This little cocoon is a must for anyone who wishes to be close to the locals, chat with them, and discover the local culture. This family is exceptionally kind! Manuela responds attentively to every request or question and is very attentive to her guests. The accommodation is ideally located, between the northern and southern parts of the island. The beach at the back of the property is the largest on the island and, in my opinion, the most beautiful! This place definitely deserves a 10/10!

I really enjoyed my stay. I liked the quiet beach, little kittens and cute dogs they had, and the casita was cute. They do come in every day to tidy up which was interesting but overall I would definitely stay again

It was a wonderful experience staying with the Hernandes family. We were very warmly welcomed and looked after. The surroundings and the accommodation are very nice. You feel like home. Very family-friendly, with dogs, cats, chickens, and all kinds of wild birds flying around. We highly recommend this place.

We stayed at Manuela's place for a week. The accommodation is very well equipped, nicely decorated, and very clean. Manuela comes to clean the room, and there is a bottle of filtered water in the room. The walking access to Santo Domingo Beach from the property is extraordinary. Swimming is great, and there's a view of both volcanoes 🌋. Manuela's kindness, the fresh eggs every morning, and the very friendly communication. I highly recommend this authentic homestay experience. Thank you, Manuela, for your hospitality.

Our stay at Manuela's place was amazing, if we ever come back we would definetly stay here again. The house is located right next to the sandy beach with a beautiful view of both volcanoes, the surrounding area is quite green. The room is located on their property, but it is very private. It has a private bathroom, a ceiling fan, a fridge and fresh drinking water. Everything is clean and neat, the bed is comfortable. Manuela and her family are all very nice and helpful, they were always available if we needed any help. We would definetly recommend staying at Manuela's place, it is comfortable, peaceful, and we always felt at home.

This is the definition of Super-Host! Manuela and her husband Walter were the best hosts I have been to. They went out of their way to help me out. 100% trustworthy. Their property backs onto a private beach! Can't recommend them enough, great experience.

If you get to stay here you are so lucky. Manuela and Walter are the most wonderful hosts, they are so happy to share their beautiful oasis and they are very kind hosts. Manuela was very responsive on text throughout my stay and very helpful to organize a taxi from the ferry and to help me out with getting transport to do things on the island. You can access the water front and my favourite thing to do was to walk there first thing in the morning. The craft, detail and care to the suite are so evident of how much they care about sharing their beautiful home. Just be ready to never want to leave!

We had an amazing stay at Manuela & Walter’s house. The location is very good close to some of the main touristic spots and on paved road (good if you are renting a scooter or atv). There is even a big supermarket close by - which is also very useful. The space was comfortable and clean, with built in bathroom (and great hot shower). House space and garden is also very nice and you have direct access to the beach which is in their backyard, We also had the breakfast which was super yummy. Lastly, both Manuela and Walter are fantastic hosts. Very kind and friendly people, and truly feels like a family stay. Absolutely recommend.❤️

Manuela, Walter and Merlinda are exceptional hosts. They are committed to doing well, always very attentive, smiling and welcoming. The room is very nice and clean, with its private bathroom, fridge available, coffee maker, eco filter and nice green terrace. Walter's talent for woodworking can be seen everywhere in their home, with high-quality furniture and pieces. Access to the family kitchen was a plus for us. The bus passing in front of the accommodation is convenient and Manuela organized our transfers from her home. The beach is also accessible directly from their land where chickens, dogs and cats live in joyful harmony. Thank you very much for everything 🙏

We loved our time staying with Manuela and Walter. The room was perfect and had everything we needed. Access to the kitchen was so helpful. They were so friendly and kind to us during our stay and made us feel right at home. Manuela was so responsive and helpful with recommendations and tips for things to do. We are so happy that we found Manuela & Walter’s place. At the time of writing this we have been on the road for 5 months and this is by far our favourite accommodation. The room was spotless and had everything we needed. The outdoor seating was very comfortable, and the perfect spot to try their tipico breakfast (make sure to order this!) The room furnishings are very well crafted by Walter himself. The location for us was perfect, tucked away enough for peace, close enough to walk to some restaurants and very easy to get to if you hire a bike or ATV - which they can source locally for you. Manuela was a great help, to organise shuttles, transport, tours, kayaking, anything you can think of on Ometepe. The entire property is beautiful & relaxing, we loved spending time here and getting to know their lovely pets Bimbo, Dookie & Pinto. Manuela & Walter and their family are what make this place so special, they have the biggest hearts and will give you the best Nicaraguan experience!

Manuela and Walter were the perfect hosts. Super easy to reach and incredibly friendly! The breakfast was also great and generally everything was very clean and impeccable. Above all, the warmth and the efforts were unique. Manuela is so helpful and always quick to reach. The location is great because you can reach both parts of the island quickly and all the highlights of the island are very close. Overall, we had a great stay and I highly recommend this place 😊😊😊

I had an amazing stay! I definitely recommend this place as a great starting point for exploring and a superb place to relax. Manuela was a great host - she helped planning transportation and gave tips on activities. The house is great! Clean and cosy and the porch had a hammock and great chairs for relaxation. The beach is literally in the backyard but due to strong winds there was not really any sand to walk on. Didn't really matter I went for a swim anyways and it was okay. I walked to Ojo de Agua, to a kajak tour and to Pital Hostel. It was around 5k to each place which made the location great. Overall an amazing stay!
