This was our second 2 month stay at Calle 66, and the house feels like home. It is gorgeously designed by a famed local architect and his elegant touches throughout, most importantly pocket doors that allow a deep room-to-room openness, are the best. The airflow throughout the house is extraordinary, so even when it’s Mérida Hot, inside the air moves pleasantly. Things go wrong in any house, but Derek is a very responsive host and the on-the-ground management team were always there to correct an issue.

This home is luxury comfort, offering a blend of indoor and outdoor living spaces that captures the essences of Mexico Yucatán living. The center courtyard has a great wall water feature creating a tranquil ambiance and all spaces have multiple ceilings fans which keeps air moving and the house comfortable. The three bedrooms are nestled on the second floor with two of the bedrooms boasting private patios. With 3 adults and 2 kids we comfortably enjoyed our stay with easy walks to the city center for amazing foods and shopping. Communication was great with easy check-in/out. The house truly has it all and we’ll definitely book again without looking at other places…Superb!!

This villa rocks! This was our third two-month winter stay in Mêrida, and the third time’s the charm. This place has all the elements we had been looking for over the years — it has the feeling of a home, not a rental, it is well-designed with delightful water features in the open atrium and the pool; there is a perfect flow from the street entrance all the way back to pool, with pocket doors allowing for uninterrupted openness. The three bedrooms are all en-suite and great for couples sharing the home. The kitchen is a good size and well-stocked, easy to use for home cooking and entertaining. The dimmable lighting throughout allows for terrific mood adjustments (hate bright white light!), the up-to-date entertainment system for streaming and Sonos was much appreciated. Best of all was the on-the-ground management team. We rent homes and understand the importance of good communication and quick responses when there’s a problem. They were ace! We’re back next year for more!

Spectacular. We have stayed in a few different spaces in Merida Centro and this was by far the most convenient location - close to everything but still very quiet (an accomplishment!). We even slept with the windows open, taking advantage of the cool nights. Lots of nightlife, restaurants, and cantinas within a few short blocks. The space itself exceeded all of our expectations. Exceptionally well-equipped, excellent indoor and outdoor spaces to relax and unwind. Highly recommend.

Excellent stay

For those looking for a charming, colonial city, away from the tourist chaos of Cancun, Tulum, or Playa Del Carmen, Merida is the perfect antidote. Derrick’s place was perfect for my wife, me, and two 18 year olds. The house is beautiful, with great beds with real cotton sheets. The house is massive, and the perfect blend of indoor and outdoor living with a pool large enough for lap swimming. The communication with Derrick is as good an experience I have had with any Airbnb. I am looking forward to my return!!

We stayed here last year and we liked it so much we invited a pair of friends and came back to spend 28 nights at Derrick's. We kept cool and comfortable hanging out by the pool on even the hottest days. A short distance to Santiago park, Santa Ana Park, Santa Lucia Park and the Zocalo, anything you want is just a short walk away.

We have stayed in MANY AirBnB properties over the years - this one might have been the best! Very friendly owner, and the property manager, Obed, may just be the nicest person on earth. The house is gorgeous and equipped with very high quality appliances and furniture. The lighting is exquisite! Very spacious, quiet, and cool, especially with breeze passing through - a little sanctuary from the noise and bustle of the neighborhood. It’s a comfortable walk either to the main plaza or up to the boulevard and restaurant row (Oliva, Catrin, 130 Steakhouse, Micaela… they’re all fantastic!). We were there for a month and took a side trip to Oaxaca for a couple of days half way through - perhaps the nicest thing we can say about the property is how much it felt like home when we returned to it!

Derrick was very responsive. The house is exceptional and grand with its ceilings at least 5 meters high The kitchen is very well equipped. The rooms are spectacular and comfortable. The large terrace and pool are breathtaking and make up an amazing living space A special mention goes to the architect who presided to restore this colonial house. In terms of technology ( wifi and cie), the house is oddly well-equipped.

Beautiful home with lots of space and charms. Ideally placed on a quiet street close to Santa Lucia . All the comforts available in a house not only for rent. We had a lovely time here, to enjoy Merida on one side and the surrounding area (Uxmal , izamal, yaxcopoil). Thank you Derrick

Gorgeous house. Each bedroom is very private with individual bathrooms and a guest bathroom downstairs. Decor was perfect with beautiful antique furniture. The entire house was extremely comfortable and quiet. Very close walk to the center. Huge well equipped kitchen. Beautiful gardens and pool. Highly recommend this Airbnb. Derrick is a wonderful host who was immediately attentive to all needs.

Our stay at Derrick’s place was wonderful. My family of four was comfortable and felt completely at home. Each room is spacious, has its own private restroom and 2 of the larger rooms even have a small outdoor area, perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning. The kitchen was well stocked, modern and had plenty of tools. After a day of walking around town we enjoyed the pool twice during our stay. It was perfect. Fun bars and restaurants a walking distance away. Street parking outside the home for our car rental but super safe, no issues and the locals park there too, making me feel more secure. This was a much needed vacation for my parents and they’re Airbnb newbie’s so a bit skeptical of the concept but that all went away once we arrived at the house. I would 100% be back and highly recommend Derrick’s home to anyone planing to visit Mérida.

I travel with 4 kids, so when looking for a place to stay I need a house that has lots of space, things to keep the kids entertained, easy access to places to eat and an environment that is safe. I got all this in my recent stay at Derrick's house. The house is beautiful, functional and well maintained, it is what you see in the pictures and more. I have four boys of various ages, so I travel as a family of six. We spent five weeks in Derrick's house and everyone loved it; - they loved that there was lots of space both downstairs and upstairs, even the showers were spacious - they loved the pool where they spent many hours, it helped them adapt to the heat of Merida - they live on wifi and loved that it was available throughout the house - they are constantly eating and loved the big well equipped kitchen, the ice maker and toaster being the most popular feature for them - when done for the day they had plenty of options for watching TV or listening to Music, with Speakers and TV's in all the main areas - while the boys were entertained my wife and i enjoyed the couch in the hall area upstairs, where you can relax and read in evening breeze that blows through - I worked for 3 weeks and was able to find a quiet spot with good wifi to work, while the family enjoyed the house and Merida Merida is a nice city with lots to do and see. I have traveled in many parts of Mexico and I believe Merida to be one of the safest, with no concerns walking around with the kids, walking around at night, taking taxis etc. The house is perfectly located. I did not have a car and taxis are complicated with six people, therefore I needed something central. The house is located within a 5 minute walk of many great restaurants, parks, markets and shops. I was able to easily walk to Paseo de Montejo, Plaza Grand, Auto Progresso and even Walmart. The walks are enjoyable, short and safe. Lasly, Derrick and team are great hosts, very responsive whenever I had questions or asks so I was never stuck when I needed help. A great stay, even five weeks was not enough !!

This has to be very best spot in town. Staying at Derrick's house made me fall in love with Merida. The begin with, the house was beautiful. It is a warm yet spacious Colonial style in the heart of Centro Merida. With Derrick's tips, I was able to find some of very best places (and some hidden gems) for coffee, breakfast, lavish dinners and the all the local Cantinas that provide the ultimate Yucatan experience. Everything is either steps away or a very short drive. The entire house is WiFi compatible, with the Sonos speakers and home networking making it easy to control everything from lights to music right from your phone. The patio/garden/pool area is a lavish space with lots of comfortable furniture and a wood & stone decor that remind you of the special place you're visiting. Plus, the pool is full length, which makes it accessible for all your guests. I also love to cook, so the 5-star kitchen was such a bonus, with more counter space than you could possibly need and all the amenities I spent years building at home. Both the bedrooms and bathrooms are oversized which gives you the sense of a superior hotel. But the most memorable part was the authentic feel you get from this truly amazing space. Everything was so well thought out and all our needs were so completely catered to, we didn't want our stay to end. Thank you Derrick for your wonderful home and all your help.

We had a wonderful stay at Derrick's place. The house is a beautiful Spanish Colonial with WiFi throughout and plenty of space for the four of us. Kitchen and bathrooms are fully stocked with everything you need. It is located in the historic downtown within walking distance to restaurants, shops, cantinas and parks. A 10 minute walk takes you to the main plaza where there are live performances, historic buildings and lots of street vendors. The area is very lively and safe with lots of people walking around until late at night. The house has a secure garage but there is also plenty of free street parking. This house is the most beautiful Airbnb we have stayed at and we would definitely recommend it for anyone who wants an authentic Merida experience.
