3BR Cabin in El Temporal

Edgar

Excellent, 2 months ago

Excellent place to spend with family

We stayed at Lorena's house for 2 nights. It is located in the middle of a charming forest, surrounded by trees, with an incredible sunset view. Virginia, the landlady, helped us with meals and was super friendly. We went on several walks. We couldn't have asked for more.

Host Response

We were delighted to have hosted you, and thank you for your review!

It's absolutely beautiful, an excellent place to get away from the city. You should keep in mind that, since it's far away and you have to cross the mountains, you'll be about 40 minutes from Valle de Bravo, so you need to bring food and anything else you want to have there. It's worth staying for several days to enjoy the peace and quiet. The people who take care of the place are super friendly and always available to help you. The host is always on hand, so if you have any issues, she takes care of them right away.

Host Response

Thank you for your review, Hortencia! We look forward to welcoming you back here whenever you like.

The cabin and surroundings are very nice and the place has potential, but the experience was affected by several details. Privacy is limited, as the caregiver lives right next door and sometimes the space was not fully respected. Although their dogs were locked up, they could be heard constantly. The grass has thorns and my puppy hurt his legs, so we couldn't use or enjoy the outdoor area. Also, I rented the place because the listing mentioned a campfire space; when asked, the host reacted unkindly and did not acknowledge that the information could be confusing. Also, although I was clear in my requests, on several occasions I did not remember previous agreements that appear in the conversation.

Host Response

The property is located in a wooded environment; the presence of thorns and natural elements outside, in the forest, is typical of the environment and does not constitute a fault. You did not inform us in your reservation that you would be traveling with pets, and the listing clearly states that there are animals on the property. Even so, for your comfort, our pets remained sheltered. You were also authorized to leave at 5:00 p.m., when the schedule is at 1:00 p.m., at no additional charge. It was necessary to request official identification four times to authorize access, due to the lack of response. He also insisted on having a fire in the garden, even though the ejido regulations prohibit it and the house has an indoor fireplace. He also asked the cook to prepare food without providing the necessary supplies. Therefore, and in accordance with our internal guidelines, it will not be possible to accept future stays from you.

Very comfortable, the house is very clean, quiet area, lots of garden and freedom, very friendly host, a nice place for a pleasant weekend. The arrival on the dirt road is a bit complicated, I guess because of the rains, the road is complicated.

Host Response

Thank you so much for your review. As the house is located in the middle of the forest, part of the access is a stretch of dirt road. This is part of the experience of being surrounded by nature and tranquility, although we understand that it may be a detail to consider for some guests. We hope you enjoyed your stay.

We loved the place, a cottage in the middle of the forest to disconnect from everything for a few days ❤️ The whole place is very nice, the rooms are comfortable, the kitchen has the necessary utensils for what you need, there are 2 people who help you with everything you need, they light the grill if necessary and they also offer to prepare breakfast or a meal with the food you bring. The fireplace for the super cold days was super important, the place for these rainy days if it is very cold and it would be amazing to have heaters in the rooms (I understand that because of the electricity it is not possible) but it was very necessary and although we were warm and there were blankets it was not enough, we had to take the mattress to the living room to sleep in front of the fireplace which was a beautiful experience to be able to rest my husband, my baby and I, with the sound of the rain, sleeping on a mattress in front of the fireplace, it was beautiful.

Host Response

Thank you so much for your input, Daniela! We look forward to seeing you again:)

the cabin is just like the photos, very nice, it is a place to disconnect from the city, allowed us to take our 5 dogs and they loved the whole property, they were able to explore and run. the arrival is as it is through Google maps 97% of the road is paved but 350 meters which are up to the property is not recommended for carro chico, we take a very low BMW and we pass without problem but you must be very careful and patient not to damage something, preferably take a higher truck or car bring enough food because there is nothing close that you can go down to buy, you have to be prepared the caretakers are very friendly and helpful it is surrounded by forest, you really enjoy the tranquility and the sunset if the fog goes down is magical the Internet is very good and there are parts where there is a phone signal, the tv can connect Netflix without a problem, there are 2 small speakers in case you want to listen to music is appreciated.

Beautiful cabin in the middle of the woods. If you're looking for a place to stay in and spend a weekend in complete peace, surrounded by nature and its sounds. Very cozy, with very friendly and helpful hosts. With all the utensils to enjoy home-cooked meals and a delicious barbecue. Ideal for stargazing. Being so secluded from the town lights, it is very easy to enjoy the moon and the stars. A great place for mountain biking and hiking.
