3BR Villa in San Miguel de Allende

Monica

Excellent, 3 months ago

In town a for a wedding and this was an amazing house for my family of four. Yoko was easy to communicate with and quick to respond. Sam also checked in with me. I appreciated their flexibility. Air conditioning in all the rooms was nice. House is beautifully decorated. The bedrooms have plenty of space, comfortable beds, and walk in closets. Downstairs room has early morning natural light so bring eye covers if sensitive. This did not bother me. Showers had hot water and good water pressure. Plenty of soft towels in each bathroom. Large bottles of drinking water was a big plus. Kitchen decor is gorgeous! We did not cook but there were plenty of pots, pans, utensils. Plenty of drinking glasses, plates, bowels all beautiful like the ones you see in Mexican shops. Nice living room/dinning room for family/friends to get together. I highly recommend this house. Bring comfortable walking shoes.

This house was great in terms of look/comfortablity and was in a nice location but there were bed bugs and my partner and I woke up with over +50 welts/bites on our faces, arm, leg, back, everywhere. We were here for our engagement photos and wedding venue shopping and it completely affected our stay and time here, so much that we are still suffering today and have been back and forth to the pharmacy to get it under control. It was very gross seeing the physical bugs in bed - we had to even throw away clothes because of this. Would not expect to pay this much let alone AT ALL to go through this.

This was a very nice place. Close to downtown, easy to get to. Would recommend to anyone looking for a close to centro place that's very affordable and comfortable.

Thank you for staying at Casa Mona Lisa. We hope you come back soon.

I took my boyfriend, children and their partners to SMA for the first time, and all absolutely loved it (as I knew they would). The city is magical, and Sam's house is perfectly sited to easily explore all of the wonderful restarurants, shops, sites and bars that Centro has to offer, as well as the many great little restaurants tucked away in San Antonio. The house is wonderful and was perfect for three couples -- we each had our own private en-suite space with lovely outdoor patios to enjoy. Overall it was a wonderful trip, enhanced by a great house that was set in a perfect location.

Thank you May. You and were guests were so delightful and kind. We appreciate you staying at Casa Mona Lisa!

Clean, well located, very friendly hosts

This house is a gem. It was perfect for our group of four adults traveling to SMA for a wedding. The space is spacious enough for everyone to have their own part of the house, but cozy enough to bring people together in the common spaces. Communication was great and we felt supported the entire time. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Highly recommend!

Thank you for staying at Casa Mona Lisa! We know there are many options and really value your stay at our home.

Casa Mona Lisa was fantastic! It was very charming with each room having it’s own unique touch. The ceiling treatments in each room were fantastic. We loved the original Mexican home feel. The minisplits for ac in each room worked great! The patios were very pleasant for morning coffee or evening cocktails. The beds were extremely comfortable! We felt safe & secure while in the house & safe leaving our things there with the 2 locks/doors at the front entrance. The house had plenty of supplies - dishes, coffee maker, microwave, etc & plenty of toilet paper, paper towels, 5 gallon water jugs. We also liked you weren’t asked to do anything before leaving except lock the door. Yoko, the house manager, was easy to reach for questions through What’s App. Sam, the owner, was always very quick to respond to questions from the beginning to the end. I can’t say enough good things about this home. We will definitely rent it again when we return to San Miguel! 5 stars all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had a wonderful family vacation in this truly lovely Airbnb! The house was not only beautiful but also perfectly situated near the vibrant plaza Jardin Allende, the town's main plaza (about a 10 minute walk). We were a group of six adults, and the house felt both quaint and spacious, with large, clean rooms that provided ample comfort. The responsiveness and helpfulness of the owner, Sam, and the house manager, Yoko, truly stood out. They were always available to assist with any needs. What made our trip even better were Sam's fantastic recommendations for local explorations and restaurants – a huge plus for first-timers like us! San Miguel de Allende itself is an absolute gem, a quaint town with a rich history, stunning local shops, and an impressive array of restaurants just waiting to be discovered. We highly recommend both this home and the destination!

We enjoyed Sam’s house. It is a traditional Mexican home with so much charm and character. I enjoyed the outdoor terraces and the fabulous kitchen. I look forward to returning soon and will stay at Sam’s again. They are doing some construction a few doors down, but Sam told us about this beforehand, and it wasn't a big deal for us. The noise was tolerable ( no weekend noise) and not an issue.

Excellent house. Very comfortable and very well furnished It's in a good location. Close to downtown

Wow my stay exceeded all expectations! The house has everything we needed from water to shampoos and many extra towels, pillows etc. I felt very safe in the neighborhood. The location is pretty central. The house manager Yoko was very responsive and even sent us all the clarifying instructions over video eg how to unlock the house. Incredible!

Thank you for staying at Casa Colibri. You and your guests were delightful and so kind. We hope to see you again soon!

Sam’s place is ideal is wanting to stay near downtown but not in the thick of the chaos. Our 4 kids slept in one section of the house and we slept across the courtyard in another making it feel worlds away. Haha. The house is private and quiet and on a lovely leafy green street with local markets around the corner and a coffee shop on the next street. It’s a quick 15 minutes walk up to the Jardin and honestly, up there and down home is the way to go. The house inside is quiet with enough spaces for everyone to have their own and an amazing rooftop patio that is sooo beautiful. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are pristine. The bedrooms all let in a certain amount of light through skylights and such, so bring eye coverings if sensitive to light when sleeping. The kitchen is well stocked in case you want to cook at home but I highly recommend the taco stand at the local market down the street. We’d definitely book again for our family!

Hi Anna, thank you to you and your wonderful family for staying at Casa Colibri! We appreciate your thoughtfulness during your stay. We hope to see you again!

Chose this home as it has AC and there had been supremely hot weather in recent days. Yoko was very nice in greeting us and showing us the house. It’s a traditional, spacious, Mexican home things are updated but it’s not a renovated home which is nice because you get the charm of a different era. All the bedrooms have very comfortable beds, the winner was the sofa bed. Plenty of hot water for our group 8 to shower. Kitchen is fully stocked and has a dishwasher. Loved the courtyards and the rooftop where we were able to enjoy a a dramatic lightning show somewhere in the distance. Location is good for those over 10 year olds and fit older adults. There is a portion that is cobble stone where smaller feet and /or not as sturdy walkers could have problems. My 6 year old was spent by the time he arrived to the jardin. Thankfully taxis are abundant and $4 dollars. It was a solid stay.

We had a great stay @ Casa Colibri. Sam was very communicative & clear. The house is big & airy with loads of room & great separation for the 2 families that we were. Tastefully furnished & great light. Nice, clean linens & towels. Cute, peaceful neighborhood. We enjoyed walking in & out of the Centro but don’t underestimate that hill! It’s all part of the beauty of SMA.

This house was very comfortable. It was large and my entire family had plenty of space. There were AC units and large TVs in each room. Plenty of extra bedding and towels. The kitchen was also fully equipped. The rooftop was lovely and we had great views of the cathedral. The area was beautiful and close to everything. We discovered some good restaurants around the corner. It was loud sometimes when traffic was busy. We felt safe walking around the neighborhood at night.

Host Response

Hi Daniel! Thank you so much for staying at Casa Colibrí. We hope to you stay again soon.

Our extended family of 6 adults spent two weeks at Sam's lovely home. The house was comfortable and beautifully decorated in the colonial style. We appreciated the high quality Mexican artwork and ceramics (loved the antique doors to the one of the first floor ensuite bathrooms). The layout of the house is excellent and we especially enjoyed the first floor patio for morning coffee and the rooftop patio for stargazing. Beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped including an array of spices so we cooked for ourselves several nights. The home is about a 15-20 minute walk to El Jardin and in a different direction about 15-20 minutes to the area near the Instituto Allende. There is some uphill going into town for those not accustomed to San Miguel's terrain and high altitude (most of us were in our 70s and had no problem at all). House manager Yoko was very helpful and quick to respond.
