4BR Villa in Puerto Escondido

Lau

Excellent, 2 months ago

Everything was great. I loved the stay, 10/10. The communication was 10/10. It was really lovely.

Amazing place! It is exactly as described. It was very clean, spacious for a family or group of friends, with a lush garden, and amazing pool. You feel right at home. The hosts welcomed us when we arrived and they were very kind. They showed us everything in the house, was easy to communicate with them via phone, and gave us local tips. It’s very close to Zicatela beach and one of the main streets with lots of bars, restaurants, and stores. There’s a cool and safe vibe in the area. We can only recommend it!

Paul's Airbnb was perfect for our trip. The photos don't do justice to what the Airbnb is, the decorations, the vibe of the house is spectacular. I was looking for an Airbnb that had a hidden port vibe and this Airbnb was perfect since the common areas are open with very beachy decorations. And although the common areas are open, they have fans everywhere, and apart from that, three of the rooms are closed with air conditioning in case you need a break with air conditioning. The Airbnb comes with many amenities and things that help you a lot, such as almost unlimited purified water jugs, many towels, access to the washing machine and dryer. The apartment has a ping pong table, a pool that is kept very clean, many lounge chairs and hammocks to relax. It even comes with a grill for a roast. I highly recommend this Airbnb and if I go back to Puerto Escondido, I would definitely stay here again

We really enjoyed our stay. The pool was perfect for our six- and eight-year-old sons, and having a TV was a great bonus for relaxing in the evenings. You will need a four-wheeler or scooter to get around, as it’s quite a hike to the beach with little ones, but renting something makes it easy and is definitely worth it. Jorge, the house manager, was amazing. We had a power outage, and he came over at midnight to help resolve it—something we truly appreciated.

It's a beautiful place, super nice and practically next to an area with many restaurants and also close to many other places. The kitchen is very complete, the style of the house is very tasteful. The pool is excellent for a barbecue. There was a mix-up about the sheets but communication with the host is good and we were able to come to an agreement. I highly recommend it for groups of friends, it is a very quiet area and we were able to park outside without any risk.

This is an absolutely great place to stay. It's much nicer than the pictures. Not far away but away from the hustle and bustle of the city, there is a cozy green oasis here, with everything you need. We were impressed and had a great time.

Host Response

Thanks for staying Sophie. I hope you all come back soon.

It is a very nice, spacious, very green "rustic" house, everything you need for a stay in Pto, nice and walkable to the entire Punta area with restaurants etc. Jorge, who takes care of the house, was very attentive. Cars can park outside in front of the house (it's a really quiet area). The only issue we had was that we got a scorpion in one of the rooms. We gave them the feedback to fumigate more often and the answer was to take care of the little dog we were bringing. They avoided it, and tried to resolve it in a less toxic way for dogs, which we appreciate, but they should have anticipated it beforehand. Everything else was perfect

The house is fine in general but there are problems, like paying $12,000 for parking, there are more guests in the house, little lighting, no mosquito nets and time to use the pool.

Host Response

I appreciate your feedback. I wish your experience were as positive as that of the vast majority of our other guests. I understand you were upset that we had to ask you on three occasions to keep the late night noise down. For future renters, please note that in accordance with rules at la Punta, we ask for quiet after 11 pm. We have safe guest parking just outside our gates and offer parking inside the gates for a fee of only $20 USD per day. There are mosquito nets available for all beds, we like the relatively dim lighting (and it attracts fewer bugs). The pool is closed at night as part of the cleaning schedule, for safety, and to keep noise down in the neighbourhood.

It is a very nice house and the location is also super good. Just keep in mind that (as the publication says) the ceiling is straw (palapa) and as such, there are no glass windows in the room, so you are more exposed to being inside the house with any animal; there are usually lizards, ants and mosquitoes, and we even found an animal that we didn't know if it was bat or old mouse, the fourth room (the one that does not have air conditioning), was more exposed to all this because the ceiling was still straw and not concrete like the other rooms. Of course, the view is very nice and has a large pool. The washer and dryer worked super well and the kitchen is spacious and with all amenities. We are sorry that at night, the lighting was a bit dim but overall it was fine. And another very nice detail is that there was a ping pong table, a chess table and other games available.

Host Response

Thanks for your feedback, Vero. Indoor/Outdoor living.... it's all the rage, especially in the tropics where it makes the most sense for air flow. The Palapa roof is the most expensive roof style available and we use it to keep the house fresh. There are some animalitos. It's slowing getting paved over but we are still in the tropics in Puerto and you can still enjoy nature. You can expect to see little animalitos, including bats and ants but also a huge variety of beautiful birds that come to visit the house

The house is very nice and spacious. Thank you very much Jorge!

Mr. Jorge and Paul were very attentive and helpful at all times, resolved any situation and gave us very good local recommendations. We traveled 8 people, the pool excellent, the rooms also except for 1 room that was very small and only had a fan (no air) and another thing to observe is that in the area no music is allowed in the night-square. From there everything is very good, the kitchen is very well equipped, hot water, the refrigerator cools well and the house is very cool. We felt right at home and would definitely come back :)

Paul's place is a 15 minute walk. The slope is somewhat tired but it is very easy to access for entry and exit. The place is super comfortable and we had an amazing time amazing. Highly recommended!

Great house, a lot better than the pictures. The rooms have A/C and the beds are comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped and Paul was very nice to include several complimentary things. The pool is the best, so big and perfect temperature. Overall amazing stay.

I loved everything, it's exactly what it offers, we had a great time, it has a beautiful garden, the house is very comfortable, everything was excellent and the people who took care of us were very kind and friendly, they recommended places to visit and told us about the place and its amenities, they were very kind, I highly recommend it, many thanks to Paul, an excellent host. I would definitely go back again

let’s start from the beginning : PERFECT! The house was clean, beautiful, calm with a lot to do nearby. Paul is a fantastic host and the staff taking care of the house is so lovely and careful . The pool and garden were taken care of every morning. The house was completely cleaned once during of our stay. We even had a local electric shortage in the area one night and Axcell took care of us and accommodate ways to charge our phones and even provide us internet. I repeat, this stay has been perfect and we will be back as soon as possible. Thank you to everyone

I travel to Puerto a lot and this was, BY FAR, the best airbnb in Puerto Escondido that I've ever stayed in. The place had Mexico's magical charm in the design with lots of modern functionality - really nice bath, pool, clean water to drink, warm water to shower with, AC, etc. Walking distance from the main part of La Punta . It felt nice to be close enough to walk to the "happenings" of the town, but far enough to enjoy the quiet part of the neighborhood. One of our friends also rented a motor and used that to travel around other parts of Puerto. The wifi worked very well - 3 of us were working from home for the week and on multiple calls at the same time with great connection. It's important to note that 1 room didn't have AC. That would be my only "complaint" about the place, but our friend who stayed in that room was very happy with the fan. Overall, can not recommend this airbnb enough AND can't wait to rent it again!!

Absolutely fantastic place, which made our trip. The sun is very hot in the middle of the day so this villa provided the perfect sanctuary away from the heat of the beach. In fact it was so lovely we found it hard to leave the villa! The garden and pool area is beautiful. We didn't want to leave. Also we found this area to be much nicer than the main town of Escondido (loads of surf shops, nice restaurants, bars etc) It's about 10 minutes down the hill to the beach and shops.

Paul’s place was the favourite of our stays on the trip. Spacious indoors with comfortable beds, a well equipped kitchen and laundry facilities. The pool and outdoor space was amazing, so relaxing and everything outdoors was cleaned daily so pristine condition. Even an outdoor shower and bbq. The strip with restaurants, shops and bars was a few minutes walk and the beach was beautiful. Paul included everything needed for our stay as far as household items we lacked for nothing. Jorge and Elena were always available to ask a question. Would not hesitate to stay in the future. Thanks Paul for a great experience!

A phenomenal vacation house in Puerto Escondido. Walkable to so many delicious restaurants and beautiful beaches, but tucked away in a spot that feels safe and private. Paul’s local house hosts Jorge & Eloísa were so helpful and friendly, and only a text away if we ever needed anything. The house itself is gorgeous and unique with an airy open floor plan. 3 of the bedrooms have AC that worked wonderfully and the 4th is equipped with fans and located on the shady side of the house so it stays very comfortable. Having our own pool to cool off in during the hottest parts of the day was such a luxury and it’s kept clean daily. A favorite feature is the kitchen has a spigot with fresh drinking water from jugs that are delivered and replenished constantly, so you don’t need to lug water bottles to the home every day. For being a very half-indoor half-outdoor home, the place is super clean. We will absolutely be booking again. Thank you!

I’m echoing a lot of what has been said about this place. Jorge, Eloísa and Axl are amazing! If you need anything, they’ll make sure you have it. The house is lovely, it’s super walkable to La Punta. Kitchen has great setup and everything you’ll need, even spices. The beds are great. The pool and outdoor space are heavenly. The garden is pristine and really grounding. We did a long stay in this house and loved it. It felt like a great home away from home. The only thing that I would note that I didn’t understand when booking is that the fourth bedroom is more exposed and not fully enclosed inside the house; that was a bit tricky for our kids so we didn’t end up using it for sleeping. I think most adults would be fine with it, just a bit noisier. If you’re splitting this house among four people it’s worth noting there is some inequality in bedrooms, one with air conditioning and that one noisier room.

Host Response

Hi Abbey, thanks very much for your feedback. Since your stay, we have installed air conditioning in two more bedrooms. We are also having the fourth, smaller room enclosed with sliding glass doors in a couple of weeks.

A super convenient location, a property with a perfect tropical setting and unbeatable host attention made us have a great weekend in group.

What a fantastic place to stay. We were a group of eight people and it was large enough to sleep everyone and for each person to have enough personal space. The pool was an extra treat to hit at the end of the day. We loved staying there

The place is fun to hang out and very conveniently located, however the post says that there are 2.5 bathrooms and it is not true. There are only two in the house and the third half bath is outside in the patio and it belongs to another family that lives in the property.

Host Response

I appreciate the feedback but the bathroom is actually a full bathroom, outside of the main house, for use primarily when hanging at the pool. It is used very occasionally by the groundskeeper. There is no other family living on the property. I call it a 1/2 bathroom in the listing because it is outside of the house and used by the groundskeeper.

Great place!!

I highly recommend Paul's home as a great vacation home in Puerto Escondido. I was there for 4 weeks and utilized Paul's recommended cook 3 days each week. She is a good cook and housekeeper and enjoyable to have around the house. This way I did not have to eat out all the time. Paul's house is walking distance from the beach and shopping. The house is also close to taxis for easy access to down town and the other wonderful PE beaches. Having your own well cared for swimming pool is fabulous.

My family and I stayed at Paul’s house for Christmas and it was a great experience! The cook Antonia and her daughter Esther made delicious food (I highly recommend the lemon pie)!! The house is a 10-15 min walk to the beach and to some tasty restaurants. One of the best features of the house is the pool! It was amazing to swim and relax there during the afternoons. The caretaker Jorge’s wife Eloísa met us and the first day and explained everything. Jorge came each morning to clean to pool and water the plants. They were both very helpful and answered any questions we had. The water shut off one night, but Jorge took care of it within two hours. We stayed in the main house and the little cabin. The little cabin and one of the rooms in the main house had AC. The rest of the rooms had fans. One of the rooms in the main house doesn’t have complete walls so it can get a bit loud with the rooster cawing in the middle of the night. All the rooms were very nice and clean. Although the house does have internet, it isn’t very fast, so if you need to get any work done, that can be difficult. Overall, my family had an amazing time and we highly recommend this beautiful house!

Host Response

Thanks Hannah! The slow internet shouldn't be slow for long. We're set to have fibre optic installed any day now!
