Josh and Michael’s communications and responsiveness were outstanding. Josh messaged me daily inquiring how we were doing, he quickly resolved the cool pool and got the heat working. Michael contacted me before our arrival and passionately described the uniqueness of the property (his father n laws architectural legacy!). The property is extremely private, one of the best we have ever rented with huge outdoor living spaces on 3 levels, spectacular views and an awesome pool. We watched numerous whales every day. We prepare most meals ourselves and found the kitchen to be nicely equipped. The A/C is so powerful we only used it 1 hr a day. Your own transportation is a must, the 10 min drive from the main road is very bumpy. A 10 min walk to the long beach which was great to walk but the waves were too big to swim. There are numerous beaches all within 20 min drive. We loved our time here and highly recommend for families or 3/4 couples. Rob, Elsa,Rick,Kim,Patrick&Carol Saskatoon, Can

It's a magical place nestled in the jungle. A spacious house with many amenities but far from civilization… I recommend renting a car and having all the necessary supplies so you don't have to leave the house. Really an oasis of peace and quiet… with the best sunsets!!!

Host Response

Hi Mariana, I appreciate the feedback and have been working on how to aliviate the issues you identified, which a generator would be eliminate the lack of water when the power is out. It is difficult to know when a piece of equipment like the AC will fail but we have instituted a maintenance program for all 7 AC which I am hoping will help us stay on top of items when they might fail and can replace prior to it. Again thanks for helping me make Casa Dos Palmas the best it can be!

We stayed at this location last year and liked it so much we went back again this year. Jennifer was a great host and allowed us to change dates just a few weeks before due to some scheduling conflicts on our end. We really appreciated the flexibility. The house is very secluded and private. You can sit by the pool and not hear anything but the jungle surrounding the house. Power and internet went out sporadically throughout the week, but thats the nature of being in rural mexico. It didnt impact the vacation negatively in any way. We highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a quiet, secluded vacation spot.

This house was perfect for multi generational family (multiple levels is something to think about if mobility is issue) We had more than enough space for all family members to gather either on deck off kitchen, upper deck where bbq and fire table overlooks ocean view and the stars at night were incredible. If that’s not enough, the spectacular infinity pool was amazing to relax, swim or play card games outside, or sneak off on your own and find plenty of spaces in or out to read your favourite book. This was the perfect end to our vacation as was quiet but only a 10 minute walk to beach or 20 min car ride to SAN Pancho (SAN Francisco) where that small town vibe with markets, many restaurants and ocean front greets you. We had all we needed for a perfect getaway and hosts were very responsive to our needs. Thanks for a wonderful getaway.

We stayed at this lovely home for 5 nights during part of our time in the Puerto Vallarta area. The location is on the edge of a quiet town with lots of fresh air, jungle happenings, and ocean waves. We saw animals, enjoyed food & family time, laughed and enjoyed the serenity. Our family (children included) loved the setting, views, pool, and patio area. We enjoyed a couple of evenings at the ocean, dining at Litibu Sunset & even caught a children's baseball game in the near-by town of Higuera Blanca. This location is a great distance from the busier Sayulita & Nuevo Nayarit, which was a quick drive away. Josh & his wife Stef were accommodating & wonderful, welcoming to the area & answering our questions. 5 stars, would absolutely stay here again.

A perfect place, simply beautiful and pleasant. Between Jennifer and Josh's attention and the perfection of the place, it was a very pleasant experience. I hope to return soon to this beautiful and comfortable place.

It's a place we love. We've stayed before. We love its privacy. But now there was less attention to detail than last year. We appreciate Josh who was always attentive to us, unfortunately we ran out of water the last night, although Josh fixed it in the morning we were leaving. It's an ideal place for those of us who love the peace and quiet of a place away from urban life

The pictures dont do this justice. Great views of the ocean despite not being directly on the water. Very quiet, secluded location.

One of the best decisions made for our 10-day trip to Mexico was booking Casa Dos Palmas! We celebrated my best friend's 40th Birthday with a group of 5 women, and the house was perfect and we had ample space. To start, Michael immediately reached out upon booking to let us know he is available to help with any details. He went above any beyond, even going as far as helping us book masseuses to come to the house. He is so responsive and stayed in constant communication the entire trip. It was clear that he was genuinely invested in us having the best time possible. Josh greeted us upon check in and was so friendly. He made sure the house was immaculately clean and had everything we needed and more. We spent a lot of time in the pool and just as much time on the balconies enjoying the incredible ocean views. The town of Litibu is so cute, and the beach is gorgeous. I recommend at least one meal at Litibu Sunsets, and Margaritas On the Hill which is about 15min away. 11/10!!!

We loved the house, the layout supported multiple couples with privacy. The decks were great places to hang out and watch for whales (which we saw!). The house had everything we needed during out stay, and the property manager was very responsive with any questions we had. We enjoyed the pool very much, again able to view the ocean while in the pool, which was so fun! The house is as listed/shown, the owners and property manager were most helpful. We hope to come back again. Thanks!

We loved the house! Michael and Josh were very knowledgeable, friendly, punctual, funny. The pool was amazing. The fireplace on the rooftop was the best and made the experience that much better. We had Josh purchase our food before we arrived which I would highly recommend. He purchased everything to perfection! Michael was very informative and kept tabs to make sure we were having a great time which we were. We had seen whales and were quite surprised how close the ocean was! It was a great view! We will be coming back !

It is a beautiful house, much more than you can see in the photos, with ocean views from its beautiful balconies, very spacious and with all the amenities and details you need to spend an excellent vacation. Our favorite was the infinity pool that has a beautiful view and the perfect temperature to enjoy it. Josué is really kind, he was always attentive to what we needed, willing to give us recommendations and answers immediately, just like Michael. If you're looking to relax, get away from the noise, and enjoy nature, this house is perfect for you.

We had a wonderful week at this place! You really feel like you've come home… everything is ready for you to enjoy 1000% The terraces, the pool, the sunsets… uff! The beach is nearby, quiet and clean Josh is warm, friendly at all times attentive to any comments. The host also maintains communication and suggests extra services that make the experience even better. We would be lucky to return to Casa dos Palmas ! Thank you for everything

It's an ideal place for those who want to have a very quiet stay. The place is not ideal for those who want to have high activities and attractions, as it is far from the hustle and bustle. For us it was a great place... ideal for our vacation. My appreciation to Josh, the person who is attentive to our requests. And I thank Jennifer, Michael and Josh who offered to do the shopping in advance, and that when we arrived, everything was there. The house is ideal for the elderly, as its first floor has ideal additions for them.

Our stay was everything we could of asked for and more! Felt like home the minute we walked in 🙌 We were three couples and the house had plenty of space to gather or escape to one of the three/four expansive decks!!! The infinity pool was well heated and the view of the ocean made each swim even better!!! No expense was spared on the comfortable furnishings both inside and out 🤗 The sound of the waves and the birds were all we would hear on a daily basis. We will miss the surrounding jungle and of course our friend “Josh” who is the manager of this beautiful Casa! Would recommend to anyone wanting an “escape from reality”!!! Thank you Michael/Jennifer for sharing your home with us ♥️

The house is stunning! So many amenities! Extremely clean and really big even for a large group. Litibu beach which is about a 5-10 min drive is by far the nicest secluded beach in the area! Cons were that the dirt road to get to the house is a bit longer than an expected 20 min if you have a Jeep Wrangler with you and about 35 min if you have a compact car! You will have to drive to sayulita (40 ish min drive)or punta mita for nicer restaurants. Though litibu community is quiet and charming it does not have any restaurants. However a private chef was offered to us as part of the house we however declined as we wanted to explore a bit more! The house itself has everything you could possibly need if you would like to just stay, relax and enjoy! The communication with the owner and the house keeper was amazing anything we needed they answered with in minutes! We made amazing memories here and will be forever grateful we could enjoy them in casa Dos Palmas!!!

We cannot say enough how wonderful our stay was. We had an absolutely incredible time. It felt like a dream. We could not get enough of the views - we have so many photos. I appreciated all of the communication in advance - Michael provided tips and recommendations and they were all spot on and made our trip even more wonderful - from stocking our fridge to the car rental to dinner at the casa by Chef Renee to massages at the casa. We loved hearing the jungle sounds and crashing waves and our family of four felt incredibly safe in the house. Don't hesitate to book this incredible home - you will not regret it. We can't thank the hosts enough for sharing their slice of paradise with us.

Micheal and his team were wonderful. The casa was perfect for 2 families and we all had enough space. We dined on the upper patio and ate at Litibu grill, km surf bar, and in punta mita. We also made it up to San pancho. The beach was a close walk, and I walked to the Conrad every morning for my workout. Micheal and Josh were really helpful throughout the whole process. We couldn’t have done it without them. Chef Renee cooked for us one night. It was an outstanding experience- I highly recommend hiring them!

This place was perfect for our week getaway. We loved the area because it is away from the hustle and busy streets of sayulita. The beach area was perfect with few people and good waves to boogie board. Litibu Grill, which is right down the road, was our favorite spot for food and drinks while watching the beautiful sunsets. The house itself had everything we needed. The cleaning service kept things fresh and clean and José was a big help to get us to the house on our arrival. We would have never found it without his help! It was perfect to come back to the house after a long day at the beach and dip in the pool, then warm up by the fire pit upstairs after sundown. Highly recommend a stay here. Jennifer was always helpful and available whenever we needed! Thank you so much for a perfect getaway! Ashley

We loved our stay at Casa Dos Palmas, the place has everything the description has to offer and more. It is sparkly clean, well maintained, and every little detail has been set up to make your stay an enjoyable and comfortable one. Communication with the host was efficient and warm. The location is great, short drive to public beach. The views from the master suite are breathtaking. The only downside is— you will be sad to leave this amazing place.

Just to say... this is an amazing place. The house and the service are awesome.

Five stars, without a doubt. We spent a wonderful week in la casa de dos palmas, and it really exceeded our expectations. The house was very comfortable, clean, with all amenities and the private pool with view on the ocean was just spectacular. Exactly what we needed! The communication was easy, helpful and quick. We highly recommend trying Olivia´s cooking, it was incredible. We will definitely return when we can! Thank you Michael and everyone!

Not really sure how to describe this amazing place because words do not do it justice. We felt blessed from the minute we arrived. Michael and his staff were incredible from the moment we booked to the moment we sadly left. The communication and level of care was outstanding. The beautiful Mexican family who lovingly care for this spectacular home are amazing. My husband and I have a habit of travelling to the end of the road wherever we go. We seek out small communities, remote places and the beauty of being away from it all. Litibu is such a place. The community is proud of its beauty and the beach is outstanding. The house has fantastic views, amazing sunsets to enjoy and a loving feel. It was perfect for our 2 families. We can only hope to return again one day.

This house is exactly what you need for a relaxing vacation away from all the hustle bustle. The areas is so quiet and peaceful with gorgeous views! The house was immaculate and stocked with everything you could need. You get a lot of privacy in this house because of the multiple levels so it never felt crowded with our crew of 9. There are so many bathrooms and we loved that! The whole time we kept saying wow they really put a lot of thought into every detail in this house! We will for sure be returning:)

Can’t recommend highly enough!! Amazing house, pool, beach and very helpful and responsive owner and caretaker. The views from the pool, patio and roof deck are amazing. Watched the sunset every night. Home is very well equipped with everything you might want including towels, any cooking item you might need, pool toys, beach chairs and umbrellas, coolers and a plentiful supply of drinking water. The beach is a short walk or drive away and is beautiful. Nothing negative to say about our stay. Definitely need a rental car. You won’t regret staying here!

We were a group of seven and spent a week in the Casa dos palmas. From the moment we booked the house everything was perfect. Michael got in touch with me right away to introduce himself and provide me with all necessary information. Whenever I had a question he answered me immediately. Arriving at Sayulita (the little town close to the house), we were picked up and shown the way to the house by the local manager. Again, everything was perfectly organized. Coming to the house itself: it is located in a small, quiet community with private homes and access to the beautiful Litibu beach. It is surrounded by stunning vegetation and the jungle. The architecture and layout of the house are amazing, everything is well designed, spacious and of high quality. The house itself is in great condition, you notice that it is regularly cleaned, renovated and taken care of. It was perfect for our group, everyone had enough space and privacy and still we could easily get together in one of the two kitchens, the big terraces or the pool area. In the mornings we went to Litibu beach, which is only a 5 Minute walk away. I definitely recommend to hire a car, so you can drive to the charming surfer town Sayulita (20 minutes) or to Puerto Vallarta (45 minutes). We especially enjoyed Sayulita with its cafes, restaurants and nice little shops. However, we were always happy to come back to the quiet and not at all touristic area around the house. I will for sure come back to this beautiful and unique place, next time hopefully a little longer.

As stated in previous reviews, the pictures do not capture the beauty of Casa dos Palmas. The property provides stunning ocean views from all four decks. It is a tranquil setting away from the hustle and bustle of nearby resort towns, Punta Mita and Sayulita. Michael is a world class communicator. He provided details regarding the caretakers of the property and their respective schedules (gardener, pool service, housekeeping). He also forwarded information regarding nearby attractions and restaurants, and discussed all pre-trip details to ensure that any questions/concerns were addressed. Michael also recommended a car rental company that picked our group of 8 up at the airport and shuttled us from Puerto Vallarta to its office in Bucerias. From the rental facility in Bucerias, it was an easy 25 minute drive to the property, most of which was highway (including a new highway that was under construction the last time we visited Punta Mita in 2014). It is definitely preferable to have 4WD, as the access road to the property is mostly unpaved and a little bumpy. I actually hope they don't end up paving it, as it is probably the only reason this place isn't rented out all year. We had requested that Olivia pre-stock our kitchen with items from a grocery list that Michael provided. So glad we did that. She charged a small fee to do the shopping for us and it was worth every peso. Litibu Grill was an easy walk along the beautiful, semi-private beach. Although you must make reservations a day in advance to eat there, they allowed us to use their beach chairs and order drinks from the beach. The food and drinks were amazing, and the owner is as gracious as other reviewers have indicated. The entry into the ocean from Litibu beach is great for all ages, as it is a very gradual descent into the warm water. Cheke, Olivia and Jose are all very kind and provided excellent service during our stay. Olivia and her daughter prepared several meals, all of which were excellent. Although we had two in our party who are fluent Spanish speakers, both Cheke and Jose speak fluent English, and Cheke was always present to help Olivia (who only speaks Spanish) with meal preparation and cleanup. We enjoyed day trips to Sayulita and to the Marietas Islands. We even saw two whales! That being said, the most relaxing part of the trip was hanging out at the casa and enjoying the natural beauty that surrounds the property. We can't wait for a return visit.

Michael's property Casa dos Palmas is a rare gem in an untouched paradise. Cheke met us on arrival and gave us the grand tour of this unique property as well as a few local tips on the area. I'd recommend renting a car when staying here (look up Gecko Rentals if coming from PVR who are a great team and pick you up from the airport) even it's a short walk down to Litibu beach (which you'll more or less have to yourself) there is a lot of great exploring to be done of neighboring towns and beaches where a private car will come in handy. Back at the property, we spent most of our time either in/next to the pool or on the rooftop around the fire pit with unspoiled views of the ocean. I'd recommend Casa dos Palmas to anyone and their family who appreciates a remote getaway away from the tourist traps.

Michael has been incredibly careful from the first moment, sending us all the necessary material and supporting us with the arrival, even making us find several things already purchased upon our arrival. Your and Jose's attention has been phenomenal at all times. The house is fantastic, even better than the photos. Very large and very cozy. The pool area is very nice and functional, we were there with the children every day. To get to and from you need a car, and the road is not very comfortable but once there you are immersed in nature and if you want to relax it is just what you are looking for. I would only add a washing machine, as with long stays and with children would be more comfortable for laundry. On the other hand, you end up consuming less water and it is better for the environment. Anyway, we spent some incredible days and would highly recommend the house to those who are looking for a vacation with family or friends close to nature and away from the chaos.

Everything was great and exactly how advertised. Michael was extremely helpful in planning the trip during the weeks leading up to our stay. Jose, the on-site property manager and his wife Olivia were great and accommodating of all requests as well. Although my family did not take advantage of it, there were offers of pre-trip grocery shopping and help with arranging excursions. My wife did have an in-house massage on the sun deck with Erica of Erimar Salon and Spa that she said was the best massage of her life. It was a very restful week of pool and beach time along with a few day trips to Sayulita and San Pancho. The Baja Takeria in San Pancho is definitely worth a visit for some great fish tacos and margaritas.

Host Response

Thank you for choosing our Casa. We're thrilled that you had a well deserved, relaxing vacation. You're welcome back anytime...

My group of 5 had a great time staying at Jennifer & Michael's lovely new home for the week of Thanksgiving for a warm holiday escape from NY. Michael does the most all of the communicating & is great at it. Super polite, patient and eager to help make your stay perfect - from pre-planning through the entire trip if you desire. The house is beautiful; built by the accomplished architect patriarch of the family (Mr. Saul). Layout is perfect for the two different main levels to function separately (i.e. two families) or function fine together. The (heated) pool level is lovely, from the gorgeous view to the conveniently located bathroom with mini-fridge right directly adjacent. The indoor/outdoor living between the 2nd-floor living room/kitchen area and the fabulous large terrace is wonderful with the spectacular view and comfy lounge chairs. We had our meals served out there. The services of a chef, Olivia, are available if desired, and I would recommend it. This was our 2nd trip out to Litibu, and both times we had chefs and both times it was so worth it. And Olivia is a great cook, and so sweet & kind. As is her husband Jose who manages the house and is fluent in English and a really great guy. As are their sons Cheke and Josh who also assist here & there. Their family contributed significantly to the quality of our trip and their generosity left a lasting impression that won't be forgotten soon. The beach that the house is situated behind, Litibu, is great: it's big, always practically empty, and great to play in the waves or lie on the sand. Gorgeous at sunset! The drive to the house is most fun in an SUV (with 4x4 helping in rainy weather), but can be done in car as well - just go a little more slowly. This is not the same trip as staying at one of the luxury resorts down the road in Punta de Mita. This is much more secluded (& special!). However, fun excursions are not far away at all, with Punta Mita just a few minutes down the highway, Sayulita 20 minutes north, and Vista Paraiso's array of excursions the closest at about 5 minutes away. Do all of the above, along with Marietas Islands (can charter boats from Punta & Sayulita both, with the latter being a longer & more expensive trek). Plenty to do, although the time lounging at the house pool & beach were always our favorite - a great balance to chill out & relax after all the excursions. And you'll have the comfortability of wifi and satellite tv should you want to stay connected. It's a great stay all around. Already plotting how we can get back soon!
