5BR Villa in Puerto Escondido

Thanks to Eleonora and the Casa Orgullosa staff for all their attention. It's the most amazing place to take a few days off.

If you want a super private middle of no where location, look no further. The location is about 30mins from puerto Escondido airport on a beautiful beach in the middle of nowhere (which is amazing if that’s what you’re looking for). You'll basically have the entire beach to yourself, a large wonderful private pool and your own very cool hip villa. Make sure to confirm the amazing chef/staff. Not only is the food absolutely amazing but it's also super reasonably priced and youre far from any restaurants or grocery stores so just book the chef everyday you’ll thank me. In addition, they booked us horseback riding on the beach as well as wonderful private massages which were amazing. The only hiccups were that the power would go out periodically and the ac in the main bedroom wasn't the best due to how hot it was outside. Besides that, me my wife and our two year old had a wonderful time, you won’t be disappointed!

Leonora, congratulations on that incredible house, the architecture and the contrast with the gardening you have is out of this world. The fact that it's one foot from the beach is a gem!!!! And the cherry on top is the wonderful chefs you have, they are Michelin stars! A round of applause! I'll definitely be back!

An incredible stay! The property is beautifully designed and perfectly located right in front of a quiet, uncrowded beach, with a stunning infinity pool and the soothing sound of the ocean flowing through the house. It’s peaceful and part of the charm is that it’s a bit tucked away, with a short drive on a dirt road to get there (nothing difficult, just adds to the feeling of seclusion). Javier and Antonia were exceptional, warm, attentive, and their cooking was one of the highlights of our trip. If you stay here, we highly recommend having them as part of the experience. During our stay, the beach had a red flag, so we couldn’t swim, but the wide, open shore made for beautiful walks every afternoon. Eleanor was a fantastic host, always responsive and helpful. This is the perfect spot if you’re looking to relax in comfort and quiet, surrounded by nature and great people.

This was my second time staying at this spectacular home. The space is a dream, highly highly recommended and Eleonora is wonderful and accommodating in every way.

If you're seeking a peaceful retreat, this beachfront house is perfect. Though there are neighbors on both sides, noise was minimal during our stay. The design is stunning, with a beautiful, open layout. The bedroom's AC kept the space cool at night, ensuring restful sleep. Since you're close to nature, bring insect repellent. We stayed with our 3-year-old daughter and found the home safe and child-friendly. The pool, featuring an L-shaped bench, became our go-to spot for the week. We hired the ladies to cooks for most meals—they spoiled us with delicious food, and Google Translate helped with communication. The house is about 45 minutes from Puerto Escondido, so we made limited trips but the visits we did have we worth it. The house is situated 20 minutes off the main road down a very bumpy road so prepare yourself! We hope to be back one day as it truly is paradise!

Eleonora and all the staff attending Progullosa are the best. We really enjoyed the stay, it's a truly amazing place.

I could write a book about how perfect this place is. The design is incredible, the staff lovely, food delicious, and the house is clean. During the day we could truly unwind and unplug, wandering between the outdoor living room, the pool chairs and the beach chairs. In the evening they light candles through out the house that help keep the bugs away. But then at night the bedroom is full of the creature comforts you want- air conditioning and a nice smart TV. But then you are still able to fall asleep hearing the waves. Do know that you’re very much living with the elements at this place, it’s remote and it’s a long bumpy road to get there (get clear directions of you’re driving) and you are close to another house where you can hear their music and if they have a loud conversation (but it’s not so loud that you feel like you’re all together). I truly hope we’re able to make it back.

This accommodation is absolutely stunning, and in fact even better in real-life than on the uploaded photos. The staff is really friendly, helpful and very clean. The house is in a proper order and the staff cares a lot if anything is needed. The food they served was really fresh, healthy and delicious. The only thing we thought that it would have been nice to receive a general overview of the house when we arrived. That would have been helpful. Thank you so much for our nice stay!

We absolutely loved our stay and can’t wait to come back someday. The beach is beautiful, the rooms are stunning, and the cooking and cleaning staff were gracious and kind. The chef served us incredible meals that were fine dining quality. The kitchen was kept sparkling clean. The A/C in the Master bedroom didn’t work super well, but all the other rooms were well air conditioned. It was the perfect location for our family vacation.

We had a really amazing stay at Elenora’s place. The house, the location and the food was incredible. Irma, Guadalupe and Diana were incredible chefs and really took care of us. Juan is a master bonfire starter and super helpful. The only thing I would recommend is to get clear instructions on how to find the house if you are not using their recommended transportation. Meal planning also took a lot of back and forth on email and in hindsight explicit instructions or examples would maybe have helped especially since the responses can be slow. There were minor issues where one of the room had mildly stained covers and missing the remote for the AC which given the price I would have expected to be flawless. Regardless, the people at the house, the house itself, the private beach was amazing. We had a wonderful stay and loved our experience. Will be back.

This is my second time staying here and it was amazing. The location is secluded and peaceful, the home itself is incredible and the ocean views are breathtaking. We did choose to hire the chef, Antonia, the first time we visited and it was incredible. Unfortunately, this time it was a different team and they weren’t as hospitable nor was the food as good. Next time, I would choose to cook myself. Also, oddly, there was no internet information anywhere and it wasn’t until the second day did the staff provide us with details only after the host instructed we ask them. We noted to the host prior to our arrival that we would need internet for a work interview and she said it was working. The internet didn’t work that well in the end. If you’re not planning on needing it for anything, then you’ll be great. But even the speakers in the house wouldn’t connect, so you’re left listening to the neighbor’s music that you hear loudly for the time you’re there.

First thing you should know is that if you are looking at this property, you should stop scrolling and just BOOK IT! It’s heavenly! The end. A few details that we learned from our stay that may be helpful for other guests… this is like an Airbnb / hotel hybrid as there’s staff on the ground that provide meals (for an extra fee) and service the property. This is an amazing addition that is well well worth it. Antonia prepared the most delightful meals incl. tamales, enchiladas, tacos barbacoa, tortilla soup, fresh tortillas, fruits from her garden for snack, chilaquiles, chicken tinga, mole, etc. She also made a fresh fruit water (cucumber, coconut, hibiscus) daily. Antonia, Clemente and Juan are fantastic and delightful. The whole team only speak Spanish, so keep that in mind, but Google Translate works well for filling in any communication gaps. The house is pretty remote, so make sure you come with whatever you need. There’s no ATMs for extra pesos (we made this mistake) or shops so stop and doing your shopping back in Puerto. Wifi is present throughout the house but not great. I think it’s a satellite? So it’s impacted by the rainy nights (if you are there in rainy season like us). I was able to get onto website, social media, etc but struggled with music/book downloads and video calls. While the house is remote, you do have neighbors who are very close by. The neighboring Casas are within earshot - so depending who has booked, you will hear their music or conversations if they are shouting. We didn’t have any issues but it’s worth noting that the other houses are closer than they seem. In addition to Casa Wabi, there’s an amazing mezcalria down the road and an omakase that are worth checking out. You can also request other services like massages on the beach and horseback riding. If you are there during the rainy season, note that the mosquitos are wild and hungry. Come prepared. We brought eco lemongrass outdoor incense sticks to light and body spray - which was very effective. That’s it! Go! Enjoy :)

this space is STUNNING. highly recommend having antonia cook for you! her cooking, along with the space / views / staff, truly made this experience one of a kind. there is staff on the ground to make sure your stay is comfortable, safe and prepared (they fully prepped the house before what seemed like was going to be a storm, prepared a fire for us on the beach, arrange transportation, etc). the stars at night are amazing and extremely visible from here, so be sure to have a cocktail or a night swim and enjoy the endless / ever changing views. centrally located to activities that are available in the community: casa wabi, cobarde, kakurega, el papelillo, private beaches and 30 mins from puerto proper. be sure to make reservations for all of these and know what days they are closed. our only suggestion would be to make sure you download spanish translation on google translate as it would have been extremely hard to communicate if one of our friends didn't speak some spanish. can't wait to come back and visit!

Simply put, this place is paradise. We travel a fair amount and this was one of, if not the best, trip my family and I have ever taken. The area is beautiful, the house is magnificent, but the staff really make it top notch. I am still thinking about Antonio’s cooking, especially her charred salsa picante. Clemente, Javier and Juan were all equally fantastic and made our already wonderful stay that much better. Thanks again!

Casa Orgullosa is spectacular. We were welcomed by a staff of incredibly attentive and kind staff. Antonia was an amazing chef who made delicious oaxacan meals for us and adapted them to be vegetarian. The house is on a remote private beach with access only by the properties along it. It is quite a bumpy road to get out there so beware if you are prone to motion sickness. The WiFi was very unreliable and the TVs did not work, which is great if you want to unplug but not if you plan to work :) It was one of the most special places I’ve ever stayed and I would definitely recommend it!

Thanks Eleonora, an amazing stay and amazing host truly memorable we will be back ! Gracias xx

Casa Orgullosa is breathtaking. It was the perfect last stop on our month long journey through Mexico. The house is spectacular, so peaceful, with amazing sweeping views of the beach. We decided to hire the house chef for our stay which was the best decision of all. Antonia cooked the most delicious traditional oaxacan meals, everything we needed was provided at a very fair price. I HIGHLY recommend the meal package to anyone planning a stay here as grocery stores are in Puerto Escondido, a 30 minute drive, and once your there you will not want to leave. We look forward to coming back and staying longer. Thanks for all your help with my many questions Eleonora!
