Absolutely brilliant, beautiful house/boutique hotel/mansion in the perfect part of the city. The rooms, common areas, and pool are all clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. Beyond that, the staff and services are impeccable. Hernan and his team were available 24 hours a day, and made us feel totally at home. Also, communication ahead of our trip, check in, and making plans was pretty effortless. If you're planning a trip with friends or family, highly recommend staying here.

The entire experience was absolutely supreme from start to finish. The whole staff was extremely accommodating and professional, security made us feel safe 100% of the time, concierge ensured we felt like it was our second home, cleanliness and sanitation was on point, food was delicious, drinks were endless, and the amenities were awesome. The hotel is beautiful and in a great location. Absolutely amazing staff! Hernan and his team went above and beyond to ensure that our group of 13 were taken care of. He arranged tours, recommended places to eat, and was even able to arrange last minute Palenque Dancers to come greet our guests. We had a couple of maintenance issues while we were there, but Hernan and his team took care of it right away. The chef is amazing. Bartenders were some of the best I've experienced. The mojitos are a must, and I don't even like mojitos. The breakfast spread they put together each morning was great. We got to try a variety of local dishes and flavors. You MUST have at least one breakfast and dinner on the property. The meals were just as good, if not better, than some of the top restaurants we ate at. It can get a little warm in the common areas, as there is no AC, but I visited other properties and this seems to be the norm in order to keep the beautiful architectural integrity of the building. The two beds in the mezzanine overlook the dining room, so very comfortable area, but not great for light sleepers. We loved both pool areas. Great place to unwind after a day of touring. The property was so accommodating. They were able to transform the rooftop into an area for us to enjoy Salsa and Bachatta dancing. I had the opportunity to stay at their sister property Casa de Alba. It was beautiful as well. Overall great place for a group!

Leones De Alba is gorgeous inside and out. I would highly recommend staying here with a big group. This house has 2 larger common areas, the banquet room/kitchen -- which is a big, well-lit, air-conditioned room with a huge dining table where you can have meals. There's also a small sitting area adjacent to the table. Attached to this room is a loft bedroom and a small non-suite double twin bedroom. The other common area is the rooftop which is one of the highest rooftops of any Airbnb in the city. The views are insane. There's also a smaller sitting room on the 3rd floor landing outside the kitchen. While these common areas are not as large or contiguous as some of the other larger Airbnbs in Cartagena (e.g. you walk into a huge courtyard with a pool and outdoor dining area), the house makes up for it in other ways. The only other slightly negative things I would say are: the wifi is sometimes pretty slow, and two of the street-side rooms on the second floor can get a bit loud at night since the house is in the heart of the city. Things I love about Leones de Alba: -The staff: they are incredibly kind, efficient, and helpful. They catered to our every need and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and taken care of. The rooms were cleaned and made up every day. -The rooms: the rooms are very very good. Unlike a lot of other HUGE Cartagena Airbnbs that I've stayed in, these rooms feel like you're in a 5-star hotel. Everything from the beds to the finishes feels new and expensive and worth your money. The showers are really nice (and in some cases there are massive bathtubs). There are a lot of different types of rooms in the house, from a 3-bed duplex room to the suites on the 2nd floor. -The food: we had the staff prepare us breakfast and a dinner one night and the quality and quantity of the food was perfect. -Host/Communication: very easy to communicate with, check in, and set up activities outside of the normal operation of the house. Our guy Hernan helped us book a boat for the house for an excursion -The Rooftop: the rooftop has a larger hot tub/pool-type thing along with a bunch of sun-loungers and two additional taller outlook levels above the main deck. The view from the very top can't really be described it's so good. -The furniture/stairs: All felt really nice and looked really cool. All-in-all -- amazing house with an amazing staff. Thank you for having us!

Casa de Alba is an incredible place to stay!! The staff was always available to help with anything we needed. The house is beautiful, clean and the rooms are air-conditioned. The location is perfect, in the middle of old-town.

16 person bachelor party. You get the entire house to yourself. House can comfortable sleep up to 20. Best location in the walled city. 1 small pool inside the house and 1 tiny pool on the roof. You get full time staff with meals(for a price). Our butler Juan made everything so easy for us, couldn’t have done it without him. Lunch at Cevicheria, dinner Carmen, party and La Movida. Only negatives was really bad WiFi and shower pressure. Would 100% recommend it.

Casa de Alba is a great place for large groups who want to stay in the best location in Cartagena. We were a group of 17, and they accommodated us very well. All of the meals cooked by the house chef were excellent. And, Juan, Hernan, Luis and all of the other hotel staff bent over backwards to help us enjoy our time in Cartagena. This is a one of a kind opportunity to stay at a full service Airbnb. The staff was always available to help with anything we needed and was constantly looking to help us make the most of our trip. The rooms are beautiful and air-conditioned. The location is within 5 min of everywhere we wanted to go. I wish there were more Airbnb's with this level of professionalism and service.

We had the best time at Leones de Alba. The house was beautiful and centrally located. We also loved having the rooftop pool and luxurious bedrooms. The best part of our stay, however, were the staff! From the moment we booked, the staff were readily available to help with requests. We felt so welcomed and safe during our stay!

My friends and I had a great time. The house was amazing. Absolutely spotless with all the nice little touches, including good linens, soap, shampoo etc... The location (right in the middle of the Old City) was also perfect. Lastly the staff on premises was amazing. We would definitely come again.

Casa de Alba is pure magic. The house staff treated us like family and went above and beyond to make sure that we had an unforgettable time in Cartagena. The house was beautiful. Location was perfect. The staff was amazing. They can do everything and make sure all of your needs are taken cared of. Make sure you get the option for them to cook for you. It's worth it and it's a lot of food. Perfect trip.

This place is absolutely amazing. Great location and wonderful staff. My only complaint is that there were incidental charges (not included in the nightly rate) that we weren't expecting like "waiter charges." Despite that, it was an awesome place with a wonderful staff. We would definitely stay there again when we return to Cartagena.

I cannot emphasize enough how amazing this location is! You MUST stay here. I stayed here in a group of 22 adults, which was about the max for adults (assuming you have 2 people in all double/king beds). Several people in my group said "we've stayed in 5-star accommodations in other cities/countries before and this is probably nicer... I can't believe this was on AirBnb." Make sure you pay extra for the chef and staff because they make high quality dinners and it's so much easier to have dinner in the house with that big of a group of people. Our dinner on the second night when they had time to prep all day was amazing. We paid ~$100-$120 a person for 2 breakfasts, 2 dinners, and more alcohol than we could finish in 2 days -- so overall quite affordable, especially when you factor in that all of it was planned for us and in our home. One thing that wasn't clear when I looked at other reviews is there is a house staff that's there to take care of all of your needs -- if you want alcohol / food / anything, just ask and they'll deliver! Also, one of the staff members (Leonardo) speaks English, which isn't standard in Colombia, but made everything so much easier for us -- both in communications before we got to the house and while we were there. The quality of the house is very nice -- beautiful decor and the bathrooms are amazing... we all were taking our tourist photos inside the house. We had other friends staying in houses nearby in Cartagena and everyone agreed we had the nicest by far. Also, two pools (though both are fairly small). If I HAD to complain (which I don't), the only thing that wasn't perfect was water pressure/temperature in the showers -- but that's a fair trade-off to make in my opinion. Overall, stay here. You won't regret it.

Casa de Alba was a dream. I stayed here with 14 friends for my bachelorette and the house could not have been any more perfect. The design, the 2 pools, the rooftop, the central location in historic city, the staff, everything was impeccable. The house was built in 1560 and was home to Sir Francis Drake. You will be living through history in this unforgettable place. Andres and I chatted frequently leading up to the days of arrival. He assisted with everything from dinner reservations, airport transfers, private chef, groceries, boat suggestions, itinerary suggestions. I would 1000% recommend staying here.

If you are looking for exceptional service with all your questions and desires answered and with an extraordinary house to enjoy your vacation this is it! Andres and staff are willing to please and comfort your stay all you need to do is ask! Now the chef of the house is 5 stars...Great attitude and great cooking skills. The house is centrally located that you will save money in traveling because you will need no taxis. The house is gorgeous and the bedrooms big and the 2 pools are so refreshing!

We travelled to Cartagena for a friend's birthday. This hotel is actually a mansion with hotel amenities. We rented the entire 7 bedroom mansion and it was absolutely fantastic. The location is a 10 in the old city - right across from the cathedral and walking distance to everything. The mansion is very luxurious. The full time staff is wonderful arranging every need you may have. This is the perfect location for: 1) 7 couples traveling together, 2) guys or girls trip to Cartagena, 3) multiple families. There is a huge benefit to renting the entire mansion as it becomes your private villa to hang out in. Highly recommend!
