Let me start by saying Tim is a fantastic host. Extremely helpful. The home itself is absolutely beautiful. The views are outstanding. We have stayed in several homes in Costa Rica, always in the mountains, and accessing this home was fairly easy. I still recommend a 4x4 but it wasn’t a challenge. The city of Nosara has all the amenities you’d need and the beach is less than ten mins from the house. We recommend stopping at K-Rae’s pub for lunch or dinner. It’s a two min drive and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We saw monkeys, coatis, iguanas and birds daily from the property. The home is 2 bedrooms, and the master bedroom was quite a bit warmer than the other rooms in the house. We found it difficult to sleep some of the nights without A/C, and even with the fan it was at least 85 degrees in that room some nights. We also missed having a pool on such hot days but luckily the beach was close by. Although we got international plans on our phones we couldn’t get cellular access at the house and the WiFi didn’t work 90% of the time. If only one person was online sometimes it worked very slowly. But certainly not enough to watch a movie in the evenings on Netflix or anything. There’s no TV either so be prepared to embrace nature and be completely off the grid for the duration of your stay. We definitely recommend the canopy tour (Zipline). Overall we had a nice stay in this beautiful home surrounded by nature.

Beautiful house with an amazing view and it’s own soundtrack - the howling monkeys. Perfect sunset and sunrise. We enjoyed a lot our stay at Tim’s place! This is the perfect place if you want to be away from the masses and enjoy the sound of nature. Still, be aware that this means it takes almost 25 min by car to the beach on a bumpy road we did not dare drive by night nor rain. And since there is no A/C it gets really hot during the day so we would only return to the house earliest at 4pm once it got a little cooler. All in all, a small price to pay for paradise, in our opinion!

Amazing place, worth every cent! like living in a dream, perfect escape from the world. definitely try to rent a 4-wheel drive car to get up there.

Tim's place is one of complete beauty as the architecture and appearance of the house it truly unique. The seclusion of the space within the rainforest brings a feeling of peace and tranquility that allows you to truly relax and unwind in the nature that Costa Rica has to offer. The best part was laying on the patio chairs in the evening watching the night sky completely filled with stars and listening to the noises of the forest. The amenities are spot on as well as the wifi works well and the kitchen has everything you need to create your own meals. Tim was always very responsive to our messages and made check in and check out a breeze as he met personally with us to show us to the house, walk us through the grounds, and ensure we had a pleasant stay. We'd definitely come back here in the future when we visit again!

This is a spectacular, serene home and an uncommon experience. Watch a magnificent sunset out on your balcony, gaze for hours at the endless stars, and disconnect from your life for a while. Howler monkeys said hello to us in the morning in the trees across the way. In the evening, we relaxed in the beautifully decorated, vast space of the first floor. During the day, many great locations were minutes away by car -- Playa Pelada, Playa Guiones, horseback riding, Sibu Monkey Sanctuary. The owners are super friendly and a great resource for local history and things to do. Next time, we're taking surf lessons!

You are well above the dusty environs of Nosara which you must tackle to get to gorgeous beaches. Dry season brings its challenges and local road dust is a significant detractor. This is a very unique and magical place ! The home’s dawns and sunsets are amazing highlights together with spectacular stargazing in the cool evenings. The home’s setting and incredible vistas are reminiscent of a lofty eyrie. Lighting is muted on the main floor, and more so in the kitchen area which makes cooking after dark a challenge. We brought up bedroom lamps to compensate Bedrooms have ceiling fans but warm up during the day and evening. The floor fan helped in one bedroom.

Gorgeus house! The place is magical! Everything is perfect! every detail in the house is so beautiful. And the location offers stunning sunsets views!! The balcony is perfect for yoga practice, I did it every morning with that amazing view! It's just magical. Thank you Tim.

Tim’s place is super picturesque—it has unique architecture, decorative furniture, and a beautiful balcony to view the ocean for sunset/sunrise. I highly recommend for its beauty. We had a fantastic time in the space and even cooked a giant Thanksgiving feast there, but I don’t think the house is for everyone. Travelers should be aware before coming to Nosara that there’s about no paved roads for 20 miles of the town, and the road leading to Tim’s mountain top hideaway is a rugged dirt path so a 4WD is required. While gorgeous during the day, our group struggled with the poor WiFi (which might be a pro to some who are looking to truly unplug) and very minimal lighting after sunset. Perhaps unavoidable in a Costa Rican jungle, there were no shortage of insects and geckos inside the house, and we saw 2 scorpions.

A beautiful house in the middle of the jungle with a mountain/ocean view. Lots of critters to listen to and look at. My favorite thing was watching the clouds roll by under us through the hills at night. Would definitely recommend for a nice relaxing getaway.
