Our 2nd time at Erick's place in Bucerias and we were just as happy as our original visit. You cannot beat this location! A pool on the beach, endless restaurants nearby, and a fully furnished home that we feel very comfortable and safe at with our small children.

We had the pleasure of staying at Villas Polymar in Casa Caracol. We booked a week with myself, my college aged daughter and my mother (83)! The property is amazing! I'm a tough critic, but I don't think you could find a more amazing place in Bucerias. Our own bedrooms and bathrooms, a gorgeous living room and a great kitchen. Once in a lifetime! Go for it!!! Laura was so sweet and very helpful. A Gem. The pool is lovely, and the beach is stunning. Just book it now!! All other guests were delightful (in the other 2 houses), considerate, and sharing the pool and beach area was better than I imagined. Unfortunately, we were caught up in the siege. Erick was amazing with his communication, and they treated us SO well when we had to stay for an extra 3 nights. Kudos to his family for being in touch and generous because we couldn't leave on our check out day (4extra nights!) We ran into internet problems that I am sure are fixed now. More sun loungers per house would be a plus.

We loved the location and the pool and the beach access with our own palapa! The place was very clean and spacious, grounds were well-maintained, and we enjoyed interacting with the guests staying in one of the other homes on the property. The host was very responsive and helpful. The property felt very peaceful and protected. The neighborhood is bustling with restaurants and shops and very walkable. Checked all our boxes for a great vacation!

Amazing location and property. We had the front house, which was incredible and made the experience, as we had easy access to the pool and beach, plus never-ending views of the ocean, and it was close enough that you could hear the waves crashing on the shore. The place was comfortable and clean. The only suggestion would be to add a few basics to the kitchen - salt, pepper, coffee, etc. Erick was a great host. Extremely communicative and helpful with local recommendations.

Everything about this place was top notch! The location, the pool, the private beach....I can't recommend this place enough. We had the best vacation with my family, spanning from 1 year old to 80...it met all our needs. We rented 2 houses. It was safe, clean. private, and beautiful. We loved being able to walk anywhere (you do not need a rental car), there is a jazz club right next door and coffee shop across the street. We will certainly be back!

We loved loved loved this spot. It was the perfect place for our family to stay. Where do I begin? The location is amazing...right by coffee shops, restaurants, shopping, jazz club, etc. Short walk to the town center. The pool-SOOO nice. Big, with a ledge for the little kids to be safe. The grounds were so nice with the grass. And it's right on the beach with a section of private beach too. The house was really nice and met all our needs, safe, private, clean. I cannot recommend this place enough and we will certainly be back.

This was our 2nd time staying at the property. Last year we had house closest to the beach and we loved it so much that we came back a year later and rented all 3 houses as it was the perfect scenario for our 6 families. Our stay was generally OK with our stay, but we ran into some issues this time with the owner. First, there was a previously broken item that needed repair and the owner immediately pointed the blame at our group. I asked the individuals staying in that house to provide an explanation and the owner then asked me if I had rented out the house to other people??? Lastly, the middle house had electricity issues where usage around 6p - 7p when folks were taking showers and getting ready. The owner suggested using less electricity to address the issue which is not ideal as it is turning dark and people need to get ready. At one point the house didn't have electricity for 3+ hours. He was very lucky that our group was together and the houses weren't rented by different groups

Erick’s home is one of the most extraordinary places we have ever stayed. We were a group of three families with three generations and the place was perfect. Wonderful direct access to the beach and private pool. Ideal location in town with lots of great restaurants right outside the door and within a few blocks and not far from the centro with a market and more local life. Strongly recommend to anyone considering a vacation in one of Mexico’s best beach towns — Bucerias is so special because of the quality of the beach, calm surf and local village life without overwhelming resorts and tourists — a highly unusual balance. Thank you Erick for everything!!

We had a great stay in this home and Erick was an amazing host. Very attentive and thorough. This is a 3 home complex gated community with a shared pool and shared private beach area. When we stayed, we had the space all to ourselves except for the last couple of days. We didn’t mind sharing the pool, the space is large enough. I am mentioning it is a shared space in case anyone doesn’t realize that at first. I gave almost everything 5 stars because it is truly a safe, clean, lovely home, with a pool and private beach. However, Bucerias wasn’t my favorite area. I do like it better than Puerto Vallarta, which is super busy and crowded, but there is less to do here. Especially when we went in July, which is off season for good reason, it is super hot!! This meant some places were closed and walking the town was less desirable. Traveling to PV is costly in taxis/Ubers, so keep in mind. All in all this is a great place to stay if traveling to Bucerias and Erick is an awesome host.

Excellent location, super friendly Erik, I solve several problems for us is for super quiet plan and everything super nice.

I don’t want to says it’s a bait and switch but I do feel a bit more of transparency is needed especially at a premium price. There’s actually 3 buildings in the property. If you notice the post does not mention this or shows in the pictures. In the last review a gentleman said he wasn’t aware either and no issue since it was vacant. Not in our case. There was construction from 7:00 am -9:00 pm with loud music, multiple times we had to wait until they moved their vehicles to leave the property. To be clear I did reach out Kevin who advised a family member owned the property and he had no control over the work. Airbnb offered to move us but Kevin said all work will stay inside only to find out more workers came do exterior work. In addition, daily maintenance was done at Kevin property leaving no privacy. Kevin also said he would tell them not to do the maintenance but they still showed up. Again, if transparency was set no issues but that was not the case in our visit

Host Response

It's so imprecise that he didn't even know my name correctly, I'm Erick, not Kevin, greetings...

We had two families there a total of 7 people. Accommodations worked perfect for our setup. We loved it. I would say if the other two houses there were occupied it would likely have been a different experience. Not bad just not as free as this vacation was. The only thing that was a bit of drawback was the key management to get in and out of the property. Fully understand the need for security which was great but with multiple people coming and going from the property it wasn't as smooth. Thanks Erick for a great trip.

Erick’s place and the town of Bucerías are both magical! It was our first time visiting and both families on the trip absolutely loved the house and surroundings. It close to a lot of restaurants and all the amenities of the beach are at your doorstep. We without a doubt be back and in fact we’d love to buy the house from you!

Very much enjoyed the location of the home, with local shops, bakery, grocery, restaurants (taco shops to upscale), bike/board rentals within easy walking distance. Taxi stand 1 block away. House is 2nd of three in a row, behind the 1st house directly facing ocean/pool. Excellent private beach area with lounge chairs, shade. Beds are a bit hard, but we adapted fine and slept well. Great to have large washer/dryer. Well equipped kitchen for cooking a variety of meals. Perfect layout with 3 upstairs bedrooms w/private baths (bring shampoo). Large living/dining area with lots of windows, great for games and room to spread out for our family of 7. A/C worked fine in all rooms. Not much available for cable TV. Mid-week cleaning included was nice.

This was an amazing place for a memorable vacation. Everything was lovely. The beach access is perfect. We felt safe with locking gates. A 5 gallon water jug with an automatic spout was there and it worked well. Lots of abundant hot water!! Remember you are in Mexico so if you plan on using the BBQ you need charcoal. Lots of amazing places to eat. We had a chef come in one evening and we highly recommend it!! Thank you for a wonderful stay. We will return!

We rented this unit in Jan 2024. The location is spot on, and walkable to many restaurants and shopping. Erick was a pleasure to communicate with, very courteous and prompt with responding to messages prior and during our stay. The house accommodated our 5 adult group well, the 3 bedrooms having en suites was a big plus. You can't go wrong renting this spacious unit that sits right on the beach while taking in the beautiful sunsets from your beach chair or balcony. What a great amenity having the pool bathroom and outdoor shower to rinse off from the beach. Out of order on our arrival but quickly rectified the next day. We are looking forward to booking our returning to this ideal location and gem of a home. Thank you Erick for everything.

Our family of seven, including a toddler and a preschooler had a wonderful stay at Erick’s place. It was spotless and attractively decorated. Beds were super comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed, and it was really helpful having the washer and dryer. The pool was fun for all of us, as was the private beach area. We also loved the easy access to the ocean edge for wading and beach walking. Proximity to way too many excellent restaurants for our brief stay. We had a wonderful time. Highly recommend to others.

House was ok. Keys need to be updated with electronic keyless entry, very antiquated. We had to waste precious vacation time waiting to let in repairman for AC that didn’t show for 3 days. We left the kitchen cleaner than we found it, the sharp knives had the previous guests food stuck on them. We washed everything in the kitchen before using it-most needed a good rinse at least, there isn’t a dishwasher. There were food crumbs and a false eyelash (yuck!) on the living room floor. There were hairballs behind the bathrooms doors. Upon arrival Mrs. Laura didn’t greet us, the 1st house let us in. Mrs. Laura was sitting with her family and didn’t hear our calls. Communication with her was called out by previous guests; she should try the translator app, we had problems understanding each other then we used the app. Great neighbors in both of the other houses! From 75 - 2 yrs old. We all socialized on and off the property. Nice beach, saw whales everyday. Great restaurants nearby.

Erick’s place was awesome! It was a prime location in Bucerias, right on the beach with the pool right next to the sand as well! Walking distance to lots of great restaurants, coffee shops, and massages on the beach! It had everything you could need, besides lacking toiletries like shampoo, conditioner and body wash- so make sure to bring (we did not)! One other note is the pool is shared with 2 other units (it was problem but we hadn’t realized this was the case when we booked so just a heads up). Erick was super responsive and Ms Laura was great!

The location of the home was wonderful but there is only 1 set of keys (which were also gigantic…think high school janitor style). We had 3 couples staying and it was really difficult to come and go from the property. The beds were rock hard. I slept on the couch in the living room because the bed was unbearable. If you’re a family and sticking together your entire vacation, this house would probably work for you. Not great for groups or a good nights sleep.

The location of this house was absolutely wonderful in that it was close to restaurants (and a supermarket) and the private beach was right out front. We stayed in the house closest to the pool, which gave us great views, and the access to the beach was really something special. The guests in the other houses were nice, which was good, since you do have to share some of the communal spaces. That said, everything is labeled with your specific house, so you know which table, chairs, garbage, BBQ is yours. Erick was very responsive before and during our booking and quickly helped us fix an issue with the oven. Two bedrooms have decks where you can see the ocean and the other bedroom faces the other way. This is one of the nicer houses I've stayed in and there don't seem to be many houses like it in Bucerias where you're in a standalone house with pool and beach access.

Pros: -Walkability: we didn’t touch a car other than the taxi to and from the airport. -Food: Birria trucks in the am, tamale lady walking in the street. Walk downtown (10 minutes leisurely) for some aguachiles and tostadas in the center square along with Birria Dorado just a bit past the square for a tour of salsas. For something nicer, La Negra is great, Cobojo (maybe spelled wrong) for sourdough and great breakfast too, Palma Bakehouse, el búnker, Mr. Cream pancakes and La postal all exceeded expectations. Beach is a huge draw, our kids loved the private area and the beach as a whole is 10/10. Back to food, there are people walking along the beach all day selling various wares, sweets, tostadas, agua frescas, crickets and artfully carved mangos/pineapples and coconuts. Staff was responsive, accommodating and tolerant of our lousy español. Will absolutely return!

I want to be totally transparent. I rated excellent on all of the questions, but in reality we never got to stay at Erick's place. The night before flying to Puerto Vallarta I got Covid and we had to cancel the whole trip. BUT, the reason I rated Erick so well is because EVERY single question and communication I sent was responded to within minutes, including a change in reservation to lengthen our stay by one night that I made a week prior. I have booked many villas in many places and Erick's responsive was without question the most supportive and professional I've experienced. We hope to book to stay there quite soon and I will then post a new full reivew.

The location is perfect, the outside area where the pool and beach are perfect. But the inside is run down. Bathrooms are dirty. The drain in one of the bathrooms was clogged. The downstairs bathroom had pee on the seat. Kitchen and wash/dryer room needs a bit of love. The place just felt dirty and run down. Way too expensive for what you get.

Host Response

Hello April, I just read the evaluation of your stay in Bucerias, I just want to tell you that I would have liked you to communicate all the issues you mention to be able to support you at the moment and make your stay more comfortable and pleasant. I'm sorry that they had to return earlier than expected, according to what they informed me, no way, I just would have liked you to be more objective in the comments since I consider that the property is reciprocal with the price we charge...

The place is literally in the middle of bucerias and you get a beach for the backyard. Extremely walkable neighborhood (just don’t bring strollers cuz cobblestone). The house / bedrooms / kitchen / pool is exactly as described and extremely comfy and clean. Erick and the maintenance staff are super responsive and extremely kind. The pool was nice but isn’t heated and was a little cold due to the season (end November). However the beach is very swimmable.

Our family loved the beautiful beach seating & private pool of this lovely and comfortable home. Everything in the listing is accurate. The home is well -appointed and an easy beach house. The home shares a private pool, garden area, and private stretch of beach with 2 other homes. It was very relaxing to sit by the pool & beach. Every afternoon we watched dozens of kite surfers. We had fun renting bikes, E-foil, & stand up paddleboard from Surf Mexico - just down the street. We discovered some great restaurants - Mr. Cream, La Carmelita for tacos, Armando's, El Postal, & Sandrino's. Everyone we encountered in Bucerias was welcoming and friendly. Coordinating arrival, departure, & any question with Erick was really easy & fast.

There is no better place to stay in this area. Close enough to Sayulita and PV for day trips, but far enough away to be able to relax. Eric’s home is perfect. Perfect location, perfectly appointed - and the pictures don’t do it justice. The interior of the home is modern and airy. The beach is right out the back door, and it’s stunning. I was at this home for a week with my two teenage sons and my husband. The location is literally perfect - we left the teenagers at the house most nights to have drinks or dinner at one of the dozens of amazing places nearby. I never felt nervous or unsafe. I truly can’t wait to come back. Thank you Eric!

Villas Polymar, Villa 2 Coral, was the perfect getaway for my friends and I from cold and snowy New Mexico. The house is lovely and does not feel like a vacation rental at all, but like a home. The kitchen is fully stocked from dishes to cookware. We especially enjoyed the private beach and saw whales in the bay from our location. Villa 2 Coral is also within walking distance of many excellent restaurants and bars, a pharmacy, a liquor store with a decent wine selection and a short walk to the hospital to get Covid rapid tests needed for entry into the USA. Sra. Laura, the housekeeper, checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed. Erick, the owner, was prompt and available if we had a question. I highly recommend Villa 2 Coral for a wonderful place to stay.

We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. The location was amazing - waking up to ocean views - walking distance to all the best restaurants in Bucerias. My family, and especially my three year old, loved it here. Will definitely be coming back!

Perfect location in front of the sea. Very attentive hosts, excellent communication with them.

Casa Caracol at Villas Polymar is fabulous. It is architecturally stunning and the location in Bucerias and right on the beach cannot be beat. Erick was totally responsive whenever we had a question. When we arrived we were met by Seniora Laura who showed us around the property and cleaned once a week.... hard working and very helpful as was the grounds staff. We owned a home in Bucerias for 12 years and watched Villas Polymar being built. When we sold our property we decided that if ever there was a house we'd be happy renting it would be Casa Caracol, and we were right. You cannot go wrong. Bucerias can get noisy at times, especially Easter week, but Casa Caracol is located far back from the street, and there are residences on either side so it is well buffered. We never heard a sound. Whether in frolicking in the surf or splashing in the pool this is a great destination for a few couples or a family. Our month-long stay couldn't have gone better.

Very nice, clean and super central house with the sea at the foot of the house and with the supermarket and shops very close by. Erick's very friendly and timely attention and response, he always answered our doubts and questions quickly and the beach was very nice and peaceful. I would definitely return.

Spacious house with a location that would be hard to match or beat. Because it is in the heart of Bucerias, car rental is absolutely not necessary as we walked of quickly ubered everywhere. The pool is nice but not heated. The beach is wonderful (sand not rocky like some places) and all bars, restaurants and even grocery shopping was very walkable. Like one block. If you needed the big box grocery, that was a $3 Uber ride away. The stairway needs some adjustment and the hot (usually just warm) water needs to be addressed but this place is big, clean and located very well. Erick responded to all of my email within 24 hours. Recommended.

We stayed at the front house for 10 days in February, ( there are 3 houses on this lot ) you are right on the beach with the pool outside you door if you stay in the front house. the 2 others houses behind are still very close to the beach you just do not get the view from them, , one couple we talked to like the back houses since they had small children . You cannot beat the location with the private beach on this property, walking distance to all restaurant and kissing Bridge, locked gates front and back so we felt very safe. since we stayed 10 days we did have maid service in the middle she did a great job cleaned for 5 hours. We did have people in both others houses which we got along great with , you share the pool and the beach area with them, but there is plenty of room on the beach area if you want your own space The front house is a little dated and could use some general maintenance, compared to the 2 other houses which look newer. I would recommend any of the 3 houses on this property

The best part of Erick’s place is his quick response to every question! He was very accommodating and helped me plan well. Next, for our family of 3 (mom, dad, 10 year old boy) the location is perfect! A walkable distance from the main square and half a block from the super friendly taxi stand if you need to venture further out. (Side note: we arranged a ride back to the airport with the taxi guys a couple days in advance. They were at the house early, grabbed all of our suitcases, and made the process really easy). We loved having the pool as an option but spent a ton of time in the ocean. Don’t miss the Wibit water obstacle course a 15 minutes walk down the beach! The other 2 houses were rented and all the other renters were fabulous. Friendly, respectful, chill. Last, it was such a treat to have little niceties like a huge jug of water and a bag of ice waiting for us upon arrival and a washer/dryer that didn’t smell like mold and dried well:). You will really enjoy this house and town!

We stayed 7 days during the Christmas holidays. We where 4 adults and 3 children. The villa was very clean and very well equipped. We had utensils for a group of 20! Each rooms has a full and large bathroom. The photos don’t show how nice the villa actually is. Easy access to the beach, quiet area with nice cafes and small restaurants. We had our private spot on the beach far from the crowds on other areas. The pool being in the shade much of the day the water this time of the year remains cold, the kids did not use the pool much. Erick our host, made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. There are 3 villas on the spot, each one lined up one behind the other. So only villa 1 has a view to the ocean. Simply make sure you confirm which villa you have booked if a view to the ocean is important to you. I strongly suggest this rental.

While we were pleased with all aspects of our stay, we were probably most impressed with the location of this home. It truly is a beach house with a gorgeous view of the beach from the living room and a private section of the beach reserved for the occupants. It felt quiet and private yet it was walking distance to everything!

We had a great week at Erick's beach house. We are a family of 6 adults, my husband and I along with our 2 college son's and their girlfriends. The set up of the house was perfect for our group, each bedroom has it's own bathroom so everyone was able to get what they wanted. You cannot beat the location, everything is within walking distance, the beach in front of the house was not crowded which was great very relaxing . Enough lawn furniture to meet our needs. The supermarket was walk-able and the Wednesday farmers market was fun. If you plan to do a lot of cooking you will want to either pack some spices from home or pick them up at the market as the kitchen only had salt and pepper. You will love the house, just like the pictures show.

3 couples spent 2 amazing weeks at Erick's place and loved every moment. The pictures don't do it justice. The house offers everything you could ever want. There are three bedrooms located on the top floor all with their own bathroom. 2 are located in the front and 1 in the back. The master has a very comfortable king size bed and large bathroom with large bath towels, face clothes, toilet paper, hand soap. A very nice surprise . The 2nd bedroom has a queen size bed and also a large bathroom. Both of these rooms had a patio door overlooking the pool and ocean. A spectacular view, especially the evening sunsets. The back room had a double bed and twin with its own bathroom. All rooms were stylish and had everything you would need. The main floor had a beautiful kitchen with lots of pots, pans, cups, glasses, plates etc... We drank the water and ice from the refrigerator dispenser and had no problems. There is a washer and dryer off the kitchen and a half bath. The sofa and table are large and a very spacious living area. The fish aquarium was a nice touch! The doors open fully so you can have the front of the house completely open, it felt like you were living outside. The pool wasn't heated but always very comfortable for swimming there is a bathroom outside by the pool and an outdoor shower which was great to wash up and not bring sand in the house. There is a gate which you can keep locked for safety and a private beach area roped off with chairs. There are two palapa's for shade. The house is within walking distance to everything you need. The restaurant next door is Encore and had great food and service. There is an outdoor market on Wednesday just down the street with fresh fruit, vegetables, souvenirs and food vendors. The house was cleaned once a week and we had fresh bathroom and pool towels replaced. We absolutely loved this place and would highly recommend it. Erick was great to deal with and always responded to my questions quickly.

This beachfront home is the perfect place to spend days or weeks relaxing and enjoying all of the great culture (and food!) Bucerias has to offer. The house is perfect for 6+ people, and offers comfortable amenities that make you feel right at home. Ample towels, linens, dishwear, etc., mean you don't have to worry about a thing. My family and I enjoyed countless hours by the pool and in the sand, just feet away from the huge sliding glass doors. Even the grounds people were always friendly, and very helpful, adding to the comfortable stay. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone considering a relaxing stay on one of the nicest (and quietest) parts of the beautiful Bucerias beach.

This house was exactly what we wanted for our stay. We were fortunate as another host had cancelled our reservation 6 days prior to this trip! A beautiful modern feel, a clean and refreshing pool (cleaned everyday), and right on the beach! I was able to launch and land my kite for kite-surfing directly in front on the house on the beach. Erick was very responsive to any questions we had, and Pedro (grounds keeper) was always around to help if we needed anything. House keeping came by every 4-5 days and left everything clean and the house smelling great every time. Restaurants, shops, groceries, and downtown are all close by and all easy to walk to, yet the house is still quiet and relaxing. You can easily rent this house and not need a rental car. We were here 12 days and never needed one. I would recommend staying here with a family, friends, or anyone who wants a fantastic beach front spot close to everything. The private roped off beach area is also a bonus if the beach gets full during peak season. This spot had very few people trying to sell you stuff on the beach....but the on beach massage was close and awesome :) We would absolutely stay here again.

We had a family of 5 stay for our annual holiday get away in Erick's home. He and his staff were very friendly and communicative. Be prepared to use your Spanish as the staff speaks little to no English. The home is truely ON the beach, which is clean and not too crowded even in peak season. It is a short walk from many wonderful restaurants, bakeries, bars, art galleries, etc. The provided kayak and boogie boards were used nearly every day, a major bonus! Only one minor hiccup was that the house sits on a lot with two other homes (one still under construction). No construction noise during our stay but we did have neighbors passing through the yard to get to the beach. They were, of course, very courteous and polite. Overall, an excellent house with great amenities and a fabulous location! We would definitely go back.
