2BR Villa in Tamarindo

Excellent, 3 weeks ago

This was an amazing airbnb! It's up in the foothills, so it was somewhat difficult to find, but it was all worth it when we opened the door and saw the view from the infinity pool. You can see the surrounding country side and the pacific ocean all from the lounging area and pool. We had monkeys, racoons, cute little skunks, birds of all kinds that we enjoyed watching and taking pictures of. This place was a 10 out of 10 and we plan to stay again next year. Great job Pastora!

The house is as described in the listing. The pool is clean, and the house is kept clean. Recognizing we are in an open air house, bugs were always around. I would recommend some way to keep the ants out of the kitchen, as well as a metal cage for trash near the driveway versus pickup in the morning during cleaning. We hired a great cook service to do breakfast and dinner, and the kitchen was very usable for them to cook for our family of 6. @cocoroots2026 was fantastic private cooking. The driveway is incredibly steep, and very difficult to navigate the first time. I feel like they could’ve done a better job explaining this. You must have a high, 4WD car. Do not attempt staying here without anything less. Please note, the host will NOT help you if your car gets stuck on the driveway. They thought we were unable to speak Spanish and said “we’re not a taxi”. They were responsive to our needs and brought additional amenities as requested.

I can describe our stay in Cimantella with a single word... it was a "dream." Everything was much more than I expected. The house itself is indescribable. Not even the photos can describe it. You have to experience it and feel it. The cleanliness is unbeatable. Everything is impeccable: bathrooms, kitchen, bedrooms. There wasn't even a leaf in the pool. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. There's everything in the kitchen. You feel right at home. I recommend the house 100%.

This home is truly unbelievable. The view you get is both of the jungle and the beach. You get the feeling that you’re in a tree house.. but make it luxury. The host was super helpful in helping us get to the home and offered to clean every day (which we accepted). We came home to a clean place, made beds, and fresh towels every day. We had a couple of inconveniences that were addressed by the host so promptly that it didn’t affect our stay at all. I definitely recommend staying here!

This was probably the most unique Airbnb that we have ever stayed in. The area around the home was beautiful and there were views for miles. Every day we left the house for something and while we were gone, the beds were made, and the towels were changed, which was wonderful. The howler monkeys came through daily while we were there. It was near to see them up close as they passed through. I would rebook this in a heartbeat and will treasure our memories here!

This place felt like a hidden paradise. The serene views—jungle meeting ocean—were magical, and the peaceful seclusion made it hard to leave the villa. We were greeted with tropical fruits, which was such a warm touch. The infinity pool was gorgeous, and seeing monkeys, birds, and squirrels was pure magic. While the A/C worked great, definitely bring bug spray—those little flying ants love the evening! The property is secure, with hosts on-site and quick to help—they were proactive when the pool lights weren’t working well. The climb up is steep, but worth it for the privacy. Just note, you’ll need to drive out for nicer beaches, as the immediate area isn’t that charming. But once you settle in, you’ll want to stay. We’d come back in a heartbeat!

We loved our stay! Very tropical and Costa Rican. The entire home is open air but the bedrooms are enclosed with A/C and fans. Generously sized rooms, set up was beautiful. The driveway felt a little treacherous the first time but the kids all loved the bumpy ride each time we went up and down. It was a perfect space to swim, reconnect, relax, and spot some monkeys! Oh! The host emptied our trash daily which was SO helpful. We enjoyed a fair bit of local fruit and I’m sure the bugs would have been awful without that bonus service.

We stayed for a week at Pastora’s Villa and it was honestly one of the best, if not the best experience. If it matters, I travel quite a bit and have been to Tamarindo 3 times so far. What stole the show was the 240 degree view of the ocean and mountains from the endless pool. We saw monkeys, iguanas and deer paying us a visit. Pastora made sure to keep the place clean and even did our laundry without us asking, which was a pleasant surprise! The last 30 yards of the drive up is not the easiest but you get a hang of it pretty quickly, it is asphalted. Thank you very much Pastora and everyone else for making this experience possible!
