Just got back from having and amazing birthday at john beautiful pura vida villa. We were greet it with some margaritas and guacamole and chips by Roberto who is the property manager and one hell of a nice and helpful guy. We stood at his place for 6 nights enjoying some of the most beautiful sunsets i have ever seen. I would recommend john villa to anyone who would like celebrate any type of occasions or just to kick back and relax . THANK YOU JOHN , we will be back soon.

This place was incredible, the view alone was spectacular and the private pool was perfect, The host was communicative and the manager Roberto went above and beyond with setting up everything and making sure our stay was perfect. We had such a great time we ended up staying an extra night. Highly recommend!!

Beautiful and clean space, exactly as described. Amazing views, very responsive host, knows how to make your vacation feel special from beginning to end. Hill is definitely steep, but that's typical in PV if you want the views. I'd recommend, and would definitely stay there again!

Awesome location, communication, and just what we were looking for.

John was spectacular and so was the house, just beautiful. John’s efforts to communicate prior to and during our stay were 5🌟. Not least his property manager Roberto who could not have been more professional and courteous. Day 1 of our stay was when the cartel set fire to vehicles in PV. John and Roberto made sure we were ok and had sufficient supplies and groceries until everything reopened. Could go on and on but really was just a wonderful stay, the house is beautiful and super awesome views of the bay and PV from the pool. 5🌟 experience all round

We had a great time staying at the Villa and couldn’t have asked for a better host. John is easily the best host I’ve ever worked with and sets an extremely high bar. The breathtaking views and private pool were our highlight and having three bedrooms all with private bath made it perfect for three couples.

What an absolutely delightful stay in PV. The villa was beautiful and the negative edge pool overlooking the ocean and the city was a favorite spot for relaxing. We arrived to welcome drinks and guacamole and a fridge stocked with our requests. There were plenty of paper goods and bathroom supplies ready for us and we had a lot of space - we just were two couples so we had an extra open bedroom. John was very communicative and helpful, as was Roberto, the caretaker. We enjoyed walking into town, although recommend a ride back as it is uphill, especially the crazy driveway- a very good workout if you want one, but requires good knees and some cardio :) Some cars did have trouble driving up the driveway as 4 wheel drive is needed! We walked a lot and relaxed a lot as well. We loved the balance of peaceful escape and city. We took advantage of the private chef that was recommended one day and sampled local restaurants as well. Really wonderful escape - a gem of a property in PV.

We just finished an amazing stay for my birthday celebration at the beautiful Pura Vida villa. The place is absolutely stunning, the views are unbeatable, spacious, clean and the location was perfect for us - close to the action but a peaceful atmosphere and private pool to come home to after the beach. Roberto the house manager provided a lovely and warm welcome with maragaritas and homemade guacamole upon arrival. These special touches and great communication throughout the week are what make this AirBnb truly stand out - and I know as an AirBnb host myself I know much effort is required! This was my first time to PV and I hope to return to Pura Vida!

This is amazing, it exceeds expectations and is a peaceful and beautiful place and the view of the ocean it worth it by itself. Host and co host were very friendly and responsive and what else can I say about the place that is not shown in the pictures. I would definitely come back and recommend this place

This place was an absolute gem! Gorgeous, spacious, breathtaking views, amazing pool, responsive host, great location! We had no issues having Ubers pick us up at the top of the hill. This place was incredible and made our stay in PV that much more memorable. The Villa looked and felt exactly as described and pictured. A must stay!

I remember reading the other reviews before booking John’s place & everyone said the same thing: John’s place was one of the best Airbnb experiences they’ve ever had. I have traveled extensively & stayed in some beautiful places, but I 💯 agree with the other guests. This is hands-down, one of the most amazing Airbnb‘s EVER! The physical beauty of John’s home and the views from his back patio are incredible. The master offers the same breathtaking views, along with a huge rain shower. The other guest rooms are spacious, and the beds are extremely comfortable! Roberto, the house manager, is the sweetest and will bend over backwards to ensure your every need is met. Guests receive this 5-star treatment from John and everyone who sets foot in the home. Chef Octavio and his staff cooked some of the most amazing meals I’ve ever had and Fortino is an amazing masseuse! LOOK NO FURTHER! This will be one of the best decisions you’ve made! John's condo was more beautiful than the pictures portrayed. The space was very large and was extremely comfortable. Very easy to accommodate 3 couples. We spent about 40% of our time at the condo as it was just such a beautiful place. We will definitely book this venue again.

What a fantastic place! The view from the pool is spectacular. John and Roberto were there to insure we had everything we need. The house was immaculate and layout was amazing. Now I know why they have so many five stars!! Can’t wait to come back, thank you guys!

This was my first Airbnb stay, and it was amazing. Check in was great, one guest arrived earlier than expected so we were so grateful to get early. Since before our arrival communication was excellent, entire stay was great. I was not expecting to have everything we needed and more. Rooms were spacious , master had an amazing view, my son loved his “David” room. Everything was clean upon arrival. Amazing views especially during sunset, it was just what I was looking for. The villa was Easy to clean ourselves no biggie . We stayed about 2 weeks, wasn’t planning on it but the whole trip was great and the villa was so nice we ended up extending it! Loved that it had washer, dryer, everything to cook, grill out and make drinks! John and Roberto were amazing! 100% Recommend this villa. We celebrated 2 birthdays, they organized the cake and balloon order and delivery which I loved! Also Restaurants and downtown were really close. About 10-15 min at most! We had so much fun loved our stay!

We had a long stay and a perfect time at John’s place. It was exactly what we wanted with a beautiful view, private pool, and proximity to Zona Romantica. John was extremely responsive and flexible from booking to check out and essentially provided a concierge service for us. He also had recommendations for restaurants, things to do, and transportation, and we really appreciated all his help. The villa is very clean and very spacious. There were plenty of amenities to keep us comfortable, and we loved the welcome from the house manager with margaritas and guacamole. The air conditioning works very well. The pool is larger than it looks in the photos, has a great panoramic view of the bay, and faces the sunset directly. Conchas Chinas, Los Muertos, and Zona Romantica are all walkable - the driveway is steep but we made it down and up with no issues. Uber is about 35 pesos to Zona Romantica and they will come up to the top of the hill. 100% recommend and will rebook next time.

I visited John’s home with my husband and another couple. We had the best weekend relaxing by the pool. The villa was spotless and spacious. John and Roberto, the house manager, were super responsive and had so many helpful tips. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again with family and friends!

My group and I had a wonderful time at Villa Pura Vida. The villa was beautiful, clean, spacious, and had an amazing view. The beds were very comfortable and each bedroom had a big bathroom, which was nice. The location was great and the walk to Zona Romantica took about 15 minutes. Note: the drive up the steep driveway can be a fun adventure. John was very accommodating, communicative, and responsive. He proactively would reach out to make sure we had everything we needed. Roberto, the villa manager, was very polite and provided a couple complimentary grocery runs for us…we only paid for the groceries. Upon arrival, Roberto welcomed us with some tasty margaritas and showed us around the villa. He was also readily available and occasionally checked in to make sure everything was good. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay and would definitely come back to Villa Pura Vida the next time we are PV.

Perfect experience! The space was modern and it was great having a pool. AC worked well and was quiet. First time for us in Pvr and will definitely be back. Jordy and John were very responsive.

John is a great host who was very proactive and detailed in his communication which made for a smooth and easy stay. The space is lovely and worked well for our group of 6. The private pool and views are great! The walk to the beach, restaurants, and bars is very convenient, the drive way is very steep as noted. The house manager, Jordy, was friendly and helpful and cooked a delicious breakfast! We would certainly go back to Pura Vida!

Start at the beginning. The most responsive host in all of my dozens and dozens of rentals, even before arriving to Mexico. The place isn’t hard to find but uber/taxi drivers can’t seem to find it easily. So pay attention because you might need to point out where the to enter. The place is walkable to downtown, sorta. 30 minutes walk downhill to the more main areas. It is really not walkable uphill. Taxi was $5-6. The house is gorgeous, pool is perfect, and just amazing. The “butler/house mgr” was awesome. Groceries waiting, got anything more we asked. Even cooked decent breakfast for us. In fact, in search of late night food delivery, Jordy ordered it for us, made it so easy, and simply added the cost to the closing bill. Honestly, I almost don’t want to share such a perfect review because I want to come back and this place is always booked. Thanks John and Jordy.

The villa was everything we hoped for and more! The highlight was definitely the private pool—it was the perfect spot to relax while taking in the breathtaking views of the ocean and city. Our stay at the villa in Puerto Vallarta was exceptional. From our first communication with John, the host, to check-out, everything was seamless. I highly recommend following John’s advice on airport transportation—it made things so easy. Jordy, the house manager, greeted us with homemade guacamole, a thoughtful touch that made us feel at home. The master bedroom offered stunning ocean views, and we loved opening the doors to the fresh sea breeze. The pool may not be large, but it's perfect for enjoying the incredible sunset vistas. The kitchen and outdoor bar had all the amenities we needed, including filtered water and ice, spices, and a full range of appliances. We even had access to a laundry room with detergent and dryer sheets for clothes and beach towels. Despite a flight delay, our time at the villa was the perfect getaway to relax and enjoy each other's company. We can’t wait to return in the future!

This home is amazing! The view, and pool, and the living areas are just as beautiful in person. My husband and I stayed for a week with our three adult children and had an absolute blast. The host has someone onsite at arrival and checkout to make everything convenient. Additionally, they did some grocery shopping for us so when we arrived the house was ready and the refrigerator was stocked. The whole experience was luxurious and fun.

Villa Pura Vida is stunning. We had such an amazing stay and often found it hard to leave the house because the pool and view were just perfect. The driveway is steep but we walked up and down a few times and the drivers had no problems. We’d love to stay again.

This villa is perfect for a group of anywhere between 2-6 people. The rooms are spacious, bed and pillows super comfortable. The views are stunning and the area is secure, safe and private. ACs were great to keep cool. Host is super helpful and responsive and the house manager is also very helpful and friendly and there for whatever you need including cooking and grocery shopping. Everything is super close by. The villa does have a steep hill that some Ubers/taxi may be unable to get up (when raining). That’s probably the only problem but we got plenty of rides and it wasn’t bad walking if the rain preventing the cars from going up. Would def stay again!

We can't say enough good things about this location with a stunning view, spacious interior, and comfortable rooms. However, what truly sets it apart as a wonderful place to stay is John (the host) and Jordy (the concierge). We stayed as a family for my father's 70th birthday. I wanted to make this a special trip and the host truly went out of his way to help us plan dinner, entertainment, and everything down to groceries! They were friendly, helpful, and so responsive. Jordi also cooked for us each morning and kept the place spotless. Everything was very reasonably priced. Note: We went in the last week of July. It's a shoulder season so the humidity and heat were tough to handle. The pool was an absolute lifesaver and the pictures don't do it justice! It's gorgeous :D

This Airbnb was everything we were looking for. Super clean with great quality kitchen supplies and soft towels and pool was exactly as described. John was extremely helpful and attentive to all of our needs and kept checking in. Jordy was also amazing. He made us delicious breakfast every morning and always was there to help us when we needed. Jordy greeted us with chips and guac upon arrival which was much needed after a long day of traveling. 10000% recommend booking with John and Jordy! Will definitely be booking again if I visit!

What a GEM! This place is absolutely stunning and although it’s in such a convenient location (very close to Zona Romántica!) it feels very private. The pool and patio was amazing for happy hours and relaxing after a day in the heat! The villa manager Jordy was super helpful and did a couple shopping trips for us and the kitchen was nicely appointed for us to cook. Can’t recommend this place enough. John was incredibly responsive and helped answer all of our questions. This place was perfect for a group. Thank you John and Jordy!!

Private and relaxing home with a stunning view! Our family had a blast! So many beaches nearby. Definitely worth it

Incredible stay! Views are spectacular and jumping in the private infinite pool and having a drink from the patio bar after a hot day exploring the region was always refreshing. The location is on the edge of town, looking out over the entire city. Just a few minutes drive to all the bars and restaurants. The property manager Jordy’s daily Mexican breakfasts were perfect and check in and out was a breeze (only issue was initially finding the place. Address is not correct in Google Maps. And the pictures provided in the welcome kit didn’t really help. But after driving past a few times, we finally found it). Also, the extremely steep driveway up to the villa is pretty precarious (necessary to get those views) but we had a rental 4x4 SUV that got us up and down no problem. Finally, must mention the value. Our party would’ve required three hotel rooms, which would’ve cost about the same as the price to stay here, but with none of the perks, and certainly not the private pool and view!

This was our first trip to PV and the stay could not have been any better. From being greeted with fresh guac and margaritas, to our daily host that not only made sure we had groceries when we arrived but also cooked breakfast for us and provided turn down service, this place was absolutely incredible. The actual home itself was better than the pictures. Tons of space, gorgeous interior and exterior, beautiful furnishings, and some of the best ocean views you can imagine from almost every window. I fully recommend if you take a trip to Puerto Vallarta you give this place a shot. It's also a 10 minute walk to the romantic zone which is where all the good beaches, bars, and restaurants are. Thank you to John and Jordy for everything. We will absolutely be back!

The place is fantastic with spectacular views that are unbeatable. The pool is divine and the place is extra spacious and roomy. The terrace is perfect for sun bathing and hanging out, grilling etc. John is an excellent host and he’s got a great house manager who assists with anything you need. Both are incredibly responsive and attentive. Highly recommend, and we’ll be staying here again for sure.

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Pura Vida. John was extremely helpful, responsive and friendly during the entire process, from planning transportation and meals in-house, to making dinner reservations for us at local restaurants. The house manager, Jordy, was there upon our arrival with welcome margaritas and then prepared a delicious traditional mexican dinner while we got right into our vacation mode without having to leave the house or think about cooking. He was available throughout our stay for picking up groceries and preparing breakfast, and made it very easy and comfortable to reach out to him for his help. We spent most of our time relaxing on the patio and in the pool, taking in the gorgeous view. The home is very private feeling, even though there are other units above and below. We travel often with other couples, and one of the things I liked most about John's place is that all 3 bedrooms have King beds and en suite bathrooms. We will be back!

The condo is perched up on a mountain above Puerto Vallarta. The more than 180 degree views are spectacular, you overlook the bay, beaches and Zona Romantica. There is a steep driveway to reach the property, you can walk it if your fit, it's more than worth the work for the views and privacy that you'll experience on the terrace. The outside area gets a nice mix of sun and shade (there is a nice big adjustable shade umbrella and a thatched palapa over the open tiki bar. The unit is very spacious and you pretty much have windows on two sides. The kitchen is well equipped and the ice maker was able to keep up with our demands for cold beverages. The beds were very comfortable, only one bedroom directly faces the ocean but we didn't spend much time in our rooms. The individual air-conditioning units were able to cool down the unit quickly when needed (we didn't use them much in the main area as we got a nice sea breeze). The heated pool was very nice to relax in and enjoy the view.

What an amazing experience. From the start John was an amazing host. The communication was top notch and I felt like we were fully prepared when we arrived. He provided recommendations for transportation and other activities that made the trip even more special. As for the home, the pictures do not do it justice. It feels even more luxurious than the pictures show. The home was spotless and the view and location was perfect. Beds were comfortable and we were able to have a great nights sleep. Jordy, the Villa Manager, was great. We provided a grocery list before we arrived and upon arrival everything on the list was stocked. We were able to follow our normal routines without having to spend the first day grocery shopping. He was responsive to our needs throughout our stay. All in all it was one of the best stays we have ever had. Worth every penny. Thanks John.

This place was STUNNING. It was perfect for our stay. We loved the space but the outdoor patio/pool set up was the real star. New years fireworks from the patio were amazing. Views for days. John was such a responsive host too! Made sure we had everything we needed. Thanks again for the great stay!

We absolutely loved staying at John’s villa and would definitely return. We were a group of 5, and there was more than enough space. The views are incredible/unbeatable - cocktail hours on the terrace were a must. Walkable to the beaches / into town, and taxis/ubers are easy to find if you want a quicker trip in either direction. Jordy, the house manager, was super-helpful. John is a wonderful host and clear communicator, with a very helpful guide to things to do / places to eat in PV (thank you, John!)

Pura Vida is an absolutely gorgeous villa/condo and to see that wonderful view every morning was the most invigorating and uplifting start to the day. We spent a week enjoying the attractions of Puerto Vallerta for the first time and it was great to come back to the comforts of Pura Vida - especially the fantastic pool - and to watch the sunset over the bay, then later the fireworks when the sun went down. The condo is close to town, but still removed enough to feel like you're in your own world. Jordy was a great help during our visit too, and any issues were quickly addressed, either in person by Jordy, or with John, who was a very responsive host.

I had an amazing stay at this villa! The host was incredibly responsive, and the personal manager went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The daily breakfasts were a luxurious touch, and the infinity pool with a Cliff side view of the Pacific Ocean was simply breathtaking. The mansion itself was love at first sight. Uber access made exploring nearby places a breeze. Overall, a fantastic experience!

We have stayed in countless villas in PV over the last 15 years and John’s has to be in my top 3 ever. The view alone is worth it. And some of the pictures do not give this place justice. Better in person The house is well maintained and thoughtfully put together. Jordy, the house manager also deserves 5 stars just for him. He went out of his way many times to help us and get anything that we needed. Take advantage of the pre grocery shopping as well as chef recommendations from John. All were great. Thanks again and we will definitely be booking again next year

Johns place was an excellent retreat for our family. Very secluded private neighborhood, always felt safe and relaxed. The pool and spa were amazing, with fantastic views. John was an excellent host, and Jordy (our personal assistant) was always there to help with whatever we needed. We would definitely stay again.

We’ve been to PVR numerous times and this is the best location for a small group with an amazing view, modern amenities, and private pool. In the hills of the ZR (Amapas-Conchas Chinas, IYKYK) it's just a short 10 minute walk and even shorter drive to anything you want to do. This experience was truly about comfort and luxury and our needs were consistently met. John was always communicative and attentive—we even had a small problem with the AC and his team made sure it was taken care of ASAP. Speaking of his team - Jordy, the house manager is incredible! He stopped by every morning to check on us, make delicious breakfasts, and drop off groceries. He gave us great recommendations for a chef, tequila tasting, and local transport that I highly recommend you follow! thanks, Jordy! We’re looking forward to our next stay!

Johns place is simply gorgeous!! 6 of us stayed here for my birthday and we felt beyond at home. The place is so spacious with an open kitchen and living /dining area. The house manager Jordy cooked a nice birthday dinner at home for us and even set up little decorations. There are 3 different people you can contact (John, Jordy, or the concierge) if there is an issue or you have any questions/recommendations for things to do. The infinity pool was amazing and we swam in it just about everyday! Another thing we loved is the place is walking distance into the downtown zona romantica. Of course the driveway is very uphill for the views you get. It is definitely doable but if you prefer to drive Ubers came within minutes and there is a taxi service John will provide you that is familiar with place. Overall such great memories and I recommend to anyone looking to have a getaway or celebration to remember :)

Just spent five wonderful days in this villa in the mountains overlooking Puerto Vallarta and it was an unforgettable experience. The infinity pool is a knockout attraction and I could have happily spent every day relaxing in the villa. Lots to do in PV though and the villa is in an excellent not far from the fantastic bar and restaurant scene in Zona Romantica. John and the team were extremely attentive and we felt like we were right at home from the start. I hope I can revisit in the future!

This is a great villa. It offers spectacular views, a genuine sense of privacy, and a large private pool. John was an extremely responsive and helpful host during our stay. While the steep hillside makes it hard to simply walk down to the bustle of the Zona Romántica, the bars and restaurants are a very short Uber/cab drive away. Moreover, one does feel like the king of the world when observing the city from the fantastic swimming pool!

We were looking for a special place to experience our first stay in Puerto Vallarta and this Villa did not disappoint. The views of the ocean are unmatched and the daylife and nightlife of Puerto Vallarta are as good as expected. We appreciated John’s attentiveness to any needs throughout our stay. Villa Pura Vida exceeded our expectation on every level. The elegance of the Villa beamed. Breath taking ocean views and beautiful décor throughout. The Villa is not only beautiful, it is practical and everything made sense. In the kitchen we were greeted with a few “essentials” in the fridge, a nice bottle of red with a handwritten thank you note. Our host stayed connected with us. The concierge service spoke English and was very helpful. I could go on and on about the fluffy towels and comfortable beds and all little details throughout the Villa, but I don’t want to take away from your experience here. We wanted for nothing; it was all there. I have found the space I have been seeking for our marriage commitment ceremony. The sun sets behind the Palapa on the deck it is a truly beautiful space. The infinity pool was clean and warm. Maybe next time we will leave the Villa or maybe not. Thank you, John, for allowing us to enjoy your beautiful space. See you again very soon!
