3BR Home in Todos Santos

Good, 5 months ago

Nice home with a Pacific view. Location was a bit further down the road than we thought. Road is a bit rough. The layout of the home is nice. Bedrooms separated from the living area by a nice breezeway and patio. Allows for early birds and night owls to be separated. Pool was great. Perfect temp for cooling off. Had no hot water first day, but new water heater was installed. Dryer didn't work, but washer was fine. Used rope and clips to dry laundry. I think this is a great stay for 4 adults max and then some kids. We were 6 adults and the single bathroom in the bedroom area did make things a little tricky Overall, for the price, I would consider staying again.

The house was absolutely beautiful and even better than the pictures. There were a lot of personal touches like pool toys and board games. We really enjoyed the local area which had lots to do. We had a couple of small issues with the hot water. Amy was very responsive and had someone come and fix things right away. My only note for someone booking in the future is that there is a new house being built right next door. Because we arrived on a Saturday and Monday was a holiday we weren’t too bothered by the noise. On Tuesday however, you could hear quite a bit of construction noise, and the pool area is completely overlooked. If you value privacy this is something to think about

The property was beautiful and we had a wonderful, relaxing stay. The house and landscaping were beautiful, and the house had plenty of space for 7 people. A few things about the property: 1. The kitchen is well stocked with cups, plates, silverware and basic cooking essentials like spices, oils etc. 2. The upstairs deck has a great view of the ocean. We saw whales and some stunning sunsets 3. The beach is about a 10 minute walk away. 4. The property is about 10 minutes outside of Todos Santos by car. There are a few restaurants closer as well. Plan accordingly for groceries and food etc. 4. Get an SUV if you can. The road is not paved for the last couple of miles, so more ground clearance is good. We had a sedan and managed fine though. Overall, we enjoyed the property and our stay.

Extraordinary accommodation. Very well-equipped. When we arrived, the sunbeds were ready with a towel on each sunbed. There were 8 of us and had enough space. The Accommodation is very clean, in a quiet environment. Sea view. Excellent communication with the host. See you can go there with your eyes.

Our family of 6 had an amazing stay. We have been vacationing in Todos for the last 20 years. We have done a mix of camping to off grid casa. This year we did something totally different. We enjoyed everyday there from sunrise morning yoga to evening dips in the pool. We hosted 20 for Christmas there as we had other friends and family in town and the casa was more than comfortable and made amazing memories. Our communication with the host Amy was amazing and she made any of our needs a top priority.

Host Response

We’re thrilled our home worked for you and yours in all the ways! Have a wonderful New Year and we look forward to hosting you again in the future.

The pool and the landscaping were wonderful. The outdoor areas were beautiful.  I love the overall design of the house. We did have issues which negatively effected our stay: - The main room was extremely hot. No conditioner or ceiling fan. We were unable to spend time in there between 3 - 6pm when the bugs were unbearable outside. - The stove and dishwasher need be fixed. Dishwasher didn't work. 2 of 5 burners and the oven were unusable. - The house is worse for the ware. The barstools are falling apart, several of the dining room chairs were broken, the rugs throughout the house were stained/worn, the sheets on the main bedroom bed were rust stained. - The upstairs deck was super dirty, and I had to clean it. My family and I saved all year so we could come here. We loved staying here before. It was a disappointment to pay 30% more a night, not including the much higher taxes, and to have the house be in bad condition. I would not recommend staying here again.

My wife and our teenage daughter, along with my sister-in-law and her two teenagers spent a week. It was my first stay in Mexico beyond day trips to border towns. We like to hang out on the beach, swim, (attempt to) surf, and eat good food, and we did it all. Todos Santos is small, artsy and cute with great coffee shops and ice cream parlors. The people we met in Todos, and in La Paz on a day trip there, were charming, going out of their way to help us. We speak marginal Spanish but it was not a hindrance. I recommend eating where locals do for the best prices and quality. The rental itself has a tile pool, high ceilings, and comfortable bedrooms. We saw whales constantly breaching off the coast. The kitchen was well-equipped. The living room was comfortable for reading or games, which we played every evening. At night we relaxed to the roaring surf, and the constant rumble of vehicles on the busy dirt road up the coast. The area seems to be developing fast. Great place. Fun stay.

Danielle’s home is beautiful - could see whales from the property and it’s close enough to town while still being peaceful and quiet on the outskirts. Danielle and the property manager Jane were prompt to respond to all questions & were quick to take care of a minor power issue during our stay. The kitchen is well stocked with spices and cooking oil and the provided 5 gallon purified water jugs for drinking were an added bonus. One thing to note is that the wifi is OK for most things, but it was not strong enough for video calls or multiple remote workers to use at the same time. We had a backup solution (Starlink as I’m a traveling van lifer), but I did want to mention the wifi speeds for groups that may be working remotely during their stay.

Our family of four - two adults, two teens - stayed at the Todos Santos home over Christmas. The house was the perfect size for the four of us. Awesome layout for adults and teens, as we had our separate entrances to the outside from the bedrooms. Great beautiful, deserted beach within walking distance (although not really swimmable due to rip tide and massive waves crashing on the sand). We did see a ton of whales right off the beach, though. Good surfing about five min north at La Pastora. Tons of good food nearby and fun, swimmable beaches to drive to. Loved our stay and would highly recommend the home. Only downsides were 1) one bedroom lock had no dead bolt, so had to lock from inside and outside with key, 2) pool too cold to swim in winter, and 3) no hot water last two days (owner comped our stay for those days). All in all, an awesome time and would return and stay again!

Beautiful house with a nice pool and good amenities. Location is accurate although beach is a bit far to walk. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because: (I) it only has one bathroom for all 3 bedrooms; second bathroom is through the outside patio into the house which is not very convenient. (Ii) at checkin house was not ready so we had to wait - which is totally fine for an hour or so - but at checkout we were not ready and we weren’t treated with the same flexibility. Other than that, great stay in beautiful Todos Santos!

We loved staying at Danielle’s home. It is a personal vacation home not a professional Airbnb so there were plenty of towels, sheets, soaps, etc. They even had a washer and dryer which is awesome since we are full time travelers. Location was perfect, nice and quite and safe. Perfect setting for the sunrise over the mountains then sunset in the evening. It is about 10 minute drive outside of Todos but close to a few really good restaurants like Poke Loco. Internet was good enough to stream Netflix with minimal droppage. Showers have great water pressure, and plenty of hot water. Drinking water was provided and also an additional bottle to get filled at Oxxo. Pool was nice, especially on a warn day when the wind was low. The pool guys and gardener showed up a couple times a week but both were super polite and where only there perhaps 15 minutes. Highly recommended stay!

A lovely area and home down a little bumpy dirt road. A true escape. It feels so warm and homey. It is a well-lived in space with many comforts of home. Books and games for the kids and a lot of personal touches. Watching the whales from the lounge chairs by the pool was truly amazing and even better from the beach a 5-10 minute walk away, depending who you’re walking with. Cerritos is the swimming beach especially if you’re with small kids. We loved every minute.

This house was an absolute gem and Danielle and her airbnb partner were great to work with, super flexible.

Great location on the outskirts of town and away from tourists to relax and enjoy the sea breeze. Downside you have to take uneven dirt roads to get to the house. AC unit in one of the rooms did not function. Home keys were not provided as they were “misplaced”. We had to improvise and lock our personal belongings in the restroom every time we left the home even though we were given assurance nothing would happen to our stuff. I figured out how to lock and unlock the restroom door.

Host Response

Hi Peter: I'm pleased you enjoyed the location. The AC unit has been replaced. The keys has been misplaced so sorry. However, they've been found and several sets cut to avoid this happening again. I hope you return. Regards, Jane

This house is really super nice. The setting and the experience was great, the design of the house is really great for indoor-outdoor experience and a super social setting. If I had a one comment it would just be that the mattresses seem a bit old and they’re either too hard or too soft to sleep on, and the pool is not heated so in April we were a bit cold to get in...Other than that it’s a truly great house, super well equipped and Jane had our back for any questions we had. Thank you Danielle and Jane for sharing this beautiful house!

What an amazing place to stay! It's a beautiful, modern home with bedrooms that are separate, but close to the main living area -- something that's particularly nice for families with small, sleepy kids. The grounds are well-manicured; the pool is inviting on hot afternoons; and the kitchen is stocked with just about everything you might need. It's about a 10-minute car ride outside of Todos Santos: close enough for convenience, but remote enough to enjoy the solitude. We'd love to come back again.

Beautiful location, beautiful house, needs a little work on the inside to make it worth the cost. If some issues are addressed, would definitely recommend this house and it's location.

My family and I (kids 9,11) vacationed here over Christmas break and absolutely loved our stay! The location was great- about 10 minutes outside of Todos Santos. The house is comfortable with a unique layout and nice pool (just remember its not heated, so the water is cold!). The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to cook- if you care to do so on vacation and the beds were comfortable. We were met by JD and Mindy when we got into town (the local hosts). They were warm and welcoming- giving suggestions on places to eat and local companies to use to go snorkeling and fishing. They were also readily available if we had any issues or additional questions. Overall I would highly recommend staying here- we loved it and plan on coming back next year!

This place is an absolute desert paradise. Some things to be aware of (which I found lovely, but may not be for everyone): the house is an outside concept house, which is not uncommon in the Todos Santos area. This means the living room and kitchen are in one building which lead out to a courtyard/pool area. The bedrooms are separate from the living room/kitchen area and all lead off the courtyard/pool area, with each having their own separate entrance. The master bedroom has air conditioning and an attached bathroom. I had my two small kids with me (3 and 5), and I still felt very safe with this set up as there was a very secure wooden gate that you could put into place to block off the bedrooms/bathroom from the pool area at night once everyone was in bed. An absolutely gorgeous place!

If you can rent this amazing, beautiful home, do it. To my small family, it was the PERFECT blend of modern comfort and rustic (but convenient), location. The house is really well-designed for chilling out. The main structure has a modern kitchen, bathroom and generous living area, with big glass windows and screen doors. The smaller, separate (but connected) structure holds the 3 bedrooms. A great little observation deck above the bedrooms offers fantastic views of the nearby beach. With the red bougainvillea flowers climbing the walls and the pool, the whole thing feels like a small dream house you'd find in Malibu. Speaking of the pool -- perfect size, perfect depth (about 5 feet), clean as a whistle, great for hanging out in. And the lush landscaping around the house and the pool gave us the sense that we had almost total privacy, even though we were among other homes. The 3 bedrooms were comfortable (included air conditioning) and could easily sleep two couples and their kids. SO relaxing. Then, the location: to us, perfect. The house is situated conveniently on a road that leads directly into Todos Santos... but has almost zero traffic. Takes about 7 minutes to drive to the center of the town. The last 500 yards from town to the house is a dirt road, so I'd definitely recommend renting a small SUV, though a regular sedan would be OK. On the way from (or to) town, you drive past GREAT organic fruit and food stands (we made guacamole from the fresh tomatoes, avocados and cilantro there). Also on that road, there are a couple of good basic markets (cereal, milk, juice, etc.); and a really nice breakfast/lunch place tucked into a leafy courtyard, called La Esquina, frequented by locals and tourists alike. I could go on, but if you want a combination of a lovely arts-heavy town and a quiet, private home with a gorgeous pool, only a few minutes' walk from a spectacular beach, you could not do better.

It is truly a special place to share and something that cannot be duplicated at a hotel and resort. My family and I loved the set up and the setting. We could not have asked for a better experience. We used the patio, pool, kitchen, Captain’s nest every day and just relaxed. Skimming the pool with all the flower petals was relaxing even tho someone came everyday to clean the pool. You are close to the turtle sanctuary where we were able to release newly hatched sea turtles. The only one word of caution is that you need a good SUV or tough vehicle because the road to the house is quite bumpy. Didn’t bother us tho. Highly recommend this location for your family

Love love love love it!!! Oh yeah did I say we loved it! It's all the good things. My family and I couldn't have been happier. We had 4 adults & 4 kids. It was a simple yet beautiful with lots of authentic charm and great view. When we arrived our local host Aaron, had everything opened up and set up beautifully with lots of great recommendations for food and markets to get fresh meats from in town. All the accommodations in the home were excellent. Clean, comfortable & everything we needed plus some. We have stayed in Todos a few times and by far this has been our favorite. Do pass on other rentals but DO NOT pass up an opportunity to stay at this Baja Dream House. See you very soon Todos Santos ! 🏡❤️🍹🌊🌴☀️🌵 Thank you for sharing your home! Ps the pool is heated!! Sooo Dope!

This was our first time to Todos Santos and Danielle's house was a perfect stay. The quiet rural setting is relaxing but town is only a short 10 minute drive. The "Endless Beach" was a sort walk down several paths but the waves could be seen and heard from the house. The house was clean, modern, and nicely appointed. The pool was heavenly after a dusty day of sight seeing. Friendly neighbors and cute community dogs made us feel at home!

We were greeted in town at Hotel California. Which was perfect as I had become quite fond of the Tamarindo margarita :).I would definitely recommend getting a 4wd vehicle (as suggested by the host). As the roads into Las Tunas are undeveloped and we went after a long week of rain. I would also recommend bringing LOTS of mosquito repellent. Lord, did we get chewed up! No ones fault and not a deterrent. Overall we had a nice time there. The listing is as described. The home is beautiful and quiet and pool was clean. There is no AC in the main room and it gets VERY warm in the main room. The two "master bedrooms" share a bathroom not a big deal but you do have to go outside to get from the bedrooms to main room. Getting to the markets was fairly easy and the kitchen is well equipped to cook meals in. There is a laundry room. I would book this house again. The view is incredible and loved the neighborhood.

Aaron, the property manager, gave us a very warm welcome and plenty of informations about Todos Santos and things to do. The house is a real dream and only a few steps from the ocean. It's worth going to the endless white beach. If you want to relax it's the perfect spot. Todos Santos is a cute little village with very friendly people. Aaron, the property manager, welcomed us warmly and gave us a lot of information about Todos Santos and activities in the area. The house is not called "Baja Drama House" for nothing... The ocean is a few steps away and a visit to the endless white sandy beach is definitely worth seeing. This is the best place to unwind. Todos Santos is a pretty town with very nice, helpful residents. Spanish skills are a great advantage, as almost no one speaks English.

It is such a beautiful spot! Prefect for our group of 5 adults. We enjoyed the pool daily, watched sunsets from the upper deck and had an overall lovely time. The layout is perfect for a group - with the main house separate from the sleeping quarters it allows for different schedules. The location is great! You can see and hear the ocean and walk to the beach. Town is a short 10 minute drive. This place is just right for relaxing!

This house is beautiful. The area is so relaxing and romantic. The sunsets from here are incredible :) I am going to miss this house a lot!

We love Todos Los Santos. So we could not believe our luck when we saw "Todos Las Familias" on AirBnB. Often homes are not as beautiful as advertised, but this one was every bit as lovely as the photos. Our grandson was unnerved by the fact that each bedroom opens on to a passage that is open to the courtyard, but the adults felt safe, and we just told him to lock his door. The local manager was always available, the wifi worked perfectly. It's a good ten minutes to the beach, and the dropoff is steep and the rip tides serious, but for starting the day off with a walk to and along the beach was great, and the crashing of the surf at night was soothing. All in all, definitely one of airBnB's best listings.

still dreaming about this vacation home! the house was beautiful and suited our needs perfectly. the kitchen was very well stocked with all the utensils and equipment we needed to make all of our meals and cocktails. the pool was perfect and very clean. it really saved us from the blazing heat. the ocean was too rough to swim in but nice to walk along. plenty of board games, books, and dvd's to keep you entertained if staying in. note that the roads to the house are still unpaved. our little compact rental car held up fine, but we realized why everyone in Todos drives a truck/SUV. all in all - best vacation house ever. will definitely be back!

This was a dream home, really. It was so much more than I was expecting. I already love the Baja landscape of desert meeting ocean, but compound it with waking up in a beautiful house, silence all around, walking barefoot from your bed across a patio to the kitchen to make coffee, then putting your feet up by the pool...it felt like a fantasy. My favorite part of the house is the separation of living space from sleeping space. I went with 3 other friends who all had diffent agendas, so this really worked for the late nighers/early risers. The kitchen is fully equipped, which was great to cook up the unexpected 15 pounds of dorado we caught on our whale watching excursion! the beach is only a 3 minute walk, and it's completely pristine and empty. I've never experienced anything like it. Todos Los Santos is a 5-10 minute drive, and while initially it feels far, I'm so glad we didn't stay in town. it's a very pretty town, with lots of good food, and worth checking out. However, we were all very happy just vacationing at the house, making it our "home" which I don't think we would have felt if we'd been at a hotel. Highly highly recommended.
