Stay with Carmen

Dreamy contentment was perfection. From the hilarious troop of capuchin monkeys to the glorious beach just steps from the front yard to the yummy breakfast under the palm trees.

Dreamy Contentment is my home at Playa Matapalo. I’ve stayed multiple times in all of Carmen’s bungalows except her main house. Each is unique with comfortable accommodations and great views. I love the addition of the plants and table to backpackers creating it’s own personal courtyard. Thank you David, Kim and Yon for always making me feel like part of the family! See you next time :)

The best of the best, would recommend!

Very quiet place in front of the sea. Rich breakfast, the only "negative" thing is that in our case we opted for the cheapest room and the bathroom was separate from the bedroom and they made very hot days and the bathroom was very concentrated since there was no extractor or ventilation. But it was nothing more than that. Thank you for everything !

Carmen's place has a great location right at the beach. Ideal to relax for a few days. The room has a separate bathroom, which is separated by the terrace. It is a bit small but the beautiful location by the sea does the law.

The people in charge of the place were super friendly,attentive, and helpful. The room space in the photos looked wider and it was not specified that the bathroom is outside the room and the wifi did not arrive inside the room. However, the bed was comfortable, the A/C worked perfect, the beach and bath towels of good quality, the truth is worth staying there.

If I could give 6*, I would do it. It’s a real oasis of calm and peace we have never seen before. As soon as we arrived a helpful staff John took care of us and showed us everything, including the important info, where to watch the animals and tips for restaurants. Breakfast was also delicious! If we stayed longer, we’d probably cry that we have to leave. :)

Dreamy Contentment is what it say, a magical vortex of peace, ease, joy, beauty and exactly what I needed to restore and come back to life! a secret hidden gem with gorgeous beach that goes on and on and on! Breakfast on the beach, David and his partner and John were so helpful! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! in fact I'm goin back!

It’s on the beach. A beautiful location. We got an upgrade to a second floor apartment because the heavy rain flooded the whole area. It was very nice. The kitchen was well equipped and the shower very good. And a very good breakfast every morning. A great stay!

We spent 5 days at Playa Matapalo and loved it a lot - the place is beautiful, so close to the beach, quiet and we saw so many animals on the ground. The apartment was comfy and well equipped and daily breakfast on the porch was a great to start the day - so far the nicest place we stayed in Costa Rica.

David, Kimberly and John are a super helpful, professional and sweet team. They have been available for us at all times and made our stay 5 star. The location is faboulous and we had an unforgettable time. 💛💫 Everything is perfectly clean and very well taken care of.. matching the beautiful scenary. Highly recommend it!!

Dreamy Contentment is absolutely as it is described. Everything about our stay was delightful. If this place crosses your radar, book it. You won’t be disappointed if you are looking for a beautiful, clean, quiet retreat on a near private beach. Carmen was easy to communicate with and very helpful. David and Kim who fix breakfast and maintain the grounds were gracious hosts and so kind. We enjoyed every minute!

Wow. Dreamy contentment is the perfect way to describe this wonderful place. The pictures do not even begin to do it justice. The beautiful homemade breakfast on the beach every morning was such a treat. David, the groundskeeper, was so helpful and works so hard to make sure everything looks perfect. The beach was steps outside the door and no doubt the most beautiful we saw while in Costa Rica.
