Beautiful home, very well maintained, a great location. Mat was proactive with communication and helped us to feel comfortable prior to arriving. Easy check in process. Esther was wonderful and cooked us a delicious breakfast one morning. She did all the shopping which made it very easy for us! We had an issue with one of the ac units and within minutes, help was on the way! This was a very enjoyable stay and we created some beautiful family memories in this wonderful house. Highly recommend.

With a larger family, arriving at Matt’s place was a breath of fresh air. We all had a room and a bed making us feel at home. The weather was hot but the AC in each room kept us cool while we were there. The pool was nice and the kids were in it almost the entire time we were there. The location is close to nearby restaurant and cafe’s. There’s a market next door if you ever need snacks or drinks. Esthel and Juan Carlos did a great job attending the place when needed and providing a comfortable stay for us. I would stay here again if I came back to Merida which I hope I do.

Merida is a great city to visit, the house is very well located and delivers what it promises. In addition to the location, the team that supports the management of the house makes the experience excellent. Carlos (with his good service) and Esther (with her good cooking and good service) make a difference.

We were very happy , we spent a very pleasant time for the family, the children enjoyed the pool to the fullest, Mrs. Esther, an excellent cook, she consented to us quite a bit, we will surely return someday.

Excellent place for a large group, the street is a bit neglected, but since you are inside the house, you forget, excellent support from Mat. I would come back and recommend it.

Mat’s place is fantastic. Make sure to add Ester to your stay. She came in and cooked breakfast every morning and did some light cleaning. Mat communicated well and solved problems fast. I’ve stayed at many large houses in Merida. If it’s your first time here, this is a premium location.

Amazing house, looks better than in pictures, it is in the heart of the city, great for families and groups. We really enjoyed our stay and had a fabulous time. The hosts are great people, easy communication, everything went very smooth, we would definitely stay here again when in Merida. The location is surrounded by the best restaurants in town. Also just a 40 minutes drive to the beach and cenotes. Esther is a great cook, she can do any traditional breakfast. We loved everything about the place!

Mat’s house is great! The location couldn’t be better! We could walk to one of our favorites restaurants at Paseo Montejo (Rosas&Xocolate) and to the champolas at Neveria Colon. We had several questions about our stay (not related to any issues in the house) and Mat helped us so much and responded very quickly. The house is very comfortable, beds are amazing, you can have restful nights if you stay here. Ester cooked for us several days and she was great, we could relax and enjoy delicious food. We had a great time at Mat’s house. You won’t regret staying here!

The villa is in a great location, just a short walk from Paseo de Montejo, but offers a beautiful tranquility at the same time. Our host was always quick to respond when we had questions, requests or adjustments to make. Two thumbs up for the pool and outdoor air !

This house it the perfect home to rent with friends and family! The location is central and while it is behind a few restaurants, it was the quietest house we have rented in Merida. We stayed her for our daughter's wedding and were able to walk to all the events and visit with our guests that were staying in hotels. The kitchen is well stocked and the pool area was very inviting. It was nice to be able to do laundry and eat meals together. Next trip to Merida we will be staying here again! Mat was the best host!

This villa is a beautiful gem in Merida! The place was exactly as described- very clean, and comfortable for with all the accommodations and amenities you’d need for a SAFE and relaxing stay. Very close to Paseo Montejo and centrally located to great restaurants, museums and the main square in town. Mat was a wonderful host and very helpful communicating detailed information prior to checking in. We also had help from Esther who prepared breakfast and helped with keeping things organized around the house. The layout of the house allows for kids, adults and large groups to spread out and enjoy the out doors without feeling cramped. You will not be disappointed if you stay here! Thanks again Mat for allowing us the opportunity to enjoy your casa!

We loved our weekend here. This place is perfect for a group - so many areas to hang out and be outside together. The beds were very comfortable and the location was amazing - just a short walk from most places we wanted to go. We will definitely try to stay here again if we are back in Merida!

Mat’s place is stunning and photos don’t do it justice. Everything was super clean and we just loved it! Mat was easy to reach and was nice enough to let us drop our bags off early so we could explore the city before check in without having to carry suitcases. This is an awesome historic, charming place to stay while in Merida. Very nice for large families with consecutive patios that give you a sense of spaciousness, depth and tons of ventilation. The setup provides ample room for adults and kids to be together when needed or separate but safe when wanted. Lots of character, caring hosts and the best location. Thank you Mat!

This is the perfect home in Merida. The beds and the pillows are amazing. The bathrooms are stocked with shampoo, conditioner and body soap- this is a perfect touch. We also had the help of Ester to cook for us! She is absolutely amazing highly recommended. I will definitely be here again. Thank you Mat!!!

This place was amazing! This is a colonial home that has been completely remodeled. It has plenty of bedrooms and a really nice pool with patio area. Mat the Host was awesome. He was very prompt to answer any questions. This house is located in a prime area as it is one street over from Paseo Montejo.

We loved our stay here. The house is bigger than it appeared in pictures, and was absolutely beautiful. The layout was perfect for our group and gave us a couple different gathering points for our group. The house was better appointed than many places we have stayed, including a little welcome basket of treats and snacks. Mat was super responsive and immediately answered all of our questions (he also gave us great restaurant recommendations). The location of the house could not be better. We would absolutely come back here next time.

Great choice. We had an amazing time. Common spaces, kitchen, beds, bathrooms. We had a very nice stay and the owner had excellent communication and support with us.

An unforgettable stay in a dream house. We were there with 3 families with 7 children. The house is perfect (clean, large, friendly, equipped) and beautifully located. The pool is a real pleasure (for both kids and adults). What's more, Mat is extremely attentive, always there to answer our questions in addition to giving us good recommendations, including Esther's to help us with the cleaning and cook some local dishes (a real delight!). In short, I would definitely recommend! I hope to come back…and sooner than later.

Mat is an excellent host, always aware of everything. The house has an excellent location one block from Paseo Montejo, the house is really very well equipped, sound on the terrace, functional pool, very well equipped kitchen, bedrooms all with A/C, TV with cable system and functional internet throughout the house. The person who has a great person at home who adds a lot of value to the stay.

We had an amazing stay at Villa 56! Everything was perfect. The kitchen is great and has everything you need - even a muddler, which was perfect for making mojitos! The pool was sparkling with lots of lounging space around it. The hammocks on the patio were well appreciated at siesta time. The rooms were well appointed and spacious. It was a great place for our three families, and so conveniently located to everything.

Pictures do not do this justice. The home absolutely blew our minds - very clean, 10-15 minute drive to everything, and the amenities were fantastic. Mat was also very responsive, which we very much appreciated. There's a rooftop bar just 2 blocks north called Mui Mui - definitely recommend going there.

What a beautiful house! Walking in is such a surprise, the high ceilings and large rooms are wonderful. Very nicely styled. Nice location close to paseo de montejo and Mercado 60, a fun spot to visit on the weekend evenings. Esther came to make breakfast for us one morning, it was amazing! Thanks for everything.

Mats house was a pleasure to stay in. It was easy to check in and in such a great location. The parking was fairly easy and very close to the house. The house itself is very beautiful and well taken care of. Mat is a great host and responds quickly. He helped us with whatever we needed. I would not hesitate to book this house again.

This was an amazing space! The pictures don’t do it justice. The pool area is divine. Sky high ceilings and beautiful woodwork+ There was ample space for our extended family of 12. The common areas - kitchen, pool area, backyard, roof deck & ‘TV room’ are very spacious. The bedrooms are large. It is in a fabulous location, in a very safe, walkable city (and taxis are cheap when needed). We loved Merida & Villa 56.

Great experience overall for myself and my family of 9. Smooth check-in process and everything was clean and as described. The house is beautiful, just a block off Paseo Montejo and within easy walking distance of the main historical center of Merida. We especially appreciated Esther and her amazing breakfasts - she's a gem.

I stayed with my family for 7 days, we really enjoyed the house, which in addition to good taste and comfort, has an unbeatable location. The details that Matt offers make the stay much easier.

WOW. What a total GEM of a property (read: mansion) nestled behind the buzzing, clean, safe and friendly street of Paseo de Montejo. Our group of 8 had such a great time relaxing by the pool, reading in the hammocks, and listening to music while at the house. Mat was an exceptional host, always very available to respond to any questions I had. Can I just talk about ESTHER. Best food we had in Mérida was compliments of her wonderful chilaquites, huevos rancheros and guacamole. And she pointed us in the direction of the best cenotes in Yucatán. We had the best time! Highly recommend staying at this property.

Beautiful, large space, newly renovated, with a centerpiece pool. Very clean, one short block from Paseo de Montejo at Palacio Canton, two blocks from the wonderful Dulceria de Colon, a pleasant 15 minute walk to the Plaza Grande. The front rooms from an original building have 20 foot ceilings. This is a great space for a larger party, with a big open kitchen, bar and patio. Mat was super responsive and helpful, often replying within minutes. We had a great stay in Merida and highly recommend Mat’s place.

We loved our stay at Mat’s place. The villa is huge with two outdoor areas with pool, hammock, and speakers. It is perfect for a family/large group and is located centrally in Merida. The house was clean and had everything we needed including towels and shampoo/conditioner/body wash (which I often find is only given in small quantities or missing at Airbnb’s). There are beach towels and extra sunscreen and bug spray.

The house is super well located, the bedrooms are very good size and each bathroom inside. Comfortable mattresses as well as pillows, tasteful decoration style, very nice leisure spaces, well maintained well lit. Just like the pictures, just like the pictures. Detail that always makes guests very happy is that there was sugar, coffee, oil, cream, etc. Basic things to start the stay that not all properties offer them. Mat is always friendly and willing with quick responses. This is a great Airbnb property

Mat responds quickly to questions. Quickly replaced broken coffee maker. Great location a block off Paseo Montego but quiet enough as is in a neighborhood and walking distance to all of the Centro locations. Esther, who made us breakfast two mornings per Mats recommendation was delightful and a fabulous cook! She even made a special order of two home made flans for us to take to an event one evening. Great stay at Mat’s in Merida!

Excellent location just 1 block from coffee shops, restaurants and convenience stores. Clean, safe, beautiful and perfect for a group of 10. Definitely recommended having Esther cook breakfast - delicious! Far exceeded expectations. Uber is readily available and inexpensive so easy to get anywhere. We highly recommend!

This was about as good as it gets. The place was amazing. The location was perfect. The host was kind and responsive. Esther, the house chef and cleaner, felt like family by the end. The worst part of the experience was leaving because it was so sad to say good bye. This experience easily earned its 5 stars

We highly recommend this beautiful home!! Mat was a perfect host, answering all of our inquiries quickly and with lots of valuable info. The house was every bit as wonderful as portrayed in the photos and description. We were even greeted with a basket of treats upon arrival! We hired Esther to cook breakfasts which was a real treat! Incredible, simply incredible. We spent a week with our family at May’s place and loved every second of it. May went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed for our stay. And if the beautiful home wasn’t enough, having Esther around to make us fresh ‘Mexican’ breakfasts was amazing. Book it!

This is a fantastic house for a group. The pictures don’t really do it justice. The rooms are large, the patios are awesome, and the kitchen is amazing. The location is perfect for exploring the historic parts of Merida. I wish we had stayed longer than three nights!

This house was gorgeous! Mat was very responsive and gave us very detailed directions and instructions for the house. For an additional charge he was also able to schedule Esther, an amazing cook, to prepare delicious breakfasts during our stay. We were a group of 10 and the rooms were perfect, especially since all had their own bathroom! Perfect for us women in the group that like to spend a few extra minutes to get ready. We were in Merida to celebrate my grandma’s 80th Birthday and the top highlights of our trip were definitely the house and Esther who cooked amazing food.

the house is beautiful. The facilities are first-class and the kitchen is very nice and functional. It is very well located. Mat is an excellent host and Esther is the person who hired us to help us, delicious cuisine and has a very good disposition. We could not have had a better time elsewhere.

What an amazing house. The rooms are massive, and one of the en suites by itself is bigger than most apartments. The host is very responsive and helpful (the place was incredibly well stocked in every respect, so we had no reason to ask for any thing material; we asked for restaurant recommendations etc, and our host gave fabulous recommendations and great advice). This is a top, top place, incredibly central and fabulously maintained. Cannot recommend this amazing place highly enough for large groups (we were nine).

Mat's place is amazing. It has a super nice atmosphere to it. Its close to a lot of nice restaurants and beautiful areas in Merida. And then it has the nicest court in the center of the house with a super nice pool. We spend so much time in that pool. Its pretty hot in Merida so it was a lifesaver. Mat was fast to answer questions if we had any. I cant recommend it enough!

Mat's house is beautiful, with all the services and facilities you need. It's better than being in a 5 star hotel. Mat is very attentive and helpful with a perfect stay. Be sure to try Esther's treats;) Just in case it wasn't enough, the location is unbeatable.

Villa 56 was incredible. The pool was a needed relief from the daily humidity. All of the bedrooms were great. The A/C was greatly appreciated. Great location, plenty of restaurants/shops and cafes right around the corner. Also the little restaurant next door with a sit down counter (El Changarro) has unbelievable local food.

The house is one block away from the Main Street of Mérida, Paseo de Montejo, much like the Champs-Élysées in Paris. It’s a bout a 15 minute walk to the main square and there are plenty of great air ants and shopping along the way. The house is impeccable, a bathroom for every bedroom, great little pool and the AC works well. Definitely recommend.

You can reserve with your eyes closed. Mathieu's place is perfect! A great place in Mérida, very well placed, spacious, very clean, very quiet and tastefully furnished. Hard to find better! Very good value for money.

Mat's home is absolutely breathtaking! The location cannot be beat - close to everything yet a quiet cozy place to hang out. The kitchen has everything you need. The pool in the central courtyard is fantastic. So many places to gather for morning coffee, afternoon beer or margarita and pre/post dinner cocktails. The layout of the bedrooms is great for families and couples - every room has a private bath and shower - a huge plus!! Our host Mat and his wife were very accommodating and helpful, always very responsive to questions. This rental in Merida is a gem. If you are looking for a great home to stay in you must book this place!!

We LOVED our stay at Mat's Airbnb. It is a beautiful house with many indoor and outdoor spaces for several couples or families to spread out and relax. We particularly enjoyed the pool area, with a massive, high-ceilinged covered porch area as well as the sunnier pool space. Communication with Mat was wonderful-they live around the corner so can pop by easily. The bedrooms/bathrooms are lovely and the kitchen is magnificent. The photos are great, but the reality is even better. The house is in a great location-you can walk to the many squares and markets easily. We would not hesitate to recommend this house. Merida is a great town (dining at Apoala in Santa Lucia Square is a must!) with lots of day trips to do. We particularly enjoyed our visits to Celestun to see the flamingos, the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza and Uxmal and the hacienda tour and cenote cave swim at Sotuta de Peon). We also HIGHLY recommend renting a car from Unirent (carrental.unirent@gmail.com), about 2 blocks away from the house. They are trustworthy and wonderful to deal with-very straightforward and up front with their pricing and contract. Thanks Mat and Aoife for a wonderful stay!

Excellent choice! It actually exceeded my expectations. The house is quite large, everything is very clean, everything is of quality and working 100%. The rooms are very comfortable, enough towels, everything has excellent lighting and ventilation. The house has very good architectural taste. The location is excellent, a few steps from Paseo Montejo. Mat welcomed us with courtesy! We will definitely be back!! By the way, in the photos the house looks smaller!
