The Space
Villa Mapache is situated on a hill between the jungle and the ocean, offering stunning views just half a mile from the well-known La Lora beach break. This open-concept villa includes:
- 2 bedrooms with king-sized beds, each featuring an ensuite bathroom
- Infinity saltwater pool overlooking the ocean
- Semi-open kitchen and dining area
- Semi-open living room with a large sofa and smart TV
- Desk space
- Kitchen equipped with an oven, stove, Italian espresso machine, regular coffee maker, and a large refrigerator and freezer
- Up to 95 Mbps fiber optic internet
The bedrooms are accessible from the terrace, and to move between the living room and bedrooms, you must go outside, as shown in the photos. Both bathrooms are ensuite. The villa embraces tropical living with sliding glass doors (which do not lock) within a gated community that has 24-hour security.
On the same property, behind this house, there is a smaller separate house. Both homes are private but share parking space.
Location
Villa Mapache is located in a residential neighborhood within the Paradise Hills gated community, approximately half a mile from Eat Street and Selina North.
Santa Teresa is a beautiful tropical destination known for its white sandy beaches, turquoise waters, and breathtaking sunsets. It offers some of the best surfing breaks on the Pacific coast. Nature lovers will appreciate the nearby Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve and the abundance of local wildlife.

Guest Access and Transportation
Due to the steepness of the road leading to the property, renting a 4WD vehicle or ATV is highly recommended, especially between May and November. The property offers sheltered parking shared with the neighboring house.

This was by far the best stay I’ve ever had! House is beautiful, clean, and exactly if not even better than described. The view is breathtaking, you’ll see beautiful sunset from there! Location is perfect really not far from the main street of santa teresa and easily accessible. But still very safe, calm and private. The host is very nice, available, responsive and generous! I really never had to worry about anything there. Thank you again a lot for everything ! - Rose

We had a great time staying here. The view is absolutely incredible - honestly the best views, and the pictures match the description perfectly. The kitchen was fully kitted out and the whole indoor/outdoor living setup felt very Costa Rica. Yes, there are bugs, but that’s part of being in the jungle, and the view more than outweighs it. Uky was very responsive and a great host throughout our stay. We also felt very safe with security at the entrance to the property. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for an authentic jungle stay with unforgettable view

An meine Freunde des guten Lebens - bitte lesen! Positiv: die Fotos und anderen Bewertungen sind nicht inkorrekt. Man schläft wirklich im Dschungel und hat eine tolle und seltene Aussicht. ABER! Es ist weder ein luxuriöses Erlebnis noch eine Villa (Airbnb Titel zur Zeit unserer Buchung: „Luxuriöse Villa“). Das Erlebnis ist ausschließlich etwas für Leute, die auch gerne Campen gehen. Wenn man abends das Licht anmachte, kamen hunderte von Insekten ins Haus, da es keine Fenster gibt (Sonnenuntergang im Mai ist 6 Uhr!). Man konnte also ab 6 weder kochen geschweige denn essen, da unzählige Käfer und Kakerlaken auf dem Tisch waren. Duschen ging nur mit Handy-Licht. Nachts ist es dann so laut, dass Menschen mit leichtem Schlaf nur schwer zur Ruhe kommen - insbesondere da auch Affen in die Küche gingen und ums Haus schlichen. Die Hälfte der Geräte war defekt (Ventilatoren, Gate, Herd…) und es gibt weder Klimaanlage noch Geschirrspüler. Handtücher riechen immer muffig und waren dreckig …

We spent a week in paradise at Villa Mapache. The pool was delightful. We were in it many times each day enjoying the superb view of the ocean and the beautiful skies. We had to learn to adapt to the total open air situation, which meant getting the cooking done before nightfall and the need for proper lighting which invites many bugs. Making those adjustments was more than worth it! It was truly an experience of a lifetime. We cant say enough about our wonderful host, Uky! He went above and beyond to help us with anything we needed. We may have another visit in our future. Especially to see Uky!

Wir hatten eine wunderbare Zeit in der Unterkunft! Die Kommunikation bei Fragen war hervorragend. Die Unterkunft ist sehr offen und lässt sich auch nicht abschließen. Es handelt sich aber um eine Gated-Area und wir haben uns zu keiner Zeit unsicher gefühlt. Man ist mitten in der Natur, damit sollte man natürlich keine Probleme haben. Wir würden jeder Zeit wiederkommen!

Me and my girlfriend absolutely loved it. We stayed at 3 different places during our time in Santa Teresa and Villa Mapache was our favorite. One of the reasons for this was because of Uky who was so helpful during our stay. He was literally waiting for us when we arrived at the AirBnB, gave us a tour, sent us tons of tips and recommendations, helped us book an ATV, and helped with other travel advice even after we left the villa. He truly cared about our experience and it meant a lot! As for the villa itself, keep in mind that it's open air, so if it's hot outside then it can get hot at night when sleeping. They do have fans but if you are not used to sleeping in the heat just be prepared! And then you will definitely need an ATV to get to/from the villa from town. ATV's are $60-80/day so just keep that in your budget. Overall, the view from the infinity pool was well worth needing an ATV and I would definitely stay here again.
