican food i've ever had, the flan was out of this world. GO GO GO. I can't wait to go back!

This house is so gorgeous; I think the sunset views were our favorite part of our stay. We really appreciated little touches like the straw totes that we used for shopping in town, the filtered water on every level, the beach towels, and the suggestions for where to go, what to eat, etc. We also loved our dinner prepared by the housekeeper, Celly - her chile rellenos were the best we had all week. We rented the entire house, including the lower level casita, and each level of the house is sort of its own separate entity, which allowed for privacy when needed, but also made it easy and comfortable to hang out on any level (kitchen access, bathrooms, etc.). We originally planned to be a group of 7, and ended up a group of 5, but the house would have easily and comfortably accommodated 4 couples. As others have mentioned, much of the house is open to the elements, which did not bother us at all, and is exactly what we were looking for when choosing this location for our trip. And of course, it is tucked into a hillside, which means traveling up and down stairs in the house and stairs/roads into town is part of the package. We rented a golf cart for our stay, but could have managed without. Also, if you're there on a Friday, definitely be sure to make a trip down to the farmer's market on the other side of the bridge - it was one of the highlights of our trip. If we are ever a big group returning to Sayulita, we'd love to stay here again.

Such an amazing place! We got married in Sayulita in January, and we stayed at casa Nicoya with some of our family. The property is over several levels which gives the house a fun feeling with several places to relax & is also great for time out when you need it. The pool area was just the right size for having people over for a bbq. Lisa & Zoey took care of every little detail to make us feel at home. The communication between us and Zoey was prompt and smooth.

Lisa's home was an absolute dream! We celebrated my best friend's bachelorette here and had an incredible time. The views were incredible and just a five minute walk to the center of town. My only regret was that three days wasn't enough to enjoy all that Lisa's home and Sayulita have to offer! As shown in the pictures, the space has a really open design which is an incredibly way to really feel like you're enjoying the great outdoors. The weather in Sayulita was incredible when we went (January) so the open air was refreshing. The home was beautifully decorated and really comfortable. We will definitely be back!

Thanks, Lisa, for receiving us in your beautiful home! Besides the beauty of it and the cleanliness, we enjoyed the most and really appreciated all the careful details that were waiting for us, like the nice and useful bags for the beach and the mosquitos repellent, as well as all the other basics provided. Zoey's attention was also great. She was very kind and came as soon as we arrived to Casa Nicoya to receive us. We felt like everything was taken care of. We followed your rules and hope you find everything in order from our side. Thanks again and have a joyful year! Sincerely, Silvestre, Paloma, Toni and Silvia

Lisa's house is wonderful and I totally recommend staying there if you have the chance. It is located up on gringo hill so if you have any issues with walking you might want to get a golf cart. Our group got one because we get lazy on vacation! Half the time we'd walk and half the time we'd use the cart. There is a stairway near the house that takes you towards the heart of town and is the quickest and most direct route to town and beach. It's good excerscise for sure. We had the entire house including the 2 level casita that is below the pool level. From top to bottom: Top floor - there are 2 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms, a full kitchen, dining area and living room space. Great views from here! Bedroom 1 is enclosed with a floor fan and an air conditioner. Bedroom 2 is palapa style and is not enclosed but is private enough. Ceiling fan and floor fan but no AC. A couple stayed there with zero issues or complaints and loved the views in the morning. Main floor - the place where we all came together. I would say that it was our main kitchen, living room and dining room. We had a cook come in to make us dinner a few times and it was a perfect place to have a candle light meal. There is an enclosed bedroom and bathroom with air conditioning on the main floor as well as an additional 1/2 bathroom by the front door. Next level is the pool, outdoor shower and a palapa for shade. Really relaxing and nice views. Next level down is the casita living room and kitchen and down a few more stairs is the enclosed bedroom and bathroom with air conditioning. The casita is the most private area if you want to be separate from the main house. Towards the end of our trip the water pump for the main house went out. The bad - we were without running water for about 8 hours. The good - Zoey, the property manager, came over right away (about 9:30pm) checked out the situation and had a plumber there by 10. A new water pump was installed in the morning and by the time everyone got out of bed the water was back on. Now you won't have this issue to worry about but if something else does come up I feel like it will be handled quickly and without worries. If Casa Nicoya is available, book it. Communication with Lisa was quick and easy and her property manager Zoey, is knowledgeable and helpful with whatever you might need. Looking forward to my next trip to Sayulita soon!

We LOVED our stay at Casa Nicoya!! It was straight out of a dream! We were fortunate enough to spend our honeymoon there. Perfectly perched on a hill just out of earshot from the music downtown but close enough to stroll back and forth from the beach, shops, and restaurants throughout the day. The views are breathtaking from each level and this time of year the vegetation was especially lush. The home itself is so beautifully decorated, spacious and comfortable we could have never left it and still had a phenomenal time. Lisa was very responsive, concise and made us feel genuinely at home. With the welcome packet comes a wealth of resources and travel tips for Sayulita which we referenced often. Be sure to print and pack that info. Among the recommendations we booked private surf lessons with Risa and Diego through Surf It Out, Encaustic Art lessons with Zoey Pierce, and a snorkeling day trip to Isla Coral through MexiTrex all which were amazing adventures we highly recommend and would do again. We are already planning our next stay there. Thank you Casa Nicoya for making our honeymoon so magical!!! Looking forward to our next visit!
