We had a wonderful stay at El Sol! Beautiful place! Very comfortable for our family vacation with a peaceful pristine pool! Host was great; super responsive and so welcoming! We would definitely recommend El Sol to anyone visiting Monteverde!

We really enjoyed our stay and were very happy with the meals that are available for purchase. If you travel to Costa Rica, you must have the Waze app which will make it much easier to find your way around. The home was peaceful and we really liked the grounds, especially the pool. It is very close to town and accessible to restaurants and activities.

I had a long day of traveling and was overwhelmed and exhausted. Suzanne welcomed us with a smile and such positive energy, she quickly turned my day around by showing us the beautiful grounds, welcoming us into the cabin and asking how she can help. Suzanne coordinated our local activities/tours, arranged for dinner to be prepared and delivered to our cabin, and promptly delivered wine to our cabin too! Suzanne was warm and kind, and her lovely acts and energy removed all stress! The cabin was beautiful and had everything we needed, the grounds were beautiful, the pool and view were breathtaking, and the food that they prepared was amazing, fresh, yummy, and huge portions (we ended up having dinner one time and breakfast two times)! I definitely recommend staying at El Sol, and we will be back! Thank you for an amazing experience!

We absolutely loved our stay in this magical place. Our kids are already begging to go back to Costa Rica and stay at El Sol. The property is beautifully maintained with a fun pool and birds everywhere. Javier and staff were so warm and helpful with any and all recommendations. We had them make breakfast for us a couple days and it was delicious. Monteverde is a truly special place in the world and staying at El Sol made it even better. They even provided ear plugs for the early morning bird chatter!

Our family loved our stay at El Sol! The house was beautiful and the setting was stunning on the mountains! Little piece of Heaven for sure! Wish we’d stayed longer! Susanne recommended El Tigre waterfall and we had the best time! The place is enchanted!

El Sol is magical and deserves a write up in Conde Naste! Absolutely stunning cabin with every detail thought about. The grounds are very peaceful and relaxing. I can’t say enough good things! I wish I spent a week there. 20 out of 10!!!

El sol was magical! The setting is peaceful and private with a beautiful landscape and sunsets that just keep on giving. Our home was cozy and colorful with intricate woodwork and amazing artwork, and everything you could possibly need. 10-12 minutes away is the town of Santa Elena which is great for strolling, with many shops and good restaurants. El sol does offer home cooked meals which we didn’t try but heard great things from other guests on property. Many options for hiking/exploring cloud forest - our favorite was El Tigre, with amazing waterfalls and hanging bridges that make you feel like you’re in an Indiana Jones film. We also really enjoyed the night walk. I can’t speak highly enough about Javier and Susanne, the magicians behind the place. They were amazing, made us feel at home away from home, and helped us create a schedule that allowed us to see the most of Monteverde, eat really well, and take home some priceless memories. It was hard to leave. Until next time.

Lovely property. The cabin was cozy. The optional meals were delicious and generous portions. Everyone was happy including the kids. We Will be back for sure.

Me and my group really enjoyed this place. From the pool with valley views, to the beautiful colors of the cabin, the beautiful woodwork and amazing breakfast. They really made us feel at home during our stay. The only thing we regret is not staying longer!
