Excellent! Superb! Magnificent! Beautiful! It was truly one of a kind experience to have this home as part of our wedding experience. Its a gorgeous home with incredible views of the city.

Thank you so much ! Calle Pedro Loza ! This place is such a dream. I celebrated my 38th birthday with my favorite people . The place is much better and bigger in person than the pictures. You won’t regret booking this place. I’m definitely coming back. The people the atmosphere and everything was amazing . The location is in the middle of everything easy to get around and walk to . Favorite bars and restaurants all nearby. Also the views on this place on your 2 rooftops are a plus. Again! You won’t regret booking this place.! I’m coming back . Thank you team<3

Fantastic place!

The place lived up to the photographs and more. The manner in which this 100+ year old colonial mansion in the historic core of Guadalajara was remodeled and restored is to be commended. To no knock on the rental, the surrounding area is hit or miss. Some graffiti and not every property there looks like the rental property, but that should not deter anyone. We felt very safe but Guadalajara is our second home so we are very comfortable with the city and its safety and we were undeterred by the optics of some of the surrounding properties and area. It is a very comfortable 8 block walk to the Cathedral and the historic core of the city. It is steps from a beautiful church (the Santuario) and there is a light rail stop in the plaza literally next door to where the house is located. We fell in love with the property. It is no home, it is a mansion and it is exceptionally roomy and comfortable with an oversize terrace where you could host a party with 100 people easily.

House has beautiful architecture and detail. More beautiful than pictures show. It's very spacious and comfortable. Would love to stay again in the future.

Host Response

Thanks for the info about the paper shortage. I’ll make sure to let Lucia know to stock up more.

This home is breathtakingly beautiful and extremely comfortable. The host has been wonderful and helpful. We have, to our pleasure, followed up on her suggestions for restaurants and extra tours and experiences. But the best part of this home is its location; just a 15 min easy walk to the heart of the historic center, next to a metro station, around the corner from a great market with the best tacos and fresh juice in the city, and too many bakeries to choose from. And in the evenings in the plaza there is dancing and music and food - we've been spoiled by the churros sold at the corner. We'll be back.

My guests and I had a great stay at the House of the Medallion. As soon as you step into the house you are immediately transformed back into time and appreciated the details of this historic colonial home. Very spacious and easily accommodated our party of 6 including a kitchen with modern amenities. The 2 terraces were an added bonus including the views from the top terrace. Extremely walkable to all the main areas to visit in El Centro of Guadalajara. The only caution is that it is located in the vicinity from a cathedral whose bells chime starting in the early morning and throughout the evening. It personally didn't bother me but I do recommend ear plugs for light sleepers. I had good communication with the host prior and during our stay. Overall we had a great stay and would consider staying here again on our next trip back to GDL.

We absolutely loved this house. It had the historic and cultural charm that we were looking for. It was also so perfect because it was less than 2 blocks away from Casa Pedro Loza where we had our wedding reception. It was also a short 10 minute walk from the Centro. The entire house was very clean and bathrooms all were updated. The terrace and patios made for great spots for my wife and I to take our “getting ready” and “first look” photos! This house will always be cemented into our memory of our incredible wedding weekend celebration in Guadalajara.

We stayed here while taking Spanish Language classes at IMAC. It was a perfect location! Our group of 7 had plenty of space for gathering AND the opportunity to have our own space when we wanted it. This place is amazing! We loved the modern amenities that enhanced the beautiful historic charm of the home. I can not recommend enough. I am already hoping to repeat this trip and would book this place again in a heartbeat. Loved it!

Fantastic villa in a great neighborhood. Super easy to walk to many parts of the city, and the Metro is just a few steps away. The house itself is amazing! We had a group of 6, and there was plenty of space to gather, and also to have alone time. The bathrooms were all nice. The kitchen is well equipped, and had everything we needed. Wifi was strong throughout the house. Host was super easy to communicate with, and we were met at the house, and given a tour and details of everything we needed. Per our request, he also stocked the kitchen for us (beer, water, food, snacks) - which made it easy to immediately settle into vacation. Only downside we had was with the hot water. It must be a small tank, because only one of us normally got a hot shower in the morning.

Host Response

I'm very sorry about the hot water situation and will definitely look into it. I'm thinking that the temperature control knobs must have been changed so there wasn't enough hot water in the tanks. Again, my apologies.

Beautiful Airbnb within walking distance to the downtown area. Lots of bathrooms although we did have issues with the plumbing and shower head which were resolved quickly. Good street vendors nearby although some noise from the neighborhood which is expected. Biggest qualm with the Airbnb was the amount of noise from the neighborhood and especially the bells that go off every 15 minutes. The first night there were two different churches with bells going off independently on their own schedule. This was very difficult the first night but was remedied with earplugs. Host was great, welcoming and helpful.

Host Response

I wanted to reply to you about the church bells from the 18th century stone church on the other side of the square. I’m glad to hear that you remedied the bells ringing at night by using earplugs and I realize that everyone has different sleep patterns. However, I also want to say that the church bells are often mentioned in reviews as one of the charming things of the neighborhood. They have never been an issue. For me, the bells have always been one of my favorite things about the house and its sounds. I pride myself in being able to tell the time by counting the chimes. And if I happen to hear them ring during the night, it comforts me, I smile to myself, and fall back to sleep.

The house is even better than the pictures! The architectural details are amazing. Jorge met us for checkin, and gave us a tour. We were attending a wedding in Zapopan, with activities every day, so didn’t get to spend much time in the house. It’s well located in the centro district, an easy walk to some great places for breakfast and lunch. The house is very clean and obviously well cared for! An amazing place to stay in Guadalajara

Melissa is a wonderful host and has one of the nicest properties I have ever stayed in. If you're planning a trip to Guadalajara and looking for something outside the bubble of the Americana neighborhood, this property is hands down the best. Melissa is friendly, helpful, responsive, and all-around a great host.

If i could give 10 stars i would. This place was beyond amazing. The colonial mini mansion feel was great! Very spacious and clean and has everything you need during your stay. The terraces are amazing for morning or sunset hours and offer great views of the city. Within walking distance are markets and great bars and restaurants. Melissa and Gorge were amazing hosts and have impeccable communication , theyre always there if you need em. I have nothing but great things to say about this place and definitely recommend for an amazing stay in GDL!

Casa de Medallón is an elegant trip back in time. Like New Orleans, much of the beauty of Guadalajara is behind the walls, inside hidden gems like this hacienda. Our host/owner Melissa always responded promptly and provided valuable feedback, information about the city and a recommendation for a wonderful tour guide service - Tours by Locals. The home is in the old El Centro section, an easy walk to the cathedral, Teatro Degollado and other prime sites. It is across the street from a subway station. Directly outside the front door is a fun snow cone store with a friendly and helpful attendant, and a rack of 10-12 electric bicycles for rent if the walking gets tiresome. Around the corner is a pastry shop and a small convenience store, and a few blocks away is a large Mercado for groceries and fresh produce. Taxis are common everywhere, and we found Uber to be our failsafe go-to. While we were enchanted by the mansion, our fondest memories of Mexico - everywhere we’ve traveled there - are of the happy, peaceful and friendly people. If we ask for information or directions, they typically react as if we’ve gifted them a coveted opportunity to help. Big smiles were common. The house is very large, and with just two of us there were times we could not hear or find each other. So it will be even more fun if you take your own crowd. The modern kitchen is spectacular with every thing you need for a small meal or a banquet on one of two rooftop decks. Great place for a wedding or a catered dinner. Two 5-gallon bottles of purified water are on dispenser cradles in the kitchen. All bathrooms are modern and perfectly clean. Nice towels, hair products and a hair dryer are provided. We had one minor water problem that could have gotten big, but it was fixed immediately so was no problem at all. Like much of this mile-high city, the home is not air conditioned, but floor fans are provided in every room and we were comfortable even in September. Afternoons were a little warm. Rain is possible from May thru September so a small collapsible umbrella was helpful. We highly recommend to you this host, her fastidious local manager and this beautiful historic mansion and city.

I have to say this home was amazing. From the very first time you lay your eyes on this beautiful home till when you close your eyes to sleep. The house had everything and more than we could’ve asked for. The home was equipped with literally almost everything you would have in yours. Down to the place mats for setting food down. Jorge is truly amazing and was in constant communication. House is perfect for cute IG photos and much more. Also the house keeper was also so sweet. She set up water by our nightstand to drink and gave us extra towels! Book ASAP

This is a beautiful house for any event, we used as the bridesmaid house for our wedding. Great location close to the centro and great use of space for any group event. Loved the outdoor area/rooftop and modern kitchen. Check in was easy and the place was clean. Absolutely beautiful outdoor spaces and attention to detail-well stocked kitchen with filtered water. We couldn't have loved it more. Looking forward to reunions here in the future.

Wow! What an experience! The house is comfortable and spacious, with enormously high ceilings, and all is beautifully well-preserved, decorated, and maintained. The hosts were immediately and positively responsive. The location is fantastic—a 5+ min walk down a pedestrian street to the cathedral and its surrounding plazas in one direction, or a few steps the other way to street food (amazing churros, tamales, elotes, buñuelos, etc) and a taxi stand. Also very handy (within a block or two): pharmacy, bakery, corner grocery store, barber/tattoo artist. We loved it, and would definitely stay here again.

Melissa's place was great and worked perfectly for our diverse group of 7 people ranging in ages from 11 to 89 years. I was familiar with Guadalajara, but the downtown location was perfect for those in our group who wanted to explore a bit on foot, but not think about transportation. The house was lovely, and a great place to just relax. We all enjoyed the various outdoor spaces where we could enjoy the beautiful weather and plants as we watched the sun go down. A minor plumbing issue was resolved quickly. I highly recommend Melissa's place which has a great location, as well as a wonderful vibe for relaxing at home. Our whole party loved it!

Melissa's property in Guadalajara is a hidden gem. I would highly suggest it to anyone wanting to stay in a comfortable, clean home in a convenient area that is walking distance to everything. The rooftop view will make your jaw drop. Melissa was very responsive to our communications and her family in Guadalajara were generous enough to meet our family member currently working in Guadalajara so he could check out the place before we booked it. You won't be disappointed if you choose to stay at Calle Pedro Loza 440.

Our stay at Melissa’s casa grande was amazing. The place is as beautiful as it is describe in the photos. Every detail of this grand estate is authentic old Mexico. The location is convenient walking distance to major Cathedrals and Plazas in the old section of Guadalajara. This is real Mexico, when you walk out the door the street is filled with vendors and children playing stick ball. Also you won't encounter throngs of American tourists in the immediate area, something which we found quite refreshing. A major daily open market is within a few blocks and there is a taxi stand on the corner just outside the house, if you wish to get off you feet. There were only 2 of us but we could have been 8 for this classic hacienda style home easily accommodates that number. We were in Guadalajara to attend a wedding and reception held two blocks down the street at Casa Pedro Loza. So this was a perfect location for us. Casa Pedro Loza’s restaurant has some of the most beautiful interiors I have ever seen. We frequently wondered down to it in the evenings for drinks and dinner with Chef Piero, who entertained us with his doting personality and rich Italian food. When we return to Guadalajara we will stay at Melissa's
