The guests left the house clean, however they broke all 4 of the 6 month old complementary boogy boards I provide, all in the exact same place, across the middle. They did not report the damage, it was discovered during the cleaning of the house the day they left. The boogie boards were all adult sized. I have been providing boogie boards for 3 years now and they do eventually deteriorate and get replaced but to have every one break in the same place at the same time during NORMAL use is unlikely. The boards actually cost me $40 each 6 months ago, (I only requested $35 each because they were gently used, i.e. not every guest uses them) times 4 now unusable boards was reasonable. (The replacement boards cost $50 each not including shipping) The guests were simply asked to pay for damages they made to the property.

My staff checked everything and one air conditioner was not working. I misunderstood my cuidor thinking he was able to get it fixed by the electrician who was there earlier in the day. Once the I was informed two air conditioners were not working, I did everything humanly possible to rectify the situation, including replacing an air conditioner, and repairing the other one. I fully refunded the night that the guests were there with no air-conditioning  ($500+) which doesn’t seem to have mattered to them and responded to over 50 messages from the guests reassuring them and explaining to them the actions taken. We did everything humanly possible to cure the problems. All together about 100 messages were exchanged in a 24 hour period. Nothing went unaddressed. All air conditioners have been replaced. I have reeducated my staff on cleaning. This is a highly unusual situation. There is a $15 allowance for power which is listed in the house info. Overages are billed separately.
